Innocent Victims: Day Twenty One
'The Story That Lasted Thirty-One Days'
In desperation, the High Priestess gave the order, there was to be no mercy kill all the slaves, to save one it was going to cost the lives of every slave.
There was nothing the Schnozzles liked more than the killing of Endophyn, whom they considered no more than vermin, this time there were no saviours with Halloween and Almanac fully focused on the raging battle. Uthreatened, the merciless Schnozzles, and Azuki-Pierog descended upon the timid and terrified, who stood frozen to the floor with fear. The leading Schnozzle displayed its monstrous proboscis, making it clear to its intended victims, the nature of their fate.
Suddenly the lad saved by Halloween burst from the crowd of mortal statues, wielding a proboscis he'd torn from one of those slain demons and using it as a spear, plunged it deeply into its horny skull, the abomination died instantly and crashed to the floor. This was the first time in recorded history that an Endophyn had shown any form of resistance, the watching slaves could not believe their eyes and in unison asked.
"Who was this little waif who'd broken the faith and taken the life of an enemy?"
The blood-spattered lad quickly retrieved the proboscis and in a matter of moments, another two demons met the same fate. He was exhilarated and it didn't take him long to realize he was far too fast and nimble for the enemy, who lumbered in comparison. However, without help, his heroics would be wasted as he would in time be overcome. Eventually, he became surrounded by a mix of Schnozzles and Azuki-Pierogi with grimaces of vengeance etched upon their red faces.
Even in the presence of such daring deeds, most of the slaves still stood in terror or disgust at his breach of their pacifistic faith, that promised them a seat at God's table. However, there were those that were inspired and not prepared to stand back and watch a hero die in vain who began snapping the proboscis from dead or dying Schnozzles and proceeded to attack the enemy from the rear. The killing came easier than they thought, they were soon slicing and dicing Azuki-Pierogi and Schnozzles, who died without knowing, without sight of their enemy and in no time they'd cut a pathway clear through their ranks, to reach their new champion. When the boy was free they turned their attention to the flank of the enemy who continued to advance, inspired by the success of the rebels, more and more slaves joined the fight, which became the first slave revolt in the Endophyn's recorded history.
They might well die this day, for even though slow and cumbersome the uncountable enemy outnumbered them, but they would die as heroes, and they no longer cared whether or not they ended up at gods table. They knew in their hearts they were good people and believed their God would know this too?
