Chapter 22

•Edited•

~Claire~

Camellia, Lily and I are sitting in the Gryffindor Quidditch stands with Remus and Peter, waiting to see James and Sirius.

Today – which being late May – is Gryffindor versus Slytherin. The last Quidditch match of the year. Also the game that determines which house wins the Quidditch Cup.

I came because I like watching Quidditch and wanted to see my boyfriend. But everyone else just came to support.
Lily being the exception, came because Camellia and I made her.

"Why am I even here?!" Lily complained as I snatched her book out of her hands.

"Because this is your house team!
You should support it," Camellia stated.

Lily just huffed and crossed her arms as she looked ahead, waiting to see something.

It was a nice day, the sun was out, there weren't many clouds, and the birds were chirping.

And no rain.

I wasn't huge on hot weather. I liked Fall and Spring.
They weren't to hot, and they weren't to cold, and there's a good amount of rain in both of them.

I was interrupted from my thoughts though as the commentator, Luke Jordan, announced the teams as they flew onto the field.

I was only really watching James and Sirius. James is a Chaser, and Sirius is a Beater.

We all watched in anticipation as Madam Hooch threw the Quaffle up in the air, and the game began.

"Potter catches the Quaffle, and he's off!"

The Chasers flew around, fighting over the Quaffle.
The Beaters smacked the Bludgers across the field.
The Keepers blocked the Quaffle.
But only one Seeker caught the Snitch.

"He's caught the Snitch! Gryffindor wins!"

But that wasn't the best part. The best part was the reaction it got.

All of the Gryffindors cheered obviously. But one Gryffindor cheered a hundred times louder.

Lily Evans.

"YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!! WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!"

Lily continued chanting all the way to the Gryffindor common room, where a party began.

Even as the music blasted, Lily's voice could still be heard.
"We won! We won! We won! Claire we won! Camellia we won!"

She only stopped when another voice came.

"We did indeed Evans."

Lily froze. Her face heated up, and her eyes narrowed.

"What do you want Potter?" Lily asked, not bothering to face the boy behind her.
"I just wanted to talk to you," James said. Everyone but Lily knew that James would kill if it meant he could have just one normal conversation with Lily.
"What do you really want?" Lily asked annoyingly.

Camellia and I just stood back, trying not to intrude.
But seriously, this was love in the making!
How could we not just listen?!

"I mean, I want you to go on a date with me, but talking is really what I wanted to do," James stated honestly.
"Just, leave me alone, Potter," Lily exclaimed, walking over to the punch table that was undoubtedly spiked with Firewhiskey.

"Well James," I started with a grin. "You are about to witness drunk Lily."

James looked at me with a raised eyebrow, but shook it off.

"Does she really hate me that much?" James asked, looking longingly at Lily, who was now realizing she had just chugged a full glass of spiked punch.
"What? No. She likes you, she just doesn't realize it yet," I stated, and Camellia nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I'd recommend next year you try and mature some," Camellia said.

James looked at us with a bewildered expression as we ranted about ways he can get her to like him.

"You know what girls, we should talk later."

The party continued.
The music continued.
The drinks continued to be drank.
And everyone was pretty much drunk.

Well except for me.

Well, me and another.

"Well hello. Only took me three hours to find you," Came a voice from behind me.

I spun around on my heels, and came face to face with Sirius Black.

"Hey, I haven't seen you since the game! Congratulations by the way," I said with a smile.
"Thank you," Sirius said, kissing my forehead afterwards.
"And how are you?" He added.

I shrugged and looked around.

"Bored. I thought everyone was drunk," I admitted.
"Oh they are. It's just you and me," Sirius laughed.

Just a second after he finished the word, there was a bang. Them James appeared on top of the table, looking like he was ready to do a speech.

"I should probably go see what he's going to do," Sirius stated.

I nodded, and he ran off to James, who was just starting his Lily speech.

I was watching Sirius help James down from the table, when another voice came from behind me.

"Hey beautiful."

I froze, slowly turning around to find William Nott, leaning against the wall right behind me.

"William," I acknowledged.

He nodded, leaning towards me until I could feel his breath on my face.

His breath smelt of alcohol.

Very strong alcohol.

"William, you're drunk. Why don't I help you to your dormitory?" I asked, backing up until he had me pinned to the wall in the corner of the room.
"Maybe if you stay with me?" He offered.
"N-No William, I have a boyfriend and I want you to stop," I managed to get out as he leant against me.

Just as he leant in to kiss me, Sirius appeared out of the corner of my eye.
He appeared to be helping a girl get another girl off of her brother.

I looked back at William, who was now an inch away from my mouth, but right before his lips met mine, I screamed.

"Sirius!" I exclaimed.

I tried as hard as I could to get William off of me, but he continued to try and kiss me.

Sirius spun around as I continued to scream for help.

He ran over and pulled William off of me with so much force I almost fell to the ground.

I looked up to see that Sirius had William – who now had a black eye and blood streaming from his nose – pinned to the wall.

"IF YOU EVER, AND I MEAN EVER, LAY A FINGER ON MY GIRLFRIEND, I WILL PERSONALLY DRAG YOU BY THE HAIR, DOWN TO THE BLACK LAKE, AND LET THE MERPEOPLE USE YOU FOR DINNER!!" Sirius threatened.

William, even though drunk, got the message and ran off to his dorm.

Sirius was breathing heavily, and he kept clenching and unclenching his fists.

"S-Sirius?" I asked shakily.

Sirius turned to me, still breathing heavily.

"Yeah?"

I shakily walked towards him, before throwing my arms around him in a tight embrace.

"Thank you," I mumbled before pressing my lips against his.

He replied immediately, gently pressing me against the wall as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

The kiss didn't last very long, as drunk Camellia had decided to do a speech.

"Excuse me! Excuse me! I'd like to make a speech!" Camellia exclaimed.

Sirius and I pulled apart, looking up at the very much drunk Camellia who was standing on the table.

"I'd just like to say, that I am so proud, of my fellow Gryffindors!" She started, taking a second to take a chug from her cup of punch.
"Not only for this game today, and for winning the cup!"
Chug.
"But because of the things we accomplished this year!"
Another chug.
"My two best friends, have found love!" Can you guess? Yep. Another chug.
"Well at least one of them."

Sirius nudged me, and I playfully slapped his arm, as we had both realized who she was referring to.

"One of my best friends."
Chug.
"Clairesse Bennet."
Chug.
"Fell in love with the one and only, Sirius Black."
Chug.
"Wait a minute. Can somebody get me some punch? I think I ran out at least five chugs ago?"
