My face thoroughly flushed red with embarrassment.

Jeena continued to stare at me with a blank expression.

And then she started to laugh. "You... what?"

"I..." I was hoping to hold myself together, but I couldn't. I started crying, and I didn't want to because I deserved to be yelled at. If Jeena saw me like this, then...

"Oh," she stood up and sat on the armrest of the chair, putting an arm around me. "Hey, don't cry. It's not entirely your fault..."

"It is, though!" I whipped my face. "He knew I didn't want that, but I kept telling him I did. It was stupid. Stupid stupid stupid..."

She sat on the floor before me since I assumed she was getting uncomfortable on the armrest. "But Jimmy didn't do anything to stop it. He very well could have fixed the situation and just let you cry it out. But since he likes you, it was probably harder to control himself..."

"Why aren't you yelling at me?!" I almost screamed. "I. Slept. With. Your. Brother. Last. Night!"

"I hear you, hun," she snapped her fingers twice by her ear. "So can the neighbors."

I couldn't get myself to breathe normally. All of my breathing was choppy. I thought I had gotten all of my feelings out last night.

She sighed. "I would yell at you, but what is that going to do? It's not going to undo what you did. It'll just make you feel worse. And especially with what you've been going through, I don't want to make your life any more miserable..."

I sniffed. "I appreciate that...,"

She somehow managed to smile, but I knew it was hard. "I am going to have a long talk with my brother..."

I watched as she put on her shoes and picked up her keys from the front door.

"Jeena?"

"Yes?"

I lifted my head. "This might sound weird, but... I know he's your brother and all, but try not to be too aggressive if that's what you have planned. I don't think he meant any harm."

She stood there for a few seconds with the door open, not making eye contact with me. And then she stepped outside and said "okay" before shutting the door.

I was left in a very uncomfortable silence.

Andy came back not long after being gone. I explained to him how Jeena went to her parent's house to do 'something.'

"What is that 'something'?" He asked, sitting on the couch next to me where I had moved.

I swallowed, and he knew something was wrong. "Hey... what the matter?"

That completely set me off.

"Not again." I choked out.

He comfortingly put his hand on my shoulder and rubbed it with his thumb in slow circles. He was a respectable distance away from me. "You can tell me. I won't judge-"

"I had sex with her brother last night when you guys left the house." I blurted. I didn't mean to, but I guess it was good not to anticipate him any longer.

He tried to keep his face straight, but his eyebrows went up. "Oh. Wow..."

"Yeah." I sniffed and started crying harder. "I was sad and confused. I didn't know how to handle the situation I was in at the time. And I guess, I still am. And somehow, sex was the first thing on my mind! How could I have done something like that?"

Andy had a slight smile on his face. He turned it toward the tv instead of in my direction and started to chuckle.

"What, do you find this amusing?" I scoffed.

"No, not at all," he turned back to me and got a little serious. "Do you see how you're feeling right now? How guiltiness is drowning you, and you realize so soon that this was a mistake?"

I whipped my nose with a tissue. "Yeah..."

His smile returned. "This is exactly how George felt that day you threw him out of the house. Let alone, when he came home that morning after our concert when I had no idea where he was. He still feels like this. I don't think he'll ever forgive himself for what he did to you."

I sat in silence for a full minute, trying to sort my thoughts. "Oh..."

"Yeah." He waited for me to look at him before speaking again, so he knew I was paying attention. "This isn't me bugging you to go back to him. Because frankly, I can't make you do anything."

I nodded.

"Forget that other chick, Alexis. He still loves you, DJ." Andy put his hand on my arm. "More than anything in this world."

Jeena's Point of View

I walked into my parent's house unannounced.

My mom was watching tv on the couch. I assumed my dad was at work because he wasn't anywhere to be found. "Oh, hi honey. How come you're-"

"Where's my brother?" I asked.

"In his room. Why?"

"I just need to talk to him," I said. "Don't follow me."

She was about to protest, but I was up the stairs in a few seconds and to his room.

I hesitated when I got to his closed-door since I could already feel myself getting heated. I stood there for a few seconds before knocking softly on the door. "It's me."

The door opened very fast, and there was my brother with a perplexed face. "What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk."

His face changed to be more embarrassed. "She told you?"

I walked inside his shockingly clean room and shut the door behind me. I nodded.

"I didn't hurt her! Whatever she said, I didn't-"

"Hey, hey, hey!" I grabbed his shoulders. "I know you didn't. I want to get your side of the story of why this happened, why you let it happen. God... I can't believe this."

He sat down on his bed and sighed. "Deej was... so sad. When she was pulling my hair and my clothes, it was just so hard to back off from the situation."

I sat down across from him on a stool.

"She was crying. So much. I couldn't see much of anything by the time we got to her room because there weren't any lights on. Every time I tried to stop her, she just kept telling me, 'I want this. Please don't stop' but I knew deep down that it wasn't true."

I did my best to keep my breathing easy, so I didn't yell at him and cause my mom to come upstairs.

"And my damn feelings got to the best of me. And the one time I get this chance, it had to get me in trouble." He rubbed his forehead. "It made me sad to see her so hurt. And the fact that before anything happened, she showed me affection by letting me hold her tight- sorry, that sounded a little weird. But you get what I mean."

"Didn't dad's talk mean anything to you?" I asked.

"I can't tell you how many times that conversation played through my head." He said, scoffing. "It was just silenced by what was happening in front of me. One of my fantasies was coming to life." He said.

I cringed.

He blushed. "Sorry."

"No, it's fine."

"She seriously loves him." He commented. "I saw it in her face. So why won't she just go see him?"

I laughed. "I don't know because she's stubborn? Maybe she she's worried she would have to face Alexis."

"I thought that Careless Whisper song would make her teleport to the airport."

"You heard it?" I asked.

"Yeah. It came on the radio when mom, dad, and I left your place yesterday. As much as I hate to say it, it was beautiful." He said.

"You think?" I asked.

"Yeah." He smiled. "She seriously at least needs to talk to him to understand the situation. It might make her feel better."

"You know..." I started. "Maybe you should talk to him too."

He frowned. "Why?"

"Because he thinks you both had a thing while they were dating." I laughed at how silly the assumption was. "I mean, even if he realizes now it was a stupid assumption, coming from you might mean a lot since you care almost as much about DJ as George does."

He sat in silence for a while, considering my suggestion.

Then he stood up and went to the small phone that was stuck to his wall. "Do you know his number?"

George's Point of View

"Who's calling?"

"I don't know. Go answer it."

"Okay... hello?"

"Hi, is George there?"

"Who is this?"

"An old friend. Now put him on the phone. I need to clear something up."

Alexis put the phone up to her chest and turned her head to me. "Whoever this is, he's bossy."

"He?" I asked, taking her spot. I took the phone. Hello?"

"Hiya, George."

"Jimmy?" I knew that boyish voice from anywhere. "Why are you calling me?"

"Who's Jimmy?" Alexis asked.

I hushed her and kissed her forehead. "You might want to leave the room, babe. I'll explain later."

I heard Jimmy chuckle when Alexis left the room. "I see you're still with your rebound."

I growled into the phone. "If you're calling me to taunt me or some shit-"

"Calm your balls. I'm not." He laughed.

I heard a small voice on the other end. Someone else was in the room. "Dude, come on. Be nice."

My eyes widened. "Was that Jeena? Did she write you a script to read off to try and make me leave this girl?"

More laughter. It was loud. "No. I'm calling to tell you something. Which, you may have already realized, but I figured it might help a little more coming from me. I've changed... I suppose."

There was a muffle of protesting coming from Jeena that seemed to annoy him, so he replied. "I know what I did, and I apologized for it."

"What?" I asked, stupidly curious.

"Nothing." He sighed. "I hope you know DJ and I never had anything going on between us. I'm way out of her league. You should know she's not a greedy person. She's been in love with you since she was in tenth grade. Now she's going to college!" he stopped for a minute. "Sorry, that's not my point. You know, she cried when she listened to your new song. Completely broke down and could not stop crying."

I was a little shocked. I was kidding when I accidentally let Jeena hear me mention listening to the radio. I didn't think it would have much of an effect on her. She's one tough cookie.

"Is she okay?" I asked hesitantly.

"She's..." I waited for him to finish his sentence, but he never did.

"Jimmy, are you still there?" I asked.

"Yeah, sorry..." He paused again. "I don't know how to explain it. She might honestly fall into a deep depression if you don't find a way to see her in person."

My heart sunk. Was there still a chance she loved me?

The last words she said to me were, "I hate you."

That doesn't exactly sound promising.

"I don't know if I can." Was all I could think to say.

He sighed, "Alright. That's your choice."

"There was seriously nothing happening between the both of you?" I asked.

"I promise you. Nothing." I could hear the smile on his face when he said it. It was genuine. "I was just the stupid one to try and win DJ's heart while she was in a relationship with you. I understand how horrible of a decision that was. If I had just backed off and let you both be happy, she wouldn't be..."

His voice broke off. I could tell his sniffle was real. He was seriously upset with how hurt DJ supposedly was. He didn't even want to try and hit on her anymore. "That was stupid, sorry."

"You're seriously upset about this?" I asked

"As silly as it sounds, yeah." He laughed.

"Man..." I was still in shock. "I'm sorry I misjudged you, dude."

"Don't apologize to me." He sounded a little angry now. "Apologize to DJ."

I sat down and began rubbing my forehead.

"One last thing before I hang up." He said. "Who does she think the song is about?"

I was squinting. "What?"

"Alexis," He said. "Who does she think Careless Whisper is about?"

"Oh," I laughed. "Honestly, I told her I made up the whole love tragedy."

"Nice. Real nice." It was so weird that when I first met this kid, he hated me. And now we're both laughing on the phone.

"Great song, George," Jimmy said. "I'm sure you've gotten that a lot already, but seriously. It was amazingly produced. And the lyrics! Man, we all know now that you're still in love with DJ."

"I am," I started getting tears in my eyes. "I really, really am."
