Chapter 22
Tiny Point of View
My crush was crushed!
It has been a week since I last saw Human sculpture and to say I both missed him and did not miss him at the same time is an understatement.
Now looking straight into his eyes after a week of not meeting him, I didn't know what to expect from him. He did not try to see me or explain things to me in these past seven days.
"Okay, I'm Zorion Nigel Allard." He rasped out trying to gain my attention. I continued to look the other way, not giving him my attention.
Yeah, I came to know you were, in Allard's office last week.
Here I thought I would go to Human sculpture and narrate my courageous act of sending a criminal behind bars and show him how kind and brave I was; there I found out from Non King that he might've gone to Allard's office for some kind of deal.
Then what did I find?
Human sculpture is actually Human sculpture Allard!
Ilaria and Anete Allard's own blood brother and a part of triplet set.
Am I angry because he is an Allard? Heck no!
I'm huffing here because I went to him to seek my revenge on his own sisters and he didn't even clarify his status with them. Knowing he is an Allard, I can't even talk to him because all that comes out of my mouth is meow meow.
"Talk to me. I want to talk to you regarding something important." He tried again but I don't want to talk to him.
"Meow. Tiny, Miss Almond; this is important. Please." He pleaded softly making me turn a little towards and glance at him.
When he saw me looking at him, he sighed in relief and smiled at me which I did not return back. "I know you are angry at me. I'll do everything to pacify your anger, only I need your help in approaching Injgo first. We tried contacting through mails, phone calls but he doesn't want to do anything with us."
I looked around the park we are currently in making no attempt in talking to him back.
"Tiny!" He sighed attempting to get me talk again.
"Meow meeoww meow. Meoww meoooww, meow meoww moeeww?" I mumbled quietly, enough for him to hear.
I made it clear to him about Injgo, now it's up to him what he wants to do. Saying what I need to say, I got up from the bench and walked away from him.
He caught up quickly and held my arm to stop me from walking away. Turning me towards him, I still had my face turned towards the other side making sure I don't look at him.
"I didn't understand what you said back there but – I think we need to clear air between us. I just wanted to start my own business from scratch without Allard name attached to mine so no one knows the Allard family having a son. It's not just you. I liked the idea of staying hidden from public and run the company from behind the curtains so I just went for it with my sisters' help."
I nodded my head telling him I understood and took a couple steps away from him. He noticed that frowned but did not say anything.
"When you came to me for help that is the reason I did not accept but then you persisted so I thought why not use your smart ideas to take down our business rival Benjamin. On my defense, Benjamin is a complete pest. Thanks to your clever ideas, his business went down and he is out of the corporate world once and for all."
I just listened to him and did not reply again. His frown deepened as he took a few seconds to; maybe, contemplate what more to say to me.
"Let's do this. I will make you Allards' investments advisor and correct the mistake Ilaria and Anete did. Then we can go back to talking freely with each other." I kept mum.
Suddenly, I don't want to take any revenge on Allards'. Not because I liked one of them, no, because I don't want to talk to him.
Lifetime of meowing with him to make him go crazy sounds wonderful. Since he doesn't completely understand my language; perfect way to show my anger.
Hearing him say what all he wanted to, I silently went back home without giving him any reply.
Over next few days, he tried to meet me and talk to me but I successfully avoided any interactions with him.
In the meanwhile, the little boy I saved got lucky as Caramel and Injgo were happy to adopt him. They sorted out all documents and by the end of this month; they will be able to become a family.
Injgo, although had a good experience in foster home, still knew what it means to have an own family. So, instead of providing a foster guardianship to the little boy, he preferred giving him his family name.
"You people are exaggerating everything." I heard grandma speak in her shaky firm voice.
I smiled at her as I saw the whole Almond street being decorated for the most awaited ceremony; Grandma's hundredth birthday.
In two days, on Friday, is grandma's hundredth birthday and we have been busy in planning it. Everyone of us are making our best efforts to give a great birthday blast for grandma because not everyone reach hundred and still breath breathe these days.
"Where are grandma's health reports?" Bosc asked as he kept searching for them in drawers. "I've been searching for them from four hours."
"I have a soft copy of them, Bosc. We can just take another print out." I said waving my phone in front of him.
We have a tradition in our family. We get full body checkup before birthday and shall burn the reports on the day of the birthday.
We believe it will give us a long life. That is one of the reasons many of the Almost lived hundred or over. It's only my grandpa that took a train to heaven in a hurry otherwise, most of my ancestors I knew lived a very long life.
My other granduncles kicked the bucket when they were hundred and two and hundred and fifteen.
I forwarded a copy of grandma's health reports to Bosc and asked him to take out a print on the D-day. Looking over the reports, my grandma is as healthy as a horse can be.
She has no lung problems. Her liver is brimming with life. Her blood has just enough thickness and flow. Her heart has the best function that doctors had ever seen in their life.
She has no limbs problems other that a little pain in legs every now and then that was caused by aging.
Even her skin is not too loose and wrinkly.
Even the doctors went pale when they saw a perfect health report of a near hundred year old woman. They thought grandma is like Goddess of health to medical industry.
"Did you send out invitation for Fourteenth's boyfriend?" She asked Quince, who was busy addressing second batch of invitations.
"She is not talking to him." Quince answered.
I told my family what happened and they did not comment on it. They said I am old enough to consider every aspect and take the right decision.
"Did you give up on him?" I shook my head immediately making grandma smile widely.
I'm angry with him, yes; but that doesn't mean I gave up on him. He is the Human sculpture I love and if he did a mistake, I rather teach him and put him in right place than turn my back.
That would be a betrayal to my feelings if I did that.
"Alright we will invite him and you continue to give him silent treatment. Trust me, now it's time he understands his mistake, look into his own heart and realize his feelings." It was grandma's idea that I give him silent treatment.
She said that man, as person is not bad but he was just raised on a wrong note. Since I felt disappointed when I knew he was an Allard and how I got hurt when the truth is revealed; she advised I use my anger to set him on the right pitch.
I first wanted to meow my anger out but she told me otherwise.
"Invite him with his sisters; Injgo has always been a matured one. He needs to put his prejudice aside and have a good talk with the triplets." Ah, she the sweet grandma I know.
People always said I inherited my grandma's kind heart, now I think our hearts are indeed alike.
"Meow mmeeow moew meoww moeoww."
"What is she saying Quince?" Grandma asked Quince for translation.
"She is asking how she should behave around him apart from keeping silence."
"Hmm, that boy needs a good head smack into realizing his feelings for you and expressing his love for you. It's time you stop chasing him and let him chase you."
"Should we make him jealous grandma?" Quince suggested.
"That will be a classic move with higher success rate but let's make things spicier. The Almond style."
"Meow meow?" Spicier? Almond style?
How?
"Interesting. How shall we do that?" Grandma looked at Quince and gave him a full blown smile before telling us her plan.
"What we need is not another man for Tiny but we need another woman for Zorion."
Another woman for Human sculpture?
How will that help reduce my anger on him and increase his love for me?
