INVERNESS, SCOTLAND. A town with over 46 thousand residents, and one of the most popular tourist place ▬ and if there was one thing many people liked, it was the friendly face of police officer Jason Collins.
Jason Collins was a happy go lucky police officer, always bright but serious when it comes to his job. Then there was his wife, Coraline Collins worked in a nightclub downtown and was as well loved by many.
There two daughters, Thalia ▬ who was ten and Jade, who was eight ▬ were kids that always wore bright smiles, and always had good relationships with everyone that they had met. "Thalia!" Jason spoke, loudly ▬ as he dropped the keys onto the table.
The house was quiet when he got home on the night of the 25, 2010. A loud scream, made Jason jump in shock before his fingers grasped around the cold metal of his gun ▬ "daddy!" Thalia screamed, bouncing down the stairs, tear stained cheeks.
"Lia. Where's Jade and mummy?" He questioned, and she fell to the floor ▬ ten years old, and that's when Jason realised, blood. There was a lot of blood on all over her tiny body. "Baby, listen to me ▬ you need to breathe." He spoke, pushing a brown hair away from her eyes as he leans down in front of her.
"S-Someone came in!" She weeped, her body shaking. "Jade's in the closet, and m-mummy's dead." For a young girl, she knew what she was talking about ▬ partly because of the fact that her dad was a cop.
"Thalia, listen to me ▬ right now. You need to get Jade, and get out of here ▬ okay baby." He whispers, pushing a kiss against the crown of her head. "Go, go." He speaks, pushing her towards Jade's bedroom.
Jason clicked on a phone number on his phone, and called "911, what's your emergency?" the dispatcher asks, and Jason quickly explains what was happening. As he walked towards the stairs, 10 year old Thalia, ushered her sister out of the house.
Once Thalia and Jade were outside, screams echoed through Thalia's head ▬ as she remembered the terrified look on her mothers face, as she tried to remain strong for her two children.
Not like Thalia could ever get that face out of her brain. It was ingrained.
Loud shouting vibrated through the house, as most of the windows were open ▬ and many neighbours came out of their houses, as police cars pulled up outside ▬ just in time to hear three gunshots go off, and Thalia pulled her sister into her body to contain the noises inside their house, trying to reduce the effect their parents murder would have on her.
Matthew Robinson ▬ a homicide detective, and Thalia and Jade's godfather managed to reach the two terrified children. "Lia, Jade." He spoke, as he pulled them both into her ▬ tears were streaming down the oldest child's face.
"Matty," Jade spoke, silently pleading for the senior detective to pick her up ▬ and he did, placing her on his hip as two covered bodies were rolled out of the Collin's home. Lia closed her blue eyes, as she tried to contain the tears that were yet again trying to push themselves out.
"Lia," Matthew spoke, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder as she looked back at him. "We need to get you two out of here, this is no place for two little kids." He softly spoke, and Thalia nodded as Jade's eyes started to flutter shut.
"Go to sleep sister." Thalia spoke lightly, brushing a blonde hair away from her sisters eyes before clambering into Matthew's patrol car.

"I remember the first time I met the Collins." Matthew spoke as he stood at the top of their graves, Thalia and Jade were standing at the bottom ▬ Thalia was wearing a small, back dress while her sister was in a matching black dress. "They were lovely people, Coraline could make anyone laugh. It didn't help that she made friends with basically everyone, good or bad. It didn't matter." He spoke, with tears in his eyes.
"Jason was one of our best police officers, loved by many but also hated by many. Thalia and Jade are now parentless, and I don't know how I can grow them up to be like their parents, I hope that I can ▬ but they were kind, selfless people ▬ and I've got none of those traits. So I'm sorry, Jas if they come out a bit weird." He spoke.
Little giggles vibrated through the cemetery, they all knew that Thalia and Jade would be okay with Jason ▬ and if not, well they would regret it later. Once Matt's speech was over, everyone took their turn to put a red rose at their grave.
"I love you mum and dad." Thalia spoke softly, as she placed her rose on top. A few tears dripping down her cheeks. "I'll protect Jade with my life." she spoke, before rising and walking towards Matt ▬ who wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close.
