She blinks at that before frowning. "No sweetie! There's nothing wrong about being loved by Mother Mana." She assures quickly. You tilt your head, you had heard that name before but you weren't sure who that was exactly. 

          "I can only pick two though? Can I still learn the others?" You ask carefully. 

         "If that's what you want to do. You just have to be careful dear…. Other creatures will be jealous if they find out. And it will cause problems." She responds. You nod in understanding, but a frown sets on your lips. 

         "How about you take a few days before deciding on the two you want?" Your dad offers. 

         "Okay." You nod. 

         "Something up?" Osamu asks you as you both wait for Atsumu. You peer at him as he watches for his brother.

         "Um… Noth-" You stop yourself, making him peer at you quietly. "... I'll talk to you about it later." You offer. He blinks and gives a nod, touching your back as Atsumu comes up. 

         "Ah… I'm tired." He yawns, stretching and exposing part of his stomach in the process. 

         "When did you get a tattoo?" You blink lifting his shirt slightly. He jumps and pulls down his shirt.

         "It's not a tattoo. It's my attribute mark." He huffs with a light blush. "Osamu has one too."

         "Oh, that's right. You both did the ceremony." You remember with a nod looking to Osamu as he lifts his shirt to show you the ice colored mark on his side, touching his stomach. 

         "Mhm… How did yours go?" Osamu asks you. 

         "... Fine. I don't get markings like you though." You offer a smile as you head off for school. Osamu blinks, sharing a look with his twin. 

          "Alright." He murmurs quietly. 

          You look ahead, mind still going over yesterday's events. It had kept you up last night as well. 

          As you near the school you catch sight of Tendo. He was waiting on the sidewalk with a smile. Once he spots you he lights up coming over and glomping you. 

         "___!" He chimes cuddling your cheek. Your instincts made you freeze and pale. 

         "Good morning Tendo." You greet, rubbing his back. 

         "Damn imp." Atsumu scoffs. 

         "Good morning Tendo." Osamu greets as well. "You hungry? I brought some extra from our breakfast." He holds out a bento box. Tendo blinks at him before taking the box. 

         "... Thanks." He murmurs quietly. 

         "Did you sleep well?" You smile, leading him onto campus. He smiles softly, going with you to sit in the courtyard and eat. 

         "I did. But not for long. Nightmares." He shrugs slightly. "What about you?"

         "I didn't dream." You offer. 

         "Really? That's too bad. I bet you have cute ones." He hums. 

         "Not really. This one time I turned into an octopus in one and went around smacking people with all of my arms." You inform him, flopping your sleeves as an example. He half chokes on his food at that swallowing before laughing in amusement. 

        "I stand corrected." He snorts.  

        "It was fun. They all made the 'smack' sound effects." You hum. He chuckles softly in amusement. 

        "That's weird. I had one, of being a cake and running away from a wedding." Osamu murmurs.

        "I remember that one." Atsumu nods. "I woke up to you yelling, 'Do not cut the cake!'." 

        "Of course you would have that sort of dream." You tease him.

         "Dream? No. It was definitely a nightmare." He sighs. 

         "Heh. Sounds like one." Tendo murmurs. You peer at his face as it becomes shadowed. You blink and touch his back as he finishes the food. "My compliments to ze' chief." He brightens up suddenly, as he closes the bento box. 

         "Good." Osamu smiles, taking back the now empty box. 

         "We should head to class soon." Tendo tells you. 

         "Right. See you guys later." You tell the twins.

         "See you." Osamu waves.

         "Be careful." Atsumu nods. 

         You went through the first two classes in a daze. Finally when you reach third period, Tendo finally asks. "What's wrong?" 

         "What attribute do you think is the strongest?" You ask him. He blinks and leans back in his seat in thought. 

         "Depends on the species." He murmurs. "See, the rarer the element for a species the stronger it is."

          "Really?" You blink in surprise. He nods looking down.

          "For example, the attributes of an imp are usually earth, plant, darkness, poison… The rarest attributes for an imp are fire and lightning. So when an imp possesses one of those attributes they're supposed to be significantly stronger than the rest… Assuming they consume what they need to be stronger." He explains quietly. 

          'Consume what they need…' You silently echo. "I see…" You nod. 

          "And~ the rare attributes for a fairy are darkness, fire, and lightning." He informs you happily. 

          "Really?" You blink in surprise. Darkness wasn't one of the orbs that had lifted for you. But the other two had. 

          "Mhm. I wonder what attributes you'll get. It'll definitely be two." He smiles. 

          "Yeah… Which ones do you think would suit me?" You ask him. 

          "Definitely light…" He answers right away with a nod before tilting his head. "The second one… Plant or water." 

          "I see…" You smile thoughtfully, you were curious about his first choice, why that seemed the most obvious to him. He meets your gaze and smiles, putting a finger to your lips. 

           "I won't tell you why. That's a bit too embarrassing." He chuckles. You pause, feeling yourself blush slightly. 

           "Ah… But I didn't say anything." You point out. 

           "You didn't have to." He hums. "You looked so curious all of a sudden so I had a feeling that was it." 

           "That so…" You hum looking away sheepishly. 

           "What are you two talking about?" Mika asks, joining you with Kiyoko.

           "What attributes suit me." You tell them. 

           "Light." They both state, making Tendo laugh lightly as you blink in surprise. 

           "Or plant." Mika adds.

           "I was thinking water, she can be calm on the surface but could drown someone if they're not careful." Kiyoko nods, making everyone pause and look at her warily, only to get a cute smile in response.

           "That was… Thought out." You remark.

           "I'm a water attribute so…" Kiyoko points at herself. That was a bit alarming now. Mika hugs you at that.

           "Don't worry ___, I'll protect you from the scary Kiyoko." She murmurs, making Kiyoko giggle.

           "It was a joke, you two." She hums.

           "Okay… What's your attribute Mika?" You ask her curiously.

           "Wind. I'm very quick." She smiles.

           "I see." You nod smiling. 

           "What about you, Tendo?" Mika inquires, making you look at him as he pauses. 

           "I uh… Don't really have one, my magic power is almost nonexistent so…" He shrugs slightly.

           "Oh… Well that's fine." Mika shrugs.

           "Yeah, you don't really need magic to pass anyway." Kiyoko nods.

           "Right." Tendo smiles a bit at that, making you smile as well.

           "Focus class! It's time to begin." Mr. Shackle declares.

           After that class came Ms. Lana's, Oikawa decides to join you and Mika at your table this time. "So what club are you starting with today?" He asks you excitedly. 

           "I was thinking I would go to gardening club." You tell him.

           "Awe. So I'm starting baking club alone today?" Mika pouts.

           "Not alone. My best friend will be there. You remember Osamu from yesterday, right?" You remind her.

            "Oh yeah. He seemed nice." She smiles at that.

            "Perfect, I was thinking of starting with gardening club today too. So we'll be together." Oikawa rumbles.

            "Sounds good to me." You smile a bit. 

           "Oh. By the way Oikawa what's your attribute?" Mika asks him.

           "Hm? Metal and Darkness." He smiles at her. 

          "Really? Metal's rare for a demon." Mika blinks. 

          "Mhm. I'm a bit of a rarity." He smiles. You blink and smile thoughtfully. That made you feel a bit better. 

          "Sorry I'm late." A voice catches your attention and you look to the door as a bigger, more built guy comes in. Oikawa scoffs quietly beside you.

          "It's okay Ushijima, we haven't started yet." Ms. Lana assures. He dips his head before moving past to sit in the back. You felt even smaller when he passed by. 

           "A giant?" You whisper to Oikawa. 

           "Nope. That monster is a demigod." He responds in distaste. You pause in amazement, Ushijima sounded like a powerful sort. 

           "You don't like him?" You ask. He shakes his head at that.

           "He's one of the ones I need to beat." He murmurs. So he was rivals with Ushijima? Oikawa must be strong himself. 

           'So many strong people here…' You smile feeling a bit excited to see what was to come. 

           Finally, it was time for your first club day. Tendo walks with you cheerfully, he seemed excited as well. "You're going to be amazed by how many more plants there are." He tells you.

           "I've read about some in the fairy history book…" You nod. 

           "Oh? How far have you gotten in it?" He asks you. 

           "Mm. The Celestial and Fairy alliance. They were rebuilding…" You blink, forgetting what it had been.

           "The mermaid sanctuary." He hums with a nod."That's like ten pages in." 

           "I know. But using the magnifying glass to read is a pain." You pout. He laughs lightly at that.

           "Yeah that's true. But you get used to it." He tilts his head. 

           "What. You have a fairy history book too?" You blink in surprise, making him pause.

           "Ah… Yeah… I found it." He rubs his neck with a careful smile.

           "No wonder you seem to know more than me…. I gotta get better." You sigh in thought.

           "I probably had my history book longer." He assures tilting his head. "Maybe I can make you a summary so we can be on the same page."

          "You can summarize that?" You gasp in amazement. "Wait. No, don't… I'll catch up." You give a thumbs up.

          "Alright." He nods in amusement.

          You enter the club room, seeing some familiar faces. Kiyoko waves to you with a smile, so you move to join her. You glance over to see Oikawa scowling lightly.

           "Um… Are you okay Oikawa?" You ask lightly. He meets your gaze before sending a pointed look to Ushijima. "Oh…" 

           "Welcome freshmen to the gardening club. I'm Tashiro, and the current club captain. I'm happy to see so many newcomers. Let's start off with a tour of the greenhouses that sit all around campus." The captain rumbles leading the group out. "Every year a greenhouse is given to the club to make a theme or whatever they like with it. This first greenhouse I'm about to show you is five years old, and it has a merman plant theme." 

            Entering the first greenhouse, you're greeted by an aquarium type theme, the gorgeous mystical underwater plants glowing lightly. 

            "Wow… Feels like home." Kiyoko breathes.

            "Look ___, it's a leviathan gem lily." Tendo points out a giant underwater flower that seemed to be the centerpiece of the greenhouse. "On blue moons they release surges of mana and cause giant waves." He tells you. 

           "Kind of scary. But it's so pretty! Looks like it has scales." You gasp. He chuckles in amusement at that.

           "___! Come look at the mermaid rose!" Oikawa suddenly pulls on your hand to show you the multicolored glowing rose. "If you use this in a love potion you'll be irresistible to aquatic types." He rumbles. "Oh. And it's also an ingredient for a water breathing potion." 

           "It's lovely." You blink at it in awe. 

           "___ come look at my favorite." Kiyoko requests, bringing you to another tank. "It's called sea dragon coral." She points to a glowing blue-green plant that looked like coral but danced in place like a fish. "It glows brightly during full moons and will sometimes relocate. The mermaids believe that they are a symbol of peace and luck. So when one appears near our home we have a celebration." 

          "Wow! So you live in the ocean?" You blink at her in awe.

          "Not currently. When I leave school I usually go to the water nymph colony. They live in a giant lake in the mountains nearby." She smiles.

          "But isn't that a far way?" You frown.

          "Actually there's door at the school that are portals to certain places to make it easier for students to commute." Oikawa tells you looking at Kiyoko. "So what's your name Ms. Mermaid?" He smiles charmingly. Kiyoko promptly takes your hand to show you a few more plants.

           "Alright, let's go to the next greenhouse. This one is poison themed so be careful not to touch anything." Tashiro says, leading everyone out to the next one. 

           It looked more like a mushroom garden, there were a few creepy and dangerous looking plants about too, you recognized a few actually. You warily move closer to Tendo. 

          "Ah. You recognize them huh? The main one you should avoid is the devil's claw. A cut from that can kill a fairy." He points to the black briar, it's blood red thorns seemed to move about slightly. You swallow uneasily, clutching his sleeve. 

          "Not only that, but the spores from that mushroom can kill a number of things too." Daishou points. "This is probably the most dangerous place in the school."

          "That's true, but not to worry, the teachers have the dangerous days marked on the calendar that we passed at the entrance. And they lock it up on those days as an extra precaution." Tashiro assures. 

           "The mushrooms are pretty though, and the witch smiles are blooming nicely." Tendo hums. 

           "___! Come looking at the imp rose here. Don't smell it though." Oikawa flags you over to his side. 

           "You like roses huh?" You ask him curiously. 

           "Mhm. I want to make a rose garden for all of the variants. Plus. They're great ingredients. If I can get them going it'll help mom out a lot." He smiles thoughtfully at the rose. You peer at him. 

           "You're good Oikawa." You comment. He blinks before looking at you and chuckling. 

           "Saying that to a demon… People will think you're incredibly naive." He murmurs.

           "That's probably true though." You smile looking at the black and purple rose, red thorns marking it's stem as well. 

           "Kinda ugly huh?" Tendo comments, resting his chin on top of your head. 

           "Well it is one of the darker variants." Oikawa hums. 

           "I think it's pretty." You murmur. Tendo chuckles at that and puts his index fingers to your cheeks. 

           "You can be honest, you know? It's not gonna hurt the plant's feelings." He hums.

           "I am being honest though." You frown a bit.

          "This tree bears fruit." Ushijima comments.

          "Ah, be careful big guy. That's death grape. It's used in most poisons." Tendo warns lightly.

          "Too bad. They look ripe." He tilts his head while Oikawa rolls his eyes. You nudge the demon at that. 

          "Alright come on, we got two more to look in. The dragon theme is next." Tashiro rumbles.

           "Dragon theme?" You and Kiyoko blink in awe at that. 

           "Oh! Is there a dragon flame rose?" Oikawa gasps.

           "Unfortunately those are incredibly dangerous to get." Tashiro hums. 

           "They're one of the most beautiful roses, but they only grow in dragon nests." Oikawa tells you. "So they're rare finds."

           "Wow. I wonder if I'll get to see one while I'm here." You blink feeling curious as they enter the next greenhouse. Tendo blinks at that, peering at you as your face lights up at the inside of the greenhouse. "Wow! These look so cool!" You gasp moving ahead.

            "Ah! Be careful ___! Some of these-” Oikawa cuts off as Kiyoko pulls you back as a flower spews out a small fireball. "Breathe… fire." He finishes with a sigh.

            "Are you okay?" Kiyoko asks you when you look up at her.

            "Yeah. Thanks… Sorry I got excited." You send her a sheepish smile. 

            "No harm done." She giggles lightly. Tendo chuckles coming over to your side. 

            "You're so cute ___." He hums, making you blush and look away in embarrassment. 

            "Tendo…" You murmur. He gushes and hugs you at that, making you still. 

            "Oh, let's go look at the dragon lily!" He chimes steering you to it. "It's petals are really spicy. Dragonkin love to put them in their dishes." He points, leaning his cheek on your head.

            "It's pretty!" You beam. "Hey Tashiro senpai, can we visit these greenhouses whenever we want?" You ask. 

            "Yep! Hopefully it'll give your candidates an idea of what to do for this year's greenhouse." He rumbles.

            "Candidates?" Oikawa blinks.

            "Yep. It's a raffle, two winners get to work together for it. But if a senior doesn't get a chance to do it by their third year they get to help the winners." He informs thoughtfully. "But we've all done it so if you do win, you get to work on it with the other winner." 

            "Oh… I like that…" You smile thoughtfully.

            "Good. In two months we'll do the drawing and the winners can get started." He nods thoughtfully. 

            The next greenhouse had the generic human world plants you and Tendo knew already. "Awe… They don't have any protea…" You murmur peering about.

            "Maybe they couldn't fit them…" Tendo frowns. "I wanted to get another one. The one you gave me is dried out now…" You look over at him as he pouts slightly, a smile building on your lips.

            "I'm growing some of them at home. When they're ready I'll bring you some." You tell him. He blinks, meeting your gaze before smiling happily and hugging you.

           "Awe! ___ is so sweet!" He chimes. You swallow as your blood runs cold. 

           "N-No need for thanks. We're friends after all," You respond trying to keep your body calm though your instincts were yet again demanding you flee. 

           "Um… Let's do this." Oikawa hums picking you up and placing you away from the happy imp.

           "Aw…" Tendo pouts at that as Oikawa nods in satisfaction to himself. 

           "I-I was fine, Oikawa. But thanks." You tell the demon.

           "Ah. It just looked like a rabbit caught by a fox." He shrugs with a sheepish smile. 

           "Or a mouse caught by a snake." Kiyoko agrees.

           "No. The snake wouldn't have let go that easily." Daishou breathes, reaching into one of the bushes and bringing out a green snake. "Isn't that right?" He murmurs to the scaly creature.

           "Awww he's so cute!" You gasp going over to his side. 

           "Mhm. He's keeping this greenhouse nice and clear of pests." He rumbles, before moving the snake to another planter. 

           "Alright, let's head back to the club room. We have some planters all ready for you." Tashiro rumbles leading the way out. 

           You peer over at Tendo as he rubs his neck looking at the ground quietly. You blink, going to his side, wondering if the other's words had bothered him. Instead of asking, you grip his sleeve, drawing his attention as you give a smile. 

          "I caught you." You breathe. He blinks before smiling and chuckling, leaning into you at that. 

          "Oh no~…. That's what I get for letting my guard down." He jokes lightly, making you giggle. "So what kind of garden are you going to start?" He asks you. 

          "Hmmm. I'm not sure." You admit, tilting your head. "What about you?"

          "I'm thinking... Demon plants." He nods in thought. "I like the creepy dark ones." He admits sheepishly. 

          "I bet it'll turn out really cool." You grin. He smiles at that, cuddling his cheek on your head. 

          "I'll make sure it does." He hums. 

          Once back in the club room everyone huddled around the catalogs to see what kind of seeds they could get for their gardens. 

          "I'm going to do a rose garden." Oikawa claims happily.

          "I'll do an edible garden." Ushijima murmurs.

          "After seeing the Underwater greenhouse. I'd like to do a mermaid theme." Kiyoko smiles.

          "I liked the mushroom garden. Plus, if you get hybrids going they sell nicely." Daishou rumbles. 

          "Find anything yet ___?” Tendo asks you lightly since you were still going through.

          "The Celestial plants are really beautiful and I like the coloration…" You admit.

          "They're a bit difficult to grow. But I'm sure you can do it." Tashiro says thoughtfully. "Go ahead and fill out those orders, we'll get those seeds for you guys ASAP." 

          "Okay!"

          "Sounds boooring." Atsumu yawns as the twins walk you back home. "What do you even do while they're seeds?" 

          "Get the soil and stuff ready. It's like prepping a nursery for a baby." You point out. He makes a face at that. 

          "... Don't start calling plants your babies…" He sighs. 

          "I didn't. I was just comparing." You huff.

          "Don't mind him. He's just mad because he feels out of shape." Osamu shrugs.

          "Oi!" Atsumu snaps at him with a scowl.

          "Oh? Are you going to workout when you get home?" You ask him. "I can try making you a protein shake if it helps?" You offer. He pauses at that.

           "I'm going to start now so ya better bring me something soon!" He declares taking off ahead. 

           "He's so determined." You blink.

           "He's such an idiot." Osamu sighs.

           "I heard that Osamu! You jerk!" Came Atsumu's call. You and Osamu share a look before chuckling together.

           "So. Ready to talk?" He asks you lightly. You nod, peering about briefly.

           "I did the ceremony yesterday to find my attribute…" You start, rubbing your cheek.

           "None?" He guesses lightly. You frown and meet his gaze, he blinks, eyebrows raising slightly. "How many?"

           "Almost all of them." You admit, dropping your eyes to the sidewalk. Osamu whistles, looking ahead.

           "What two are you picking?" He inquires.

           "Well, I'm thinking light for one… I'm not sure about the other." You admit.

           "You should do water. It'll help with your gardening thing, and… Help me put out Atsumu's fire." He nods.

          "Yeah, your ice doesn't help with the mess well." You nod before smiling. "Light and water huh… I think I can work with that."
