Heartbeats and Head Pats

His heart was pounding hard in his chest as he tried to turn his head away to break the rough kiss. Their bodies were pressed together in several places where most of Del's weight was resting on him.

Mina's wrists had been freed in order to allow Del's hands to start slipping beneath his shirt and dig fingers through his hair. He did his best to try and push him off, but the man's weight was too much to move.

A particularly sharp bite to his bottom lip had Mina hissing and snapping back at him with his own teeth. Del leaned back in time to dodge the little nip easily, then redirected to his neck as his left hand slid between the waistband of Mina's sweatpants.

Del's cellphone began chiming around them as things got more heated, but it didn't seem to make him do more than pause for a second before disregarding it. Mina continuously tried to squirm away from his determined hand and even grabbed it with both of his own, fighting to keep him from redirecting into his boxers and heading south.

This was not my best idea!

He felt teeth beginning to nibble at his neck and shivered before sinking his own into Del's warm skin. He wasn't sure exactly what that action would accomplish, but when Del started to lean back, retracting his hand from his pants, Mina sighed with relief and let his head drop back down to the floor.

Dress shoes suddenly appeared to his left right before Del's beast ripped free of his human skin and began trying to maul Buck. Mina scrambled to the back of the elevator as the two large animals bolted down the long hallway outside of it. Wide-eyed, he watched Del's giant wolf try to murder Buck's deer, but it seemed almost too lost in the fight to really react well. Buck was dodging decently enough, and even deflected several attacks with his large set of antlers.

It was impressive to see him able to hold his own against Del, especially since he was out of control and just attacking wildly. From the corner of his eye Mina noticed his collar lying on the floor by his foot and hurriedly grabbed it. The clasp was broken, but he fumbled with it for a moment and wrapped it around his neck anyways, holding it in place.

He hadn't realized how badly he was shaking holding himself in a sitting position with his right arm as his left held the necklace on. I should make the elevator move again. Maybe that will calm him down. He thought as he tried to get up, but his legs refused to lift his weight.

Del scored a decent hit with one of his claws across Buck's muscular shoulder, making the deer snort and swing its head, connecting its heavy antlers with Del's side, surprisingly sending him flying a few feet into a wall.

The giant wolf shook off the hit with a grunt, but before either of them could react again, Magnus appeared from the stairwell area toward the back of the hall, panting heavily as he leaned over, hands on his knees.

"Jesus. Christ. That is a serious workout." He rasped, drawing both Del and Buck's attention before Del's giant wolf started for him. Buck tried to distract him, but Magnus didn't seem worried. In fact, he simply rolled his eyes and grumbled as he yanked his shirt off. "Guess you finally get to beat up this dick today, chubby. Have at."

Before the fabric even hit the floor his bear-dog was tearing through his flesh and met Del's wolf head on. Mina hadn't thought that he'd be able to do anything considering he was a little smaller, but when Magnus got up on his back legs and dug his claws into Del's furry back, then swung him one way, then abruptly the other, he felt his jaw drop. Del's huge wolf slammed into the carpeted floor hard.

He was thrashing his wings as he tried to stand back up, but Magnus wasn't having any of it. His big shift hobbled up onto Del's chest and sat down, then leaned over so that his dagger-like claws settled at the base of the wolf's neck.

Self preservation seemed to kick in right then, because Del's wolf actually stopped struggling. It's teeth were still bared, but it was clear that he'd do more damage to himself than Magnus if he tried to fight anymore.

His bear-dog is surprisingly calm for how tense this situation is.

Magnus remained sitting on Del's chest until his wolf finally shifted, allowing his human form to take over again. He was still clearly riled up, but when his head turned on the carpet to look down the hall at him, Mina felt his heart hurt a little. Del looked exhausted and stressed out.

Swallowing, Mina finally got himself to his feet as he kept a tight grip on his necklace, not daring to let it slip from around his throat. Magnus shifted after another minute, though it was clear that his bear-dog had been contemplating trying for Buck with a few glances.

"You morons are lucky I just ate my weight in burgers." He grumbled as he got off of Del and then looked up at Buck, then further back toward Mina.

That was the moment that Mina realized that he just couldn't do it anymore. He stumbled over to the emergency stop button that Del had pushed a while ago and smacked it with his free hand. The doors quickly closed, then he sank back to the floor with a groan. His body still hummed with terror, but there was also something else there. Something that he didn't dare try to think about. He'd liked it when Del had gotten a hold of him.

He tried to shake off the idea, blaming his lion for the emotions, but he couldn't argue that he almost hadn't tried to stop him when he'd slipped his hand into his sweatpants.

Love in an elevator... not exactly the song I thought I'd ever reenact.

He laughed at the dull humor, though it sounded more like a whimper, then stood up as the elevator stopped on the first floor. There was no doubt in his mind that he looked like he'd almost just been ravaged, but he really didn't care right then.

Time to get the heck home and tie myself to something so my darn kitten can't get me beneath him again.

"Oh come on!" Knight said as he stared down at the plate of food Jared had made for him.

Well, it hadn't really been made for him, so much as he had asked to have whatever little bit of extra the man had made that he didn't want. He hadn't wanted to hunt again so soon, but Jared had failed to mention that it was all vegetables.

What lion eats vegetables? He grumbled to himself as he poked at the pan fried zucchini and onions. There was also shaved carrots and mushrooms in it, but even with the thick garlic and butter sauce on them, they didn't look like anything he wanted to put in his mouth.

I just want to eat his darn tubesteak. That would definitely fill me up.

The thought had him licking his lips as his stomach growled at the mental image. When his eyes cut over from where he sat at the dining room table to where Jared was sitting in the recliner eating and reading a book, he pursed his lips and scowled.

"Your horny emotions are making it impossible to enjoy my meal." Jared grumbled, glaring over at him.

He couldn't help it! He'd gotten pretty good at keeping his mouth shut and not pressing him for attention, but it was hard living with him and not being able to do much more than stare.

Can't even jerk off to you cause you can read my thoughts unless I focus like hell. He thought to himself, frustrated.

Jared glanced over at him, his eyes narrowed slightly.

Knight stuck his tongue at him, then grumbled as he forced himself to take a few bites of the food. He paused on his second bite, chewing slowly to actually taste the flavors. It was odd. He'd eaten more mice, rats, and fish than anything else in his life, yet the vegetables in his mouth actually tasted somewhat good.

A slight smile tilted his lips as he took another bite of the vegetable mixture and leaned back, chewing quietly. Before he knew it he had the plate empty and was scraping his fork in the sauce to lick at it.

That was really good. He hadn't really meant to send the thought, but he hadn't tried to hold it back from being read, either. It had been delicious. Before he could get up to take his empty plate to the sink, and do the dishes since they were getting close to growing things on them, a small portion of vegetables were slipped onto his plate.

Looking up, Knight saw Jared beside him, scraping what he hadn't finished onto his plate. When he had emptied it, he started turning to take his plate to the sink, but Knight quickly grabbed it out of his hands and ran his tongue along the remaining creamy sauce still left on the dish.

Jared raised an eyebrow at him and started to scowl, but Knight just fidgeted and looked down, licking at the plate again. He hadn't meant to seem like he was being perverted. He just really liked the sauce and didn't want it wasted. He cleaned the plate with a few more licks, then ran his tongue over his lips, doing his best not to look back up at Jared.

Why hasn't he moved yet?

Feeling a hand settle on his hair abruptly made Knight tense, but when pain didn't follow, and he didn't get a reprimand, either, he hesitantly glanced up. Jared was already turning away by the time he was able to see him, making Knight frown and turn back to his food with much less enthusiasm than before.

He had no idea why Jared had pat his head. It bothered him as he worked on cleaning up the rest of the remaining vegetables on his plate, then licking up the last of the sauce. He'd been so focused on his thoughts that when he brought his dish to the kitchen and Jared just took it to begin washing, he blinked, surprised.

He did all the dishes already?

Knight hadn't even noticed that the water had been running.

"Um, thanks." He mumbled awkwardly as Jared cleaned his plate quickly, then set it with the others on the draining wrack.

When he shut the water off and began drying his hands on a small towel, Knight quickly turned around, intent on being out of his sight, since he seemed to prefer that more times than not. He was just stepping toward the door when he felt warm fingers lightly grasp his wrist. He could have easily pulled away, but he wouldn't dare. Jared was actually touching him on purpose.

Swallowing nervously, he slowly turned around, curious but hesitant. When Jared didn't say anything, he fidgeted and looked down at his bare feet. There was silence for several moments before he felt Jared's other hand settle on top of his head. It rustled his hair slightly, then his wrist was released and Jared walked past him, leaving Knight standing there, wide-eyes and shocked.

He actually touched me on purpose, and without a disgusted look.

Knight felt like he was flying higher than he ever had as he walked out of the kitchen to go fold clothing in the laundry room. He might have been smiling like a fool, too, but he couldn't help himself.
