Louisa Lloyd

"You're coming with us."

"I'm what?" I stop scrolling down Snapchat and look up at the two girls leaning against the door, blocking my way out.

Sitting on my side of the bed, I raise my eyebrows at Lydia and Allison, both staring down at me like I'm their prey.

"The boys are going on a field trip to play Lacrosse and we're going too. So you're coming." Allison grabs my arm as Lydia rummages around my closet.

At least my side of the closet.

"What are you doing?" I shout when I'm shoved inside the bathroom and clothes are thrown at me.

A loose, long sleeve beige sweater, jeans and my favorite white converse hit the ground and I sigh, closing my eyes to prevent my claws from coming out and taking the now closed door down.

"Take a shower and get dressed." Lydia speaks from the other side of the door. "We'll be waiting out here."

Hissing and cussing the entire time, I take the quickest shower ever and get dressed in a minute, ready to get out of here and find out what these two want.

But what I face just as the door opens freezes my blood.

Anna and Allison, hugging each other like long lost friends

"Hey." I greet in a harsh tone, eyeing the two girls suspiciously. "What's going on?"

They both take their arms off each other and blush. If I hadn't known better, I would have thought they were flirting with each other or something. But I know for a fact they're both straight.

"Oh, Lou." Anna says, hiding her hands behind her back. "I didn't see you there."

"Clearly." I cross my arms in front of my chest and raise my eyebrows at them, waiting for an explanation.

"Erhm, this is not what it looks like."

"What is happening then?"

Silence. There's no answer from Allison, no answer from Annabeth. Lydia is as surprised by their behavior as I am, I can see that from the way she's raising her eyebrows at the girls, her hands on her hips. Just like me.

"Anna..." I begin at the same time as Lydia calls out for Allison.

"I'm sorry." Anna says and reaches for my hands. I stand back and position myself next to the door. I believe this conversation isn't going to be very pleasant.

"What are you sorry for?" I ask.

"Louisa... Your life isn't the only hard life out there. Mine is just as bad as yours... But in a different way." Anna takes a deep breath. "You know what Allison and her family does, right?"

"Of course, and so do you because I told you about that." I don't get where we're going with this conversation.

"Please calm down." Allison says in a stern tone and I look right in her eyes as I say my next words.

"Don't tell me what to do." I almost yell. "Don't think I forgive you for what you've done while I was gone."

Yes, I know. Allison has been trying to steal Isaac from me. I'm sorry if I'm being territorial but we left things unfinished before I left. He told me he loved me. I said it back. I don't want to let no go until I'm sure he doesn't feel anything else for me.

I believe he still feels something for me, like I do for him.

Silence is the only answer I receive from Allison as Anna is now my main focus. Her bright eyes shine with unshed tears and I have a bad feeling about this. Confusion. Betrayal. Those are some of the things I'm feeling right now. Sadness is one of them.

"You have to understand- we never meant to hurt you. I was going to tell you as soon as we came here, I didn't know it would take a while for me to find the courage to talk to you-"

"Say it!" I yell, my hands gripping my hair. I can't take this anymore.

"Allison and I- we are cousins." Annabeth plays with her fingers, her eyes not meeting mine. "I'm a werewolf hunter, just like the rest of our family. I'm sorry."

Again, uncomfortable silence hugs my body as I stare at her figure. My best friend, a girl I consider my own sister, the one I trust with all my heart, lied to me. Since the beginning. So that's how she knew I was a werewolf. She saw the signs. Why didn't she kill me like her family does?

"Why is everyone lying to me?" I ask, blinking furiously to prevent my eyes from shedding any tears. "I can't believe you didn't tell me. After all I told you... I even told you about my family! How could you do this to me?"

She tries to grab my hand but I raise my arms and growl. I can feel my body shifting and take slow breaths.

"You're part of my family." I whisper. "And family isn't supposed to lie to each other."

They stare at me with sadness in their eyes but I don't even look back when I open the door.

"I'll wait for you in the car." I tell Lydia and leave the room I share with that idiot behind, with even bigger idiots inside.

•^•^•^•^•^•

The reflection of the school bus shimmers across the windshield of Allison's car while she tries to keep a stealthy distance behind it.

Both Allison and Lydia have tried talking to me. Anna called me a couple of times since we left but I don't want to hear it. She chose to hide an important aspect of her life for so long, even after everything we've been through.

So that's why Allison and Anna were looking at each other when they first met. They weren't total strangers. They're cousins. Anna is an Argent.

Anna is a werewolf hunter. And I'm a werewolf.

"You think I'm getting too close?" Allison asks, slightly out of breath. "I'm getting too close, aren't I?"

"That depends. Are you just following the bus? Or are you planning to mount it at some point?" Lydia, next to her on the passenger's sear, says.

"So I should back off?"

"That also depends. Do you mean the bus? Or the ex-boyfriend you're currently stalking?"

"After what happened, I'm not letting him out of my sight. And by the way, this started when he came knocking on my door."

"For what?"

"Don't worry about it." Allison shakes her head like she doesn't want to talk about it anymore.

Lowering a book titled "Thermodynamic Asymmetry in Time", Lydia glances to the dashboard.

"So was the not let them out of your sight thing literal? Or more like a general rule?"

"Literal. Why?"

"You're under a quarter of a tank."

Allison looks to the gas gauge needle.

"Oh, come on."

"I'm also pretty sure that bus holds a lot more gas than this Toyota." Lydia smirks.

"What if we stop?"

"With the bus going at a steady sixty-five including time to pump gas? It would probably take about half an hour to catch up going at least a hundred and ten." The strawberry blonde touches her fingers to the dashboard and her lips turn up.

Allison's eyes flit from road to gas needle and back. "Is it that big a deal? So we lose them for a little while. We know where they're headed."

I stop listening to their conversation. Then, as if by a miracle, an idea suddenly invades my mind. If the conversation here in this car isn't interesting, what about spying on the boys inside the bus?

I've never had such a great idea.

Unfortunately, my happiness is ripped from me as Allison hits the brakes. I shake my head due to the brusque movement and lay my head against the cool window, my eyes roaming around the highway.

After a few minutes of silence, my name being said inside the bus sparkles my interest. It was Stiles who said it.

"I'm calling Lou."

I haven't heard his voice since I left Beacon Hills a few months ago. And I haven't even talked to him since I came back.

I didn't realize how much I missed him.

"How is she going to help all the way back in Beacon Hills?" Scott sounds out of breath and in pain.

"She's not. She's been following us for hours, Lydia and Allison are with her right behind the bus."

When I look up from the window, Stiles is waving at us from the backseat of the bus. I wave back and laugh at Allison and Lydia's faces.

"Stiles knew." I pat their heads. "Oh, he knew since the beginning."

As I finish talking, my phone stars ringing. I pull it out from my pocket to see Stiles's name on the display.

"Put me on speaker." He says when I answer the call.

"Hello to you too, Stilinksi." I smirk and greet my long-lost friend. "Where are your manners?"

"Oh, I'm sorry m'lady, what was I thinking?" His sarcasm could be heard from miles away. "How are you doing? Have you been alright since you came back to our humble town and didn't even have the decency to talk to your best friend?"

Silence

"Speaker it is." I whisper sadly and hold my phone near the other two girls, hitting the speaker button.

"Scott's still hurt." Stiles says.

"What do you mean still? He's not healing?" Allison asks and I raise my eyebrows at them. I didn't even know Scott was hurt.

"Hurt?" I yell. "Scott is hurt and no one has the decency to tell me that?"

As usual, I'm ignored and Stiles keeps on explaining what's wrong with Scott. Without considering my question.

"No, and I think he's actually getting worse. The blood's turning black."

"Well, what's wrong with him?" Lydia asks, speaking for the first time.

"Do I have a Ph.D. in Lycanthropy? How should I know?" A huff is heard from Stiles.

"We have to get him off the bus."

"And take him where? A hospital?"

"If he's dying, yeah. Stiles, there's a rest area coming up in a mile. Tell Coach to pull over."

"I've been trying."

"Reason with him." Allison pleas.

"Reason? Have you met the guy?"

"Just try something." I yell and end the call. I wait a few seconds to speak again. "I think I know what's wrong with him."

"What?" Both girls look back at me, Allison almost crashing the car against the back of the bus.

"There's something wrong with them, everyone inside that bus... I just can't explain what it is."

•^•^•^•^•^•

Somehow, Stiles managed to stop the damn bus. When the doors open, he comes out holding a barely there Scott.

Being the only capable werewolf of the entire bus- because the twins and I aren't on speaking terms and Isaac and Boyd are going nuts- I carry Scott to the nearest restroom, located inside the small shop near the parking lot.

Stiles and Allison hurry after me while Lydia shuts and locks the door behind us.

Scott slumps down against the stained tile wall and his jacket falls open to reveal his bloody torso. I stay behind and let Allison look at his wound. Kneeling to him, Allison lifts his shirt and looks over the wounds.

"Oh God. Why didn't you tell us?"

"Sorry." Scott manages to say with a weak smile.

"Okay, just- give us a second." She pulls Stiles, Lydia and I aside to whisper. "This shouldn't be happening. I've seen him heal from worse than this."

"What do we do? Call an ambulance?" Stiles is panicking.

"What if they can't help? What if there's no time?" Allison, along with Stiles, are trembling from head to toe.

"We gotta' do something."

"The problem isn't physical..." I whisper and only Lydia hears me.

"Listen to Lou, she knows what she's talking about." Lydia reminds them. "She's a werewolf after all, she knows what this is."

"Do you?" Every eye falls on me, hope laced with Stiles' words.

"It's not physical, it's psychological."

"What do you mean? Like psychosomatic?" Stiles asks and I narrow my eyes at him.

"What are you talking about?" Shaking my head I focus. "Never mind, I don't need to know. Scott isn't healing because he believes the wound is worse than it really is and isn't letting his body heal."

Stiles and Allison's mouths hang open as they stare at me.

"I'm not as stupid as I look." I smirk. "We have to do something. Something to help him heal, it's all in his head. He isn't letting himself heal."

"Because of Derek. He's not letting himself heal because Derek died." Stiles' words hit the bottom of my heart like a sharp knife.

"What?" I stumble backwards and my back hits the tiled wall. "Derek is dead?"

"You didn't know?" Stiles grabs my arm and holds me against his body. "I'm so sorry..."

"W-when? Why! What?!" I yell and feel the tears forming behind my eyes, threatening to pour down my face.

"Calm down, I'll tell you later. Let's focus on Scott now." Stiles says and I look up at him.

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"Then what do we do?" Allison asks, interrupting our moment.

Lydia opens her purse and pulls out a travel sewing kit. "Stitch him up." The three of us stare at her like she's gone crazy. "I'm serious. Maybe all he has to do is believe it's healing."

We glance back to Scott. Breathing becoming more and more labored, he holds his hand tighter over his shirt, blood seeping between his fingers.

I close my eyes and take Stiles' off of my shoulders. Wiping the remaining tears off my eyes, I sit next to Scott and wait.

A lighter flame licks the tip of a sewing needle, sanitizing its point. Clicking the lighter off, Allison tosses it back to Lydia. Stiles pulls out every paper towel from the dispenser, surrounding Scott with them as Allison cleans the blood from the wounds.

"He's going to need another shirt. Where's his bag?" Allison asks as she gets ready to help Scott.

"I'll get it. I can't deal with needles anyway."He pauses at the door. "Lou come with me." Then turns to Allison after I stand next to him. "You know what you're doing, right?"

"My father taught me." Allison nods.

"How fast can you- I mean what if the bus- the bus could leave."

"Make sure it doesn't."

Lydia takes Stiles' hand and mine, tugging us out of the room. "I can help. Come on."

The door clatters shut behind us.

"Stay with me, okay?" Is the last thing I hear Allison whisper at Scott. Me being me, I close my eyes and grab Stiles' arm for support, mumbling my own words of support.

Don't leave me, Scott.

I open my eyes, feeling the familiar itch- meaning their turning red.

"Stiles..." I whisper, feeling the last hit of control slip from my body. "Run."

It only takes a second for both Lydia and Stiles to understand what I mean. They look at me and then at each other, sharing a scared glance. I close my eyes and start walking away from them, afraid of what I'll do if I don't put some distance between us.

"Lou." Someone whispers from behind me. I can't control myself anymore and turn around, claws in the air. "Calm down."

Looking into his eyes, I let my arms fall next to my body and bite my trembling lip. He opens his arms wide and I crash into his warm embrace.

"I'm sorry for leaving you." I whisper as his lips grace the top of my head, his nose leaving a trail down the side of my face.

"Don't worry about it, love." Isaac whispers back and I smile. He used to call me that. Before I left. "I know why you did it."

"You do?"

"You were trying to protect us."

"I was... But it didn't work. Now Anna and I are living with you and Scott, I'm always fearing for everyone's safety because of Deucalion. You're all in danger because of me. I'm a bad person, Isaac, I'm-"

My rant is interrupted by the blissful feeling of his eyes against mine. They caress my lips and warm them as Isaac bites my bottom lip. I sigh and wrap my arms around his shoulders, bringing him closer to me. At the same time, his arms find their way around my waist, no space between us.

"I-" Isaac starts in between kisses. "Love- You."

His mouth doesn't leave mine, and I'm glad he didn't stop kissing me because I don't even know what to answer. I know I like him- a lot- and I know I love him- possibly. But maybe this isn't right. I hurt him, why is he being so receptive and cool about it?

Ignoring the pessimist side of my mind that tells me to end the kiss and run away from him, I glue my lips against his as my hands run around his light locks.

His moan against my mouth is enough to set my body on fire. Something inside me snaps and Isaac wraps my own legs around his waist, my back slowly hitting a tree trunk. His hands explore every inch of my body and I moan. Then, realization hits me like a lightening.

"We have to stop." Isaac groans when I end the kiss. "I want this as much as you do but this isn't the moment."

"We share a bed, we can always do it later." Isaac winks at me and I feel my cheeks turn a bright shade of red. "Come on, let's go back."

Guiding me to the already full bus, Isaac plants small kisses on my head. We enter he bus and Coach doesn't even glance at me as he waves for us to find empty seats so we can finish the damn ride and go back home.

Isaac and I sit side by side on the bus. As always, I can't have a moment of peace and happiness without feeling odd and uncomfortable. Maybe because there are a few eyes on my back, all of the glaring at me.

And the feeling that something horrible is about to happen is also ruining my mood and the moment.

I shake my head and lean it on Isaac's shoulder, feeling his arms around me. I've never felt so safe, even with these uneasy feelings fighting inside my being.

I'll let them fight. I couldn't care less right now. Just let me enjoy my time with those I love the most. Because Derek is already out.

I'm next.
