{#68} [F] - types of fonts.
15th December 2018.
Hey, guys! Today I'll show you eight types of fonts that I know!
So... these are all my opinions, and if you have any differences just be you. It's not official and always believe in your beliefs.
1. Serif
Let's start with the basics. Serif fonts are the fonts that is stiff and small lines are added on the edges. These fonts are perfect for titles, author names and subtitles. I reccomend adding full stops for making it look aesthetic-worthy.
Examples : Georgia, Radley, Vogue, etc.
2. Sans Serif
Ah... the classic sans serif. Similar to serif, it is a stiff-type font. Unlike serif, no other additional lines are added. This is the type of fonts you usually use to type your essays. These are amazing for author names and subtitles. For the titles I reccomend thick sans serif fonts such as vision-heavy, century gothic bold, introcond black free, etc.
Examples : Century Gothic, Verdana, Gill Sans, etc.
3. Calligraphy/Script
It's getting more famous these days, where each line gets thinner and thinner as reaches upwards. It's a great deal for titles, but zero out of zero for author names and subtitles.
Examples : Siesta, fabulous, Blastpink, etc.
4. Brush
Some people cannot differ calligraphy, brush, and cursive (we'll get to that later). Brush fonts are fonts that fades away and it's not always in cursive, for example, roadrage. Just like calligraphy, great for titles, but not that good for author names and subtitles.
Examples : Clickbait, Quick Menu Boards, Foxlite Script, etc.
5. Cursive
They are very similar to calligraphy fonts but they are usually in a straight line, and each letter is not up and down (if you get what I mean). It's nice for titles; however, for author names and subtitles, make sure it's clear enough for people to read, such as, shorelines.
Examples : Georgina, Priscilla, Shorelines, etc.
6. Handwritten
It basically looks like it's handwritten, thin, and cute. Signature fonts such as befindisa is also this type. They are usually a bit curvy and not perfect or stiff like serif fonts. Amazing for titles, subtitles, and author names. But make sure don't use fonts that crash together which we cannot read it at all.
Examples : Smooth-Stone Regular, Befindisa, Amatic-Bold, etc.
7. Dingbats
We have discussed this before, so brief explanation. For example, if you type 'q' on your keyboard, it will pop out the silhouette of a guy (it depends on the font). It only functions as a decor and nothing else, I highly reccomend for using it on minimalist covers.
Examples : The Meme Font, The Bomb, The Barcode Font, etc.
8. Decorative
They are the cutest type here. They are exaggerated fonts with added decoration. It depends on the fonts if it matches the title, author names, and subtitles.
Examples : KG Chasing Cars, Hanging Letters, Foglihten04, etc.
That's all I can think of!
BTW, I'm really into teddy bears recently. I just dunno why, but we can all agree that they are all adorable.
Any questions? Ask away!
