Twenty-Five
Second Year,
Something About Dumbledore
Her parents tried to convince her to stay home, no matter what they said she had an answer for them. 'I want to stay with Rhea,' or 'Cedric knows now, he can help me' or 'I have my ring, I can always talk to you,' she knew her mother and father wouldn't force her to stay home, they only asked that they go with her to speak with Dumbledore.
If it meant being able to stay at Hogwarts she didn't object to them speaking to the headmaster. She and Sirius used a portkey, to get to Hogsmeade while her mother apparated there, together they walked towards the school, her mother smiled as she saw Laura and Ethan hurrying over to them.
"What are you doing here?" Ethan asked, hugging Phoebe tightly, "You aren't supposed to be back while tomorrow,"
"We're going to speak to Dumbledore,"
"No, you aren't sweetheart," her mother told her, "your father and I are, go on," she gestured for Phoebe to leave with her cousins.
"You okay?" Laura asked, she nodded looking back at her mum and dad.
"Albus this is unacceptable, she is a child, the fact that you never informed us-
"I was under the impression that your daughter might have told you,"
"What did she see any way that was so frightening she came to you for help," Aimee argued,
"Just vampires, they're studying them in Defence against the dark arts,"
"What a load of nonsense,"
"Hunny," Sirius held his wife's arm, "Phoebe would have told us if was too bad,"
"I think mum's mad with me," Phoebe muttered
"She didn't seem it," Ethan said, watching his aunt posture as she turned to walk along the halls, "come let's follow them,"
Ethan lead the way they quickly hid behind a pillar as Aimee and Sirius' turned around. Like they could hear them coming, Phoebe cringed, knowing her parents little secret they could probably hear them. While Sirius and Aimee believed they were sly about keeping their furry secret to themselves many of the children had figured it out.
They were animagi, dogs to be specific. One white and one black, they most definitely could hear them coming. They hurried after them, they slipped upstairs to the headmaster's office, Phoebe and her cousin just managed to slip through the remained quiet outside the door listening in.
"Phoebe would have told us if it was too bad," she heard he father say. "Albus, I was too young to understand when you asked me to join the order, too young to understand what it might have cost me, I will do what I believe is best for my children, and Phoebe is not an eye into the future, if I ever find that you've taken anything see's seen again, I won't hesitate to have you removed from the school,"

The next day Phoebe went alone to the station to greet Rhea when she returned. It must have been horrible going to the station on her own, as the train pulled into the station she anxiously wait for her to leave.
She walked towards her though she halted her stride when she noticed the Weasley twins with her, now wouldn't be the time to talk. She quickly hurried back to the school, just as the students walked to the Great Hall for the start-of-term feast.
"You okay?" she heard Rhea's voice through the ring
"I should be asking you that, were you alright on the train by yourself,"
"Of course I was, I had my friends," Phoebe smiled across the hall to her.
Rhea saw that as an invitation to come and sit with her, she picked up her plate, walking past the Hufflepuff table prompting Laura to go with her. The three girls sat with Phoebe with their backs to the Slytherin students, she never liked to be in their view, especially after her altercation with a few of them.
"I hate that you have to sit so near them," Rhea mutter.
"Feelings mutual,"
"Oi, Higgs, they're my cousins," Laura argued, giving him a warning glare, he rolled his eyes at her.
"How are you friends with them?" Rhea asked, their cousin
"Believe it or not they're actually a lot of fun, and I've been inside the Slytherin common room before, my dad's on the Slytherin wall of fame, aunt Aimee's up there too,"
"That's cool I guess, maybe Hades will let us in," Rhea said winking at Phoebe, she shook her head at her, "What you were the one who said he'd be in Slytherin,"
"I know, but we can't use him to get into the Slytherin Common room, and why would you want to go in there anyway,"
"I don't know, see the wall of fame,"
"Yeah, right" Phoebe shook her head, smiling to herself she knew full well why Rhea really wanted to get inside the Slytherin common room, to lay down a few pranks, she eyed the headmaster with caution. "What do you think of Dumbledore?"
"He's a little old, to be teaching, he's got to be losing his marbles soon," Rhea said, she rolled her eyes at her.
"No I mean, do you think he's a good person?"
"Why have you seen something?" Laura asked
"Not exactly, it's just mum's never liked him,"
"Why would she, he isn't fair to Slytherins and aunt Aimee was a Slytherin,"
Phoebe knew it was more deeper than that, especially with how her father spoke to him. But what would she do if she had another vision like that again? As though her thought had been heard an owl flew through the Great Hall dropping a parcel on the table, she quickly unwrapped it.
"Grammy's Journal," she said flipping through the pages,
"She doesn't let anyone touch that," Rhea said, showing Phoebe the note attached to the back.
'I leave this with you my little Phoebe,
read it carefully, read it cautiously,
it'll show you every answer you ever need,
- Grammy'
