Chapter 25
The storm was raging on and growing worse by the passing minute. It was still pretty early in the morning as Jenna made her way up toward the Gryffindor tower. Knowing that the others were still probably asleep, Jenna decided to take her shot at going after Pettigrew once more before the Quidditch match.
So in the corridor leading up the the Gryffindor common room, Jenna turned into one of the students randomly before walking toward the portrait of Sir Cadogan, who had replaced the Fat Lady after the chaos Sirius had caused.
Once she said the password and walked inside, Jenna quickly turned back to Crookshanks after making sure that the common room was empty. So with that, she mad her way up to the boys' dormitory, waiting for one of them to open the door so she could sneak in.
Jenna waited for long minutes there, until someone finally opened the door to the third year boys' dormitory. But it was Harry.
As Harry opened the door, something brushed against his leg. He bent down just in time to grab Crookshanks by the end of her bushy tail and drag her outside.
"You know, I reckon Ron was right about you," Harry told Crookshanks suspiciously. "There are plenty of mice around this place — go and chase them. Go on," he added, nudging Crookshanks down the spiral staircase with his foot. "Leave Scabbers alone."
Jenna growled under her breath as she watched Harry walk away after closing the dorm's door and soon making his way out of the common room, where the sound of the storm was even louder.
Finally giving up from sneaking inside the dorm, Jenna left the common room as well and made her way down to the edge of the dark forest through the pouring rain, where she had promised to meet Sirius.
Once she spotted a big black dog right underneath the storm at the edge of the forest, Crookshanks made her way toward him cheerfully.
"Ready to lose the bet, Snuffles?" she let out an amused meow.
"Ugh, I was really hoping you would forget that nickname," Padfoot growled.
"Never."

After everyone had made their way down to the Quidditch pitch, Crookshanks and Padfoot walked through the raging storm until they reached the end of the stands, where they hoped no one could see them. Their chances of not being spotted was good that day, mostly because of the heavy rain and how everyone's attention was only on the game.
The Gryffindors were playing against Hufflepuff today instead of Slytherin, seeing as the Slytherin Seeker had claimed that his arm was still hurt after the scandal which had happened in their first Care of Magical Creatures class with Hagrid's Hippogriff, named Buckbeak.
"So Harry's a really good flyer, did you say?" Padfoot asked as they both waited for the teams to walk into the field.
"As good as his aunt, and that's saying something," Crookshanks joked. "The boy's a natural. He got on the team in his first year, from what I heard."
"First year?" Padfoot threw her a surprised look.
"Yes. Youngest Seeker in a century." Jenna wanted to smile proudly if only she weren't in her cat form. "James would be so proud of him."
With that, Padfoot gently nudged her with his snout. "He is proud. And so is Lily."
But then their attention was caught when a cheer erupted the field, and when they looked over, they saw the two teams had walking onto the field through the storm.
The wind was so strong that they staggered sideways as they walked out onto the field, the rolls of thunder fading out the crowd's cheers. While the Gryffindors were in their usual scarlet Quidditch robes, The Hufflepuffs were approaching from the opposite side of the field, wearing canary-yellow robes.
Jenna heard Madam Hooch say faintly after the two captains shook hands, "Mount your brooms!"
Sirius and Jenna watched as Harry pulled his right foot out of the mud with a squelch and swung it over his Nimbus Two Thousand. Madam Hooch then put her whistle to her lips and gave it a blast that sounded shrill and distant. With that, the two teams shot for the sky right on cue.
"There! See? He's a Seeker!" Crookshanks turned to look sideways at Padfoot knowingly as they watched Harry fly backward and forward across the field past blurred red and yellow shapes, in search for the Golden Snitch.
But the poor boy had little to no chance at finding it in such weather. The wind was howling so badly that they couldn't even hear the commentary.
The crowd was hidden beneath a sea of cloaks and battered umbrellas, meanwhile Jenna and Sirius had nothing to cover them from the rain. But neither of them cared as they watched their Godson, as if he were their own child.
The sky was getting darker, as though night had decided to come early. With the first flash of lightning came the sound of Madam Hooch's whistle after the Gryffindor captain had called for time-out.
It took some while for the teams to come back onto the field again and mount their brooms once more, getting back up to the sky. This time Harry moved faster, searching everywhere for the Snitch to give an end to the game sooner, even though it seemed impossible.
But just then, as Harry turned, intending to head back toward the middle of the field, another flash of lightning illuminated the stands, and Harry saw the silhouette of an enormous shaggy black dog, motionless in the topmost, empty row of seats.
"I think Harry saw you," Crookshanks warned him, though she was further back into the seats where she couldn't be spotted. "Get behind here, Sirius."
Sirius obeyed quickly, and so the next time Harry looked over, the black dog had vanished. But then something happened that none of them were ready for.
At least a hundred dementors approached the stadium with their hidden faces pointing up, now standing all around the field.
