Chapter 1:

Haley's POV:

I seriously couldn't believe how far we'd come! Who are WE? One word: Dignity. Its members? Nick Dawson, Jason Moor, Lindsey Jones and Lisa Rogers and me, Haley Johnson. How did we all meet? Well...

*FLASHBACK*

I walked into the principal's office.

"Welcome, Haley. I hope you like it here. Here are your papers," Mrs. Mayers said. I smiled.

"Thank you," I mumbled as I took the envelope from her hand.

"Wait for a minute, Haley. I'll get someone to help... Oh, Nicholas! Perfect timing," I turned around to see a boy wearing a Prefect's robe walk up to the principal's office.

"Yes, Mrs. Mayers?" he said in a kind voice.

"I want you to help Haley here in finding her way till she can do it on her own," Mrs. Mayers replied and Nicholas looked at me and then at the principal, nodding.

"Good lad, Nicholas. Now run along, you two. Classes start any minute," she said, ushering us out of the office.

"Whats your locker number?" he asked. I started looking in the envelope and was struggling with the numerous papers. Nicholas chuckled.

"Here, let me," I chuckled, embarrased and handed him the envelope. He looked through it and found the small piece of paper with the locker number on it. He took me to my locker.

"Thanks... Nicholas?" I asked slowly. He grinned.

"Nick," he corrected me.

"That sounds way better!" I said and we both laughed.

"I'm Haley," I introduced myself, holding out my hand. He shook it.

"Nice to meet ya," he replied, smiling.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

Nick and I've been best friends ever since. The rest?

*FLASHBACK*

"Hey, Hal!" Nick called. He jogged upto me and hugged me.

"Yo, Nick," I said, grinning. He grinned back.

"Yo. Hey listen, there's someone I want you to meet," he said. I nodded and before I could ask who it was, a girl called Nick from behind. We turned and grinning, Nick ran to a girl wearing tomboyish clothes and brought her over to where I was.

"Hey Haley, this is Lisa, my other best friend. Lisa, this is Haley," I smiled at Lisa, who smiled back.

"So, you're the one who stole my best friend, huh?" she asked, surprising me but I caught the joking tone she was using.

"Well, you can have him back. He's all yours," I replied, grinning. Lisa let out a laugh.

"Lets share him, shall we?" she asked, holding in a laugh. I grinned and nodded. When we caught Nick's expression, we broke and started laughing out loud.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

Lisa, Nick and I were always together after that. Great times... Then at a party, we met Jason and Lindsey.

*FLASHBACK*

"Hey guys!" Lisa shouted when she sat with us in the park.

"We're right here, Lisa. The shouting would only blow our eardrums," I said, rubbing my left ear. She grinned.

"I agree," Nick said and I shook his hand vigorously, causing Lisa to laugh.

"Whatever. Hey! There's a party Kate's house. You guys wanna go?" Lisa asked excitedly. Nick frowned.

"Kate's one of the populars," I said, looking at Nick. He 'ooh'd and grinned at me.

"Thanks, Haley," he said. I smiled.

"No problemo, Nick," I replied.

"Okay, now that that's done, do you guys wanna go? PPLLLEEAASSEE!!" Lisa whined.

"When?" Nick and I asked together.

"Saturday. So is that a yes?" Lisa grinned at us. I glanced at Nick, who shrugged. I looked Lisa.

"I guess it is," I said. Lisa jumped up, fisting the air.

"YES!" I cried out.

*At Party*

"Woah," Nick and I mumbled as we entered Kate's house... Correction, mansion.

"LET'S PARTY!" Lisa shouted and ran off, leaving us to follow her... Or get lost. We chose the latter... Or it chose us. In any event, we were lost in a mansion. We ended up outside somehow and decided to walk around the building. We could hear the music very clearly and thought of how loud it must've been inside.

"Hey, you guys here for the party?" we heard a voice ask. We turned to find a dark skinned boy standing with a cup in his hand. We both nodded.

"Bored of it already?" he asked.

"Never got to it, let alone being bored of it!" Nick exclaimed, causing me to chuckle.

"We kinda got..." I began.

"Lost, I know. Don't worry. Even after seeing this place for so long, I still get lost!" he asked, grinning.

"And you are?" Nick asked politely.

"Jason," the boys replied holding out his hand.

"Nick," Nick said, shaking Jason's hand.

"Haley," I said, shaking his hand as well. He smiled.

"Nice to meet you guys," Jason said.

"Lets get you to the party, then?" he said and started walking back inside. We fell in step with him.

"Do you know Kate?" I asked after a moment. Jason nodded.

"She's my cousin," he replied, glancing at me and smiled. The music got louder and Jason stopped in front a pair of huge double-doors.

"Here we are," he said. We opened the doors and were hit with a wave of extremely loud music. Nick and I turned around to face Jason.

"You coming, Jason?" Nick asked. He began shaking his head when someone shouted from behind us.

"JASON! THERE YOU ARE!" we turned around to see a girl, with the same face as Kate, running towards Jason.

"I guess I am," Jason muttered, causing Nick and I to smile. The girl reached Jason and hugged him. He chuckled.

"Where WERE you?" she asked breathlessly. He looked at us.

"I was helping out my friends Nick and Haley," he replied, motioning at us. The girl turned around and smiled widely at us. 

"Hi!" she said, shaking our hands. I smiled at her. 

"Are you related to Kate?" Nick asked. She nodded vigorously. 

"Yeah, I'm her sister," she replied. 

"Linds, you going to tell them your name or...?" Jason asked with a grin. 

"Oh, right! Silly me! I'm Lindsey," she introduced herself in a hastle, shaking our hands again. Nick, Jason and I laughed. She grinned. 

"Well, what are you standing outside for? There's a party to enjoy!" Lindsey cried out, taking Nick and I by our hands and dragged us inside. Laughing, Jason followed. 

*END OF FLASHBACK*

So, there you have it. That is how all the members of Dignity met. But how did we become a group? Well, long story short, we five did an unplanned performance that night at Kate's party and were told by many that our harmonies and voices worked wonders together. We asked our parents and performed together at the Kingston High (the highschool Nick, Lisa and I went to) Talent Show, winning first place. it took off after that. We started doing small performances at various places and Jason's big sister used to make a video of our performances and upload them on YouTube. Our group took a huge turn when we were noticed by none other than the famous Scooter Braun. he signed our record deal and flew us and our families out to LA. And that, my friends, is how this little tale bagan...
