OVER THE past few days, Kailani's been spending most of her time either with Derek and Braeden at the hospital since the mercenary was shot and left for dead with the rest of Satomi's pack.

The older werewolf found them in the hospital due to another member of her pack dying violently in the morgue of the hospital.

Kailani also found out that her friends were locked inside the high school with an infectious virus spreading around. Another assassin hoping to kill her friends.

She also found out through Noah that Scott's father was the one who took the assassin─ who was faking being a teacher to spread the virus out by shooting him in the head.

Stiles was nearly caught in the crossfire though but was saved by said man.

In the middle of everything though, Kailani heard from Malia after the assassin was killed and the were-coyote murmured something about the two of them being related. Which didn't shock Kailani much.

The girl always has been spending most of her time growing closer to Liam and spending time with Mason despite the secret both Liam and her are hiding from the boy.

A few days later, Scott and the others stand in the middle of the McCall house forming a plan for the next few days.

"Is three enough?" Kira questions looking at the MacBooks placed on the kitchen table.

"Depends on how many cameras they have. But I think so." Stiles responds.

"Are we really doing this?" Liam nervously asks looking around at the others noticing Kailani scowling at Scott─ still not liking a massive part of the plan.

"We're doing it─ tonight." Scott firmly states ignoring Kailani's scowl.

"But isn't it kind of dangerous?" Liam wonders, "It's incredibly dangerous and borderline idiotic." Stiles mutters.

"I don't like this plan." Kailani states speaking up after a while of her scowling contest with the true alpha across from her.

"Have you guys done something like this before?" Liam questions.

"Something dangerous? Or something idiotic?" Stiles quizzes making Kailani roll her eyes annoyed.

"I think it's a yes to both." Kira says looking at Liam who sighs nervously.

"You don't have to be part of it if you don't want to. Neither do you, Lani." Scott states.

"I'm not letting you idiots─ minus Kira do this stupid plan alone." Kailani exclaims.

"I'm not scared!" Liam states receiving a look from Kailani and the others.

"Then you're borderline idiotic." Stiles states looking at Liam with a playful shrug.

"If we do this, we don't know what's coming for us. You know that, right?" Stiles asks suddenly sounding a bit anxious.

"How do we know something's definitely coming?" Kira inquires looking at Scott beside her.

"Because the tape from Garrett's bag said 'visual confirmation required.'" Scott explains.

"Simon said the same thing. He couldn't get paid by the Benefactor until he had proof that you guys were dead." Stiles murmurs.

"I still cannot believe you had a gun aimed at your fucking head and I had to hear it from your dad!" Kailani irritably scoffs.

"Sorry." Stiles mumbles gently rubbing Kailani's shoulder.

"So, the idea is─ what if you kill someone on the Deadpool, but you can't send the proof?" Scott quizzes.

"You don't get paid." Kailani and Kira simultaneously respond resulting in them winking at each other.

"But how does that get us any closer to the Benefactor?" Liam wonders.

"He still needs to know if the target is really dead." Scott says.

"Especially if it's someone high on the list. And no, Kailani─ you're not changing the plan." Stiles firmly orders looking at the girl.

"But I'm the highest on the list?" Kailani suggests, "Not happening, Lani." Scott firmly mutters agreeing with Stiles.

Kailani growls at the both of them especially with the playing the older brother cards.

She's already got one annoying older brother, she doesn't need two more.

"I also agree," Liam voices looking at Kailani already noticing her shocked look.

"Awh. You're worried about me." Kailani smirks making Stiles and Scott clear their throats interrupting the teen's tension while Kira smiles sensing something between the werewolf and tribrid.

"So, if he wants visual confirmation..." Liam mumbles trailing off while looking at Kailani─ who's only looking at Scott with a worried look present on her face.

"He's going to have to come himself." Scott states finishing Liam's sentence.

"I still fucking hate this plan." Kailani mutters walking off and away from the others not wanting to show them the angry but worried expression on her face.

An hour later, Kailani is stood beside Liam in Scott's bedroom awaiting for the nightmare to begin.

"Are you guys totally sure about this?" Liam anxiously questions while pacing beside Kailani.

"I think Liam's kind of nervous. Maybe you should tell him it's going to be all right." Kira suggests looking at her boyfriend lying on his bed, "It's going to be all right." Scott says.

"That's fucking believable." Kailani scoffs making Scott tilt his head at her silently telling her to shut up for the sake of Liam beside her.

"So, you've done this before, right?" Liam asks looking at Noshiko─ Kira's mother on the opposite side of Kira.

"I've seen it done." Noshiko explains making both Kailani and Liam share a nervous look with one another.

"Is that just as good?" Liam nervously questions, "No." Noshiko firmly states.

"Mom, you're not inspiring confidence." Kira exclaims just as nervous as Liam and Kailani.

"Good! This is a terrible idea." Noshiko mutters looking at her daughter, "Do you want us to do it without you?" Kira questions.

"No. Please, no." Kailani mumbles wanting someone who's at least seen this ritual happen be in the room with them.

"Put your hand over his heart." Noshiko demands directing Kira to place her hand on Scott's chest while Kailani fiddles nervously.

"Hold on─ what happens while I'm out? Am I gonna feel anything?" Scott inquiries looking at the older Kitsune.

"It might feel like you're dreaming." Noshiko explains, "Good dreams, or bad?" Scott wonders.

"I suppose that's up to you." Noshiko states making Scott sigh anxiously before lying back down flatly on his back.

"I can't─ I can't watch this. I'm sorry." Kailani states shaking her head rushing out of Scott's bedroom knowing this next part isn't going to be pretty at all.

"Liam, go check on her." Scott demands nodding his head for his beta to leave the room for this part as well.

Liam nods strolling out of the door walking in the direction where Kailani just walked herself.

Kailani closes her eyes grimacing as she can Scott's pained gasp upstairs.

"He'll be okay, Lan." Liam softly voices not wanting to startle the emotional teenager.

"This is why I don't let anyone in. Everyone always leaves or dies on me." Kailani sniffles knowing Scott's death isn't permanent.

And that he still has a soft heartbeat but still the fact no one listened to her about not liking this plan.

"You don't have to let anyone in, Lan. Not me... not anyone. But just know I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." Liam says making Kailani look up from her staring contest with the flooring in Scott's house into Liam's gorgeous blue eyes.

"Crap. I'm sorry." Kailani chuckles looking away from Liam's eyes letting one of her tears fall only for Liam to gently reach up and wipe it away.

"I understand." Liam nods gesturing to the girl to embrace him─ which Kailani doesn't hesitate in doing so.

Wrapping her arms around Liam's shoulders, Kailani inhales his scent closing her eyes and just letting them be silent in the moment for a few minutes.

"It's done. The ambulance is on it's way, as well. Good luck." Noshiko states leaving the McCall household which makes Kailani inhale knowing Scott's 'dead' upstairs with Kira at his side.

NOW AT the hospital, Kailani comforts the emotional Melissa while walking into the morgue knowing Scott's body is safely placed inside.

Kailani gulps feeling nauseous at the sight of Scott lying on his bed pale and 'dead' like.

Liam notices the girls halt in her step before gently guiding her to stand beside him while keeping their hands together.

"I still hate this plan. I mean, this is pretty significantly terrifying. He looks dead." Melissa voices horrified at the sight.

"Give me your hand." Noshiko softly offers holding out her own hand for the mother to grab a hold of.

Melissa looks at Kailani and Stiles nervously receiving a silent nod from Kailani.

"It's okay." Stiles says encouraging Melissa to place her palm flatly on Scott's chest.

"Wait for it." Noshiko says while Scott's faint heartbeat is heard and felt from underneath her palm.

"Is that enough to keep a Werewolf alive?" Melissa questions anxiously.

"Enough for an Alpha." Noshiko confirms, "How much time do we have?" Melissa wonders, "Forty-five minutes." Noshiko responds.

"What happens after that?" Melissa questions, "I bring him back the same way." Kira explains.

"No, I mean, what happens if he stays like this longer than forty-five minutes?" Melissa anxiously inquires making Kailani tighten her hold on Liam's hand.

"No one's told her?" Noshiko exasperatedly quizzes, "What? What happens after forty-five minutes?" Melissa questions demanding an answer.

"He dies." Noshiko responds revealing the truth about Scott's possible future in forty-five minutes time.

KAILANI STANDS with Liam, Kira and Stiles in one of the rooms Melissa got them due to needing space away from people for the next part of the plan.

"I'm here. You ready?" Argent questions through Stiles' phone before he speaks again.

"Try it now." Said male suggests while Stiles presses the button on one of the MacBook's loading up the security cameras of the entire hospital.

"Damn." Kailani mumbles speaking out loud everyone's thoughts in the room seeing all of the cameras working on the MacBook's.

After sometime of watching the cameras, Liam offers Kailani half of his chocolate bar.

"Oo, thanks." Kailani whispers thankful for some food despite her stomach being in knots due to the current situation.

Kailani looks at the laptop screen noticing something in the corner.

"Uh─ guys..." Kailani voices capturing all of their attention and motioning to the broken camera.

"Is that supposed to look like that?" Liam asks, "No. No, it's not." Stiles responds.

"Where is that?" Kira questions, "The roof. Someone's gonna have to go check it out." Stiles suggests.

"I'll go." Kailani offers receiving a shocked look from Stiles and Kira while Liam bites his lip anxious for the girls safety.

"I'll come with you." Kira firmly states receiving a firm nod off the tribrid.

"Whoa, whoa. This might not just be a malfunction." Stiles
states a little worried.

"That's why I'm bringing this." Kira mutters showing her katana.

"And I've got these.. and this." Kailani states showing off her were-coyote eyes along with pulling out a flower from her back pocket handing it off to Stiles.

"Oh. Okay." Stiles murmurs shocked at the sudden flower coming from Kailani's pocket.

"We've got this." Kailani states rushing out of the room with Kira following behind her quickly.

"I'm coming too!" Liam exclaims despite his nerves running out of the room to join Kailani and Kira.

"Okay. And you're both coming right back. Immediately." Stiles exclaims focusing on the MacBook's once again with a sigh.

"Kids." Said male mumbles.

KAILANI KICKS open the door to the roof ready for an abrupt attack from something.

Liam notices the broken wires just to the side of them, "Oh." Kailani mumbles feeling the need to form a magic force field.

"Looks like someone did something to it." Liam states as a low growl is heard coming to behind them.

"I think somebody did." Kira responds shocked before unleashing her katana ready for the fight that's about to happen.

"Get ready!" Kailani warns before screaming at the Berserker and knocking it back due to force field she formed moments ago.

The Berserker growls at the girl knocking her to the ground with a grunt.

"Look out!" Kailani exclaims noticing The Berserker heading towards Kira and Liam.

Kailani watches at the Berserker punches Kira to the ground knocking her into a daze for a few moments.

"Ki! Get up! Come on!" Kailani exclaims loudly while Liam fights
the Berserker to the side of them.

Kira groans awakening from her daze before standing beside Kailani noticing the Berserker stalking towards them once again.

Liam groans being knocked the grunt once again noticing Kailani holding onto her injured side with a pained whimper.

"Kailani. Liam, run! Get out of here!" Kira demands fighting off the Berserker with her katana while Liam groans getting up before noticing Kailani leaning against the nearby pole with her eyes closed.

Liam growls unleashing the anger within himself and climbing on top of the metal gate guarding the power to the hospital growing menacing at the Berserker.

Before a light blue glow captivates their surroundings, "Ki. Liam. Get down, now!" Kailani shouts in a demanding tone once again releasing a massive scream that sends the Berserker back further and further away from them.

Liam and Kira watch in awe as Kailani growls at the Berserker sending more and more blows from her witch magic.

Hearing a growl in the distance, The Berserker runs off leaving Kira, Kailani and Liam panting catching their breath from the previous fight.

"Scott needs us. Come on." Kailani demands rushing into the hospital all the way down to the morgue with Kira hot on her heels to awaken Scott from his dead slumber.

Kailani paces the morgue as Kira places her hand on Scott's chest starting to ritual to bring said male back from the dead.

Kailani gasps rushing over as Scott lets out a horrifying yell being awoken from his dead state.

"Oh, thank god!" Kailani sighs in relief as Kira and Scott share a quick kiss with one another.

"What happened? Did it work?" Scott asks looking around at everyone noticing the blood on Kailani's face and clothes.

Before anyone can respond to Scott's question, Liam comes into the morgue with a grim expression on his face─ looking directly at Kira who frowns in confusion.

"What?" Kira questions, "It's your mother. She's hurt." Liam explains which makes Kira sprint out of the room towards her mother.

AFTER LEAVING the hospital, Kailani walks into the loft with a large sigh.

"You─ oh. Kailani, what happened?" Derek asks stunned seeing his sister's appearance.

"I kicked a Berserker's ass." Kailani states with a smile noticing the
guns on the table.

"Guns?" Kailani questions with a frown noticing the grimace on Derek's face.

"No. Please." Kailani mumbles realising that her brother is dying right in-front of her eyes.

"It's not my choice, Lani." Derek softly says noticing the pain in Kailani's eyes.

"You can't leave me." Kailani cries hugging Derek who wraps his arms around his little sister's frame.

"I know. I'm sorry." Derek softly says letting the girl sob in his arms for a while.

Eventually, Kailani walks upstairs to shower and make sure the wound on her side has healed─ despite being a werecoyote, that side hasn't been fully activated yet.

Before the girl calls it a night needing sleep due to the craziness that happened during the day.
