Geese

❤️💜OH BOII WE GONE AND SKIPPED 50K

JZHZJSNSNJSJS FINAL GOAL OF 65K???💜❤️

---Error's POV----

We all froze, watching as the goose launched itself at Nightmare, hissing and flapping.

Nightmare let out another shriek as it bit onto his ankle again, kicking frantically as its beak dug into his dark bone. "GET IT OFF!"

The goose screeched before flapping off of Nightmare and over to the river bank, where we then got a clear view of it.

It was your typical Canadian Goose. Dark grey beak with black feathers running from its head down to the bottom of its neck. It had the classic white strip marking under its eyes, and its belly was also white. The rest of its feathers -including the wings- were a soft chocolate brown colour.

It actually looked rather cute for a goose. It had extremely fluffy feathers, giving it a plush and cute look. But as we just saw, that thing is vicious.

It glared at us all disapprovingly, fluffing up its wings before letting out a loud honk, its expression turning from irritated to proud. It had obviously enjoyed Nightmares reaction to being attacked.

"That thing's crazy!" Nightmare hissed, rubbing his bitten ankle softly with a hand.

Cross fussed over Nightmare quickly before glancing over at the goose, tilting his head to the side. "I think you just stepped too close to his territory..."

"Too close to its territory?! It's territory is the river! A river is water! I hate water!" Nightmare yelled.

The goose honked loudly, eyeing us all up.

"Maybe he thought you were gonna go into the water? There's no way he couldn't have known you don't like water, so he protected his territory." Cross suggested, smiling weakly.

"Why are you calling it a he?" I called, eyeing up the goose. "It could be a girl."

Cross glanced at me, rolling his eyes. "Because that's his female, right there."

I blinked, looking over at where he was pointing.

There, stood by the bank, eyeing us up curiously, was another goose. It was a bit smaller than the other one, and instead of having the same markings of the other goose, it was white. It probably used to be snow white, but now it almost seemed grey, its feathers slightly ruffled. Even just by looking, I could tell she was a female.

"Alright then." I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest. "So what's their problem?"

We all looked at the geese, seeming to forget our whole current situation of trying to find X's base.

On closer inspection, the white goose looked much thinner than her partner. In fact, she looked pretty starved.

"Sh-She's hungry..." Cross muttered, edging closer to the two geese. "She's starving...do we have any food for them?"

I sighed, glancing at the others. "Uh, as horrible as this sounds...we can't really waste what little food we have on some rogue geese."

Cross glared at me, narrowing his eyes. "Oh I'm sorry you value your own life over other innocents. Maybe that would explain why you did what you did to me without hesitation." He hissed the last bit, challenging me.

I froze, my whole body tensing up. Cross hadn't told Nightmare what I'd done yet. And if he exposed me now, I'd be dead in seconds.

Nightmare looked between us questioningly, protectively wrapping his arms around Cross' waist. "What did he do to you?"

"...Nothing..." Cross muttered, looking down. "...Never mind..."

Nightmare narrowed his eye questioningly, but to my relief, he didn't press him any further. He simply nuzzled Cross softly, sighing as he looked over at the two fluffy geese. "You know...I think I have some spare bread..."

"And there go our supplies..." I muttered, watching as Cross took some bread from one of our supply bags, glaring sharply at me.

"Hey there..." Cross whispered, edging closer to the white goose.

It honked weakly in response, not moving. It was clearly desperate to eat the bread, but seemed far to scared to actually take it.

The male goose hissed at Cross and flapped in front of the female one protectively.

Cross flinched before tearing off a small piece of bread and tossing it at them.

They were both onto it immediately, tearing the small chunk of bread to pieces in seconds before looking back up at Cross hopefully, edging closer.

"Awwww they're so cuuuuttteeee!" Cross said, immediately tossing some more bread to them.

Nightmare smirked, rolling his eye as he kissed Cross' cheek fondly, clearly finding his friendliness to the geese amusing.

Soon enough the two geese had devoured three pieces of bread between them. I'm pretty sure Cross would have fed them more, but Nightmare gently stopped him, whispering about how we also needed that bread to eat.

Cross leaned back against Nightmare happily, watching the two geese as they waddled over, nudging Cross lightly as they looked for more bread. "I don't have any more, sorry."

The fluffier goose honked loudly before flapping onto Cross' lap, making all of us laugh.

"Looks like you've made some new friends!" Horror called, smirking as he watched the goose peck Cross' hand viciously when he tried to pet it.

Cross yelped and pulled his hand away quickly, clutching it. "It bit me!"

"Well done." Dust muttered, rolling his eyes. "It's a wild animal. Not a domestic pet."

I rolled my eyes, glancing at the others. "As cute as this is, we need to keep moving. So get the goose off of your lap, and lets get going."

Cross sighed sadly, but reluctantly nudged the goose off of his lap. "Alright then...we'll keep moving..."

Nightmare pulled him to his feet, humming as he looked down at the two geese. "Now go back to your river and have a bunch of goose babies."

"They're called Goslings." Killer cut in, smirking as he leant against Dream lightly, making both of them blush a bit.

"Alright then. Now go back to your river and have a bunch of goslings." Nightmare said sarcastically. "Happy now Killer?"

"Much happier."

"Right lets move out!" I called, turning around and starting to walk back in the right direction.

The others all followed, and for a moment, everything seemed fine. No problems.

"Errrrroooorrrrr...we have a probleeeemmmmm..."

I stopped, my eye twitching as I turned around to see that instead of going back to their river, the geese were waddling along after us, looking up at Nightmare and Cross admiringly.

"For fucks sake..." I groaned, watching as Nightmare tried to unsuccessfully nudge them back into the river.

"Go away geese." Nightmare muttered, hissing as one of them pecked his tentacles viciously, clearly showing that they didn't want to be pushed around.

"Throw a little bit of bread and fucking run!" I called, gripping onto Ink's hand.

Nightmare quickly took out some bread from a rucksack and glanced at all of us before chucking it as hard as he could in the way we'd came.

"GO! GO! GO!" I yelled, sprinting along as fast as I could, the others following.

It seems stupid, running from geese. But we're not exactly the most normal people in the world.

We ran for a good half hour before collapsing behind some bushes, gasping and panting.

"Th-They won't...they won't find us...here..." I panted, closing my eyes.

Ink nodded, leaning against me weakly. "We'll just wait a little bit and catch out breaths..."

I nodded, closing my eyes. "At least we won't have to worry about those fucking geese anymore..."

And no sooner than I'd let those words leave my mouth, a happy honk rang out above me.

"Oh for ffff--"
