Chapter 45
•Edited•
~Claire~
"I still can't believe you bought a house!" Camellia exclaimed as she walked through the front door with Lily and I.
"Well I don't regret it. It's given me a new found energy," I spoke, shoving the key I had previously used to unlock the door into my purse. Camellia and Lily stared in awe as we slowly moved to the kitchen.
The house wasn't huge but it was definitely beautiful. The dark wood floor went perfectly with the cream colored walls. The place had of course been decorated to perfection, courtesy of myself.
As we walked through the arched doorway that revealed a huge kitchen that would make any woman squeal, Lily and Camellia started jumping up and down squealing.
"Go ahead and sit down, I'll make sandwiches," I said, motioning to the three bar stools by the counter.
Lily and Camellia did so as I opened the fridge for turkey and cheese, knowing that the girls preferred turkey over ham any day.
"So how's life living with James and his parents?" I asked, looking up at Lily.
"It's nice, but we're looking to buy a house. Or at least get a flat," Lily replied.
"And you? How's the flat with Remus?" I questioned Camellia.
"It's nice, but I think after seeing this beautiful house I'll be considering buying a house as well," Camellia answered.
I nodded in agreement as I turned to grab plates.
"Oh wow, Sirius actually did the dishes," I murmured, finding that the sink was empty and dishes filled the cabinets.
"Is that not normal?" Lily asked from behind me.
"I mean, today was the first time I had asked him to do anything related to cleaning. We've only been here for a week or so and we've gone out to eat most of the time," I answered warily.
"Did you think he wouldn't do it?" Camellia questioned.
"I don't know, I just kind of thought he'd forget or something," I mumbled under my breath.
I shrugged it off and grabbed the plates.
"I'm horrible, not trusting Sirius to do something," I laughed, handing the girls their sandwiches.
"Where was it the guys had gone?" Lily asked.
"I think they said they were going to pick something up, but they didn't say what," I answered, taking my own sandwich.
"Well, in the mean time. Anything else on the wedding?" Camellia questioned.
"Well it's already the end of August, so we've got a little over two months till the wedding," I shrugged.
"Have you picked out the spot? Or the cake? Or the dress? Of course you haven't found a dress I would've known, but still, what is it you're thinking?" Lily asked, flailing her arms around.
I rolled my eyes at her and laughed.
"The wedding's going to be here. Camellia's going to be making the cake. And for the dress, I don't know, but I don't think it'll be that hard to find," I shrugged.
"It's a dress Claire. A wedding dress. What color do you want it? Do you want it short or long? Do you want a tail? A matching veil maybe? What about a mermaid style, or maybe princess? It's hard to find dresses Claire!" Lily exclaimed.
"It'll be white or cream, I don't know which one yet. It'll be short, so no tail. And I'm not a huge fan of mermaid or princess styled dresses anyway," I sighed, placing my elbows on the counter where I sat opposite them. My hands holding my head up.
"Okay, well we still need to find it," Lily sighed.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm just not looking forward to it," I grumbled.
"What?! How are you not looking forward to finding a dress?!" Camellia and Lily exclaimed.
"I dunno. I'm just not that interested in finding a big mountain of fabric that's only going to be uncomfortable," I shrugged.
"You know there are wedding dresses that are simple and comfortable," Camellia spoke.
"I'll believe it when I see it," I laughed.
"Then that is my goal as Maid of Honor. To find you a simple and comfortable wedding dress," Camellia claimed.
I laughed once more, knowing full well that they made dresses that I'd like.
I opened my mouth to speak when the door flew open and Peter ran in. He leaned against the wall to catch his breath. Staying there for a moment as he breathed heavily.
"Peter?" I questioned after awhile.
"R-Remus wants you guys to see the most awesome thing," Peter squeaked.
"Remus does?" Camellia repeated.
"Well, no. Sirius and James told me to say Remus said that. Remus said it was stupid," Peter sighed, finally catching his breath.
"That's what I figured," Camellia laughed, leading the way to the front door.
"No, they're in the garage," Peter called.
I turned around to send a questioning glance in his direction.
"Why are they in the garage?" I asked.
"You'll see," Peter grinned shyly.
We walked over to the rarely used garage door and turned the handle.
The door pushed open to reveal James and Sirius huddled around a covered object, and Remus leaning against the wall with an unamused expression.
None of the guys said anything until we were all in the room, and even after that they just grinned – or in Remus's case, sighed.
"Well?" Lily finally spoke.
"Well, you're about to see the greatest thing I have ever purchased. The one thing I will never regret buying," Sirius spoke dramatically.
"Oh really, so you'd regret buying my engagement ring," I smirked.
"W-what?! No! Okay, other than that!" Sirius exclaimed.
I laughed as he grew flustered.
"Oh just show them!" Remus groaned.
"Okay, behold, the most beautiful thing in the world-" Sirius started.
"Oh is that so?" I interrupted.
"Ugh! Okay, everything I'm saying does not include Claire!" Sirius stated.
"Then continue," I urged.
With a sigh Sirius pulled the sheet that had been covering the object off, revealing a motorbike.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" I groaned.
"Are you for real?!" Lily exclaimed.
"That is so stupid!" Camellia laughed.
"I told you," Remus spoke.
"Oh shush Moony!" Sirius grumbled.
I laughed slightly as I shook my head.
"I hope you didn't spend to much money on this," I laughed.
"Uh...no, not that much," Sirius mumbled.
"Mhmm, okay, you better use this all the time," I stated.
"Course I will!" Sirius grinned.
"Course you will, and you'll be giving me a ride?" I asked.
"Course I will!" Sirius repeated, his grin widening.
"Claire!" Lily exclaimed.
"What?" I laughed.
"Why are you supporting this?!" Camellia questioned.
"Because he's wanted one since I've known him!" I exclaimed, smiling widely.
They stood in awe as I laughed aloud.
"If you're not going to say anything, then I'll be going," I shrugged, walking over to where Sirius stood leaning against the motorbike.
I realized as I got closer, that the bike was rather large, and that I was rather short.
"Um....Sirius? Babe? A little help?" I mumbled, trying and failing to climb on top of the bike.
Everyone in the room laughed as Sirius lifted me by my waist and placed me on top of the bike.
"Well this is nice," I laughed, placing my hands on the handles and scooting forward to get comfortable.
Lily, Camellia, and Remus shook their heads in amusement, whilst Sirius, James, and Peter laughed.
"Have you rode it yet?" I asked, turning to Sirius.
"Nope, you'll be experiencing it with me," Sirius grinned.
"So we'll be dying today, that's nice. Not even married yet," I sighed, grabbing the helmet and placing it over my head.
Camellia laughed, bidding goodbye as Remus grabbed her hand and they apparated away.
Lily and James did the same, and soon Peter did as well.
"Okay c'mon!" I said, patting the spot in front of me.
Sirius chuckled as he climbed onto the motorbike, turning it on and slowly backing out of the garage.
I squealed as we hit the curb, laughing as I clung to Sirius.
Sirius laughed with me as we rode down the road.
The wind blew in my face and through the hair that wasn't covered by the helmet. I held my arms around Sirius tightly as we went faster, laughing aloud as we went.
We weren't really going anywhere, as our house was in the middle of a forest there really was nowhere to go. However, this meant the road to get on the main roads was very long, and was perfect for a motorbike.
"Is this all you ever wanted?" I laughed.
"Yep, a motorbike, and a woman I get to call my fiancé riding it with me," Sirius replied.
"You're an idiot," I giggled.
"Ah, but you love me," Sirius spoke, and I could tell he was smirking.
"That I do."

Kind of an uneventful chapter, but it's a nice thing to have after the death of Scott.
They're able to live their lives, and whilst the memory of Scott will forever be with them, they're able to see it as just a happy memory rather than a reason to sulk.
I don't have a lot to say other than that, but I hope you're all having a wonderful day!
