five.

do you guys like polyamorous relationships?

also... i realized that i don't really have a core conflict in this story. only the side ship has a conflict... but so far, yoonmin doesn't have one.

it's somewhere late at night and yoongi's still typing away on his laptop, at the office to be exact. jeongguk left around five minutes ago, whilst yoongi's still working on the papers that namjoon had accidentally shred.

yoongi's eyes nearly shut from exhaustion until his laptop emits a low ding, an email notification.

he shifted in his seat, clicking here and there,

Hello, Min Yoongi-sshi! Sorry if it's really late at night and all that, but I just finished one of the six pages and i just wanted to send it now, since I might forget it later!

FirstPage.doc attached

I hope I didn't bother you.

a small makes its way towards yoongi's lips.

nah, u didn't. i'm still at the office, lol.

Oh? Same here! Would you like to meet up and go over the papers? We can meet at the lower lobby and just work there.

sure, see u in 5

yoongi's still typing, except at this point, his laptop's on the coffee table in the lower lobby and the area's slightly darker than usual and it's more quiet-- with the exception of the faint sound of cars near the parking lot.

he's enjoying it-- the quiet, that is. until he hears a loud crash near the lobby entrance.

he looked over and watched as a light blonde male barely had a grasp on his laptop, the blonde's papers all over the carpeted floor. the blonde looked up, towards yoongi, lips pressed into a thin line as he bowed lightly.

"yoongi-sshi," the blonde cleared his throat and yoongi gulped, this must be park jimin. he has a nice voice... "i'm a minute late. i'm sorry. also... sorry for the mess."

he apologizes a lot... "it's okay." yoongi said, getting up to help jimin, but the latter just violently shakes his head.

"no! um." jimin paused, yoongi blinking at him. "you don't have to help me..." jimin quickly places his laptop on the coffee table, proceeding to pick up the scattered papers, bending over and all.

well, yoongi thinks, glancing at his laptop and back at jimin. he has a nice ass, i guess.

yoongi watched as jimin, with all the papers in his grasp, walked over to the sofa, carefully sitting down on the other end, opposite from yoongi. yoongi wouldn't blame him-- they barely know each other, jimin definitely doesn't seem like the person to go buddy buddy on him and sit four inches away from him and all that-- unlike hoseok, but that's a story for another time.

awkward, yoongi thought, deciding to focus on his laptop. after a few seconds, assuming that jimin's got his things set up, yoongi decides to speak up and cut through the awkward silence.

"just call me yoongi." yoongi said, placing his chin on the palm of his hand, elbow resting on his thigh as he worked silently.

from the other side of the sofa, jimin took a few seconds to register yoongi's words. "huh?"

"the yoongi-sshi. just call me hyung or something."

"oh." jimin glanced at yoongi. "okay, y-- hyung..." he then went back to work, a glint of happiness in his eyes.

yoongi smiled.

— — —

hoseok laughed, opening the door for taehyung. taehyung, still feeling a bit proud of making hoseok laugh, muttered a small thanks, before entering the lobby.

as the two walked in, they both froze at the sight of yoongi, curled up on the floor, and jimin taking up the whole sofa, arm covering his eyes as he sleeps. there're papers all over the place, some on the floor but most scattered on the table, two laptops on the coffee table.

hoseok walks over, glancing at the laptops. "both are nearly out of battery..."

taehyung walked over next to hoseok, peering over at the papers. "oh, cool!" he exclaimed, "they finished, like, half of the second page." he frowned, realizing that it was actually slow progress. "oh, well." he mumbled.

hoseok scratched the back of his head. "they stayed here all night?"

"i guess so." taehyung replied, eyeing the sofa. he couldn't help but feel a bit worried for his best friend-- the sofa didn't look that comfortable. but then again, there's yoongi...

hoseok hummed, walking over to the office entrance. "let's go."

taehyung nodded, following the older. "hey, hobi," he began, a cheeky smile on his face.

hoseok, holding the door open, rolled his eyes. "yes, taehyung?"

"why did the bicycle fall over?"

"why?"

"because it was two tired." taehyung giggled.

hoseok grinned, rolling his eyes. he slapped taehyung on the back, letting the younger enter the office with a yell. hoseok followed behind him, still smiling at taehyung's stupid jokes.

by the coffee table, jeongguk, unnoticed by everyone, glanced at jimin and yoongi, then at the office entrance, where taehyung and hoseok used to be.

jeongguk frowned.

— — —

over the divider between their desks, taehyung taps the papers against the top, looking over at jeongguk, who was frowning at his laptop's screen as he typed.

"jeongguk," taehyung called. jeongguk's typing got rougher. taehyung, frowning at how the younger was unresponsive, tapped the papers against the divider once more in an attempt to get his attention.

mark looks over at jeongguk, "jeongguk, taehyung's talking to you..."

"i'm aware." jeongguk said, eyes still glued to his laptop.

taehyung tapped the papers once more, "jeongguk, help me with these."

jeongguk turns to taehyung with a glare. "why don't you ask that orange haired carrot for help?" he seethed, getting up from his chair and stomping over to the break room without another word.

the room is silent.

"orange haired..." taehyung muttered, "hoseok hyung?"

"the guy from the other apartment?" mark asked.

"well, yeah."

jimin, looking a bit sleepy, peered over from his desk. "oh my god. are you cheating on kookie?"

taehyung's eyes widened. "no! i just walked with hoseok hyung this morning. from the parking lot to the lobby... we're just friends." he bit his lip, looking confused. "is that cheating?"

"not really?" mark said.

"maybe you should clear up the misunderstanding, then." jimin shrugged. "wasn't jeongguk with you in the car?"

"yeah, well, he was gathering his stuff, so i went ahead and met hoseok hyung on the way so we talked a bit and went together. maybe jeongguk saw us..." taehyung sighed, afterwards letting out a whine at how confusing the situation was. it was actually troubling him.

"good luck with that." mark mumbled.

jimin wiped his eyes, "seems tricky to explain." he said. "does he even know you're friends with hoseok? how did you even become friends with hoseok?" he crossed his arms, leaning back on his chair, "why did you not tell me anything about this?"

"i thought it wasn't a big deal!" taehyung sighed, exasperated. "i mean, hoseok's just a friend. i just talk to him after work when jeongguk does overtime because we always leave around the same time and i just end up giving hoseok a ride..."

mark snorted. "a ride on what? your car, or--"

jimin glared daggers at him. "you're not helping."

"okay," mark raises his hands in defense and looks over at taehyung, who's staring blankly at the floor, eyes filled with worry. "go ahead and clear things up. he might break up with you."

taehyung frowned at mark. "he can't break up with me. we're soulmates."

"honey," mark sighed, "just because you're soulmates, doesn't mean he can't slowly develop a sense of hatred for you and inevitably leave you in the end."

"but they're soulmates?" jimin said, confused, "they're meant to be."

"take jackson and i for example," mark rolled his eyes, "we love each other and we're soulmates but if that man ever thinks of cheating on me, i will not hesitate on dumping his ass. i'd never want to see him again."

"you can't say that," jimin argued, "no matter what happens, soulmates will end up together."

mark shook his head, rubbing at his temples. "my parents aren't soulmates. but they ended up together, regardless."

"how do you know they're not cheating on each other?" jimin questioned.

"they may be in another country, but my siblings keep track of their whereabouts, texts and calls and such."

"isn't that a bit too private to dig into?"

"it'd be a huge mess if they filed a divorce. i would probably have to move to another country again. but hey," mark smiled, "they're currently loyal to each other."

"fuck." taehyung said.

"fuck, indeed," jimin said, giving his best friend a look of pity. "stop moping around, tae. just go talk to jeongguk."

taehyung groaned, getting up from his seat. "okay." he said, striding over to the break room with shouts of encouragement from mark and jimin. he enters quietly, closing the door, trying not to make much sounds as he glanced over at jeongguk, who was passed out on the break room's sofa, sleeping soundly, still in a sitting position.

he walks over, sits next to the sleeping jeongguk, planting a kiss on the younger's forehead. "you work too much..." taehyung whispered, watching as jeongguk slowly woke from his short sleep.

jeongguk blinked, wincing at the ceiling light. jeongguk rubbed his eyes as he sat up, before turning to his side, seeing taehyung. he flinches, then frowned, arms crossed.

"what are you doing here?" jeongguk mumbled, looking at taehyung, the bitter frown not ceasing from his face.

"i'm here to apologize?" taehyung grinned.

jeongguk's frown faltered for a second, before he scoffed and looked away.

"you don't want me here?" taehyung asked, getting no response. he sighed. "okay. well." he got up from the sofa, only to be surprisingly pulled back down by the wrist, by none other than jeon jeongguk, who's still looking at him with a frown, but this time, there's a small glint in his eyes, hinting for taehyung to continue.

"no." jeongguk said. "just apologize."

taehyung smiled. "i'm sorry. i know you're jealous of hoseok."

jeongguk gritted his teeth. so that's his name...

"there's no need to be jealous," taehyung said, leaning over to kiss jeongguk on the side of his head. "hoseok and i are just friends, anyway. after you tell me to go home when you stay for overtime, i often end up giving him a ride to his house because he always takes the cab. then i go straight to our apartment."

"oh." jeongguk lowered his arms. "that's... that's it?"

"no," taehyung said, leaning over once more, this time to give jeongguk a small kiss on the cheek. "i also wanted to say, that i love you."

jeongguk rolled his eyes, a small, satisfied smile stretched across his lips as he looked at taehyung, straight in the eyes.

"and i love you too."
