Chapter 39

~Claire~
"Lily our little girl is all grown up!" The voice of Camellia sobbed.
"I know!" Lily's voice exclaimed.
I groaned as my eyes fluttered open.
I looked around. Seeing James, Remus and Peter sitting up in their beds while Camellia and Lily sobbed into each others arms at the foot of the bed I lay in.
Turning to my side I spotted Sirius, my handsome boyfri-
"BLOODY HELL!!!" I exclaimed, falling off the side of the bed.
All heads snapped in my direction. Including Sirius's who just woke up by me.
"What happened?!" Sirius questioned worriedly.
"We're engaged!" I exclaimed like it was new information.
"Um, yeah I believe so?" Sirius stated with a questioning tone.
"I can't believe this is happening! I'm engaged! I'm bloody engaged! Bloody hell I'm engaged to Sirius Black! Ha! I did it! All of your fan girls are going to have to suck it up!" I exclaimed, pointing at Sirius at the end.
Sirius burst out laughing while everyone else stared at me bewilderedly.
"Oh don't look at me like that!" I pouted.
I was met by silence.
"Oh c'mon! I feel like a mad person," I stated.
"I mean you kind of are. You're engaged to Sirius," James spoke.
"Oi!" Sirius exclaimed while I started laughing.
"Sorry Sirius, but this dormitory is only for un-engaged people. You're going to have to get what's yours and move out," Remus stated.
Sirius stood from the bed. Walking over to where I lay on the ground.
"Ok. I'll be off then," Sirius announced, picking me up bridal style.
"Wait what?" I questioned.
"I'm taking what's mine," Sirius spoke.
Lily, Camellia and I all awed while the guys faked gagging.
"No wait! You can't take her yet! She hasn't told us the details!" Lily begged.
Sirius sighed. Placing me on his bed and sitting behind me. Wrapping his arms around my waist.
"What do you want to know?" I questioned.
"Did you kiss?" Camellia questioned.
"Yes."
"Did he dip you when you were dancing?" Lily asked.
"Yep."
"Was he cute?" Camellia squealed.
"Per usual."
"Did he compliment your outfit?" Lily questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Sí."
"Did you just say 'Sí'?" Peter asked from the corner of the room.
"Sí."
"It means 'Yes' in Spanish Pete," Remus informed him.
"Oh."
"Ok! Now recite the speech!" Camellia ordered.
"Uh," I mumbled with a grin as I looked up at Sirius.
"The speech! You know! What did he say when he proposed?!" Lily urged.
"He said 'Marry me'," I replied.
Lily and Camellia were silent as their faces slowly turned red.
"And?" Camellia asked, struggling to keep her composure.
"And I said yes," I spoke warily.
"SIRIUS BLACK!!!" Lily and Camellia screeched.
"Sí?" Sirius winced.
"That means yes," Peter informed Lily and Camellia. Believing he was being helpful.
"You said two words," Lily stated, her face redder than her hair.
"Technically I said three words; Claire, marry, and me," Sirius stated.
I nodded to confirm his statement.
"You didn't even use her full name!" Camellia exclaimed.
"She definitely would've said no if I used her full name," Sirius spoke, and I nodded again to confirm.
The girls sat there fuming for a little before I spoke.
"C'mon girls. I know that you want a romantic speech and whatnot, but I'm not you guys. I loved how he proposed, and it obviously worked," I stated, holding my left hand up to show the ring.
Lily and Camellia's eyes widened at the ring. And with a deep breath, they both started screaming.
"Give me your hand Claire!" Lily exclaimed as she lunged forward.
She grabbed my hand, examining the ring with Camellia.
"You've already seen the ring," Sirius spoke.
"Yeah but now it's actually on her hand, Black!" Camellia scowled.
"Aw, in less than a year you guys won't be able to use that one, cause I'll be a Black too!" I cooed.
Lily and Camellia froze.
"Less than a year?" Lily repeated.
"Oh yeah. Sirius and I both agreed we want to get married as soon as possible," I explained.
"B-But you're seventeen!" Camellia exclaimed.
"Okay, I'll rephrase. We'll get married sometime after July, so we'll both be at least eighteen when we get married," I stated.
"But that's way to young!" Lily protested. Camellia nodding frantically in agreement.
"You're never to young for anything," I spoke.
Lily and Camellia stood in front of me biting their lips.
"B-Bu- oh fine! You're clearly happy with him!" Lily gave in.
"I suppose it's you're decision," Camellia agreed.
"Yay!" I exclaimed.
"Did you get her parents blessings though?" Lily asked as she turned to Sirius.
"I got her mums. But I don't think I had a chance at getting her dad's blessing," Sirius answered.
"Wait you got my mums blessing? When?" I questioned, whipping around to face Sirius who still lay behind me.
"When we met her over the holidays," Sirius spoke.
"I didn't know that. We'll have to visit her sometime over the summer," I suggested.
"Ok," Sirius nodded.
Remus cleared his through from across the room.
"Hate to break it to you. But breakfast ends in twenty minutes," Remus stated.
"What?!" I questioned, jumping out of Sirius's arms and running to the girls dormitory.
I quickly dressed, brushed my teeth and hair, and applied a little mascara and lipgloss.
I checked my jewelry – learning my lesson from last night – and smiled at the beautiful ring.
Remembering the time, I ran down the stairs to see that everyone was waiting on me.
"Let's go! I need breakfast!" I exclaimed, grabbing Sirius's hand and running out of the common room.
I pulled him all the way to the Great Hall, where we sat and peacefully ate pancakes.
I closed my eyes as I savored the pancake. Only opening my eyes when I heard chuckling from my right.
"What?" I questioned as Sirius continued to laugh.
"You're so adorable," He laughed, taking a bite of his bacon.
I shrugged, waving at Lily, James, Camellia, Remus and Peter as they walked through the doors.
"Took you long enough," I laughed.
"Oh shush," Lily grumbled, grabbing a piece of bacon.
"You all better hurry up. You have five minutes till it all disappears," I stated.
Peter's eyes widened as he began shoveling food into his mouth.
Everyone else rolled their eyes as they reached for bacon.

Charms was the only class I had with Sirius today. So Sirius was constantly trying to get my attention.
We were sitting in the middle of the classroom. Sirius sitting on my right, and Camellia was sitting with Lily a few tables down in front of us.
Professor Flitwick was talking about non-verbal spells. Which we had gone over last year.
Sirius's head was laying on my shoulder while I copied down notes. My right hand moving along the piece of parchment whilst I used my left hand to hold the parchment down.
Well. That and so that I could admire my engagement ring whilst I took notes.
I could feel every girls eyes on me in the room. Some were cooing; Lily and Camellia. And some were scowling; literally every other girl in the class.
I could tell Sirius hadn't noticed, as he was now happily doodling on a piece of parchment.
The girl behind me was glaring daggers. And I could tell she had noticed the ring.
However she made sure I knew she was aware.
"Hey. Bennet," She called as Professor Flitwick scurried out of the classroom after Professor McGonagall had called him out into the corridor.
"Yes?" I questioned, turning around in my chair as all eyes fell on me.
I knew Sirius was listening. But he continued to doodle.
"What's with the ring?" Said the girl I recognized as Haylee Nott. One of the girls who had tried convincing me Sirius was in love with her.
"What's with the attitude?" I quipped.
"Answer my question Bennet," Haylee scowled.
Sirius lifted his head up. But not quite turning towards us.
"It's called an engagement ring, Nott," I stated.
Every girl in the classroom – minus Lily and Camellia – groaned as they knew they had no chance anymore.
However Haylee hadn't figured it out.
"Who would want to marry you?" Haylee laughed.
"Me," Sirius claimed, turning around to face her.
"W-What?" Haylee spluttered.
"I want to marry her. Which is why I proposed to her. That is what's up with the ring," Sirius growled.
"B-But you're Sirius Black! You don't just marry someone!" Haylee exclaimed.
"And why not?" Sirius questioned.
"B-Because you've been with every girl in this room! Why would you want to marry her?!" Haylee screeched.
"I actually haven't been with every girl in this room. Only one. Claire," Sirius spoke calmly.
"That's a lie!" Haylee accused.
I rolled my eyes at her. She was bloody annoying.
"How is that a lie?" I asked, watching as she opened and closed her mouth.
"B-Because he's Sirius Black!" Haylee spoke like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Well spotted. Now answer the question," I quipped.
"Oh c'mon! He's slept with almost every girl in Hogwarts!" Haylee exclaimed.
"That's not true," Sirius muttered.
"What?" Everyone who heard him questioned.
Sirius sighed, and as I realized what he was doing, I was filled with admiration for the boy I get to call my fiancé.
"Those were all lies. Girls told people that so that they could get back at their boyfriends. Or so that they could make themselves popular. I never did anything about it, and I regret that. But I'm not putting up with it anymore. I love Claire and only Claire."

The news spread like wildfire.
Soon all of Hogwarts knew of Sirius's fake reputation, and Sirius and I's engagement.
I didn't like all of the attention I was getting because of this. But I couldn't do anything about it.
Lily had threatened a group of girls that kept trying to talk to Sirius and I. Camellia had actually tried to chase a guy who had tried flirting with me down the hall. And would've killed him if it weren't for Remus. Sirius, of course, eventually found out and had to be held back by both James and Remus.
A lot of people congratulated us. Some shook their heads disappointedly. Others scowled.
The people who scowled were of course all of the girls who wanted to be with Sirius.
Neither Sirius or I cared what others thought though.
N.E.W.T.'s started next month, and it kind of terrified me.
I knew I wasn't bad at any of my classes. But that didn't mean they didn't stress me. Lily, Camellia and I studied a lot. Sometimes joined by Remus. But it only added to my stress.
But I also had Sirius.
Sirius Black. My fiancé.
Fiancé.
I had become attached to the word.
To think that I would be marrying Sirius Black in less than a year was crazy.
Something I could look forward to.
Something I could think about without being stressed, but happy instead.

Kind of a lame chapter, but they're almost done with Hogwarts!
I don't really have much to say, as for once I've actually posted on time. According to the schedule that is (which I will not be elaborating on seeing as every time I announce a schedule I don't stick to it!).
But I hope you're all having a fantastic day!!!
