Chapter 15

Anastacia POV

Once we finally arrived at our classroom, Noah and Lily exchanged a glance, a silent challenge passing between them.

"I've got this," Noah said, stepping forward.

"No way," Lily replied, moving to block him. "I'm kicking the door open."

Noah raised an eyebrow. "Seriously, Lil? I'm the younger one. I get to do it."

Lily crossed her arms, standing her ground. "Age doesn't matter. You kicked the door open last time."

"That was different!" he protested. "Besides, you're not as strong as me."

I really am dealing with a bunch of 2-year-olds. Where is Ollie when I need him?

Lily scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Oh, please. I can kick just as hard as you, if not harder."

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Guys, it's just a fucking door. Can you stop acting like fucking toddlers and grow the fuck up!?" I partially growled, wondering why I had to put up with them and school.

But neither Noah nor Lily was paying attention, and they most definitely were not going to back down. "I bet I can kick it harder," Noah challenged, a smirk playing on his lips.

Lily stepped closer, squaring up to him. "You wanna bet? You're on. But when I win, you have to admit I'm stronger."

"Deal," he shot back. "But when I win, you have to carry my books for a week."

Sick of both their shit, I pushed past them and kicked the door open myself.

The classroom fell silent as everyone turned to look at the source of the noise. I could feel Noah and Lily's glares on my back, but I just ignored them, keeping my head held high with a glare on my face.

"Who are you and what are you doing disrupting my class!" Ms. Thompson yelled as we entered. Clearly, she hasn't gotten laid in a while.

"Get out of my classroom now!"

"Umm, excuse you, I think not. We're your new students. If you actually paid attention to what's going on, you might have known that," I replied, smirking slightly.

Lily, Noah, and I made our way to the back of the classroom where, thankfully, there was a free table.

"What are your names?" the teacher asked as we walked to the seats.

"I'm Lily Clark. That's my brother Noah, and that's Anastacia De Angelo," Lily replied, trying to be the mediator as usual.

Everyone in the classroom gasped when they heard my last name, then started shouting at us as we sat in the seats.

"You can't sit there!" some random dude yelled.

"And why the fuck not?" I shouted back.

"Because if you sit there, they're gonna kill you. That's their seat!" another person replied.

I rolled my eyes, not bothered by the warning. "Well, they're not here right now, are they? And if they've got a problem with it, they can take it up with me."

The teacher, clearly flustered by the disruption, tried to regain control of the class. "Alright, enough of this. Everyone settle down. Let's get back to the lesson."

As Ms. Thompson resumed teaching, I couldn't help but notice the occasional glances thrown our way. The tension in the room was palpable, but I was determined not to let it bother me. If these so-called seat owners wanted to start something, I was more than ready to finish it.

Lily leaned over, whispering, "Just keep your cool, Stace. We don't need any trouble on the first day."

I nodded, though my fists clenched under the table. I could feel the familiar itch of my IED simmering beneath the surface, but I forced myself to focus on the lesson. One thing was clear: this school was going to be just as dramatic as our last one, if not more.

The rest of the class went by uneventfully with me just zoning out the entire time.

By the time it was lunch, I was exhausted.

I followed Lily and Noah to the cafeteria, my social battery dead, although it almost always was.

I figured I should just meet all my brothers' friends now and get it over with so tomorrow I could go up to the roof that I found today and smoke some weed. God knows I need it.

I might actually just go there after lunch instead of going to class.

Yeah, that sounds like a great plan.

I made sure that the triplets and I have all the same classes. We have:

8:30-9:45 English
9:45-11:00 Maths
11:00-12:15 History
12:15-1:15 Lunch
1:15-2:30 Science
2:30-3:45 Geography

As we walked into the cafeteria, I was expecting it to be kind of cliché, but it wasn't really. It was the same as back in London, kind of.

I spotted my brothers sitting to the side of the room at a big table with maybe five other guys, making it seven of them sitting down.

Lily and Noah spotted them as well and started walking over. I followed them, keeping my head high and my glare fixed, daring anyone to make a comment. As we approached the table, the chatter among my brothers and their friends quieted down, all eyes turning to us.

"Hey, guys," Noah greeted, taking a seat.

"Hey," Enzo muttered, barely glancing up. Leonardo, on the other hand, gave us a welcoming smile.

"Everyone, this is our sister, Anastacia," Leonardo announced, gesturing to me.

The boys around the table eyed Lily and Noah with a mix of curiosity and scepticism.

"So, you're the infamous Anastacia," one of them said, a tall guy with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. "I'm Damon."

"Nice to meet you," I replied, keeping my tone neutral.

"Yeah, we've heard a lot about you," another guy chimed in. He had a friendly face and a casual demeanour. "I'm Harry."

The others introduced themselves: Levi and Luke, the twins, both with sharp features and intense gazes and finally, the last one, Flynn, quiet and observant;

"And you two?" Levi asked, looking at Lily and Noah.

"I'm Lily Clark, and this is my brother, Noah," Lily said, offering a small smile. "We've been friends with Anastacia for a long time."

"Glad to meet you," Levi said, though his tone was a bit guarded. "We've been friends with her brothers for years."

"Yeah, I gathered that," Lily replied, maintaining her composure.

Noah, seemingly more relaxed, leaned back in his chair. "So, what's the deal with this school? Anything we should know?"

"Just the usual high school drama," Damon said with a shrug. "Nothing overly exiting, except maybe the few fights that happen atleast once a day."

Lily and Noah took their seats, and I followed suit, sitting between them. I could feel the tension between Enzo and me, but I chose to ignore it.

"So, how's your first day going?" Harry asked, trying to break the ice.

"It's fine," I said, not really wanting to delve into the details of the morning's chaos.

"Just fine?" Damon asked, raising an eyebrow. "Usually, the first day is a bit more eventful."

I shrugged.

The conversation drifted to other topics—school, sports, plans for the weekend. I mostly tuned out, my mind wandering to my earlier plan to escape to the roof after lunch. The noise of the cafeteria was grating, and I could feel my patience wearing thin.

After what felt like an eternity, the lunch period was finally nearly over. I stood up, grabbing my backpack. "I'm gonna head to class early," I lied, needing to get away.

Lily shot me a concerned look but didn't say anything. She knew better than to question me when I was in one of these moods.

"See you guys later," I mumbled, walking away from the table. I made my way through the crowded hallways, heading towards the stairwell that led to the roof. Once I was up there, I found a secluded spot, pulled out my stash, and lit up.

As the smoke filled my lungs, I felt the tension slowly ebb away. This was my escape, my sanctuary from the chaos of school and family. Up here, I could be alone with my thoughts, without the constant pressure of fitting in or dealing with everyone's expectations.

The view from the roof was surprisingly nice, the landscape stretching out in front of me. I leaned against the railing, taking another drag and letting my mind wander. Maybe this school wouldn't be so bad after all, as long as I had my moments of solitude.

For now, I could breathe, away from the noise and annoying fucking people who never stop talking.
