"I just think that you looked very beautiful in that princess styled one," Mum sighed as we drove to the house – Sirius and I's house, that is.
"I agree, you looked gorgeous in that one!" Lily exclaimed.
"I told you two, I'm going to be walking in mud. A long dress is going to get ruined, and I also just don't like long dresses!" I explained for the millionth time that day.
"I know but-" Mum started, only to be cut off by Camellia, "You heard the bride, she didn't like it!"

Lily snorted as Camellia rambled.

"You just want to prove you're a good Maid of Honor," Lily mumbled under her breath.
"I'm just saying!" Camellia spoke.
"So you don't agree that she looked beautiful in that dress?" Lily questioned.
"I didn't say that! All I said was that she didn't like it, and you should respect that!" Camellia scowled.
"Mhmm, and you-" Mum started, and this time I cut her off, "Can you all shut your mouths? I like the dress I got, and I'd rather not start arguing over a dress I honestly hated!"

The rest of the car ride was quiet. The only time someone spoke was when Mum pointed out we were there.

"Finally! Sirius will show me some love, as none of you seem too!" I scowled, hopping out of the car and skipping to the front door.

The door was unlocked as I had asked Sirius to unlock it over the phone.

"Sirius!" I exclaimed as the door opened.
"Claire!" Sirius called back as he came walking down the stairs.

I flung my arms around him and kissed his cheek.

"You'll love me right?" I asked as Mum, Lily, and Camellia walked through the door.
"Of course I will, but why'd you ask?" Sirius responded.
"Cause they hate me!" I cried as I pointed to the three women standing in the doorway.
"Oh you're just being dramatic!" Mum spoke, rolling her eyes at me.

I gasped dramatically as I looked from her to Sirius.

"I can't believe her Sirius! Can you believe she just called me dramatic?!" I questioned.
"Not at all," Sirius replied, his eyebrows raised.

I scowled at him, removing my arms and walking to the kitchen.

"Food anyone?" I asked as I walked away.
"I can't, I'm meeting Remus at the store," Camellia responded.
"James wants to go on a date tonight," Lily spoke.
"I'll stay," Mum smiled.

I nodded, continuing my walk to the kitchen.

The door closed and Mum and Sirius walked into the kitchen.

"Don't bother," Mum smirked as I pulled the bread out of the pantry.
"What?" I asked, turning around to face her.
"I'm not hungry. I just wanted to give you two a small, erm, early wedding gift?" Mum said warily.
"You didn't have to do that mum," I sighed, sitting down with Sirius at the counter.

Mum walked around the counter so that she was directly across from us, and pulled her purse out.

"Ah, here it is," Mum laughed, pulling out a small box and handing it to me.

I took the box from her, eyeing it curiously. I pulled the wrapping paper off, scowling as I saw the words Pregnancy Test.

I threw the box at her, Sirius looking at me curiously as he struggled to find out what it was.

"Mum I'm not pregnant!" I exclaimed.

Sirius snorted in realization, and mum frowned.

"Yes, but you will be one day. So I've gotten you some tests for whenever that day may come," Mum sighed.

I rolled my eyes at her, shaking my head as I did so.

"Whatever, Mum," I laughed, taking the box from her once more and throwing it into my purse.
"I'll be on my way then," Mum sighed, grabbing her purse and throwing it over her shoulder.
"Bye, Mum," I smiled, kissing her cheek.
"Bye Baby, bye Sirius," Mum spoke, opening the door to exit.

Sirius kissed her cheek before she left, and grinned at me after the door closed.

"What?" I laughed.
"Will you be needing those tests anytime soon?" Sirius questioned.

I scoffed, walking up the stairs and leaving Sirius behind.

I walked up the stairs, throwing my purse on the table and taking the tests to the bathroom.
With a roll of my eyes I chucked the tests in the cabinet, watching as it hit the back and slid down.

I shut the door closed, leaning against it and sliding to the ground.

I sighed as I pushed my legs out, wiggling my feet that currently were covered by socks.

I knew I wasn't pregnant, and I knew I didn't want to get pregnant anytime before marriage. Though luckily for me, that was right around the corner.

But truth be told, I wanted kids so bad. It was a dream of mine. As a kid, I told myself I would marry a prince and have twenty kids. I now had a prince, and maybe I will have twenty kids, or maybe I'll have none.

But now, I see that the world isn't all that. It isn't as simple as getting married and having kids. You had to get a job, you had to pay bills, you had to buy household items you didn't even no existed. I had to help Sirius pay bills the other day, and it was the craziest thing I had ever done!

But that's not what's troubling the world.

There is a war. A war that's killing people left and right. Muggles have no clue what's going on, but there are witches and wizards all over the world fighting for what they believe is right.

If I brought a child into this world, I'd be risking their safety.

That child would be in danger.
I would be in danger.
Sirius would be in danger.
Everyone I know could be put in danger simply by bringing a child into the world.

So no matter how much I would love to have kids, is it really worth it?

I hadn't realized I had been crying until a sob escaped my mouth.

I clasped my hand over my mouth in an attempt to muffle my sobs, but my whole body was shaking as tears fell from my eyes.

"Claire?" Sirius's voice spoke from the other side of the door, worry etched through his tone.

I ignored him, trying but failing to stop my sobs as I attempted to calm down.

"Please open the door, Baby," Sirius begged.

The word 'Baby' fell from his lips so easily.

It was a simple nickname to him but the effect it had on me only made me sob harder.

"Go away, Sirius," I sobbed.
"I won't. Not until you open the door," Sirius claimed.

I reluctantly pushed myself away from the door, just enough for Sirius to open the door.

"Go ahead," I cried, leaning against the wall slightly.

He pushed the door open, closing it again after he had entered.

He sat in front of me, taking my hands and pulling me onto his lap.

"What's wrong, Love?" Sirius asked, stroking my hair as I cried into his chest.
"I'm scared," I mumbled almost inaudibly.
"Scared of what?" Sirius questioned.
"Scared of the war. I want kids but it'd be cruel to bring a child into a world like this," I cried.

Sirius didn't reply for awhile, just stroking my hair and rubbing my back with his other hand.

After a few minutes I wondered if he was going to respond, but before I could ask, I was being lifted from the ground.

Sirius carried me out of the bathroom and lay me on the bed. He climbed in next to me, pulling the duvet over us. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into his chest.

"We're meeting the rest of the Order tomorrow. We can help stop this war. And one day, this will end," Sirius spoke.
"But that doesn't mean it'll end next week. It may take decades," I mumbled.
"Exactly. We shouldn't wait for this to end if we want kids. If that's what we want then we will fight for that," Sirius said, his tone now held bravery. Sirius was the truest Gryffindor I knew.
"Then lets have kids. After we get married we can start a family," I laughed softly.
"Let's do that," Sirius whispered, kissing my forehead.
"You missed, Babe," I mumbled, pointing to my lips.
Sirius chuckled, pressing his lips against mine.

"I love you, Claire."
"I love you too, Sirius."
"You better."
"I do!"
"You remember those two words, you'll be saying them pretty soon."
"Who says I'll be saying that? I could say 'I don't'!"
"Let's hope you don't."
"Of course I won't."

Hello! I know it was kind of a sad chapter, but the next chapter is going to be an interesting one!
I really don't have much to say, other than I hope you liked this chapter and I hope you like the chapter after the next chapter a lot because it's going to be adorable!
