Chapter 31
•Edited•
~Claire~
We were already a week into the holidays. Meaning we only had a week left.
Which also meant that it's already been the first half of the holidays.
So that means Remus, Peter, Camellia and Lily should be here soon.
Besides the excitement we were feeling to see our girlfriend/friends, the morning started normally.
I woke up next to Sirius. Snuck out of bed. Then took a shower.
Normal.
I changed into something warm. Today being a Christmas sweater with black leggings and cream colored fluffy socks.
Normal. Especially the socks. I love fluffy socks.
I put my hair in a messy bun. Brushed my teeth. And then put a little bit of make up on.
Again. Normal.
By the time I was done, it was already 8:30.
So I woke Sirius up. And while he got ready, I helped Euphemia with breakfast.
Fleamont read the Daily Prophet while we cooked. Ranting to Euphemia and I about the Minister of Magic, who was still trying to convince everyone not to worry about Voldemort. Even with the mass amount of Death Eater attacks.
By the time breakfast was ready, Sirius and James had joined us and we ate.
"So when is everyone coming?" Euphemia asked.
"Remus will probably be here first. Then probably Lily and Camellia. Peter will definitely come last," James answered.
"Camellia will come before Lily," I giggled.
"Why do you say that?" James asked confused.
"Because she knows Remus will be here first," I laughed, earning a snort from Fleamont, whilst Sirius and James joined me with the laughter.
Euphemia grinned as she stood up from the table. Grabbing as many empty dishes as possible.
I helped her with the dishes, having light conversation as we went.
"So is Lily good for James?" She asked suddenly.
I froze for a second. But not wanting to worry her, I quickly nodded.
The truth was, I didn't know what Lily was thinking.
She's almost done with the dare. Whether or not she's going to stay with him or not is unknown.
"Lily's definitely the one for James," I stated, and that was the truth.
Even if she does break up with him, she'll go back to him. I know that for a fact.
Euphemia smiled and continued with the dishes.
When we were done, we sat down in the living room with the boys and talked as we waited for the first person to arrive.
Who we were all betting was Remus.
"So, Camellia. I've never seen her before. Is she nice?" Euphemia asked.
"Definitely," James answered.
"One of the nicest," Sirius said, wrapping his arm around my waist.
"The nicest you'll meet," I supplied.
Before we could continue, a knock at the door sounded.
Euphemia stood up to get the door. While I grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill.
The door opened, and a minute later Euphemia was walking back with Remus.
"Remus Lupin, 12:16," I said as I wrote it down on paper.
"What did I do?" Remus asked as he sat down next to James.
"You won first place! Here's your prize!" I exclaimed.
Everyone watched me with a raised eyebrow.
"What, is my prize?" Remus asked after a few seconds.
"Wait for it," I said.
Another few seconds passed before another knock came from the door.
"Ta da! There's your prize!" I exclaimed when Euphemia brought Camellia back.
Remus grinned and stood up to greet his girlfriend as I wrote down Camellia's time.
"Camellia!" I greeted as she finished with Remus.
"Claire!" Camellia mocked, giving me a hug.
Soon Lily joined the hug, ignoring James's protests.
"Lily! I want a hug!" James moaned after Camellia and I hugged her.
She walked towards him, his arms wide open as he waited for a hug. But she walked right past him and hugged Euphemia instead.
James stood there, spluttering until she finally hugged him, pecking his cheek as she did.
It was 2:13 when Peter finally arrived.
"Pete, you got last place," I said as he walked in, rubbing his arm.
No response.
"Peter? Are you okay? What happened to your arm?" I asked as he continued rubbing his arm.
"Huh? Oh! Uh, some random kid through a piece of ice at me," He spoke hesitantly.
"Would you like me to look at it?" Euphemia asked.
"No! I mean...no," Peter said quickly.
Nobody said anything for a second until Fleamont spoke, "Why don't you all go upstairs while Euphemia and I start on dinner?"
We all nodded and went to James's room.
James and Lily sat on the bed. Remus and Camellia sat on the small couch. Sirius and I on the floor in front of the couch. And Peter sat on the edge of the bed.
"What do you guys want to do?" James asked after a while of just sitting there.
"We could play Spin the Bottle or something," Peter suggested.
Everyone just stared at him.
"No offense, Wormtail. But that was probably one of the worst ideas you've ever had," Remus said, earning a slap on the arm by Camellia.
"How about we just, talk?" Camellia suggested.
Everyone nodded in agreement, so we just talked about what we've done lately.
"Well. I spent a week alone with Petunia. And her boyfriend Vernon came over a lot. So that was terrible," Lily said.
"I spent the week with my family," Camellia smiled.
"Oh yeah. How's Molly?" I asked, recalling when Camellia introduced Lily and I to her sister Molly.
"She's great, her and Arthur just had their third," Camellia said with a huge smile.
Lily and I started squealing as we talked about how cute Molly's kids are.
"Okay ladies. Let's move on to Peter," James said, ignoring the glares the three of us sent him.
"Oh. Well. My week was spent with my mum," He said simply.
He made no move to continue, so I went.
"Well. Sirius met my mum," I recalled.
"How did that go?" Lily questioned.
"I thought it went good," I said, looking at Sirius who nodded in agreement.
"Well that's good," Camellia nodded.
"My week was awful" Remus summed up.
"How so?" Camellia asked.
"I spent it with my grandfather," He shuddered.
"What's so bad about your grandfather?" I questioned.
"He compares everything to Christmas," James snorted.
"Everything?" Lily asked.
"He calls me Rudolph," Remus mumbled, causing Lily and I to burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" James asked, voicing Sirius, Camellia and Peter's thoughts.
"R-Rudolph, is a reindeer," I giggled.
"A rain-deer?" Peter questioned.
"No, a rein-deer. It's like a deer, but they help Santa Claus," Lily explained.
"Santa who?" They all asked.
We gave up on explaining after that, and moved on to James.
"I listened to those two all week," He groaned, pointing at Sirius and I.
Sirius and I rolled our eyes, opening our mouths to retort but were interrupted by Euphemia.
"Dinner's ready!" She called.
So we all ate. Euphemia and Fleamont did dishes. Then the seven of us stayed downstairs in the living room, talking and joking here and there.
But around 7:30, we decided what we'd do next. And I wasn't to thrilled.
"How about, us girls stay in one room tonight. While you guys stay in another?" Lily asked, pointing at me, Camellia, and herself. Then pointing at the guys.
Everyone but Sirius and I agreed. But nobody seemed to notice the two of us as our eyes met.
Ever since that first night that I slept in Sirius's room with him, I haven't had any nightmares.
It's almost like Sirius protects me from them.
But I'm scared that if I'm not with him tonight, the nightmares will come back.
But I pushed that thought to the back of my head, and followed Lily and Camellia to one of the guest bedrooms. While the guys gathered in James's bedroom.
~Sirius~
As soon as we heard the girls close their door, Peter spoke, "Should we spy on them?"
We all turned to the shorter boy. Not really knowing what to say to him.
"What?" Remus said right when James said, "Sure."
"What no!" Remus and I both said as James and Peter walked over to the room the girls were in.
"And why not?" James asked, walking back over to us so that the girls didn't hear him.
"Because, they're our girlfriends!" I said, not really coming up with a proper excuse not to spy on them.
So after Remus ran out of
excuses – which only took one excuse to do so – we sighed and walked over to their door.
It wasn't hard to listen in on their conversation, as the walls are really thin and the girls were not really trying to be quiet.
So we all just sat outside the door.
"What do you want to do?" Camellia's voice asked.
"I don't know," Came Claire's voice.
"We could play a game," Lily's suggested.
"But what game?" Camellia questioned.
"We could make up a game," Lily said thoughtfully.
It was quiet for a few minutes as the girls thought. James had to hold his hand over Peter's mouth so that the girls didn't hear his loud breathing.
"We could just, ask random questions that everyone has to answer truthfully," Claire started, "Like, if I asked if you had a boyfriend. We'd all say yes."
"Ok," Lily and Camellia agreed.
We all looked at James who was mouthing, 'See? This is something to eavesdrop on.'
"Have you talked about your future with your boyfriend?" Lily asked, adding a "I haven't" to answer for herself.
"A little bit," Camellia said.
"Uh, maybe more than a little bit?" Claire answered, but it came out more as a question.
"More than a little bit?" Lily repeated.
"Well. We know what we want to do marriage wise, house wise......everything wise," Claire tried to explain.
The guys looked over at me with raised eyebrows.
'What?' I mouthed.
"Moving on! Have you told your boyfriend you love him?" Claire questioned.
"Not yet," Lily said.
"Yet?" Claire repeated.
"Oh shove off! Have you told Sirius you love him?" Lily questioned.
"Of course I have," Claire answered.
The girls were silent for a little before Camellia spoke.
"And you really mean it?"
"Of course I mean it. I wouldn't tell him I love him if I didn't love him," Claire replied.
"Aww! Claire's in love!" Camellia and Lily both cooed.
"Well yeah. That's what you'd call it," Claire answered in a duh tone.
"You two are going to get married and have little babies!" Lily squealed.
There was another silence from the girls, and as the guys looked over at me I couldn't help the blood that rushed to my face.
"You're not denying it!" Camellia gasped.
"Well. I mean. I'd like to get married. And I want kids," Claire mumbled, and it wouldn't have been heard if the walls weren't so thin.
"Aww! I can imagine your cute little babies! They'll have your hair and Sirius's eyes and oh my goodness!" Lily exclaimed.
I blushed a dark red as the guys looked over at me with grins.
"Well I can imagine you and James's kids. They'll have James's hair and your eyes, and they'll probably have your bad temper," Claire quipped.
Now it was James's turn to blush.
"And I'll just lay back and enjoy watching you two suffer getting stretch marks and grey hairs when you're only thirty," Camellia laughed.
"Who says you're not having kids?" Lily questioned.
"Uh, me. Remus. The two people who would have to take care of one," Camellia answered, also in a duh tone.
Remus just shook his head at his girlfriend, highly amused.
"Whatever. At least I'm not afraid to admit I want kids," Claire claimed.
"Yeah. With Sirius," Lily added.
"Ha, you want Sirius's babies" Camellia laughed.
"Well I'm sure as heck not going to have someone else's baby!" Claire exclaimed, making the two girls laugh.
The guys were holding their hands over their mouths. Trying not to laugh as I just smiled sheepishly.
"What about when we get married? Who's going to get Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor?" Camellia asked.
"You are definitely getting Maid of Honor at my wedding," Claire said immediately.
"Me? Why not Lily? She's a good planner," Camellia stated.
"Because my weddings going to be simple. Lily will never help plan a simple wedding," Claire spoke.
"I won't deny that. But you and Sirius have already gotten that far?" Lily questioned.
"No. And I don't care if Sirius disagrees. Nothing about it will be traditional," Claire stated.
"What about the dress?" Lily asked.
"Definitely not the dress," Claire responded.
"Don't worry Lily. You can be Maid of Honor at my wedding?" Camellia said.
"Thank you Camellia. I guess I'll make Claire mine," Lily said.
"You guess?" Claire asked offended.
"Well. Camellia will be yours. I'll be Camellia's. So you can be mine. Plus we all know that Sirius would be James's Best Man," Lily explained.
I looked over at James and grinned, while he just shrugged.
"True," Claire admitted.
"Well. Since I'm not going to be a mother, who's gonna make me godmother?" Camellia questioned, and you could practically see the grin on her face.
"Don't worry. You'll be the godmother of Sirius and I's kid. They'll probably be just as annoying as Sirius. Sure to give you plenty of grey hairs," Claire stated.
I didn't bother to protest against that.
"Meh, at least it's something," Camellia said.
"Claire will be the godmother of James and I's kid for the same reason she'll be my Maid of Honor," Lily said easily.
"I'll just pretend like you just said some heart warming reason as to why you'd make me godmother," Claire laughed.
~Claire~
The girls and I knew that the guys were outside the door.
And frankly, we didn't care.
Actually, we were waiting to hear if one of the guys would start laughing at one of the other guys.
It's why Lily's been acting like she really does want a future with James too.
Well. Actually. We all know Lily wants a future with James. She just won't admit it.
"So, final thoughts on boyfriends?" Lily asked, grinning at Camellia and I as we quietly walked to the door.
"Yeah, they're weirdos," Camellia and I said as we opened the door.
The guys all looked up at us with sheepish smiles.
"Hi," Peter waved.
"Go to bed weirdos," Camellia said, pushing the boys back.
And that's what they did.
The guys went to sleep in their room, and us girls fell asleep in the room we were staying in.

I gasped as I sat up in bed, my hand against my chest as I took deep breaths.
'It's just a dream.'
I repeated in my head.
'Sirius is in the other room asleep.'
I told myself.
But no matter how many times I thought it, I couldn't calm myself down.
So I pulled the duvet off of me, and slipped out of bed. Glad that I wore fluffy socks to keep me from the coldness of the floor.
I quietly opened the door to the room the guys were in.
It was dark, obviously, the only light coming from the street lamp glowing through the window.
And it wasn't hard to find Sirius. He was asleep on the floor, a blanket keeping him from the coldness outside of the blanket.
I bent down to the sleeping figure, shaking him slightly.
He scrunched his face up at being woken up. But after opening one eye slightly to see who it was, he scooted over, patting the spot next to him and lifting the blanket slightly.
I crawled under the covers, allowing Sirius to wrap his arms around my waist.
"Another one?" He whispered.
"Yeah," I replied.
He pulled me closer to his chest – which was warm as usual – and kissed my temple.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Sirius. A lot."

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but The Light In My Darkness and The Unexpected Love took me one month to write.
I've been working on this story for almost five months!
So I wanted to finish the story before summer ended, or at least to where they had graduated Hogwarts. So I've been publishing chapters everyday for the past few days.
And I usually know things like, this chapters going to have Sirius and Claire say they love each other, and exactly ten chapters later they'll talk about marriage.
THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!
NONE OF THE CHAPTERS I'VE PUBLISHED IN THE LAST WEEK HAVE BEEN PLANNED!!!!!!!!!!
THEY WEREN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO GO HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!
THIS STORY IS NEVER GOING TO END!!!
Anyways, I hope you're having a nice day!
