[4] I Don't Know
I don't have one outfit since it changes a bit in their chapter XD
Guess who's back? (I'll explain in the A/N at the end)
--------
Bryce was busy drinking coffee, so he didn't notice Ryan staring at him. To be honest, Ryan was yet again in a trance by the beauty of Bryce. He loudly sighed, closing his eyes lightly to try and get Bryce off his mind. But even with his eyes tightly shut, he couldn't seem to pry Bryce's mental image from his mind. Bryce's voice made him open his eyes again.
"You okay?" He asked politely, taking another sip of his coffee. "You've been acting strangely ever since you woke up."
"Hm? Oh, I'm fine. I, uh, just need to wake up a bit more." Ryan lied, closing his eyes again. Bryce looked up from the book he was analyzing, his eyes locking with Ryan's closed ones.
Bryce moved his eyes along Ryan's face, blushing a bit. His seemed to retreat to Ryan's beautiful lips, and his brain wanted there to be no space between him and Ryan. But Bryce kept pulling his eyes back up to something different. He finally let his eyes set on something other than Ryan. It was the window.
Bryce has always loved nature. His old house was next to a meadow, which was filled with wildlife of every kind. Unfortunately, they had to leave the house in order to "start a better life in the city", said his parents. But ever since the move, his life hasn't been the same. His parents argued a lot, until they finally divorced: his dad taking his sister while him and his brother stayed with his mom.
His mom soon turned to drugs and alcohol, and wasn't home enough to care for her own children. That's one reason why Bryce is so mother like. He had to take care of his little brother. Now that Bryce his off to college, he can only hope that his mom is taking care of his little brother.
Hope.
"Ryan," Bryce finally breathed out, pulling on the collar of his shirt. Ryan hummed in response, his position shifted from sitting, to laying flat on his bed and starring at the ceiling. "We're friends, right?" Ryan hummed again, turning on his side so he could face Bryce. "We'll always be friends, right?"
In all honesty, the word 'friend' made Ryan cringe. Sure, he would love to be Bryce's friend. But he would also love to be Bryce's..."Ryan, we'll always be friends, right?"
Ryan snapped out of his trance as Bryce repeated his words. "Yes. I promise."
—————
Bryce wasn't having the easiest time of sleeping. He yawned repeatedly while rubbing his eyes. Yes, he was tired. But for some reason, he couldn't get any shuteye. Maybe it was Ryan's obnoxious snoring. But, Bryce has dealt with that for the past month. Maybe it's Ryan in general...
Bryce doesn't know the feelings he has for Ryan. One moment, he thinks of Ryan as a brother. The next, he wants to kiss Ryan—in a very romantic way. In all honesty, he would rather kiss Ryan. Or, have Ryan as a best friend? All of these thoughts were making Bryce frustrated.
When Ryan's snoring stopped, and he stirred in his sleep, Bryce tried pretending to be asleep. He heard Ryan shuffling, and then heard him step out of bed. "Bryce, I can tell you're awake."
Bryce huffed out a breathe, opening his eyes fully. "Yeah, fine, I am."
"Why aren't you asleep yet? It's nearly midnight." Ryan stated, turning the lamp on next to Bryce's bed. Bryce huffed out a breathe again, closing his eyes.
"I-I guess I can't sleep." Bryce rolled over so he was facing the ceiling, his eyes opened now.
"Well, duh. But why can't you sleep?"
"I dunno. School?" Bryce lied. He did know why he couldn't sleep, but he didn't want Ryan to know. So, he lied.
Ryan sighed, unable to ask anymore questions without making Bryce cranky. So, he got back in bed, sighing heavily again. His eyes fluttered open and shut, his heart tingling at the thought of Bryce, and soon enough, he was asleep.
But Bryce still wasn't. His eyes were still wide open and his breathe's were heavy. He soon heard snoring come from his room mate. With a sigh, he finally settled into a comfy spot. His arms hung loosely above his head, and his legs dangled to the side. He closed his eyes slowly, and felt relief come upon him as he fell fast asleep.
—————
Bryce woke up with a pain in his back, his head aching and his throat tingling. He heard Ryan cough, and then the coffee maker go off. He sat up, rubbing his head furiously as the light beat on him.
"Want some coffee, Bryce?" Ryan asked, but like he already knew the answer, he had Bryce's favorite coffee in his hand. "We have a class at 12:30 today."
"Okay. And, could you get me some cold medicine?" Bryce asked, taking a small sip of the caramel creamed coffee in his hand.
"Sure. Don't be getting me sick, though." Ryan laughed, and so did Bryce.
But something Bryce found hot and quite attractive, was Ryan in the morning. He always wore a very loose tank-top, one that showed off his toned chest and biceps. To add on to that, he wore baggy basketball shorts. Not to mention, the sexy and raspy voice that replaced his normal soothing one.
"Here's your medicine." Ryan broke Bryce out of his thoughts, holding out two red pills. Bryce toke them, quickly swallowing them before sighing.
"I'm going to visit Jonathan." Bryce stated, standing out of bed. His usual attire was just some long pajama pants with a short sleeve t-shirt. Ryan hummed in response, going back into the kitchen.
"Eat the pancakes I made first." Ryan chuckled, Along with Bryce.
---
"So, why'd you want to talk to me?" Jonathan asks, pursing his lips as he sat next to Bryce. Bryce twiddled his fingers, shrugging in the process. "So, you called me but you don't know why?"
"No. Well, yes. Well, No. I'm sorry..." Bryce mentally face palmed.
"Don't be. Just tell me what's on your mind, kiddo." Jon smirked in the direction of Bryce. Bryce took a deep breathe, closing his eyes lightly before opening them again.
"I might have feelings for Ryan, but I don't know yet. One moment, I want to cuddle and kiss and just love Ryan, and the other I just want to be his best friend and enjoy his company as a friend, and I know I said too many 'ands' and its not grammatically correct, but you get my point!" Bryce rambled, his face flashing to an immediate bright red. Jon laughed, ruffling Bryce's golden hair.
"You worry too much. Just tell me when you know your feelings. For now, the secret is safe with me." Jon reassured, patting Bryce's back.
Bryce nodded, an achy feeling entering his stomach. It felt like a bottomless pit. Like there was something in the world that was supposed to fill it. He swore he already knew his feelings. How else would you explain the butterflies he gets when he's around Ryan? And the way he talks about Ryan? Bryce constantly calls him hot, sexy, attractive. I mean sure, he could just be being friendly, but he knows there must be something more to it. A deeper meaning.
But what?
