The Truth

It lurks beneath the surface

It may be shallow, or

It may deep

It holds every secret

It turns them into dreams

It can use them as a warning

It may foretell in a nightmare, and

It will do so without permission

It has an identity, and

It goes by many names

It is your subconscious, or

It is your soul, or

It is just you, and

It has a name, it's 'Me', but

It looks nothing like the sanitised image on display

It was there before the pandemic, where

It hid beneath the surface

It will not let me be seen

It will not let me be known

It will not let me touch a heart, but

It is all up to you, because

It is your choice to sink or float, and

It is only 'You' who has the choice to set me free, making

It is the only way, 'We' will fulfil 'Our' destiny
