Chapter 6
Tiny Point of View
Eyes locked.
Mine to his.
Hot to ice.
Bright to dull.
Happy to anger.
I knew this nut is hard to crack. A week ago when he was raided and warned by several of my cousins and he asked me to meet him to discuss about the situation, he refused to help me yet again.
"You think your silly tricks will overpower me? I called you here to warn you against me. Don't make me take you seriously." He warned me yet again glaring down at me with ice shards.
That made my crush on him stronger. That arrogant refusal of his is icy hot and blazing cold.
But that also got him under my radar and I decided to have him and only him as my helper.
Now, a week later, yet again sitting opposite to each other, with Quince and Soul beside me and Non-King beside him.
The past week I tried my best in shaking the roots of his business. I first put on a post in my blog about how low grade the food and drinks in his hotels are. Then I made sure to mention the service of his hotels is not good.
I wouldn't say my blog is famous or I have many audience but no matter how less my audience are, they are loyal to me; enough to retweet my post and make a big issue out of it.
"I heard you went to police, Human Sculpture?" I asked with a smile. "For restraining order against me."
He is one interesting person. He thought police or lawyer can help him when I do everything with solid proofs.
And his arrogance, his ego; I'm so fascinated by them.
If there is something I want to have in my future boyfriend or husband, then it is not a soft heart but a cold heart and a ton of arrogance.
They bring life in my life and colors in my color.
"Of course, how innocent I am! I didn't know I would meet another Almond there, that too the head of city police."
At the mention, I and Quince smiled softly at each other and Soul nodded approvingly.
"Yes, she is my fourth cousin, Brandy Bun Almond. She is eldest of our female cousins so you can say she is quite tough with us. But she loves all of us to bits. She recently got married too." I announced.
Brandy is an awesome sister to all our girl cousins. She is an icon of bravery to us and we always felt safe with her around.
Both Non-King and Human sculpture scowled deeply as invisible smoke came out of their nose and ears.
"We did come to know that later. Apparently, the lawyer with highest winning rate we approached is her husband and he advised us just to help you. So I approached my own company legal team and guess what?"
My eldest brother in law is the sweetest person I ever knew. He was always the funniest guy. He always buys snacks for us and also participates in the pajama nights with my cousin Brandy, telling us horror stories.
He makes the whole evening hilarious!
Then I understood why Brandy chased after him first.
"One of the members of the legal team is your Almond aunt's husband. I contacted a legal team from Canada and in it we have grandson of your youngest grandpa, who apparently is your faraway cousin but close enough to reject my offer against you. Again!"
Youngest grandpa's grandson? Ah -!
"Ah, right. You are talking about Clove, Clove Wes Almond! He is a little faraway cousin but he is still family. He wouldn't go against Almonds even if you threaten to put cyanide in his drink." Clove is an ambitious far cousin of mine.
We do meet the faraway cousins every now and then as it is our family motto that family should be together and family is our first priority.
"Why do you want a restraining order against me when you can help me with my revenge? Are you looking down on me because I'm just a petty little poor girl with no significance in the society?" I asked pouting.
He can't be thinking of me as a poor little girl!
I'm smart and perfect and perseverant.
"Looking down on you?" Human Sculpture gasped in incredulity.
He closed his eyes and meditated for a few minutes and we, as his polite guests, gave him some time to think again.
"So, help me." I asked again what I asked a week ago and this time, he gave me a much better expression.
Scanning me all over for a few minutes silently, his eyes are colluding with his mind, making some calculations.
"Tell me about all the Almonds and then I will give it a fair thought." He asked and suddenly Non-King eyes widened as sudden thought crossed his mind.
"Wait, who is Olive Honey Almond?" Non-King asked as he gaped down at us.
Olive?
How does he know Olive?
"Olive? Olive is my niece. You know my cousin Bosc, the trainer right; Olive is his daughter. How do you know her?" Did they check my family's background?
But why would they spend such huge money on Almond family? Our family is huge. Like, really huge.
He should've asked me and I would divulge the information.
"Because we received a hand written letter from her from the school I own. She was politely requesting Zorion to help her little fourteenth aunt so the family can be happy. They cannot see how sad you are, it seems." Aww!
My little Olive did that?
"Did you hear that Quince? Bosc filled his daughter with Almond morals. Look at our little niece acting matured." I turned to Quince and shook him in joy.
Now, that the Almond-ness we have.
We stick together and sneak together.
My reaction should've enlightened them somehow that Human sculpture and his friend shook their head as they rubbed their head in unison.
"Now that even our Olive asked you, you will help me then?" I asked expectantly to which Human sculpture asked me to tell me about my family first so he will know when, where and whom to avoid.
"Umm, why don't I introduce them to you in person?"
"You want us, the great billionaire businessman, to go house to house with you to get introduced?" Non-King frowned with a scoff.
"Mr. King, we Almonds live together. Heard of Grizzly Corner Street in the south, that's the Almond street and we all live together there." Quince answered it for me and I nodded energetically to confirm.
"You all live together? How? Why?"
"Our grandpa was an old minded person who believed in unity and togetherness. He always insisted that our family should stick together. So all his kids and their kids accepted his views duly and complied." Quince answered with a respected bow to our late grandpa.
Non-King nodded his head wordlessly as some kind of amazement passed through his eyes. While the conversation is still going on, Aella got in with a huge tray of refreshments for us and I asked her to join the talk as she is an Almond too.
"Come with me Human sculpture and Non-King and I will introduce my family to you."
"What if I disagree? What if I say I won't help you?"
"Then I will continue to persuade you to help me and so does my family. For one, we Almonds love each other blindly."
"I can see that." Human sculpture sighed as we all fell in silence for a few minutes.
"Let's get into a contract then." He finally spoke after pondering by himself.
"Contract?" I and Quince raised a brow of our own at him.
"Yes. If I were to help you with your revenge, then I will do it by my own equation." He said as he leaned forward, looking dead into my eyes.
I, Quince, Aella and Soul exchanged glanced. Aella took us to the corner of the room to whisper by ourselves about it.
"He is a sly man when he is dealing with contracts, Tiny. You have to think hundred times before going for it." Aella suggested.
"I think he is trying to find a common ground between you both by this contract." Soul expressed.
"I say, you consider all the angles before going for it." Quince said with a nod.
Nodding to myself, we returned back. "Tell me your conditions then." I probed him to know what exactly he is thinking.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" I nodded in confirmation.
"My first condition – You will do as I say if I'm to help you." He put forth and I nodded.
Of course, since he knows better about his competitors.
"My first condition," I started with a smile. "Although the plot will be yours, we will go by my concept."
Hearing me, his eyes turned into slits as he eyes shot several glares at me again.
"Isn't that just another way to counter my condition? I will not do it if you cheat." He gritted just as Aella went out of the room and came inside with a small package.
"Sir, you got a package from- Cinnamon Roe Almond?" Aella wondered out as she handed the package to Human sculpture.
Human sculpture inhaled loudly and opened the package wordlessly and found a bunch of different chocolates and a small greeting card with a message saying 'Help my fourteenth aunt please' and a cute smiley beside it.
Smiling brightly, I looked up at the blazing eyes of Human sculpture and said, "Cinnamon is my fifth cousin's son."
