Power Cut

❤️💜MMMMMMMM 3k
Imma set up a goal for 20k on this book :3💜❤️

This chapter gave me the most bitch-ass case of writers block ever and I've got no fucking clue what to write so bare with me--

---Sci's POV----

I sighed.

---Sci's POV----

I sighed, looking at the computer screen in front of me.

It was currently showing some blurry images of some criminal case files that I had copied and uploaded to my computer.

I sighed loudly, rubbing the back of my neck as I scanned over Geno's file with tired eyes.

It was currently three in the morning, and I was practically half asleep. But I'm forcing myself to stay up and analyse what I've been told to.

Soon enough I'll fall asleep at the desk, I know that.

"Five more minutes Sci..." I muttered to myself, glaring at Geno's case file for no apparent reason.

Even as I said those words, I could feel myself start to fall asleep. My vision grew cloudy and dark.

I went limp, flopping down onto my desk.

Of course I ended up stabbing my own hand with a pencil, resulting in me jolting right back up. Sleep was no more.

I hissed loudly in pain, gripping onto my hand. My already chipped and scarred wrist had yet another small piece of bone missing. This time thanks to a pencil.

Groaning softly, I stuck my hand in my pocket, attempting to ignore the aching pain.

"Why me..." I muttered, flicking the pencil that stabbed me off of the table.

It sailed off the side before plummeting to the cold tiled floor, landing with a small clatter.

I watched as it rolled across the floor before finally hitting a brick wall and stopping.

I sat there, staring at the pencil for about three minutes before a sudden flicker of the lights caused me to jolt and look up.

Nothing happened.

I shivered, turning back to the computer once more. "It's just the lights flickering...nothing else..." I muttered, failing miserably to reassure myself.

"Just a little flicker of the power...that's all..."

I yelped as the lights flickered again, but this time the computer flashed off momentarily as well.

I gripped onto the arms of my chair, eyeing the ceiling fearfully as I waited for the power to flicker out again.

Just as I expected, the power cut off again.

But this time...it didn't turn back on.

I sat there in complete darkness for a whole minute before it dawned on me. The power wasn't turning back on.

"Why me?" I whimpered, fumbling about on the desk for the small torch I always kept there.

My fingers scrabbled around desperately over the marble surface, shoving pencils and pieces of paper out of the way as I searched.

I almost fainted in relief as my fingers curled around the smooth metal surface of the mini torch.

I grabbed onto it tightly, quickly turning it on.

The white beam of light shot out from the torch, illuminating half of my messy office room.

I shone it around shakily, slowly managing to calm down my breathing. "I-Its just a power cut..." I mumbled. "He won't be here for a while, so I have time to fix this..."

Breathing in sharply, I stood up, tucking my chair in under my desk before looking over at the heavy wooden door that lead out to the main corridor.

I walked over stiffly, gripping onto the door handle before pausing. My hand was shaking.

"D-Don't be a baby Sci..." I muttered as I forced myself to turn the handle before pushing the door open.

The lab corridors have always been creepy, but now they looked like something out of a horror movie.

I gulped, taking forced steps down the corridor. Every step echoed loudly, making me wince terribly.

"Why does this always happen to me?" I whimpered, spinning round to check behind me as I thought I heard a noise.

The torch light only reached a certain distance, and I couldn't even see the door I'd came out of. It just faded off into the black, swallowing darkness.

Gulping harshly, I continued to walk forwards. "The power box is on the second floor Sci...you know this..."

I quickened my pace, convinced that someone was following me now. Every now and then I'd hear some abnormal footsteps, ones that were definitely not mine.

Now I'm definitely in a horror movie.

I reached the large flight of stairs that lead to the second floor and scrambled up them as quick as I could. The feeling of being followed strengthened.

As soon as I reached the top of the stairs I booked it to the main power box, my torch light bouncing everywhere as I ran.

I skidded to a stop as the metal plate on the wall came into view.

Glancing behind me quickly, I narrowed my eyes, checking to see if there were any signs of my horror movie follower.

Seeing none I quickly looked back at the metal plate, shining my torch at the key pad so that I could type in the code.

"F-Five...six...t-two...nine..." I stuttered as I entered the code.

No sooner than those four numbers were set up a green tick shone on the screen, illuminating my surroundings slightly.

I scanned over the tangles of wires and multiple switches inside before reaching out and pressing the main power button.

No sooner than I had the lights started flickering again, and soon enough the corridor was lit up once more.

I smiled, shutting the panel box quickly.

I was about to turn back and go downstairs to my office, or my room where I could finally sleep.

But before I had even taken a step I felt something cold and hard slam into the side of my skull, knocking me unconscious immediately.

---??? POV----

The skeleton crumpled beneath me, going limp at my feet.

I winced, nudging him with my foot to check if he was still conscious.

No reaction.

Satisfied with my work, I dropped the metal crowbar I had found in an abandoned room and walked off into back to the stairs, heading in the direction the scientist had came from.

I glanced around, glad that the lights were now on. It makes stuff so much easier when you can actually see what you're doing.

Soon enough I'd reached his office and was kicking open the door. Sounds dramatic I know, but I'm a child at heart.

I hummed softly to myself, jumping into the scientists chair and looking at his computer.

I rested my hand on the mouse before waking the computer back up, smirking as the screen asked for a username and password.

Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out a small memory stick. I quickly plugged it into the side of the computer, grinning as the virus took over the computer, overriding password control.

The screen fizzed for a moment before blacking out, and then I was looking at his home screen.

It was a picture of the skeleton next to another skeleton dressed in a black hoodie with fluff around the edges. They had a golden tooth and a scowl on their face, but I could see that they were blushing.

I smirked, moving my mouse to click on the most recently opened file.

It was just what I wanted.

I pulled out the current memory stick and replaced it with another, quickly downloading all of the data onto it.

The sight of it all downloading in a rush never fails to satisfy me, no matter how many times I do it.

Two minutes later and it was done. I pulled out the memory stick and quickly put it in my pocket, humming as I shut the computer down and stood up.

"This is too easy~" I chuckled to myself as I walked over to the nearest window, smashing it open with my elbow.

I climbed out quickly, ignoring the sudden blaring alarms.

I kept one hand in my pocket as I dropped down to the pavement and started running.

It gripped onto the memory sticks with all the downloaded files tightly.

Step two of my mission was now complete.

Now it's time for step three and four.
