AFTER THE eventful week Kailani and the rest of the pack have gone through with Derek being taken by Kate and the Berserkers.

Derek being young again and seduced by the psycho blonde Argent to lead her into the Hale vault to gain control of her new supernatural powers.

To Kailani, Malia and Scott fighting the berserkers in the school resulting in Derek in his teenage form to come and protect his little sister and transform back into his adult self.

Only for his werewolf side to act up causing his eyes to glow a golden colour instead of their piercing blue.

Kailani was already exhausted would be an understatement but one thing she'd admit was she is looking forward to watching Stiles and Scott practice lacrosse together.

While sitting beside Malia and Kira in the stands while the two older girl support their boyfriends.

The tribrid teenager smiles and waves at Kira and Malia who's currently studying for some of the upcoming classes of this semester before their senior year.

Scott and Stiles walk towards the lacrosse field seeing Kailani waiting for them beside the stands.

"Of course you're still the team captain. You got your grades up. Just like Coach told you to. Right?" Stiles questions carrying on with their conversation.

Quickly embracing Kailani in a tight embrace since she views Stiles and Scott as her older brothers alongside her actual biological brother.

"Yeah. But he never told me I was back on the team. He just told me to show up at try-outs today." Scott mumbles still a little confused if his on the team and said team captain.

"We got bigger things to deal with anyway. Did you tell Argent yet?" Stiles quizzes.

"Uh, I texted him. Be he didn't get back to me." Scott mumurs seeing Kailani share a look with Stiles shocked at the fact Scott messaged Argent instead of calling him.

"Wait. You told him his sister Kate came back from the dead over a text?" Kailani repeats making sure she heard that correctly.

"Kal, I didn't have the money to call France." Scott sheepishly states, "Yeah. You think you got money problems? Try paying for an MRI and a visit to Eichen House." Stiles voices with a sigh.

"Another notice?" Scott asks, "Yeah. This one said final." Stiles mutters looking around the field with a confused look.

"Now, what the hell are we doing here, anyway? We got like, one hundred and seventeen million problems, and worrying about our status on the lacrosse team is not one of them." Stiles voices in a little bit of a ramble.

Scott notices Kailani staring at something- more so someone on the field making all of the shots aimed at them, "It is now." Scott exclaims gesturing to the field.

Stiles turns around watching the same thing Scott and Kailani are in absolute shock seeing how well the player is doing, "Who the hell is that?" Stiles questions astonished.

"Oh. That's Liam! He just transferred from some snotty school. He's in my classes." Kailani explains with a shrug seeing the looks Scott and Stiles are giving her.

"Nice, Liam! You might just be our first-ever freshman captain." Garrett-another player exclaims with a smile plastered on his face seeing Liam taking the helmet off.

"Okay. Maybe we should just practice a little bit." Stiles suggests pushing Scott and himself on the field leaving Kailani smirking at them from the stands.

Kailani walks into the corridor of the school seeing Scott and Kira standing beside Kira's locker talking about something.

Kailani frowns hearing and feeling her phone vibrating in her pocket seeing a text from Derek stating they agreed to paying Braeden to help them find Kate.

Scott notices Kailani walking towards them with a worried look on her face, "Hey Kal. You okay?" Scott frowns.

"Hmm? Oh yeah." Kailani nods with a fake smile on her face seeing Scott tilting his head not believing the brunette.

Kailani sighs showing the McCall boy her phone and the message from her older brother with a pout.

Stiles rushes towards them seeing the young fifteen year old stood beside Scott and Kira explaining what he got on his phone during math class.

"An axe-murderer?" Kira questions, "A family-murdering axe-murderer!" Stiles exclaims, "I already heard about it." Scott explains.

"Wait, what? You did? How?" Stiles asks frowning, "My mom called me. She knew we'd see it on the news." Scott says.

"Perfect! Let's go!" Stiles suggests motioning for them to follow him, "Whoa, whoa. We've got Econ in five minutes." Scott voices.

"All right. Did you forget the part about the family-murdering axe-murderer?" Stiles quizzes.

"Did you forget your dad's the sheriff? They want us to stay out of it." Kailani states with a shrug even though she's the youngest of the pack sometimes she feels like she's the smartest.

"Are you guys kidding me? There's a family-murdering axe-murderer and we're not going to do anything about it?" Stiles asks incredulously.

"Maybe we should just let the adults handle it." Kira suggests seeing Kailani nod agreeing with her.

"Exactly. I mean, come on Stiles." Kailani mumbles seeing Stiles glaring at them in disbelief.

"So, the three of you... you just want to stay here at school and go to class?" Stiles quizzes receiving nods from the three of them and an eye roll from the Hale teenager.

"Never heard anything so irresponsible in my life!" Stiles scoffs turning around and walking away from them.

"See you at tryouts?" Scott shouts with a wince knowing he annoyed his best friend who puts his thumb up towards them while continuing walking away from the three of them.

Kailani gawks at Scott seeing him lean in and kiss Kira's lips before he playfully messing up Kailani's hair resulting in a glare from the Hale girl.

"Oh. So that happened?" Kailani giggles seeing Kira's shocked face nodding at her.

"Get it, girly." Kailani states walking off towards her next class that happens to with Mason-one of her best friends and the new kid Liam Dunbar before sitting with Malia and Kira while the tryouts happen outside.

MALIA, KIRA and Kailani take their seats while the lacrosse team run laps around the field huffing due to being unfit or not use to the workout.

Kailani's eyes widen seeing Liam doing pushups in the middle of the collapsed teenagers on the field.

"He isn't human! What is he? Like, a Werecheetah? Does that even exist? Is that a thing?" Stiles questions while deeply breathing.

"I think he's just good." Scott responds with a shrug seeing Kailani smirking at them from the stands.

"I'm gonna puke. Take me somewhere." Stiles demands panting while Kailani chuckles overhearing that due to her supernatural hearing and turning to face Kira sensing the anxiety radiating off her.

"What's wrong with you?" Malia questions suddenly sensing the same thing, "Me? Nothing." Kira voices.

"You reek of anxiety and it's distracting. What's going on?" Malia asks, "Is this about what happened in the corridor earlier?" Kailani quizzes.

Kira nods sucking in a deep breath, "Scott and I sort-of had this thing happen but it wasn't much of a thing and I'm starting to think it never was anything at all." Kira nervously vents.

"What do you want it to be?" Malia wonders curiously, "More." Kira mutters seeing Kailani and Malia smirk at one another.

"So after practice, make it more." Kailani suggests with a shrug noticing Liam smiling at her from the field.

"Looks like someone might have a crush." Malia says playfully hitting Kailani's shoulder with her own.

"What? Huh? No way." Kailani denies with a blush on her cheeks.

After a while of passing the ball to one another Coach demands loudly with the blow of his whistle to get into a line to start aiming the ball at the goals.

Stiles goes first tossing the ball straight into the goalies racket and receiving a smirk from Liam who's stood behind him.

Liam dosses the ball into the goal making a perfect shot while Kailani watches the shock show on both Stiles and Scott's faces seeing how good this teenage boy is at lacrosse.

"I hate this kid. I hate him." Stiles scoffs, "You don't have to hate him. The team needs new players." Scott mumbles.

"What about a new team captain?" Stiles quizzes receiving a look from Scott.

Kailani sighs knowing this part is probably gonna turn out messy.

Just as Kailani guessed Scott missed the shot and hit the pole on the net receiving laughs from the team minus Stiles.

"Nice, McCall!" Garrett sarcastically mutters with a smug smile, "Hey Garrett, shut up!" Stiles snaps looking at the teenager who pisses him off standing with his friends.

"Isn't the team captain supposed to be one of the best players on the team? Or good?" Kira questions after a few rounds on the ball being tossed and missed by Scott.

"He doesn't want to cheat." Kailani voices looking at Malia and Kira before tuning into Stiles and Scott's conversation on the field.

"Dude, what is going on with you?" Stiles asks, "I don't know, I'm having a really off-day." Scott responds with a huff.

"Off-day? You were dying out there! I feel actual physical pain watching you." Stiles responds.

"I didn't see you make any shots." Scott responds offended, "Yes, that's because I'm terrible, though, Scott! You-you are the alpha." Stiles mutters.

"Not on the field. I'm a human on the field." Scott responds, "Well, human-you is kind of sucking at the moment. So, do you think there is any way you can use just, like, a little tiny bit of wolf power?" Stiles quizzes.

"It's cheating." Scott mumbles, "I know it is! It's just, I hate seeing this little freshman come in and steal all your glory after you worked your tushie off! I hate it!" Stiles states.

"He's not going to steal all the glory." Scott states in denial, Liam manages to get another shot while the two boys are talking hearing the team players cheering for the Dunbar boy.

"Use your powers, Scottie." Kailani whispers under her breath knowing the true alpha can hear her.

Stiles looks over at Kailani, Malia and Kira noticing Kailani nodding at Scott seeing his eyes beginning to glow red.

Coach blows the whistle motioning to all of the players to get into a half circle.

"Hustle!" Coach exclaims while the team circles around him to hear the set out plan.

"McCall and Stilinski, grab the long sticks! You're covering goal for two-on-ones" Coach orders.

Scott and Stiles do as told getting into position, "We still don't know if he's a werewolf and if he is. He'd just be cheating, and we'd just be cheating the cheater." Stiles voices.

"But he's not. I'd know- I'd be able to catch a scent or something, so would Kal and she's in his classes." Scott explains.

"Maybe you need to get closer." Stiles suggests, "I think I'm about to get my chance." Scott responds seeing Liam putting on his helmet.

Scott and Stiles both get the upper hand on some of their teammates with the guarding the goal.

Although Liam breaks the streak of them getting the upper hand and manages to slip by quickly tossing the ball into the goal gaining another point.

"That's how you do it! That's how it's done!" Coach shouts happily, Kailani groans seeing the cockiness coming out of some of the players including Liam.

"That was luck!" Malia exclaims standing up after seeing the annoyed looks on Kira and Kailani's faces, "Oh, no. Malia, don't get involved. Stop her Lani!" Stiles mutters under his breath.

Kailani folds her arms over her chest standing up beside the werecoyote, "Do-over!" Malia demands.

"Sweetheart, there are no do-overs. This is a practice." Coach condescendingly responds.

"Oh really? Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles!" Kailani states betting on her two older brother figures seeing the look of horror cross over Stiles's face.

"I'll take that action, little Hale!" Coach nods facing the field once more.

"Hey! Get back in there, Liam!" Coach demands signalling another round for Liam or Scott and Stiles to win blowing the whistle.

Kailani continues standing after hearing a low growl rumble from Scott's mouth.

Sending Liam into the ground with a loud bone crunch, "Holy shit." Kailani winces seeing Liam withering in pain on the grass.

"Don't move! Don't touch him!" Coach exclaims running towards the injured boy.

"I'm okay, Coach. I'm all right," Liam groans trying to stand up only to fall with a loud grunt screaming from the pain in his leg.

"I think it's my leg." Liam whimpers while Scott and Stiles hold him up off the leg.

"I think we better get him to the nurse." Stiles suggests seeing Coach nod agreeing with the Stilinski boy.

"You guys take a lap! Run around! Start running around the field!" Coach yells angrily in which the rest of the players listen running away from the male throwing a temper tantrum.

"Stupid!" Coach grunts throwing a ball in the direction of Malia and Kailani.

Kailani squeaks feeling the wind from the ball in her face seeing the racket catching the incoming ball and stopping it from hitting Malia.

"Oh, wow! Nice catch! Throw it back!" Coach demands holding his hands up impressed with Kira reflexes.

Kira stands up tossing the ball towards Coach hitting in the torso where the arrow hit months ago sending him into a crouching position with a startled groan.

"Oh, my god!" Kira exclaims shocked, "Someone ask her if she's ever played lacrosse!" Coach suggests with a wheeze from the sudden pain.

KIRA AND Kailani wait in the hall seated on the staircase waiting for Scott and Stiles hoping for an update on the Dunbar boy.

Well more Kailani wanting updates on the Dunbar boy and Kira looking at the jersey she currently has placed in her lap since she's now on the lacrosse team.

Scott walks towards the two girls, "Hey, sorry about all that. We're taking Liam to the hospital. It might be a sprain. It could also be a break." Scott explains.

"It's okay. I get it. We can talk later?" Kira suggests receiving a nod from the McCall boy.

"And I'm sorry about before. Before, before? When I did that thing in the hallway?" Scott nervously rambles.

"It's fine, totally okay." Kira responds with an awkward smile.

"I didn't mean to make things awkward, or weird. Really, I'm sorry." Scott explains motioning for Kailani to grab her stuff so she can get a lift home after the hospital.

Kailani scoffs coming to a stop getting a confused look off the McCall boy, "How oblivious can you be?" Kailani questions.

"Huh?" Scott frowns, "Go kiss her, you dumb-dumb!" Kailani orders pushing Scott towards the area Kira currently is.

Scott chuckles and nods rushing off to get his girl while Kailani walks towards the nurses office seeing Liam and Stiles waiting for them.

Liam winces while Stiles practically drags him out of the school, "Stiles! Stop, you're hurting the boy. Here let me." Kailani states taking over and walking slowly with the injured Dunbar boy who exhales in relief.

"Thank you." Liam mumbles shyly, "Not a problem at all." Kailani smiles opening the passenger door of Stiles's jeep helping Liam sit in the seat receiving an annoyed look from Stiles in the drivers seat.

"Stiles, he has a possible break to the leg and you expect him to sit in the crowded backseat?" Kailani mutters with a glare.

"Right." Stiles sighs with a huff while Scott gets into the backseat beside Kailani frowning seeing the boy in the passenger seat.

"Don't start. You'll get a mouth full off this one. Sometimes I forget you're a Hale, Lani." Stiles mutters.

Kailani smirks sitting forward in her seat and noticing the blush on Scott's cheeks.

"Oh my god! You actually did it and didn't back out!" Kailani exclaims happily for her brother figure who shrinks under all of the spotlight but remains smiling while driving to the hospital.

Kailani glares at Stiles standing beside her trying to help Liam get out of the jeep.

"No. You drag him everywhere, I'll help him. Just go inside and get Melissa." Kailani demands smiling at Liam's relieved face seeing Scott and Stiles rush into the emergency department looking for Melissa.

Liam limps into the emergency department with Kailani helping him keep the weight off his possible broken leg.

"Uh hi, Mom." Scott greets seeing Melissa looking at the two of them with a sigh seeing Kailani smiling at her mother figure motioning to the wheelchair.

Liam smiles at Kailani once she helps him hop into the said wheelchair, "Thanks Kailani." Liam mumbles.

"All good, Liam." Kailani responds, "Don't worry, Liam, we'll take good care of you." Melissa voices wheeling Liam into a separate room to do tests on the injured leg.

"I got to get going. I promised Malia I'd help her study." Stiles explains.

"Sure, I want to check on him, anyway. Kal, you right staying here for a while?" Scott asks looking at the brunette sitting the chairs.

"Yeah, I'm all good." Kailani responds with a tired smile, "Hey, I don't need to say that it wasn't your fault, right?" Stiles quizzes seeing the guilty look on Scott's face, "I don't know." Scott shrugs.

"Scott, if you had used any wolf power, that kid wouldn't be limping, he'd be crawling back to the other half of his body!" Stiles mutters.

"If I hadn't been so worried about being captain, he wouldn't be hurt, either." Scott responds lowly.

"It's okay to want something for yourself once in a while Scottie." Kailani voices feeling the guilt and sadness radiating from Scott's body.

"Team captain. Alpha werewolf. You're still only human." Stiles says patting Scott's shoulder before leaving the McCall boy and Hale girl in the emergency department to head home and study with Malia.

Kailani walks down the corridor leading towards Liam's hospital room since Melissa told her the number on the door incase she wants to visit and check on Liam.

"It's broken, isn't it?" Liam sadly asks, "It's definitely going to need an X-ray." Dr Geyer responds.

"It's broken and it's my fault." Liam mumbles, "You want to tell me what happened?" Dr Geyer questions.

"I went up against two juniors. One of them is captain of the team. I also wanted to impress someone in my class, she was at practice." Liam explains.

"Remember what we always say? Play smart, not hard." Dr Geyer responds with a smile knowing about Kailani waiting in the hall.

"Are you mad at me?" Liam quizzes after a while of silence, "No, of course not! Your mom might be mad at me for getting you into lacrosse. But maybe we should both wait for the x-ray before we panic. And, trust me, I have more reason to panic than you. It's not over yet, wait for that X-ray." Dr Geyer suggests walking out of the room smiling at Kailani and nodding that she can go in.

"Hi." Kailani greets lowly seeing Liam staring at his leg sadly, "Hi." Liam responds sitting up a little more straight seeing Kailani motioning to the seat beside the gurney.

Liam nods allowing Kailani to sit beside him.

Unaware of Scott outside the room contemplating coming into the school to check on the Dunbar boy.

Only for Lydia to call him with a warning about one of the patients staying within the hospital.

Kailani smiles looking at Liam, "So, how long have you been playing lacrosse?" Kailani quizzes.

"Since I was little. My stepfather got me into it. He's also my doctor." Liam explains with a chuckle.

The two go back and forth asking each other questions before Kailani shoots off her chair hearing a loud growl underneath the floor herself and Liam are currently on.

Immediately knowing the growl as Scott's and hearing Melissa screaming downstairs before hurried footsteps are heard rushing away from the woman.

Scott makes sure his mother's okay and not injured, just covered in the deputy's blood from inside the room.

Liam limps out of the room standing in the corridor confused seeing Kailani standing in front of him protectively sensing a threat coming towards them.

Kailani turns around to face the other direction the world around her fades into black managing to hear Liam's pleading screams from beside her.

Kailani groans blinking away the grogginess seeing Liam being held against his will and Scott holding onto his arms helping him from falling off the side of the hospital building.

"I can't hold on!" Liam yells scared out of his mind, Kailani grunts trying to stand up but falls backwards feeling a wave of dizziness rush over her from being knocked unconscious by Sean.

"No!" Kailani exclaims seeing Liam slipping from Scott's crib, Scott looks at Kailani making his final decision plunging his canines into Liam's arm biting into his skin.

Before a gurgle sound is heard coming from Sean who's spitting out his own blood and falling dead on the cement ground.

"I've got you." Kailani says helping Liam off the side of the building falling beside him watching him look at the bite mark on his arm grunting in pain.

Scott looks from Kailani to Liam in shock realising what he just did, hoping and praying he hasn't just ruined a fifteen year olds life.

Kailani shakes her head and immediately snaps into motion ripping off some of her jumper and wrapping Liam's arm to stop the bleeding from the werewolf bite.
