Chapter 37

Zorion Point of View

"The Chaotic and interesting weddings of the decade. The misplaced brides, the searching grooms, the panicking elders, the amused guests and the perplexed officiant! As expected from the famous Almond family weddings. Dear viewers, you –"

The rest of the live commentary from media did not go through my brain as I was pretty busy searching for the woman who should be kissing 'I do' by now.

I can't believe my wedding, my own wedding which happens only once in lifetime, if everything works out that is, has now become a mess of confusion.

Brides are not allowed to take down their veils before taking the vows, we, grooms, don't know who is who in those long gowns and bulletproof veils they are wearing.

How are we to meet the one if this goes on?

But then again, this isn't even the first mess that happened. From the day the pre-wedding rituals started, every minute is a heck of galaxy of disorder.

Whoever thought real life drama doesn't exist!

I have been looking at one from few months; only, I'm the main lead in my story.

I looked at the long, wide, spacious dais where the four couples are platformed far apart from each other with different decoration to each. The wedding minister has been warning us about the auspicious time standing right on our head but all the brides are running around like headless chickens not paying any attention to him.

Five minutes passed and the mess is only getting louder so having enough of it, I pulled the mic from the minister beside me and cleared my throat. "Enough everyone. Stop right there." I yelled over top of my lungs in the mic that resonated it even louder and stronger.

And rightly, everyone did stop. Went still; thankfully.

"Now, since we are not to lift that veil up, I say the name and you raise your hand so your partner can come to you. Am I understood?" Several heads nodded quietly.

"Better. Soul, raise your hand for Quince." And soon a hand shot up with force like a feminist from suffrage movement.

Quince sighed in relief and soon hugged his girl, taking her back to their own platform.

"Right. Aella, your turn."

"No need. I know my Aella." Came response from my best friend who was giving me a sadistic smirk.

"Good, because the one's hand you are holding is my sister Anete. Look there," Gasping like a fish out of water; he left my sister's hand like he is infected by a deadly disease and went to the girl who raised her hand for recognition.

Some 'know' he knows. Prickly brat dropped from Maggott's snot.

"That's your sign Sir Cacao. Go take your lady." I said to the person who was already beside my sister, previously arguing with King that the girl he was holding was his Anete actually.

Once the three couples settled and confirmed that they are indeed in the right place with the right person, I told Meow to wait for me where she is, who by the way, was having one leg on one platform and the other on another trying to jump it over.

Typical cat on the wall!

I walked to her and scooped her in my arms assuring her that it was me while returning to our assigned place. She gave me an excited chuckle before wrapping her arms around my neck.

Okay... I thought she would go on and on about how exciting the events went on!

Seems like wedding jitters are healthy sign on her.

"You look beautiful; however you look behind this but you do look beautiful and shining." My compliment was answered by the minister, unexpectedly.

"Ahem – uhm – now that everyone found their other half, let's proceed with the ceremony. The guest, please take your seats."

"Family, friends, acquaintances and the media folks, in the presence of God we are here to share the celebration of these four lovely couples. Despite the different experiences you each share, we are all here for one common reason; to support these four lovely couples and push them off into a happy matrimonial web." As the speech went by, everyone settled down, including the media folks who were recording everything in silence.

A little more the speech later, the minister finally got to the main point. "Before God, your friends, and your families, I ask you to affirm your willingness to enter the covenant of marriage and to share all the joys and sorrows of your lives and your relationship, whatever the future may hold. Quince Grey Almond, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"I do" Quince said with a pleasant smile.

"Very well. Soul Silver Macquoid, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"I do."

"King King, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"Yahoo, I do." My best friend hollered.

"Aella Butter Almond, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"I do." Spoke in a soft tone.

"Sir Cacao Ned Almond, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"Of course, I do."

"Anete Zeta Allard, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"Oh yes, I do."

"Zorion Nigel Allard, do you take this woman to be your wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?" Finally my turn.

Okay, Zorion. Let's get this over with.

"I do." I said without any hesitation.

I was a little hesitant when I offered for the marriage but over the past few days, however chaotic it was, made me realize how precious it would be.

Made me realize it's worth a shot.

"Tiny –" The Minister looked at Meow with in disbelief which is definitely because of her name. "Ahem – Tiny Dew Almond, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"I – Meow meow." Again, I found the fast turning of my head was fast enough to be found somewhere in the next city.

She meowed? Again?

Looking down at her, I couldn't help feel exhausted at her timely meows while on the other side, the media is in frenzy; again.

No wonder they are having the blast of their careers with one such wedding broadcasts.

"Repeat after me – I'm sorry?" The minister must've processed what he heard in the place 'I do' that he had to stop himself from proceeding further. His eyes went wide and so does everything in him.

"Meoww meow." Why? Why is she meowing suddenly?

Now of all times?

Something happened?

"Oh no, this is all my fault." I heard Anete mumble loud enough for us to hear clearly.

"Anete Allard, you goat. Which help of hers did you not accept again?" I almost prowled to her in anger.

I was already aroused for the upcoming wedding night and look where my own sister got me.

"She – I – While running about and crossing the platforms, she said she would help me find her cousin and get us to say 'I do' which I politely declined saying I was already there." She gave me a guilty smile.

Perfect!

So f**king perfect!

"In my defense, I didn't know she would take it seriously. It was just a passing reply."

"Didn't know? She has a condition! You know, condition!" I gritted out turning my anger towards the actual source. "And you, why did you offer help when you need one yourself?"

"Meeoww meoww meow meoww meow –"

"Alright. Stop there." I sighed loudly to calm myself.

I'm not angry. I'm not going to kill anyone. I love this woman and her my sister. You cannot kill either of them, Zorion.

Calm you tits down to your balls.

"Let's proceed sir." I turned to the minister and gave him a nod.

"Uh, wonderful. Tiny Dew Almond, do you take this man to be your husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"Meeow meow." Oh man, she cannot say the words you are looking for. Go with the rings exchange.

"Uhm, is that yes or no? I mean she... she -" I can't blame him for asking.

If it wasn't for her love for me, I would've not understood her meows too.

"Yes. It's a yes. She loves me." I confirmed him ferociously and turned to Meow, "Meow at him with a nod if it's a yes, Meow."

"Meow meow meow meow." I don't know what she said but she said it with a nod and thankfully the minister took it as a sign of positive confirmation.

"Ring please." Minister announced, giving Meow weird glances every now and then. He looked drained himself.

No offence, it not every day you meet a girl like her. I can totally understand him.

The problem is, the person I should be understanding, still has a language that I cannot understand and I'm still glad to spend life with her in future.

"Now, brides and grooms, repeat after me as you exchange the rings."

Oh no! No repeating please!
