SCP-105 x Male! Reader

《A/n: Requested by: ezioauditore963

You walked down the hallway, your heavy footsteps echoed from your combat boots.

Your eyes were focused ahead, to your destination. You reached the door, hitting the button and watching it slide open. "Evening Iris." You greeted the blonde, "are you prepared for the next mission?"

She looked to you from her camera, shaking her head. "I'm not doing any assassinations if that's what you mean." She looks down again as you sit across from her.

"I know, I've been trying to tell them that you won't do it." You sigh, rolling your eyes. You removed your helmet, (h/c) hair pointing up in several directions. "Are you going to be alright?"

She smiles at you, "I'll be okay for now..." her eyes were downcast, "thank you for asking though. You're the nicest one by far."

"Hey, what can I say? I have manners." You chuckle, trying to lighten the mood at least a little bit. From the short time you've gotten to know Iris, you can't say you didn't have a slight crush on her. You hated how some of the workers in this place refers to her as an SCP rather than just a human, given a brief explanation and look at her 'file'.

SCP-105, otherwise known as Iris Thompson. A blonde with blue eyes and of European descent has grown on you.

While you liked keeping the more stoic look around others, you can't say it's the same with Iris.

"I want to leave."

You sputter, taken off-guard by her words. When you finally collected your thoughts, she was watching you, waiting what you'd say.

"I see, I could understand why..." You trail off, glancing around. "But how?"

"I don't know, I just want to leave." She frowns, "I miss my parents, and friends. This is like a prison, without the visiting hours from anyone outside..." she looks down.

You nod, rubbing the back of your neck. "I could try to help you get out, why not try and convince them your powers are gone? That might convince them to let you leave." You whisper, low enough the microphone in the top corner of the room wouldn't pick it up.

"I've thought of that," she replies. "But... you're really going to help?"

Definitely, you thought with a nod. "We'll just need the right time."

You spent your time with Iris, being assigned to the supernatural female. You tried to do your best to be friendly with her, even with other guards were around.

It wasn't all that surprising when you got attached to her, maybe even closer than friends.

But being able to act on your feelings were difficult, you could barely go into a room with no camera's set up. So you hinted to it with smaller gestures and kind words.

Then a containment breach happened. You stood by the chamber door, waiting for whatever experiment they were consulting be done with when the lights flashed red. A familiar yet unnerving announcement of a breach enter your ears.

Then the door to the cell sparks, and slides open with a loud screech.

Your head turns to look inside, the guard in the room meets your eyes and nods. The other guard escorts the scientist out, seeing the panic on the scientist's face.

You watch them turn a corner, before you go inside the room to fetch Iris.

"We gotta go, now." You tell her as you help her out of the chair. "Come on, we can't waste a second." You usher her out, her hand grasping yours tightly as the other holds her precious camera.

"Which way do we go?"

"We gotta find a higher level key card, then we'll leave through one of the gates..." You mutter loud enough that it could be heard even with your helmet on. "There should be the exit on the higher floors." You see her nod, anxious from how she'd look around with wide eyes.

You guess she didn't think this was happening, her closes attempt at escape.

Your hand squeezed the other reassuringly. You could do this, you went through training, you got experience, and you actually liked Iris a lot so having her get caught would probably result in your termination or her punishment and-

She sent you a look, and you snapped out of your train of thought immediately.

Soon however you skittered to a stop, hearing the loud sounds of voices ahead pass a door.

"What now?" She whispers as the alert above you both stops. The voices are clearer now that the loud voice is gone from the speakers.

"I think they're going another way..." You tell her quietly, before a shrill scream enters your ears.

She flinches closer to you, blue eyes wide with a newfound fear. You froze when you heard the loud crunch that followed by gunshots, then another inhuman scream.

And then, silence.

That was, for a few seconds until there was a loud sobbing. A cry that made Iris look at you with a concerned look, but you knew better.

Though before you could warn her, she slammed the button and the door slid open.

A horrified gasp left her lips as you stood upon the bloody scene. Facing you was a pale, bleached white back, skinny and hunched down on the ground.

"Iris... whatever you do, do not look at it's face..." You try to look away from the scene, placing yourself between SCP-096 and Iris.

She's clearly shaken when you turn to her, grasping her shoulders and shaking her to brake her gaze. Blue eyes snapped to you, wide and full of fear.

"W-wha-"

You shake your head, quieting her, and your eyes looked back to the scene. Ripped bodies and a lot of blood.

"Here... we'll need to go around..." Without a word, you picked her up (bridal style) and began to trace around the edge of the room. Reminding Iris repeatedly not to look at the other SCP as it cries.

Your boots squelch under a puddle of blood, it makes you cringe, and Iris more so as she hugged the polaroid camera tightly, with an arm around your neck to balance herself.

You could do this, you wanted to do it. For her, and her freedom.

Her hands trembled as you placed her down in the elevator. Her eyes downcast with a paled expression, "oh God... that was... so much more worse than when I saw my boyfriend get murdered." She placed a hand to her mouth, refraining herself from gagging. "It was so awful." She whispers, and you hug her, knowing no matter what she said in this moment, she needs some comfort.

She accepts, hugging you back, eyes showing slight exhaustion. "Thanks... I still don't understand why you are doing this."

"It's no problem... and it's 'cause I care about you alright?" You reply, grasping her shoulders as you part. "I will to help you escape."

Her eyes are hopeful, sparkling, "you will..."

"It's a promise." You say, and the elevator doors open.

It's a promise you are willing to keep.
