Chapter nine
"I needed to get my mind off things." George said.
"I could say the same. But its not really helping." I told him, he sat beside me on the couch and signed.
"Yeah I know what you mean." He said running his hands through his bright hair. I stared into the fire watching as the red and orange flames licked the wood creating a beautiful fire.
"Its weird being back here without him." George said quietly, I nodded without looking at him.
"Yeah, it really is." I whispered feeling a small tear fall from my watering eyes. I felt a hand on my back rubbing up and down, I slowly lent into Georges side and let my tears flow freely.
"I don't know if I can do this anymore Georgie." I cried into his side.
"Shh, Amelia, you've got this. I know you can keep going, its what Fred would have wanted you know?" He said, I sniffled wiping my nose on the sleeve of my jacket.
"Its just. What am I gonna tell Blue?" I asked. "What do I tell her when she asks why she's different than all the other kids who have dads?"
"You tell her that her dad was an amazing prankster and loved her until the very last second." George said rubbing my arm up and down. I took a deep breath trying to calm my shaky breaths.
I thought about what he said. Blue needed me. My boy or girl on the way needed me. I was their rock, and I needed them as well. I don't know what I'd do without the family that I have now. Blue may not have had long with her father but she will have entity with me. I won't leave her or her younger sibling. I'll stay and fight for them, love, laugh, cry, care, I will do anything for them.
"You're right." I said. "Your right. I have to be a good mum. I have to stay here and fight for my babies. I'm gonna be the best mum ever." I said wiping away my tears. I wrapped my arms around Georges neck and kissed his cheek. "Thanks a lot George, I don't know what I'd do without you." I told him, he gave me a small grin and nodded.
"Its what I'm here for." He said I gave him a small smile patting his shoulder before walking out of the common room.
I walked all the way back to Dumbledores office and was face to face with McGonagall shortly after. "Thank you Professor." I said wrapping my arms around her in a hug. She stood shocked for a minute before she slowly hugged me back.
"Its always good to see you dear." She said to me, I pulled away from her and smiled.
"You as well Professor." I said, she gave me a small smile. "If you don't mind, I'm just gonna visit one last place before I leave."
"Not at all, go on dear." She said her small smile turning into a soft one. I nodded and walked out of the office and towards the library.
The halls were silent, the only thing that could be heard was my feet against the cobblestone. I sighed and let the memories of kids all ages chatting away and hustling to their next classes. I remember standing on the ledges of the wall with Fred George and Lee watching as everyone was confused about where there new classes were.
"Oi get up here love." Fred said as I stood in front of the wall looking up at my three best friends.
Fred held out his hand and I put mine in his. He helped me up and we watched as everyone passed by.
"Um Connor dear that's the girls vaitory!" McGonagall called to a random boy. I felt a laugh escape my lips.
"See, I knew you'd have fun babe." Fred whispered in my ear.
"Of course you did." I giggled.
I got to the library and stood outside the large doors. Slowly pushing them open a loud squeak ran through the whole area.
I walked inside and walked between the isles of books, the place where I came whenever I wanted to get away from things, or just wanted to read. I walked by the place Fred and I claimed as 'our spot' and lingered staring at the two chairs in the corner.
"Fred we came here so we wouldn't be tempted." I said as he kissed down my neck.
"Well it didn't work." He mumbled against my skin. I giggled running my fingers through his soft firey red hair.
He moved his lips back up to mine, we moved together in sync our lips battling.
I pulled away from his lips and rested my forehead against his. "I love you Am." He whispered our noses brushing.
"I love you too Freddie." I mumbled letting my eyes flutter close taking in the moment.
I shook my head and looked down to my watch that read 7:55, Mrs. Weasley was gonna go mad if I didn't get home. Without even leaving the library I squeezed my eyes shut and apparited out of Hogwarts and back to the burrow.
I ran towards the house, the cool air nipping at my face making me shiver. When I got to the door, I swung the door open and was greeted by a wave of heat. I sighed in relief and smiled when Ginny greeted me with a hug.
"Oh it was lovely having Blue with us today thank you so much for letting us take her." Ginny gushed.
"Thanks for having her." I said with a smile.
"Oh anytime." Ginny said happily, I laughed and shook my head as she skipped away.
I walked into the living room to see George sitting on the couch with Blue on his lap.
"You're daddy was a great man. He loved you and your mommy so much. Actually you two were all he talked about most days, how you were gonna grow up and have a huge family and how everyone was gonna love you. How he was gonna have to beat up any boys that hurt you. But now I will. If you ever have a problem you come to Uncle Georgie and he can make it all better okay?" I lent against the doorframe a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "Your daddy may not be here, but he's watching over you and mommy every second of every day. I promise."
I pushed myself off the wall and walked towards the couch. I sat beside George and rubbed Blues head.
"How much of that did you hear?" He asked looking at me, his brown eyes similar to Fred's.
"Enough to be thankful." I told him truthfully.
"Good, so I don't have to repeat anything." He said playfully bumping shoulders.
"Says the one with a missing ear." I laughed.
