Chapter 36
Tiny Point of View
"I can't believe I'm getting married." I danced to maddening music that wasn't there at all.
Paronella park is great. Especially for weddings.
The trees, the gardens, the waterfalls, everything is so in tune producing positive energy and passing on to those who are starting a new life its womb.
Absolute wondrous!
We've been here for a week now and it's been one of best weeks of my life. The pre-wedding rituals are absolutely a blast.
Except, the blast has different definitions for each of us.
Four weddings at the same time and same place; joint weddings; implied that confusion, excitement and madness is needed and a must package.
Every single thing led to one disorder or the other. It was one exciting blast of roller coaster ride the past week for me while to others, it is just exhausting.
"Is my pin in place? Isn't it sticking out of my hair?" Aella forcefully pushed the pin into her chignon before we could answer her and as a result hissed in pain when the pin dug her scalp.
"Ma'am, please; the pin is just in the right place. Do not move it." The hairdresser managed to get Aella's hair neatly tugged back into a nice chignon again as she assured Aella of how beautifully styled her hair is.
"I have a severe headache. I drank too much last night and look at the result; I look like a living dead on my wedding day. Just great." Soul exasperated in her robotic voice making Anete chuckle.
"You won't call them dark circles if you've seen mine. I cemented mine with God knows what."
"You know, I was thinking why the hell am I even getting married and then I answered myself that Quince is a pup that needs me as his leash."
"My cousin is a humble, kind and a soft natured man, Soul." Aella and I said unison causing Soul to frown at us.
"I'm going to be a leash for those exact same things. A balance, you see." Ah, point taken.
"What about boys? Are they ready yet or are they busy getting their makeup on?" Anete asked causing us to laugh out loud enough for the tears to come out.
Although there were many mishaps all through the past week, the first big confusion took place on the day of makeover ritual.
We've booked the whole spa and their services for bridal makeover and pampering. With a beautiful huge family, somehow a confusion between us and the staff arose due to miscommunication and guess what happened!
The Bridal makeover has turned to Groom's makeover day.
The four grooms who were enjoying their day swimming away were pulled out and rushed to the spa. A couple hours later, when we, brides, went to the floor to get our services, we came face to face with four familiar men lounging on the spa chairs with face packs on their faces, getting their hair treatment, pedicure and manicure simultaneously.
Behind us in the large spa hall, are other men from our families who were getting massages and other services that were meant for brides and other ladies of the troupe.
"Although it has been a fun day with lot of laughter, aish, we did not even have a proper spa day." Anete sighed, pulled her cheek to measure the smoothness of her non-pampered skin.
"Did you see the guys last night; they are glowing like a woman at the prime of her pregnancy. King even got his hair styled like those on the fashion magazine cover page." Soul commented with a glare at none in particular.
"But Non-King's hair wasn't that long to have it styled like that. He doesn't have a bald but he always had hair of three to four millimetres. He definitely got a transplant." I banged my hand on the door beside me to state the heaviness of my point.
One cannot have a head full of hair in one evening without pasting them there.
"That's obvious to say." They nodded in unison.
I looked at myself in the mirror and turned a little to see myself as a bride again. I look, hands down, the most gorgeous of the four. The long frill of the white gown with pelts of blue feathers patterned in a wavy design accentuated my body like I were a goddess of water.
My long hair was flowing in my back with silver butterflies hanging all the way down making it look like the butterflies have nested themselves in my hair.
Makeup is light but accentuate with highlights naturally. My face look rosy and healthy giving out a natural glow, enough to blind the people who look at me.
Picking up the veil that isn't pinned on my head yet, I turned to the others to see them done and ready. In the past three hours of us getting decked up, Ilaria, my other female cousins and cousin in laws, mamma, aunts and grandma has come to rush us several times.
"Alright babies, ten minutes to go. Drink the juice and put on your veils, your fathers, brothers are on their way to lead you through the aisle." Bosc's wife gave us each a large glass of juice saying how we need the energy to get through the tiring day.
Wordlessly, we gulped down the whole glass of juice as I felt energy rushing into my body. The exhaustion from sitting there and getting made up was washed away by the miracle juice.
"And sisters." Anete added. "Ilaria is going to walk me down the aisle as Zorion would be on the platform waiting for his own bride."
"Ilaria? No –" My cousin in law was cut off by a hard knock on the door and loud male voices asking us if we are ready to go and blast the whole ceremony.
Our veils were pinned on, blocking any view from the front. The veil was not a netted one but a whole cloth that was sewed and designed to perfection. We fell in love with it when we first saw and got the exact same thing for the four of us.
"The announcements are being made. Time to run along." The bells are heard the next moment and we all hurried out not to miss the auspicious time to get married.
"Why are you all looking nervous?" I asked as we were rushing out of the room towards our parent escorts.
"It's our wedding. Of course it calls for some anxiety!" Aella answered breathing heavily.
"But I don't feel any." I really don't feel any nervousness. I'm excited and happy but not nervous.
The event is set. The wedding will happen even If we are invaded by aliens on Titanic.
Soon, faltered and bumped, we finally held our male escort arms, in my case, it's my papa.
The orchestra is playing in tune with the whishing of wind, the pitter patter of the waterfalls and the tipper tapper of the leaves.
It was so beautifully musical that I even tapped my leg as I walked.
The aisle was a long path accompanied by several guests sitting on either side. Since I couldn't see what is in the front of me, my eyes turned to the side and glanced at guests from under the veil.
On the left is long line of my family, friends and acquaintances. On the right are esteemed high profiles guest of Allards', some guests of Non-Kings and several from Soul's side. On the back is where the media is, to take tapes and photos of weddings of the millennium.
Amidst music and loud slaps, it took us five minutes to walk all through the aisle. When we finally reached the platform, the music ended with a loud bang. My gloved hand is soon placed into another male's hand by my papa.
A smile immediately took over my already smiling face. Damn the excitement and adrenalin rush.
If only I could take this veil off and kiss him soundly.
"You look beautiful." I heard a very familiar voice and my smile widened.
"Thanks Quincy." I replied.
"Quincy?"
"Tiny?" Exactly one second later, we both screeched out loudly. Not even two seconds passed, I heard similar screeches from behind me.
I slowly moved cloth blocking my view and there in front of me stood Quince Almond, my cousin, looking dashing in his tux.
"You look handsome too, cousin." I complimented back. "But you are in a wrong place."
"No, you came to a wrong place. Your groom is several stops away from here." I moved the veil a little more and was about to scan the whole dais to find Human sculpture when my grandma's loud voice warned us not to remove our veils no matter what.
So the veils still in place, I, along with other brides, scrambled all through the way to find a way towards our destination respectively.
"Human sculpture, where are you?" I shouted loudly, to be heard among the noise.
"Cacao, Sir mine, I'm coming for you. I can smell the chocolate on you from here." Anete bumped into me on her way to my other cousin.
"Aella love, which of these are you? Why the hell do all the dresses look same despite being them different?"
"Quince! You better find me first." The wedding dais in frenzy with the fleeing, shouting and running brides and grooms.
There's a small gap on the long dais between each platform. Skipping over one platform, I heard him saying 'Here here, here.'
"Where is 'here'?" My leg caught on my dress and was about to fall when I was caught by arms that definitely belongs to a man.
"Finally!" I exclaimed.
"Not really cat girl. Get off, your groom another stop away to the last." Non-King steadied me and patted my back into sending me away.
"Argh!" I heard Aella scream. "Mr. Nigel, you are wed my cousin. Not me."
"Anete, stay where you are, I'm coming for you, baby."
"Human Sculpture! Did you see me yet?"
"No. Which of these are you?" He called back from a far.
Why is it so hard to look for me? I'm the most gorgeous of the four.
Can't he see that?
The one beaming like spring sun is me!
"The auspicious time is here, Brides, please find your respective grooms. Fast."
But the question is, when is that?
