interlude.
it's a friday. the week passes by in a blur, filled with busy meetings, hours of working even late in the night, but generally, everybody's just glad that friday's finally here.
and in department eight, sits min yoongi, in front of his desk, collecting his scattered papers as he muttered under his breath, "it's so stupid. they keep drawing dicks on my forehead..." he then lets out a small tch, at the thought of the constant dicks drawn on his forehead through none other than his soulmate.
little did he know, that over the divider of hoseok and his' desks, was a contemplative jung hoseok who'd snapped out of his thoughts at the mention of they + keep + drawing + dicks + on + my + forehead.
he looked over, an unsure expression on his features. slowly, he asked, "who keeps drawing what on your forehead, hyung?"
yoongi glanced up, giving hoseok a nonchalant stare as his shoulders lifted into a shrug. "my soulmate," he answered, tapping his pile of papers against the desk, in hopes that they'd properly align on the stack. "they keep drawing dicks on my forehead. it's getting seriously annoying. i had to write something on my arm just to tell them to stop." he groaned.
hoseok spluttered a bit. "what. the fuck." he stood up, earning an odd stare from yoongi, "i... i gotta go."
and hoseok runs.
runs to department seven.

the first thing that went through taehyung's head when he spotted jung hoseok bursting into their office was, wow. hyung's looking fine today.
second, was what the fuck is he doing when hoseok practically threw him out of his chair, dragging him to the break room and locking the door, ignoring taehyung's loud protests and even jeongguk's questioning yells.
"okay, um," taehyung tried to say, before hoseok pushed him onto the couch, panting as he falls back and sits next to taehyung. "what the fuck are you doing? i honestly feel so violated, i--"
hoseok silenced him with a stare. "yoongi. min yoongi." he breathed out, "is park jimin's soulmate."
at first, taehyung blinked.
then he gawked.
and then he let out inaudible voice, obviously in a state of shock and disbelief.
hoseok felt like he had to explain, so he went, "you remember when we drew dicks on jimin's forehead the other day? well, this morning, yoongi was complaining about his soulmate drawing dicks on his forehead!"
"what."
"come to think of it... when jackson went over to our department, did you draw dicks on jimin's forehead?"
"we-- well, yeah..."
hoseok's eyes lit up. "so it is true! they're soulmates!"
taehyung raised his hands, waving them, gesturing for hoseok to slow down. "whoa, whoa. wait. what if it's just a coincidence, hyung?" he desperately suggested, "maybe... maybe his soulmate's just a stupid sixth grader, messing with his friends... and... and--"
hoseok frowned, cutting him off. "a coincidence? really, taehyung? it all makes sense! maybe that's how they got along so quickly..." hoseok started to think deeply into it, until he glanced up at taehyung, the boy still exhibiting a skeptical look on his face. "...taehyung, if you don't believe me, go check jimin's arm. yoongi mentioned something about leaving a message for his soulmate, and--"
taehyung got up. walked out the door.
hoseok waited.
sighed.
and a few seconds later, taehyung made an appearance, frantically slammed the door close, a click signaling the locking of the door. taehyung jumps onto the couch, looking absolutely terrified as he grasped his own hair, pulling anxiously.
"oh my god! they're soulmates." he said, tone of voice as if hoseok never even brought up the topic. "i checked his arm and... jesus christ, yoongi hyung's handwriting is... uh--"
"i know."
"...they're... they're destined to be."
"i know."
taehyung looked up from the space he'd been staring at for a while, looking at his hyung with a troubled and confused look, though it seemed as if the two of them had just discovered the secrets of the universe.
"well... are we... are we gonna tell them?"
the two were doused in silence for a moment, neither knowing what to say. hoseok spoke up first, giving taehyung a sure shake of the head.
"no. let's... we'll let them figure out by themselves."
"are you sure, hyung?" taehyung questioned. "j-- jimin's always been excited about meeting his soulmate. and now that's his soulmate was apparently in this actual building this whole time..." taehyung sighed, "it's such a great coincidence."
"not a coincidence," hoseok said, "fate."
taehyung glanced up at him. "yeah. fate."
"let's keep this a secret for now." hoseok said, and taehyung slowly nodded in agreement. "if fate brought them to this building, then i'm sure destiny-- fate, whatever you call it, will bring them closer."
"maybe you're right." taehyung bit his lip, half of his head still contemplative, but then again-- it wasn't his business. he had... other problems. "okay. let's not tell them. let's... let's not tell anyone."
hoseok just gave him a short nod. "okay."
