I was so excited! We were FINALLY going to start recording after DAYS of rehearsing, learning the lyrics, late nights and hard work. The first song that we were going to record was Home. I couldn't even sleep properly the night before the first day!

"Alright, you guys! Warmup's done, now time for the real stuff," Scooter said, bringing me back to reality and causing everyone to cheer and clap.

Nathan's POV:

I clapped along with everyone else and glanced at Haley, smiling at her excited face. A sudden pang of sadness hit me in the chest, surprising me greatly. I pressed my hand to my chest and took a few deep breaths. Siva gave me a weird look.

"You okay, Nath??" he asked. I nodded absentmindedly.

"Yeah, Siv," I lied, nodding at him and smiling. He looked unconvinced but he let it pass with a nod. The truth was that I hadn't been feeling like myself for quite a while... And the scary bit was that I knew EXACTLY what the reason was... Or who... I furrowed my eyebrows and shook my head to clear it.

"Alright you guys, here's what I want you to do. You will stand in front of your singing partner and practice the song. We'll do Home first. We clear?" Scooter said. I glanced at him and nodded like everyone else. We all got up from our seats and I went and stood in the centre of the recording studio. Haley came over and stood in front of me. Oh great... I felt a nauseous feeling grow inside of me but I closed my eyes and took in another few deep breaths.

"Nath?" My eyes snapped open at Haley's voice. I looked up at her questioningly.

"You... Okay?" I sighed, searching my head for an answer but when no words made their way to my mouth, I simply nodded slowly.

"You sure?" she asked again.

"I'm fine, Haley," I snapped. Haley looked a little taken aback and pursed her lips, nodding. I sighed in annoyance. Great! Now she probably hated my guts.

"I'm sorry, I can't do this..." I mumbled. I placed my lyrics sheets on the table near the entrance and walked out. I could feel everyone's confused gazes on me but I needed to get away from there... Away from HER...

Jay's POV:

"Uhhh... What just happened?" Tom asked but the room had gone awfully quiet. Everyone had stopped doing what they were doing and focused on a... Seemingly tired Nathan walking out of the room.

"Can someone please answer Jay so we can get some answers and get that kid back in this room?" Scooter said angrily. When no one answered, Scooter sighed heavily.

"Okay... We can't stop working just because one of us left. I'll read out Nathan's parts and the rest of you will sing your parts as you normally would. You okay with working alone for today, Haley?" Scooter said again in a calmer tone. A distracted Haley looked up at Scooter with furrowed eyebrows and nodded.

"You okay, Hal?" I heard Lindsey ask Haley, who glanced at her bandmate and nodded.

"Yeah," she mumbled but it didn't sound as convincing as she might have wanted it to. Lindsey didn't seem really convinced. She looked up and caught my eye. I gave her a questioning look but she shrugged. I nodded, telling her that it was okay that she didn't know what was wrong. It seemed that nobody did... Nobody but Haley.
