---Goth's POV----
I stayed close by Raven's side, glancing around at everyone that walked past as if they could kill me. My grip on Raven's hand was so tight that I'm sure I'm actually hurting him, but he didn't seem to mind, simply squeezing back in response.
"Wh-Who were those people Dad was with?" I asked, eyeing a random woman warily as she walked past us.
Raven sighed, looking around. "I can't say for sure, but they were most likely Genos old friends from his criminal gang. I recognised Error from the descriptions our parents have told us before."
I nodded, gulping as the alleyway we had been walking down came to an end, and suddenly we were staring at the main square."Th-This isn't the way we came..." I hissed, glaring at Raven.
"Don't look at me like that! I thought we were following the right route!"
We both looked at the all the bustling crowds of humans and monsters walking past, none of them paying any attention to us really.
"Lets just go through and hope for the best." Raven muttered, stepping out and pulling me along into the crowd.
I stayed close to him, going silent as we both pushed our way through the crowds, muttering "sorry" And "excuse me" every time we bumped into someone.
Suddenly a large man stumbled into me and I fell, crying out as I tripped and sprawled out on the floor. Raven wasn't with me anymore.
The man just kept walking, not even processing that he'd just slammed into me.
I stumbled to my feet, looking around frantically for any signs of my brother. "Raven?!" I called, jumping up in an attempt to see over the crowd.
He was nowhere to be seen. Only a sea of people was visible. Humans and monsters. But no young skeletons wearing black.
I panicked slightly and decided to go the way Raven had been leading me originally, if I could remember which way that is...
Growing desperate, I picked a direction that I thought was the right way and started walking, squeezing and pushing my way through the towering crowds as I attempted to get out of the square.
After about five minutes I managed to shove my way free of the crowd, stumbling into an alleyway.
I instantly ran down it, thinking it looked slightly familiar. "Come on..." I muttered to myself, praying with all my might that this was the right way.
After about five minutes of running I came into a more open area.
Oh lord, I've definitely messed up.
I tipped my head back to look up at the apartment blocks that towered over me, they're crumbling walls looking like they'd collapse on me at any second.
This was definitely not the right way, but I kept walking in the hopes that I'd bump into someone that could help me by giving me directions to my road, or better yet. Lead me to my road.
I glanced around as I walked, shivering at how dark and ominous this place looked before I finally realised where I was. This was Elms block. The shadiest and most dangerous part of Craitown.
I subconsciously started moving faster, wincing and jumping at every single noise that I heard.
I scanned across the streets desperately for someone to help me, but the streets were bare, no sign of life. It almost looked like one of those zombie films Raven and I had watched. We weren't supposed to watch it of course, but we stayed up at night until our parents were properly asleep before creeping down to watch it. We both had nightmares for months after that.
Blinking rapidly, I jolted as a figure slipped out of an alleyway, running full speed towards me.
"RUN!" They yelled, sprinting past me.
I froze in confusion, looking back at there they had come from only to nearly scream.
Seven monsters skidded round and immediately glared at me, pausing for a moment before charging straight for me.
My eyes widened and I stumbled back, trying to get my body to actually work instead of stay frozen. I currently felt like a broken down washing machine.
Just as they were literally upon I felt a hand grab onto my wrist and I was suddenly yanked back, being dragged along the road before a random alleyway.
"Wh-What--?!" I twisted so that I was running beside my rescuer instead of being dragged behind them. It was the guy they were chasing. The guy who yelled at me to run.
He spared a quick glance at me before sliding round another corner, the aggressive voices of that gang slowly fading into the distance.
I spent about ten minutes being dragged around by this kid until we came across an abandoned apartment block.
The guy ran up the fire stairs along the side of the building, dragging me to the roof.
I yelped and stumbled, feeling like these stairs would suddenly detach from the building and send both of us flying to the ground where we'd hit it and crunch into the concrete, bone and clothes scattered everywhere.
Eventually we reached the top and he shoved me onto the flat surfaced roof, making me sprawl out and land on my face. A thump next to me signified him collapsing next to me, panting heavily.
"Th-That...was c...close..." He said between pants before snickering and sitting up, looking at me as I pushed myself up to my knees and wiped the mud off of them onto once white hoodie.
I glanced at him, looking him up and down as I nodded.
He was a skeleton. That surprised me. He had a black and white cap on, a faded and grubby looking scarf that probably used to be extremely bright and colourful. His clothes were muddy and ripped, but I'm pretty sure that they also would have once been bright. After a quick scan of his clothes I looked up at his face, blinking as I looked into his stary eyes.
He grinned before standing up and bowing to me. "You're welcome."
I blinked in confusion, looking up at him. "Y-You're welcome for what?"
"Saving you of course." He said, shaking his head.
My face flushed from embarrassment and I stood up beside him, nodding. "O-Oh yeah. Th-Thanks..."
He chuckled, taking my hand and shaking it. "No problem. It was my fault that they charged at you, so I felt like I had to help, seeing as you obviously weren't going to start running any time soon."
I winced, looking around as I nodded.
The roof was covered in rubbish and random chunks of the building that had somehow got up here. Over to one side a shelter-like structure had been made. Sheets of metal had been fixed to some haphazard supports as a mini roofed area. Under that was a dirty mattress, some pillows and a few blankets.
I froze. "I-Is this where you live?"
The guy nodded, wincing as he glanced at me. "Most people down Elms block are homeless. We can't even afford the shitty apartment rooms here. Living in a house is like a mansion to us."
"Oh..." Suddenly I realised how lucky I was to live where I do.
He suddenly turned to me, scanning me up and down. "You're not from here. I don't recognise you."
I looked down, shaking my head. "I-I'm from the main town...but uh...I was with my brother and got lost...and ended up here..."
He rolled his eyes snickering. "Do you know where you live?"
I blinked, knowing my parents told me never to give away where I actually live. "...Oakly Road..."
He blinked, grabbing onto my hand again before starting to drag me back down the stairs. "I was expecting a house number, but that'll do."
"H-Huh?" I yelped, stumbling after him. "Wh-Where are you taking me?"
"Back to your home! Duh. I just need to check that Dimitri's gang is gone."
"Dimitri?"
"The big tiger guy in the gang that chased us. He's the leader of that gang. And boy, you don't want to piss him off."
We got to the bottom of the stairs and ran, glancing about as the buildings moved past.
"What did you do to make them chase you?" I asked, running faster to try and catch up with him.
"Stole some of their money and food." He said with a snicker, indicating to the rucksack on his back. "They were so triggered."
I let out a little laugh, smiling as he made it back to the main Craitown square. The place where dad caught dad when he fell from a roof in a criminal chase.
The guy pulled me along down some familiar alleyways and then suddenly we were there. Oakley Road.
I stood still, scanning over the buildings quickly before hugging the guy. "Thanks! I would have never been able to find this place without you, literally."
He chuckled, patting my shoulder as I pulled back. "No problem...uh...I don't know your name..." He mumbled, suddenly seeming shy.
I smiled shyly back, shifting. "Goth."
He grinned before bowing to me again, making me giggle. "Well then, Goth. My names Pallet."
