Chapter 40

•This story takes scenes from the Harry Potter series. I want to make it clear that I don't own those scenes. That's owned by
J.K. Rowling. Thank you•

~Scarlett~

I yawned tiredly, running a hand through my hair. I struggled to keep my eyes open until Harry elbowed me in the side.

"Right, right, I'm awake," I mumbled to myself. Harry glanced over at me, signaling that he heard me, before going back to whatever it was he, Hermione, and Ron were talking about.

"Either Mr. Crouch attacked Viktor, or somebody else attacked both of them when Viktor wasn't looking," Hermione said, rubbing her forehead.

"I don't trust anyone who thinks of themselves as superior," I scoffed. "If someone told me Crouch killed Krum then I can't honestly say I'd be surprised."

"Well that's absurd!" Hermione exclaimed. "How could you assume as much of Mr. Crouch?"

"I said if." I rolled my eyes, yawning again. "Besides it's just my opinion."

"Right," Hermione nodded, giving me a sharp look before turning away. "As I was saying, it's gotta be one of the two."

Ron and Hermione started arguing over some theory Ron had, but I didn't pay much attention as Harry leaned over to whisper in my ear.

"Don't mind her," he laughed lightly under his breath. "She's gone mad with all this SPEW stuff and won't let anyone voice their opinions if it goes against her own."

"I don't care," I shrugged. "I just want to go back to bed."

Harry had decided to drag me out of my bed this morning so that we could hideout in the Owlery and talk about something the Minister and Viktor Krum did.

Or didn't do...

I don't remember.

"Just go through it again, Harry," Hermione ordered for the millionth time. "What did Mr. Crouch exactly say?"

"I've told you, he wasn't making much sense," Harry groaned, rubbing his temples. "He said he wanted to warn Dumbledore about something. He definitely mentioned Bertha Jorkins, and he seemed to think she was dead. He kept saying stuff was his fault....He mentioned his son."

"Well that was his fault," Hermione said testily.

"He was out of his mind—"

Harry continued on but I couldn't tell you with what as I started to drift off again, my head falling on Harry's shoulder.

Again I felt his elbow nudge me, this time in my stomach.

"Agh! I'm up!"

"Clearly," Harry rolled his eyes.

"Why am I here anyway?" I questioned, looking around at all of the owls fluttering around. "It's not like I'm apart of this."

"You're here because I'm your brother and I need support," Harry stated, smiling sheepishly at me.

"Yeah," I glanced at him. "You look fine."

I started to stand up to leave but Hermione stopped me, shushing us all. We all paused to listen, hearing footsteps coming up the stairs. I could hear two familiar voices arguing as they got closer.

"-that's blackmail, that is, we could get into a lot of trouble for that-"

"-we've tried being polite; it's time to play dirty, like him. He wouldn't like the Ministry of Magic knowing what he did-"

"I'm telling you, if you put that in writing, it's blackmail!"

"Yeah, and you won't be complaining if we get a nice fat payoff, will you?"

The Owlery door banged open. Fred and George appeared, frozen at the sight of us.

"What're you doing here?" Ron and Fred said at the same time.

"Sending a letter," said Harry and George in unison.

"What, at this time?" said Hermione and Fred.

Fred grinned, making my heart do cartwheels. "Fine–we won't ask you what you're doing, if you don't ask us."

He was holding a sealed envelope in his hands. But whether it was done accidentally or on purpose, he shifted his hand so that the name on it was covered.

I got up completely, walking over to the twins and glaring at them suspiciously. "Fred Weasley, what do you have in your hands?"

"Just a letter, Love," Fred smiled, but I could see right through him.

Grabbing both of their hands, I dragged them out of the Owlery and to a narrow alleyway right outside of it.

"Who're you blackmailing?" I demanded.

"Oh, we were only joking about that," Fred lied, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"Don't you dare lie to me, Fred Weasley," I scoffed, folding my arms and looking at them expectantly.

Fred opened and closed his mouth at a loss for words, glancing over at George for help.

"Alright, we made a bet with Ludo Bagman at the Quidditch World Cup months ago," George finally spilled.

"How much?" I asked, getting worried now.

"We put all our savings–"

"–and a fake wand-"

"-on Ireland winning but Viktor Krum catching the Snitch."

"That's what happened though, isn't it?" I questioned, confused by the situation.

"Precisely!" George exclaimed. "That prat gave us leprechaun gold! The stuff disappeared a few hours later!"

"So you're blackmailing him?" I concluded. "You think that's gonna do anything?"

"It's our best bet–"

"–even though the Quidditch World Cup bet was pretty good–"

"–this is our last bet!"

"Why do I put up with you guys?" I muttered to myself, facepalming.

"Cause you love us," Fred shrugged, sending me a wink.

My cheeks darkened at his words, knowing they were true.

"What are you doing up so early anyway?" George asked me, checking his watch. "It's seven in the morning."

"Harry dragged me out of bed," I groaned. "I'm so tired."

"Here," Fred walked over to me with open arms. "I'll carry you back to the castle."

"Merlin I've made you all sappy," I laughed, but accepted his offer nonetheless.

He carried me like a child, his arms around me and my legs around his waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my head into his shoulder, immediately drifting off.

I felt his warm breath on my neck as he chuckled, beginning to walk. I could vaguely hear him and George conversing, but I didn't pay much attention.

~Fred~

"She's out," I chuckled, adjusting my grip around her.

"You guys are cute," George smiled, lightly elbowing me in the side.

"I could say the same about you and Angelina," I quipped, but I couldn't deny the slight heat that rose in my face.

We had a while of us just blushing in silence, and it wasn't until we had reached the Common Room that George said something.

"Are you putting her in our room?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "Unless one of the girls can help get her to her own room."

None of the girls ended up being in the Common Room, which left me giving up my bed. Not that I minded, it was actually quite a sight to see my girlfriend in my bed.

"This again?" Lee complained, hating having to keep quiet.

I ignored him, laying down next to Scarlett and wrapping an arm around her. She stirred a little before getting comfortable with her arms around me and her face buried in my chest.

I felt my heart swell has she nuzzled into me, a small smile planted on her face.

What did I do to deserve this girl?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kind of forgot about this....whoops.
So it turns out my bus driver is a Harry Potter fan so my whole 30 minute bus ride was spent with us going back and forth asking questions. She eventually just told me to name as many characters as I could, but told me to stop before I could get through the marauder's era.😂
Anyway, I hope you all had a good Valentine's Day, I personally spent it alone soooooo.... But know that I love you all so very much! ¡Adios!
