Chapter 20

Tiny Point of View

I cannot believe the cousin in law I admire so much turned out to be an Allard.

An unregistered one; but an Allard nonetheless.

Who would've thought that the father of Allard sisters tried his luck with another woman before his marriage and got her pregnant, left her under her family's care and never turned back?

If it wasn't for my dear cousin, Caramel Mya Almond, who is my second granduncle's granddaughter, I wouldn't have know that my lovely cousin in law Injgo was actually an Allard, raised as a De Leon, by his foster parents.

It only came to light when Injgo told her a few days ago when he was a little drunk. Although it was clear that he doesn't like the Allard's parents and their family, the very fact that he is an Allard himself twisted my tongue to meow at him.

I told him I want to help him tell the Allard sisters of his existence but he denied saying he doesn't want anything to do with them. And so, he rejected my help.

Injgo and I are very close. He is like a bother and cousin to me and to say we love poking fun of each other is how I describe my relation with him.

We joke around each other and I really like making fun of him. He always has this weird style of presenting himself, like he was one of the pharaohs from Egypt.

In turn, whenever he comes, he makes sure to put an effort to either scare me or embarrass me in one way or the other.

Caution : All's for fun!

I need to close the deal with this Allard revenge chapter soon so I can go back to talking properly with Injgo. I can't be meowing at him for any longer and bear the consequences of made fun off when I cannot return back the favor.

Walking into my small office, I waved and smiled at my friends aka business partners before sitting for an important meeting with them.

"How were you able to get a contract from the Millard Pharmaceuticals? Can't believe we shall represent their investment quotients after signing the contract." Dante, our PR, spoke looking at me proudly.

I grinned at them, brushing back my hair from my shoulder arrogantly. Only at times like this do I get a chance to act arrogantly and I'm not intending to pass the chance.

After spending good enough time with Human sculpture, I've picked up a thing or two in that department.

"I always wanted to work with so I sent them an invitation to Zorion Nigel's birthday party few days ago."

"And they came?" Soul inquired doubtfully.

"Under the Zorion Nigel's name." I completed and saw the others nodding their head in understanding.

"I thought there were only family and close friends that night?" Soul asked, when she silently expressed the she did not see any outsiders that night.

"Oh, I told them that the party is freestyle bohemian themed so they came in the Millard couple came in their casuals, looking like just the ordinary traders. They enjoyed the party, had a simple conversation with me and then gifted me with a contract when I told them I'm a Goddess of investments."

The old Millard couple are such sweethearts. Unlike Allard's they did not look down on my skills. They spoke, verified, investigated and then gave me the chance.

Indeed, old people are the best; just like wine.

Continuing the small meeting for the next few minutes, we got a check mark from my cousin who is a lawyer and we signed and closed the deal.

With being the prime adviser for Millard groups, our small firm shall be a strongest one in the next few years.

Following, I spent some good time with myself because I love my company.

I went to the nearby mall for some window and door shopping. If I liked something and within reach, I bought it; only if is useful and I intend to use it for a long time.

Grandma doesn't like when we buy things on impulse and not use them.

Walking through the huge mall, whenever I see a mirror, I stop and look at myself and immediately a smile comes up on my face.

Just a mere glance at myself, I realize I fell for the image on the mirror yet again.

Whenever I talk to myself and listen to myself, I feel like no one can understand me better than I do. I just can't help but enjoy my own companionship.

"- you gone, ends the Smiths." I heard a harsh, emotionless voice from somewhere.

Don't tell me there are plays going on in malls? I was never informed of it by anyone seeing how we Almonds have a good foothold in several streams.

A couple steps ahead, to my right into the dark empty corner where security cameras are too lazy to turn and take a look at, a broody, huge, ruffled man stood with a gun in his hand a target of... maybe four year old boy.

You can't be serious! How can he threaten a child? And he thought mall to be a safe place to kill a child? Such a genius - with a Wikipedia of sarcasm.

Is he a man or just pretending to be one? I know because I saw a few men pretending to be man but not really man enough.

You, coward example of a rabid dog think you can harm the child under my watch?

I love myself and because I'm a person with justice as foundation pillar of my heart, that makes me admire myself more.

And I'm kind; I will help this boy no matter how or what.

See how I'll make you run for your own money which you will not have any soon.

"Lentil Ash Almond, what are you doing here with this –" I strode towards them angrily and looked at the gun guy clearly again, "-this F grade drama company rookie who seems to look like he knows only overacting?"

I heard a growl from the huge man and by god, he looks so much like a mural wall. Every inch of his skin is tattooed. I know because he is only wearing a cotton inner-wear vest.

Is sleeveless popular in boys too now?

The little boy, who has tears in his eyes, hugged my leg and started to hiccup.

See, even a little stranger can see my kind heart.

"Leave if you want to live. On other thoughts, I will end you too; less hassle for me." I scoffed at the daring man who is not a man anymore to my eyes.

"End me? The ending credits of my movie are far long later. Why the hell are you threatening my little nephew? Who are you to play water-gun with my nephew?" I demanded the answer.

He better answer when I demand because I hardly demand and when I do, I don't like it unanswered.

"Nephew?" The gun guy glowered at me before gritting his teeth and aiming his gun at me. "He is a smith."

"My little nephew is no Smith. He is an Almond; a proud Almond. Now get off, if I don't give him safely to my cousin and cousin in law, they will bury me alive." I said brushing away the gun pointed at me and picked the boy in my arms.

"Who exactly are you and why didn't do a good digging up before pointing a gun?" I grumbled as the little boy, whose name I still don't know, attached himself to me.

The gun man smiled evilly as he scratched his head with the gun, "Gangster." He whispered as it that will make me shiver in terror.

"No wonder you look dirty. When was it the last time you showered? I thought gangsters earn well? Can't you pay a little for water and shower?" Eyeing him from top to bottom, I can't help but see clear similarities between him and a –

Nah, it will be a insult if I compare him with anyone.

Gaping at me with anger, he pointed the gun back to me and by the time his greasy mouth smirked fully, a hoard of men came and took him down on his knees as they arrested him.

He was shouting, cursing out profanities and fighting back to get out from the policemen's grip but there are just too many holding him down.

"You should've been careful while handling this." I heard the intelligence worker of a cousin for whom the eldest Allard is smitten for. Devon Vin Almond, grumbled beside me.

"I still kept you on a call while going for it." I grinned as I handed him the boy.

My arms are already hurting.

"What's the story?" I asked, seeing the police drag the gangster out.

"Parents denied to sell a piece of land and angered the gang, they killed them and when realized the land has an heir, came to end the boy too. No extended family, so currently the boy is under government's care. He will be sent to the foster home soon." Devon informed me briefly.

"Don't bother. I know someone who can adopt him and take best care of him." I said pulling out a lollipop from the bag and gave it to the little boy.

"Who?" Devon raised a brow.

"Caramel and Injgo. They are having hard time conceive a baby after her sudden miscarriage a year ago. Also, we Almonds can have another member in the family if Caramel doesn't."

I said knowing too well that Caramel and Injgo will love to adopt this little boy.

But then, I need to close this revenge chapter with Allard so I can talk in English with Injgo again.

Why do I feel like the respect I have on me increased tenfold after today's fiasco?
