Chapter 48

~Claire~
"I'm so glad we live in the middle of the woods," I mumble to Sirius.
We sat alone on the couch in our living room. My head in Sirius's lap as we spoke of anything and everything.
"I know. We don't have to deal with kids constantly ringing our doorbell and demanding candy," Sirius chuckled, playing with my hair.
"It'd get super annoying," I sighed, looking up into Sirius's eyes.
I stared at his grey eyes, which were staring back into my brown ones.
"Hey Siri?" I spoke.
"Yeah?" Sirius replied.
"You know how we were talking about having kids?" I recalled.
"Yeah, what about it?" Sirius asked.
"I want to start trying. Not tonight, but soon. We're getting married tomorrow, so we don't need to worry about that," I stated, watching his eyes to see any change of emotion.
He simply smiled and nodded.
"I agree."

"Put it there!"
"No there!"
"But it looks better there!"
"No! There the sun shines right on it!"
"You realize the wedding is in the middle of the night?! When there is no sun!"
"Oh yeah."
"Merlin's beard."
Sirius and I laughed as Camellia and James bickered over where to put the wedding arch.
"Guys I don't care where you put it!" I laughed.
"We just want to get married," Sirius chuckled.
"You know it's bad luck that you two are seeing each other," Lily states as she walks by.
"Don't really care," I shrug, leaning into Sirius's chest.
It was a little after five, and the wedding took place at eleven.
"Whatever Claire, you still need to take a shower and shave," Lily said.
"But I don't want to shave," I grumbled.
"Claire you need to shave," Camellia said.
"Maybe if I never shave again I'll be so hairy I'll look like a dog. Then Sirius and I will both be dogs," I explain innocently. Sirius and James start laughing as Camellia and Lily stare at me oddly.
"Please do not do that," Camellia sighs.
I sigh as well, reluctantly leaving Sirius's arms and walking into the house.
"I really hate shaving," I grumble as I walk up the stairs.
I make it to the bathroom, turning the water on and allowing it to heat up as I remove my clothes.
I sigh once more as I grab a new razor from one of the drawers.
I managed to shave my legs without cutting myself. Which I had no shame in announcing as I had yelled in joy afterwards.
"Yes! I am the best!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up.
"That you are," A voice said from the other side of the glass shower door.
"Merlin's beard Sirius! I didn't hear you come in!" I shriek, my hand over my chest.
"I am pretty quiet," Sirius grinned, sitting on the counter.
"Sure," I laugh, rolling my eyes.
I continued my shower, washing my hair and body as Sirius made slight conversation.
When we weren't talking I was pretending to be oblivious to Sirius watching my every move. His eyes scanning over my body.
Turning the water off, I wrapped myself in a towel.
I stepped out of the shower, but barely took two steps before I was pushed against the wall.
"Sirius!" I laughed as Sirius attempted to kiss me.
"What?" Sirius questioned innocently as he gave up on reaching my lips and proceeded to kiss my neck.
"My hair is dripping and we need to get ready!" I giggled, pushing him off of me and attempting to dry myself. I was interrupted once more as Sirius wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me.
"Claire!" Mum called as the bathroom door opened.
Mum's eyes widened slightly at the sight of Sirius and I. Myself only being in a towel.
I blushed and Sirius just grinned.
"Hello Chelsea!" Sirius grinned.
"Erm, sorry to interrupt, but you're both needed downstairs," Mum said.
"Um, okay, just let me get dressed," I spoke, grabbing some shorts and a t-shirt.
Mum left so that I could get dressed, and Sirius and I walked downstairs hand in hand.
Of course, we did not expect to see Orion and Walburga Black sitting in our living room.
Everyone was outside planning, so it was just Sirius and I with King and Queen Snake.
"Why are you two here?" Sirius sighed, he squeezed my hand slightly as I tensed up.
"We came for the wedding of course. Funny though, it seems our invitations didn't make it via owl," Walburga scowled.
"You didn't get an invitation because you weren't invited. So get out of our house," I hissed.
"Ah yes, what a beautiful house," Orion commented, picking up a picture of Sirius and I dancing in front of the house as the rain fell on us.
"Whoops," Orion sighed as the picture fell to the ground.
Pieces of glass scattered the floor, the frame in the middle of the glass.
A small gasp escaped my lips as I watched the glass scatter.
"Why would you do that?!" Sirius exclaimed.
Orion ignored him, taking the picture from the frame and holding it out in front of him.
"Such an odd picture. Why would you want to be in the rain?" Walburga spoke, taking her wand out.
"Incendio," Walburga hissed.
The picture caught fire before falling to the ground in ashes.
"Get out of our house," Sirius spoke through gritted teeth.
"No," Orion replied.
"Get out of our house or I'll make you," Sirius spat.
They didn't move, and with a flick of Sirius's wand the two were being pushed towards the door.
"You are a disgrace! Giving a filthy halfblood our pure name! She will ruin this family, you will ruin this family!" Walburga screeched.
"Good," Sirius scowled.

Mum, Euphemia, Molly, Lily, Camellia, and I all gathered in mine and Sirius's room to get ready.
The guys had gone to James's parents house to get ready.
Euphemia had joined us a little after Sirius's parents left.
She was beaming as she embraced Sirius in a hug. Rambling about how proud she was of him.
It took awhile to get her off of him so that he could leave, but she finally let go and we were able to start preparing.
Lily was doing makeup for everyone, Camellia and Molly doing hair, and Mum and Euphemia were getting the dresses ready, occasionally helping with hair and makeup,
"These dresses are beautiful, Claire," Euphemia smiled as she pulled out the last bridesmaid dress.
The dress was a simple blush colored lace dress that fell just over the knees.
"And look at this dress," Euphemia squealed as she spotted my dress.
It was also quite simple. A cream colored dress that fell above my knees and had lace sleeves.
"It's gorgeous isn't it?" Mum smiled.
I grinned at my mother and mother-in-law. Well. Almost.
"Oh Molly, your bump looks so big in that dress!" Camellia exclaimed.
"It looks beautiful on you, Molly," I smiled.
"I'm done with Claire's makeup if you want to do her hair, Cam," Lily spoke.
"Sure, what are we doing Claire?" Camellia asked.
"I just want my hair curled," I shruggged.
"You're killing me with your simplicity," Lily groaned.
I laugh as Camellia pulls out a curling iron.
"Are you excited?" Mum asks as she sits in front of me.
"Of course I am," I reply, smiling widely.
"Nervous?" Mum rephrases.
"Very. But in a good way," I say, allowing her to take my hands.
"I'm so sorry your father can't walk you down the isle," Mum sighs.
"It's okay Mum, Fleamont agreed to walk me. He's going to be my father-in-law anyway," I spoke, squeezing her frail hands.
"He was so excited that you had asked him," Euphemia laughed, making me laugh with her.
"I could tell, he responded like I did when Sirius asked me to marry him," I laughed, recalling the proposal.
"Tell us the story to pass time," Mum smiled.
"How he proposed?" I asked.
Everyone nodded eagerly.
"Do you girls even know why we like the rain so much?" I questioned, realizing I never really elaborated on that. Only telling Camellia and Lily the gist of it.
"Now that you mention it, no," Euphemia replied.
"Well, when we first started dating, we didn't last that long. Only a month later, on Halloween, I had found Sirius with another girl. I had run away immediately, but I hadn't realized Sirius had followed me.
So I had run out into the rain, and collapsed under a tree, sobbing of course. But when I looked up, a dog was sitting in front of me," I was interrupted as everyone but Mum cooed.
"A dog?" Mum questioned.
"Right. I hadn't known at the time, but Sirius is an animagus. It means he can turn into an animal at will. James and Peter can as well," I explained.
"Why not Remus?" Mum asked.
"Because they did it to help him on full moons, so there was no point for him to become one," I spoke.
"Ah, okay. Continue," Mum smiled.
Taking a deep breath, I continued the story.
"So I pushed the dog away, wanting to be alone, and he just sat there.
The dog was familiar to me, as I had seen him before then. I had actually claimed him as mine, naming him Snuffles. Much to the dogs dismay.
So Snuffles sat there with me for hours, before finally I had gotten the message. He wanted me to get up. So I did. And we danced. I know, it's stupid, but he gave me his paws, and we danced.
I knew it was crazy, but at the same time it wasn't crazy.
So every time it rained, I would go out and meet Snuffles, and we would dance. Until I found out it was Sirius, and after that we would dance. Every single time it rained we were out there together," I smiled.
"That's adorable," Euphemia exclaimed, the girls nodding in agreement.
"So what about the proposal?" Mum asked.
"Well, I had thought it was going to be a regular night where Sirius and I danced. But Lils and Cam dressed me up and Sirius was dressed up. It was suspicious but I hadn't thought twice about it.
So the night went normally. We danced, we kissed, and we talked.
We sat under the same tree as usual, and spoke of our future and what we wanted to do.
And as if it was out of a movie, I had looked up at the stars, and Sirius spoke from beside me, 'Marry me.'
I though I had heard him wrong, so I turned to him and asked what he had said, and he said again, 'Claire, marry me.'
I of course said yes, and he gave me this gorgeous ring," I laughed, looking fondly at my ring.
The girls were all squealing as I finished my story.
"That's so cute!" Lily exclaimed.
"Ugh, I can't get over how adorable that was!" Camellia sighed.
"Sirius is perfect for you," Mum smiled.
"He is my son," Euphemia laughed, everyone laughing with her.
"It was perfect. I could relive that moment my whole life," I sighed.
"Oh yes I know. I did it after all," A voice spoke from behind the door.
"Sure Sirius," I laughed.
"Sirius you're not supposed to see her!" Lily exclaimed.
"Unless I can see through doors, I won't be seeing her, Lilyflower," Sirius laughed.
"James would kill you if he caught you calling me that," Lily stated, Euphemia snorting from next to her.
"I know, he's glaring daggers at me right now," Sirius replied.
"Is Fleamont with you?" I asked.
"Right here," The voice of Fleamont spoke.
"Come in then," I laughed.
The door opened and Fleamont slid in, trying to keep Sirius from peeking.
"Thank you again Fleamont, for walking me," I smiled.
"I haven't done it yet, no need to thank me," Fleamont laughed.
"Speaking of which, I am done, and this wedding is starting in fifteen minutes," Camellia spoke.
My eyes widened, and I heard frantic movement from behind the door.
"Sirius, mate, you need to go," James hissed from behind the door.
"So do you!" Sirius responded.
"Bloody hell! Go then!" Lily exclaimed.
Footsteps echoed through the hall as they bounded down the stairs.
"Let's go then," Euphemia smiled.

I couldn't help the wide smile on my face as I prepared to walk down the isle with Fleamont.
"You look beautiful, Claire," Fleamont smiled.
"Thank you.....Dad," I mumbled.
He smiled down at me, linking our arms as we walked out into the backyard, making our way down the isle.
Rain was pouring down from the clouds, thunder sounding in the distance.
Gideon, Fabian, Euphemia, Alice, Frank, Marlene, Dorcas, Emmeline, Arthur – who held baby Percy – Charlie, and Bill stood from where they sat.
My eyes met Sirius's grey ones, making my smile widen even more.
My grip around my bouquet of pale pink roses tightened as we took small steps towards the front.
My curled hair was now soaking wet, and Sirius's hair was sticking to the sides of his face.
Lily, Camellia, and Molly stood in blush dresses. James, Remus, and Peter stood in navy blue suits, pale pink ties around their necks.
Sirius's suit was a slightly darker blue, though his tie matched the rest.
The arch had flowers at the corners, pink fabric wrapped around it's sides.
Soon enough, I was standing under the arch with Sirius, my hands in his.
The priest nodded towards Sirius, and he began his vows.
"Claire Bennet, when I first saw you on the platform before our first year, my first thought was, 'I am going to marry that girl one day.'
Through our first five years there, I watched you roll your eyes at me, scoff in my face, even glare at me when you thought I couldn't see you, every time I tried to ask you out.
When you finally let me take you on a date, I promised myself I would never break your heart. That I would treat your heart as if it were my own.
Not even a month later I had already hurt you, and although I had not meant too hurt you, I hurt your heart and my own.
That was two years ago today, and I hope that now we can think of this day as the day we exchanged rings, and shared a kiss that changed our lives.
You gave me another chance to prove I could treat you right, and in these past two years I have done everything I can to prove just that.
You have seen me at my lowest, and at my highest. You have been there for me when I've needed you most.
I love you, Claire Bennet.
I love you more than anything in this world.
I will love you for the rest of my life, and I will love you everyday after that.
I will be by your side, for the rest of our lives, whenever your sick, whenever your sad, whenever your angry.
I will be there to give you tissues, to make you soup, to let you express your anger, to be a shoulder to cry on. I will be there.
I will be there and I will love you." Sirius finishes with tears in his eyes.
My tears had escaped my eyes long ago, now rolling down my cheeks.
"Sirius Black, when I first saw you, my first though was, 'He's kind of cute.' After that, my only thoughts of you were, 'He's a git and I will never like him.'
And now I'm standing here with you, getting married, and all I can think right now is how wrong I was.
'This man is not a git, but rather the farthest thing from a git.'
In our fifth year, you covered my bed in roses. At first I thought it was the stupidest thing in the world, and I had Camellia get rid of them immediately.
But yesterday, she came to me with these roses and told me that they were the exact ones from that day.
She had never gotten rid of those flowers, and instead enchanted them to stay alive as long as our relationship did.
If you look at these roses closely, you can see that this one rose is missing a few petals. This one in between them all is dead. And that one has no petals.
Some would see this as a sign that our relationship is dying.
But that spell was casted three years ago.
We have gone through so much in those three years, and the fact that only three flowers have been effected proves that our relationship is not dying.
We fight, all couples do, but we make up.
These flowers show how strong our relationship is.
You have treated me right Sirius.
You have held my heart in your hands, and you have been there to treat my heart whenever we fight.
There is a war raging on at this very minute.
People are dying everyday.
I will be by your side throughout this war.
I will by your side when we win this war.
And I will by your side everyday after that.
But most importantly, I will love you throughout all of that." We both now had tears rolling down our cheeks.
The priest said somethings, I wasn't really paying attention to exactly what he was saying though.
My thought were on the man in front of me.
I was brought back to earth though by his next words.
"Do you, Sirius Orion Black III, take Clairesse Felicity Bennet to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"Do you, Clairesse Felicity Bennet, take Sirius Orion Black III to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
After that, the rings were handed to us.
Sirius took my left hand and slid a thin rose gold band that had small diamonds around the whole band, onto my ring finger next to my engagement ring.
I took Sirius's left hand and put the wider rose gold band onto his ring finger.
"It is with great honor I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Black. You may now kiss the bride."
Sirius, with my left hand still in his, pulled me into him, joining our lips as we celebrated our marriage.
I could hear faint cheering, but all I could focus on was Sirius.
His soft lips on mine, our eyes closed as we held each other.
We reluctantly pulled away, not leaving each others embrace as we stared into each others eyes.
"I love you Mr. Black," I mumbled.
"I love you too Mrs. Black," Sirius responded.
"That's my daughter!" Mum exclaimed.
"That's my son!" Euphemia yelled.
"Well that's my son-in-law!" Mum retorted.
"And that's my daughter-in-law!" Euphemia quipped.
"I don't even care I love you all!" Fleamont exclaimed, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"James when are you getting married?!" Euphemia questioned.
"I don't know, Mum," James laughed, his hand in Lily's.
"What about you Remus? You'll be my brother-in-law," Molly grinned.
Remus blushed whilst Camellia laughed.
"Peter do you have a lucky lady in your life?" Arthur questioned, handing Percy to Molly.
"Nope," Peter spoke, popping the 'p'.
"You'll find someone, Pete," Emmeline smiled.
Frank and Alice walked over to Sirius and I with grins on their faces.
"Well hello Mr. and Mrs. Black," Alice grinned.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom," Sirius laughed.
"I don't think I'm ever going to get used to being called Mrs. Black," I spoke.
"I don't think I'm ever going to get used to you being Mrs. Black and not just my Mum," Sirius shuddered.
"Oh ha ha. No one better start comparing me to that snake," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Never," Sirius grinned, squeezing my hand slightly.
"Claire!" Marlene exclaimed, Dorcas and Emmeline hot on her trail.
"Girls! I'm so glad you could make it, especially on such short notice!" I smiled.
"We wouldn't miss it!" Dorcas laughed.
"You guys are so cute together" Emmeline squealed.
"Why hello Clairesse!" Fabian exclaimed from behind the girls.
"Fancy seeing you here!" Gideon spoke.
"But really, how odd that we're seeing you at Clairesse's and Sirius's wedding!" Gideon added.
"Coincidence? I think not!" Fabian laughed.
"Congratulations Claire and Sirius!" They said in unison.
Sirius and I grinned at them.
"Hello Fabian, Gideon," I smiled.
"Claire! Sirius! There's an owl for you!" Lily yelled.
Sirius and I walked over to where Lily was, and she indeed had an owl.
She handed us a folded piece of paper that had the names Sirius and Claire.
I unfolded it, Sirius peering over my shoulder to get a glance.
Sirius and Claire,
Congratulations on the marriage.
