Silly Season (Andrewagreen) (1)
Silly Season
Half a pound of tuppenny rice
Who ate all the treacle?
Mary's running down down the road
Doesn't have a vehicle.
Everything is upside down
Happens for no reason
No one quite knows what to do
Or whether it's the season.
Stupid is as stupid does
Going round in circles
Silly boy across the road
Watches out for turtles.
Is it right to venture out
In the wrong pyjamas?
Percy Shelley, so devout
Asks the Dalai Lama.
Saw a goose upon the stair
Whither shall I wander?
Who fell down and broke their crown?
So much there to ponder.
The King is in his counting house
Looking for a penny
Tries to make some sense of this
But there isn't any.
