Today is the first day at the new Vampire Assassin Academy, after Zhan and Yibo returned from their five-year journey around the world a month ago. The Vampire Assassin Academy, which is the first and only of its kind, opened its doors to the first students today.

The 30 previously very thoroughly tested selected students in the age of 6 - 10 years, sit excitedly in the small auditorium of the academy and are already very excited about their teacher and their coach. Towards the two founders of this academy Wang Yibo and his husband Wang Xiao Zhan.

But before the two stand on the podium and introduce themselves to the children, they first lead the parents of the children through the small school building, to the 4 modern classrooms, to the four modern training rooms in the basement which are operated with an AI, to the large training ground, the schoolyard and finally to the dormitory of the students.

Patiently, they answer all the questions of the parents and explain to them how their children will be taught and trained here normally from now on. "The students will be taught by 3 very reputable and professional teachers in all the normal classes that exist in any school. My husband Zhan will teach them the history and mythology of vampires and teach them the vampire language and I, along with two very experienced instructors, will conduct the assassin training." Explained Yibo.

"Exactly. The children receive a very complex training here. A lot will be demanded of them. But, you don't have to worry. Their health will be taken care of all the time. And also that they have a lot of fun, games and joy in their free time. This is taken care of by our dormitory supervisors, who are there for your children around the clock. And they go away with the children every weekend to do leisure activities. And as you already know, the children can only come to your home during the vacations." Explained Zhan.

Yibo added, "When I was sent to the Assassin Academy, I wasn't allowed to have any contact with my family for all these years during my training. But we don't want to keep it that way. Therefore, you can call your children three times a week and also bring them to your home during the vacations."

The parents of the children, all very proud that their children had been chosen, applauded. Then they all went together to the small auditorium where the children could already meet the three teachers and the two other instructors.

Zhan and Yibo entered the stage dressed as assassins and the children were amazed. They were wide-eyed and totally excited. They fidgeted in their chairs and a few immediately shouted that they wanted such a great "costume" too.

Zhan laughed and said, "Welcome children. I am very happy to finally meet you in person today. I am Wang Xiao Zhan and we will have a lot to do together in the coming years. I will give you all the knowledge you need and my husband here, my wonderful assassin, will train you to be a real assassin. You are very special children and that is why you are getting this special training."

Yibo nodded and said, "Right. We will make you very special vampires. The training is long and hard. But through this training you will be faster than others, stronger and smarter. You will become vampire assassins. You who are so special that we have chosen you will receive this special training. And at the end of your training, not only will everyone who passes, receive clothing like we wear, but you will also be directly subordinate to the council."

"Yes, you heard right. After your training, you will work for the Council. They will form a special unit that is only for vampire assassins." Explained Zhan.

"Is that really true? Our children will work for the Council?" Asked a mother excitedly.

"Yes, it's true." Yibo replied.

The parents, of course knowing what an honor this is, cheered loudly and applauded vigorously. "This is great!" Shouted some of them.

"To show you what we will teach your children, we have prepared something." Said Zhan. Then the lights in the small auditorium suddenly went out and everyone stood there in complete darkness. A few were looking for the light switch. A few tried to open the door, but it was locked. And when the light came back on after a few minutes, the chairs on which the children were sitting were empty!

Immediately, the parents ran around looking for their children. But they could not find them. The auditorium is small and both exits were sealed off. And then the parents heard their children laughing outside. They ran to the windows and saw their children in the schoolyard, waving happily to them. "I told you we'd show you." Said Zhan, appearing out of nowhere.

The astonished parents sat down on the now vacant chairs and Zhan said, "We wanted to show you with this little showmanship that we're not just talking. Your children will get a tough training that will make them real assassins. This is not just talk! It will be."

There was silence in the small auditorium for a moment before the parents really grasped what Zhan was explaining to them. And then they stood up and applauded again.

Zhan and Yibo wanted the parents to really understand that their children will be raised to be assassins. They will kill on command! And in just one year, they will no longer be cute little kids. They will be children who are able to kill someone after just one year. And in the following years, they will learn how to kill someone without being caught. How they can come and go secretly. They will just learn everything that is necessary to be a true assassin.

When Zhan and Yibo returned from their long journey, they first went to Romania to the elders who gave them a final test. A test to see if they were really capable of completing the task set before them. And they passed.

After this final test, Zhan and Yibo were elevated in status and rank. They are now directly subordinate to the vampire order, the elders. Now they can address the Elders directly and no longer need permission from the Council of Vampires.

During their absence, the Elders have already commissioned the construction of the Vampire Assassin Academy. Much to Zhan's and Yibo's delight, the academy is located near the castle. So they can finally be back at home with their family and are not far from their work.

When the two finally returned home after a total of seven years, Zhan's parents could hardly believe that the two were back. Zhan and Yibo had not informed them about their return before, so it was a surprise. And it really was a surprise. However, on both sides.

The two entered the castle and when Zhan's parents saw them, they ran to them and took them in their arms. In bone-crushing fashion, Zhan's mother hugged them both and said tearfully, "Finally, my two sons are back home."

Zhan's father had a similar reaction. He held them both tightly in his arms for minutes and finally said, "I hope you won't leave again. Once again, I can't bear not to see my two sons for so long."

But before Zhan and Yibo even got to say anything, their attention was drawn to a little girl playing shyly with her hands. She had long black hair and wore a red hair bow. She had on a sky blue knee length dress, white tights and wore a pink colored long cardigan. In her arm she held a white teddy bear.

Zhan tilted his head to the side and asked, "Who is that?"

And Zhan's mom went to her, put her hands on the little one's shoulder and said, "This is Chu, your little seven-year-old sister. We adopted her a year ago."

Little Chu slowly walked up to Zhan and Yibo and held out her hand to them. Zhan squatted in front of her, spread his arms and said, "I'm your big brother. How about a hug?" Little Chu nodded and hugged first Zhan and then Yibo.

After only half an hour, Chu was no longer shy at all and raced with Zhan inside the castle. The two of them laughed and every now and then Zhan lifted his little sister and twirled her around. "He hasn't changed at all. He's still the playful, loving, naughty boy we love so much." Said Zhan's mother with a smile.

"Zhan will never change. I'll make sure of that." Replied Yibo before joining in Zhan and Chu's game.

Later, Zhan's parents told them that little Chu had been attacked by a vampire at a street fair a year ago. Another vampire who happened to find her brought her to them at the castle. And one call to the council later, the two gave the little one some of their blood to drink, thus welcoming her into their family.

"We hope you will help us raise little Chu." Said Zhan's father after the two explained how Chu came to them.

"Absolutely." Said Zhan and Yibo in unison.

But there was more news for the two. Such as that Yibo's brother was now working for the Council as well. And Cheng had done a 4 year training in the investigator unit of the council to be able to work with Hai Kuan afterwards. Meanwhile, the two are quite well known in the world of vampires. The two also have their own house by now, which is near Cheng's family.

Zhan learned that his cousin Yanli also adopted a second child. And now lives with her husband and children among the people. At least for a few years.

Yibo, on the other hand, learned that his father died two years ago. He lived even longer than had been expected. But, life could no longer be called that, as he was later told by his brother, who often visited their father in the nursing home. Yibo's mother, on the other hand, is doing well. She moved out of Sigma after a year and now lives in a housing complex for single people who support each other and do a lot together.

A few days after their return, Zhan and Yibo were sitting in the hot spring, cuddling and talking. Yibo said, "You know, I think it's really amazing how fast the years have gone by. We've been paired up for almost 8 years now and it doesn't feel like that long at all. When I think about what 8 years means as a human, I'm glad I chose this path and have eternity with you."

"I feel the same way. To me, the time with you doesn't seem so long either. Almost 8 years, that's nothing for us. And yes, if you were human or both of us, that would be a lot of time." Replied Zhan.

"Say, have you ever thought about having a child or two someday?"

"Mhhh, a few times yes. But that would be too early now. And soon we'll be surrounded by 30 kids every day for many years. And after that, there will be new children. I don't know if and if so when we'll have time for our own kids then."

"Yes, that went through my mind too. I had to think about it when we met your little sister. I wondered at that moment if we would also adopt a child someday. But then I thought, we'll have these 30 kids around soon, do we really need kids of our own?"

"Exactly. We're going to have those 30 kids. And we're going to help my parents with little Chu. Who knows, maybe in 200 or 300 years we can think about having our own kids again. Unless the same thing happens to us as happened to my parents and we just run into a child that we want to adopt right away."

"Uh-huh 200 or 300 years yeah? I'll just say let's be surprised. Let's do it like your parents and not plan anything. We'll just let it come to us."

"Yeah, that's how we do it."

"Hey ZhanZhan?"

"Mhm?"

"I love you. And I'm still as happy with you as I was in the beginning. And I know that will never change."

"Awww BoBo. I love you too. And you make me the happiest vampire in the world. That will definitely never change." Replied Zhan and kissed Yibo.

And as of today, the two had become the teacher and instructor of 30 very special children. And they were at least as excited and nervous as these children. And as they all celebrate the opening ceremony together today and have fun, tomorrow they will start preparing the children for their future as vampire assassins.
