jungkook's quite ooc in this fic huh (aka all of them are ooc but it's a fic sO whatever)
but it's probs because he's just rly protective slash possessive of taehyung sometimes tho...
it's the morning after the outing at the bar.
jimin stood nervously in front of yoongi's door, tapping his foot against the ground. taking a deep breath, he goes for it and knocks on the door.
not so surprised, yoongi answered immediately. upon the door opening, jimin took notice of how black sweaters suited yoongi's figure.
yoongi yawned, "sorry, i'm still half asleep," he said, "i woke up five minutes ago, sort of overslept? it's like, what? nine?" he stepped aside for jimin to enter.
as jimin stepped in, he smiled at yoongi, "ten," he replied, walking over to the couch and taking a seat. yoongi followed after, watching as jimin gave him a small smile. "let me listen to your music? i barely got sleep waiting for this." he said in a slightly joking tone.
yoongi walked over to his desk, glancing at jimin, "not that good," he shrugged, opening some files on his laptop, "brace yourself."
(insert agust d here)
jimin was about to say something, until the sound yoongi's music filled the air, automatically shuting the younger up. throughout the whole three minutes and fifty-three seconds, jimin stayed silent, letting himself focus on yoongi's rapping.
when it finally ended with the drum-like sounds, jimin did nothing but stare into space.
to prevent the song from replaying, yoongi quickly stopped the track, before looking at jimin with a worried look.
"jimin, are you--"
"that was," jimin looked at yoongi. "so lit."
"what--"
"hyung, that was amazing? i... you rap so fast the-- the rhythm was really good and the lyrics too and... do you put this stuff online?" he inquired.
yoongi was honestly taken aback as he stuttered out, "only on my youtube channel." he answered. "my rap stuff, a mixtape and even some piano covers..."
jimin rubbed his eyes, afterwards looking at yoongi with a genuine grin. "so good. i have nothing else to say," he eyed the piano, looking back at yoongi with a pleading glint in his eyes. "play something live for me, hyung?" he asked politely.
yoongi felt his mouth go dry, glancing at his piano. "sure, i guess..." he walked over to the piano, quickly taking a seat.
jimin watched silently as yoongi cracked his knuckles and stretched his fingers.
"nocturne op. 2 no. 2," yoongi stated, before he began to play.
jimin, silent, listened as light and harmonic music filled the atmosphere. he wasn't fully familiar with the song yoongi was playing, but he knew of it from a movie. nonetheless, the music was relaxing and made jimin feel like he was floating on air or perhaps running in a field of soft, light green grass. overall, he thought that yoongi played it perfectly and really captured the song's beauty and all. jimin had also taken notice of the passionate expression yoongi had, plastered on his face as his fingers fell onto the keys. a small smile was spread upon yoongi's lips, and even the sight of it made jimin smile. it really looked like yoongi genuinely loved the piano, may it be a situation in which he wanted to learn himself when he was a child or his parents forced him into playing it to excel in an instrument-- either way, yoongi looked happy.
right after yoongi played the last few notes, his arms fell to his side as he looked towards jimin with a slightly expectant gaze.
jimin snapped out of it, hastily shifting his stare directly at yoongi with a smile, "that was beautiful."
yoongi nodded. "chopin's works are indeed beautiful."
"no, i mean," jimin said, "you play it like you're... really enjoying it." after yoongi gave him a raise of the brow, jimin laughed lightly and shook his head. "never mind. i can't really explain it."
yoongi scanned jimin's face for a second, before he let out a hum, "want me to teach you how?"
jimin's eyes widened, "i-- i have no idea on how to play. i'm probably bad?" he reasoned.
with a shake of the head, "that's why i'm teaching you." yoongi told him, shifting in his seat and patting the space next to him, inviting jimin over. "come on. i'll teach you." he grinned.
jimin, a bit hesitant, bit his lip. although what won him over was the sight of yoongi's gummy smile. that was the point in which he reluctantly went over and sat next to the older. with a content expression, yoongi started pointing at some keys and telling jimin which note was which. that's when jimin noticed how yoongi didn't have any sheet music placed on the music rack. he freaking memorized it, jimin thought, nodding understandingly at yoongi's question.
what took jimin in for slight shock was when yoongi stood up, walked behind jimin, rested his chin against the top of jimin's head and traced his arms with his arms, hands above the top of jimin's, clearly ready to guide jimin through the part of the song.
jimin, a bit stiff, followed silently as yoongi's own hands-- bigger than his own-- guided him through the song. jimin's breath hitched at how easy it was with yoongi's help, though the song sounded quite medium in difficulty. soon enough, yoongi let go of his hands, told him to play it from the beginning if he'd like, leaving jimin slightly confused. and so, jimin started in the beginning once more, slow at some parts as he had forgotten the position of some notes.
"yah," jimin said, playing slowly, "why'd you leave me all of a sudden?"
yoongi, from behind him, shrugged as he watched jimin struggle to remember some notes. "you're actually pretty good for a beginner. are you sure you've never played the piano before?" at that question, jimin nodded confidently. "d'you know how to read notes?" yoongi asked.
"sort of," jimin replied, playing a bit more smoothly now, "you know, before i was into dancing... i really liked singing, right? well, i was in a choir in my elementary days. i sort of got used to the notes. somehow."
yoongi nodded slowly, watching jimin's smol fingers hit the keys correctly. "well, it'll be easier to teach you, then."
jimin stopped playing, turning around and looking at yoongi. "by that, you mean...?"
"you can come over again next weekend if you're not so busy with work by then," yoongi suggested, "and i could teach you some more, if you'd like?"
all jimin did was give yoongi a sure and ecstatic nod.

meanwhile.
when jeongguk roused, seeing hoseok next to him on the bed, the older of the two staring blankly at the ceiling. upon feeling the younger's gaze on him, hoseok turned his head towards jeongguk.
"good morning." hoseok greeted, his voice rough around the edges.
"is it a good morning?" jeongguk retorted, the pain in his head spreading. "what happened last night? and why are you here?"
"i don't really know?" hoseok laughed. "taehyung came in five minutes ago and told me how the three of us got too drunk. taehyung was the least drunk out of us, so he brought me home with you two since he didn't know my address and was too confused and in pain to text someone and ask for my address."
"that'd be a harder process. going to your house, then going to ours."
"fair point. but he could've just, you know, left me with the cab driver and all."
"too dangerous." jeongguk immediately replied, "possible rapist. murderer and whatnot." he didn't really know why he was somewhat worried of what could've happened if they did leave hoseok in a cab.
"not all cab drivers are evil," hoseok laughed, sitting up.
not all boyfriend stealers are evil, jeongguk thought, eyeing hoseok's warm grin. he then cleared his throat, "i smell food downstairs. let's go, hyung?" he suggested.
hoseok stared at him for a while, before giving him a determined look. soon after, the boys were racing each other downstairs, reaching the dining table with taehyung looking at them as if he were scandalized.
"children." taehyung scoffed.
"speak for yourself!" jeongguk yelled at his boyfriend.
hoseok thought back to jeongguk's childish moments-- the ones he secretly saw when the younger acted around taehyung and the times jeongguk acted like a jealous, whiny nine year old when hoseok stood around taehyung.
"yah," hoseok spoke up, "you're one to talk, jeon jeongguk."
with a slight blush and a huff, jeongguk stuffed his mouth with some food, taehyung laughing in the background. jeongguk, with a grumpy frown, gestured taehyung to come over. when the older of the couple did, jeongguk pulled taehyung by the end of his sweater and planted a small kiss on taehyung's forehead. with a roll of his eyes, taehyung pulled back, ruffled jeongguk's hair before walking out the dining room.
for a few minutes, hoseok and jeongguk were left with nothing but small talk and the sounds of their chewing bouncing off the small walls of the area.
at some point, hoseok began, "hey, um. since i helped taehyung... do you maybe want any help with your part of the project?" he asked, a bit careful.
jeongguk, the smol bean with a slowly growing smile on his face, blinked a bit before giving hoseok a small nod with a nearly inaudible, "sure."
— — —
on monday morning, hoseok found himself in front of an impatient looking jeongguk standing in front of hoseok's office.
"um, what are you--" hoseok tried to ask, but jeongguk cut him off,
"you're five minutes late." jeongguk said, his arms crossed.
a grin spreads across hoseok's lips. "look who's being a kid now," he said, walking past him and ruffling his hair.
with a huff, jeongguk followed his hyung inside the office.
— — —
taehyung, looking over the divider in between his and jeongguk's, asked, "are you staying for overtime?"
jeongguk glanced at taehyung, and back at the amount of paperwork on his desk. taehyung prepares for the 'yes,' but gets taken aback when jeongguk replied with, "i won't." and taehyung just watched in slight confusion as jeongguk began packing his stuff, because jeongguk rarely denied overtime.
on the way to the parking lot, they both see hoseok walking out the building at the same time. and to taehyung's double surprise, jeongguk ran over and asked hoseok if he wanted a ride home.
hoseok, sort of startled as he blinked at jeongguk's small grin, nodded.
and as taehyung watched jeongguk and hoseok interact in the backseat, he lets a small smile make its way to his lips.
the two were getting along.
