Note: Ok so although I intended to post a much longer update, since some of you are impatient(i love u for it by the way hehe), I decided to post what I've written so far as the new chapter. The rest will be posted as the next chapter once I write. :-)

Bai Luo Yin decided to take the next two days to think more about his decision, given that Shi Hui was only starting school there from next month onward. However it kept his mind occupied almost the entire time during school.

"...Helloooo.. earth to Bai Luo Yin!" Someone's voice was followed by a palm waving in front of his eyes.

He looked up to see Ming Shu observing him. "uh.. what?"

"I said.., so Gu Hai isn't leaving after all.." Ming Shu repeated.

Bai Luo Yin turned to the side to see Gu Hai watching them. They barely got to talk that day before school started as Bai Luo Yin was late. Now even before they could talk, Ming Shu was there making small talk.

"Are you informing me or asking me? Bai Luo Yin said.

"Hmmm.. that depends." Ming Shu said slyly.

His phone buzzed suddenly.

Bai Luo Yin sneakily looked up to ensure that Ming Shu didn't see the text. He hadn't. He was just staring back expecting his response.

"Depends on what..?"

Ming Shu sneakily shifted his gaze between Bai Luo Yin and Gu Hai as if to insinuate something. He only gave a smile in return before walking away as the teacher entered the class.

That day once the school ended, the two boys left the class together, side by side.

Gu Hai turned to look at Bai Luo Yin as they walked. "So.. I talked to the principal and explained that I changed my mind"

Bai Luo Yin smiled but didn't fail to sense the response that was demanded.

Gu Hai suddenly stopped and reached out a hand to touch Bai Luo Yin's chin. He brushed his thumb over a small cut that was barely visible. "How'd you get this?"

"Guess.." Bai Luo Yin responded. He knew that it had to be obvious.

Gu Hai 's gaze softened. "Be more careful when you shave." His thumb was still brushing the spot.

Bai Luo Yin suddenly felt nervous as they were still in school after all. Aren't you just looking for an excuse to touch me? His eyes screamed.

I am. And you love it. Gu Hai's eyes spoke in response.

"Ahem.." Somebody cleared his throat breaking their trance.

They both turned to find Ming Shu awkwardly standing there with a few books in hand. Gu Hai's hand involuntarily came back to rest on his side.

"Here, the notes from the classes you missed." Ming Shu handed the books to Bai Luo Yin.

"Oh.. thank you" Bai Luo Yin smiled as he accepted the books and started going through them to check the extent he missed.

This gave Ming Shu the opportunity to find Gu Hai staring daggers at him, standing closer to Bai Luo Yin than he was just seconds ago. Ming Shu's demeanor transformed to mirror Gu Hai's.

Gu Hai raised his eyebrows at him as if to ask 'why are you still here?'

Ming Shu didn't flinch. "Let me know if you need any help." He said to Bai Luo Yin who finally looked up.

"Sure. I'll return these on Monday" Bai Luo Yin said still oblivious to the tension in the air.

"Oh.." Ming Shu said as a thought occurred to him. "Give uncle Bai my regards." He added.

Bai Luo Yin nodded with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Ming Shu subtly glanced at Gu Hai before walking away.

"He knows your father?" Gu Hai inquired tensely.

'Here we go'. Thought Bai Luo Yin. "Yeah he met him once." He replied casually starting to walk.

"How?"

"He had to stay over at my place once." Bai Luo Yin continued to stick to his new policy of being truthful.

Gu Hai's steps came to a halt abruptly. "How come he got to stay over but I never did?!" His face had the look of a kid whose favorite toy was stolen.

"Long story." Bai Luo Yin replied dismissively.

"I've got time"

"His folks were out of town once and he had lost the spare key he was given. So he needed a place to stay that night." Bai Luo Yin explained starting to get annoyed.

"Where'd he sleep?"

"Really? Aren't you being silly?"

"The question still stands!"

"My room"

Gu Hai grabbed his ankle making him stop. Bai Luo Yin found the grave expression on his face hilarious.

He pursed his lips to suppress the laugh that threatened to escape. Gu Hai's expression remained the same.

"And I slept in my dad's room." He offered finally.

Without another word, they both left the school premises together.

They had agreed to meet up for their date near the eatery where they once had breakfast at. Initially Gu Hai had insisted he should come to Bai Luo Yin's place and pick him up, which of course he rejected straight away. Despite Gu Hai's best efforts to convince Bai Luo Yin to let him do so, he had to end up agreeing to this.

It was around 6.30PM when Bai Luo Yin arrived at the spot to find Gu Hai's car. Upon seeing Bai Luo Yin, he made it a point to get out.

"You're late." He said without putting much weight into the words. Bai Luo Yin just smiled.

Gu Hai started walking towards the other door. "Hey stop, are you going to open the door for me?" Bai Luo Yin quickly inquired.

Without a word Gu Hai did exactly that and gestured for Bai Luo Yin to get in. Bai Luo Yin didn't move and instead watched him with a steely look in his eyes.

"Get in please" Gu Hai said politely.

"Then close the door." Bai Luo Yin snapped.

"I will after you get in."

"Just close it., I can open it myself and get in."

Gu Hai giggled. "Now who's the silly one?"

Bai Luo Yin's glare remained.

"OK look since it's already open, just get in. How about this, I'll even let you close it yourself" Gu Hai said trying hard to hide a smirk. Bai Luo Yin was still silent. Gu Hai slowly walked to his side and got in.

Finally Bai Luo Yin walked to the open door. He closed it, waited for a few seconds and then opened and got in.

Even after Bai Luo Yin had settled in comfortably, Gu Hai watched him awestruck. "You're really something." He grinned.

After driving for several minutes Bai Luo Yin broke the silence. "So where are we going?"

"Somewhere nice and quiet. You'll see."

A half hour drive brought them to their destination. There was an array of small venues along the road. Gu Hai led them to one dimly lit venue with a name written in English.

"It's an Italian restaurant." Gu Hai said as they walked in and Bai Luo Yin quietly followed him inside.

Bai Luo Yin took in the cozy interior with only a handful of people enjoying their meals.

"Gu Hai! You're here! It's so lovely to see you." The cheerful voice of a foreign middle aged woman walking towards them caught his attention. Bai Luo Yin was impressed by how fluent she was in Chinese.

"Luisa. It's been a while". Gu Hai greeted back smiling warmly.

"Um..this is Bai Luo Yin and Bai Luo Yin this is Luisa, she's the owner of this place."

Bai Luo Yin exchanged greetings with Luisa.

"I used to come here with my mom on Friday nights." Gu Hai explained to Bai Luo Yin while the woman nodded smiling.

"You haven't brought anyone here since..." she let the words fade.

An awkward silence followed. She quickly cleared her throat. "Ok go and get settled I will bring out the menus." She smiled.

"Come on." Gu Hai started walking towards the opposite side. There was a door to slide and enter a small patio. That is when Bai Luo Yin realized that it's a riverside venue.

The breathtaking hues of the evening sky perfectly complemented the tranquility of the river. A chilly breeze swept past them as they sat down at one small table which had a small beautifully lit lamp as the centerpiece.

Bai Luo Yin leisurely marveled at the view. "This is really nice." He said smiling and without taking his eyes off the surroundings. Gu Hai's eyes followed his as he nodded.

"I've never dined outside here. We always just stayed inside. ..me and mom."

Bai Luo Yin turned to look at him. "Guess you have a lot of fond memories made here." He said softly.

Gu Hai nodded sorrowfully staring at a distance.

"And I'm ready to make some new ones." He said finally looking at Bai Luo Yin.

If he noticed a slight blush on Bai Luo Yin's neck, he didn't say anything. He kept watching the boy until their eyes finally met. He slowly reached out his left hand and opened his palm. Bai Luo Yin stiffened, at a loss for what to do.

"Nobody will come out here. I called in advance and reserved this entire section."

"What?" Bai Luo Yin then realized he shouldn't have expected anything less. This was Gu Hai after all.

"Give me your hand." He said, having not moved his outstretched hand.

This time Bai Luo Yin slowly extended his right hand and placed his palm over Gu Hai's. Without a moment's hesitation Gu Hai gently held it, not breaking their eye contact. His thumb softly brushed Bai Luo Yin's fingers. They felt a distinct warmth filling their hearts. Despite their silence, their gaze and body language spoke volumes.

The sound of the door being opened made Bai Luo Yin almost jolt and he immediately withdrew his hand. Luisa walked over. "Here are the menus. Sorry for the slight delay." She smiled warmly.

They went through the menu and Bai Luo Yin requested Gu Hai to choose for him as well as he had not tried Italian food before. After Luisa left with their orders, Gu Hai spoke.

"Why'd you get scared?" he asked smiling.

"Because she would have seen...you know"

Gu Hai scoffed. "You really think she doesn't know that we're on a date?.. you're adorable." They had been sitting on chairs on the opposite sides of the table that allowed them to face each other. However Gu Hai swiftly moved to the chair next to Bai Luo Yin's, to sit closer to him at a 90 degree angle.

Bai Luo Yin was lost in thought.

"Don't worry so much. She's Italian.., she's not close minded." Gu Hai said leaning in.

Bai Luo Yin still refused to turn and look at him. Gu Hai kept watching him with his face placed on his bent left hand.

"Are you having second thoughts..?" Gu Hai asked finally.

Bai Luo Yin immediately turned to find Gu Hai still watching him.

"No. Gu Hai., it's not like that. It's just....it's all so new to me.."

"You think it isn't for me?" Gu Hai asked, his voice barely audible. "If you need ..like...more time just tell me.. but Yin Zi...I'm in.. I'm all in." . He added, his eyes reflecting his vulnerability.

Bai Luo Yin was speechless. This time for a different reason.

Next thing Gu Hai saw was Bai Luo Yin drawing close and sealing their lips. It was a gentle and fleeting kiss. A kiss of promise. A kiss which ended as soon as it begun. Their eyes remained closed for a moment longer.

Luisa stood rooted to the spot near the door with their orders in hand, unsure whether it was okay to interrupt their moment. Since Bai Luo Yin was facing the opposite side, she could only see Gu Hai's demeanor properly. She recalled the cheeky little boy he used to be, stealing his mother's food instead of finishing his own and the carefree attitude he embraced once he became a teenager. Now here he was, wearing his heart on his sleeve, with a serious expression she had never seen on him before, apart from when his mother passed away. The truth was, she didn't have the heart to intrude this beautiful moment that she felt lucky to be witnessing. She almost felt guilty for staring, but the order wasn't going to deliver itself.

Gu Hai was so engrossed in Bai Luo Yin that he still failed to notice her standing there. He slowly leaned in until their foreheads touched, as one hand touched the other boy's left cheek. Luisa smiled fondly. 'This boy's a goner'. Bai Luo Yin leaned into the touch while his left hand reached up and touched Gu Hai's.

Upon noticing new customers coming in, Luisa decided to finish her task.

Both boys heard the nearing footsteps and looked up.

"Here you go boys." She said putting on act of being oblivious to their moment.

They thanked her at once.

"Enjoy!" She said, sneakily winking at Gu Hai before walking away. Gu Hai grinned knowingly.

Having finished their dinner, they had just got into Gu Hai's car parked in a dark corner. It was barely past 8:00PM. Gu Hai watched Bai Luo Yin sporting his cold expression again looking away from him.

"Come on, are you really still mad at me for paying? I asked you out, so it's my treat."

No reaction.

"Ok fine. Next time you pay." Gu Hai smiled cheekily.

Bai Luo Yin turned finally. "IF there is a next time." He said to provoke the other.

"You!' Gu Hai pinched Bai Luo Yin's waist, once, twice, thrice.

Bai Luo Yin couldn't stop his giggles. "Stop.." He managed to utter.

Gu Hai was relentless as he continued with the torture. The ticklishness made Bai Luo Yin tear up. Gu Hai's hands finally ceased their movement while his mouth neared Bai Luo Yin ear and gently bit his earlobe. Bai Luo Yin shivered. Gu Hai's lips brushed his cheek, leaving feather-light kisses in their wake. Noticing Bai Luo Yin's breath hitch, he placed a hand on the boy's neck and slowly slid it down towards his collarbone, chest and further down just as his lips descended towards his lips. As his hand made its way under Bai Luo Yin's shirt to touch the warm, bare skin of his stomach, their lips perfectly aligned for a kiss

"Let's go to my place." Gu Hai whispered against Bai Luo Yin's lips, grazing his bare skin enticingly.

"Mmm.." Bai Luo Yin bit his lower lip, daring Gu Hai to keep trying to convince him.

Gu Hai swallowed, accepting the challenge. His fingers started playing with Bai Luo Yin's belt.

With no warning Bai Luo Yin suddenly grabbed Gu Hai's neck and bit his Adam's apple.

Gu Hai groaned like an awakened beast. "You want me to do you right here ha?". He firmly gripped Bai Luo Yin's waist with his hand under the shirt.

Bai Luo Yin smirked. "My dad's waiting. Let's go."

Gu Hai watched him in disbelief. "Your plan is to tease me to death isn't it?"

In all honestly, Bai Luo Yin was actually nervous regarding what would happen if he was to go back with Gu Hai to his place.

"Good things are worth waiting for." Bai Luo Yin said, hesitantly removing Gu Hai's hand from his waist.

Gu Hai clenched his jaw. "Have you any idea how long I've waited ha?!" he said. "I've dreamt about it more times than I can count!"

"Then wait some more."

"......"
