Aurelia walks out of her room and downstairs to grab some breakfast. Jenna looks at her "I heard you up early this morning"

Aurelia smiles at her "Yeah I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so I did what I always do when I can't sleep which is draw and before I knew it was time to get up"

Jenna nods "What was it this time?"

Aurelia can't help but smile slightly "A dream.... it was super vivid almost like a lucid dream and I just woke up from it and could go back to sleep"

Jenna smiles at her niece "What did you end up drawing?"

Aurelia once again can't help but smile "The guy that was in my dream"

Jenna laughs as they hear a car horn and Aurelia nods at her aunt "That would be my ride" She runs back up the stairs to grab her school bags.

Aurelia walks outside and smiles seeing her other best friend Tyler out front, she was supposed to get a ride from Caroline this morning but she hasn't heard from her since last night so Aurelia called Tyler and said she needed a ride.

She gets into his car "Thanks for the ride, Ty... I don't know what's going on but Care was supposed to pick me up but I haven't heard from her all morning, I called and texted her but she hasn't answered"

He nods over at her "It's alright El, I don't mind giving you a ride you are one of my best friends"

Aurelia grins "I know but still, I appreciate it, you didn't have to go out of your way just to give me a ride but you did so thank you"

He chuckles "You're welcome El."

The rest of the ride is filled with music and laughter. Tyler and Aurelia have always been close and that is due to the unknown fact that they are half-siblings but neither of them knows about it there are only three people who know well that would be two people now that know Aurelia is a Lockwood, Richard Lockwood, Jenna Sommers, and Miranda Sommers-Gilbert.

They pull up to the school and Tyler looks at her "Let me know if you need a ride home?"

Aurelia smiles "Will do Ty and thanks again... I need to go and find Caroline, see what was up with her this morning"

She gets out of the car and grabs her bags making her way into the school once again calling Caroline, but she once again doesn't get an answer. She runs into Bonnie on her way in "Hey Aurelia, have you seen Caroline?"

Aurelia shakes her head "No I haven't... haven't talked to her since yesterday either she isn't picking up"

Bonnie nods "I know it's weird she always picks up and she usually drives you"

Aurelia laughs "Yeah I know but since she wasn't picking up I called Tyler and he gave me a ride this morning"

"I figured since you're her best friend you might know." Everyone in town knew that Caroline and Aurelia were each other's person.

Aurelia shrugs "Sorry"

Bonnie smiles "It's alright, I'll see you at practice?"

Aurelia nods "I'll see you then"

Aurelia continues walking into the school.

By history, Aurelia still hasn't heard from Caroline and it was starting to worry her because that is unusual.

Aurelia takes her seat in history trying to focus on what's being taught.

Tanner looks around the room "World War II ended in...Anyone got anything? Miss Juan? 1945. Pearl Harbor?"

He looks at Elena "Miss Gilbert?"

But she isn't paying attention "Hmm?"

He repeats what he said "Pearl Harbor?"

But she doesn't know the answer "Um..."

Aurelia smirks anytime she can show off and upstage Mr. Tanner in the process is a good day for her "December 7, 1941."

He turns to Aurelia "Thank you, Miss Gilbert, even though I was asking your sister"

Aurelia is still smirking at him "Anytime Mr. T anytime I can get on your nerves well that can't be a bad time"

He narrows his eyes at her "The fall of the Berlin Wall."

Aurelia grins "1989. You seem to have forgotten that I have aced every single test you've ever given us"

"Keep it to the year." Mr. Tanner said still looking at Aurelia, "Civil Rights Act."

Aurelia smirks at him "1964."

"John F. Kennedy assassination."

Aurelia crosses her arms over her chest the smirk not leaving her face "1963."

"Martin Luther King."

"1968."

"Lincoln."

"1865."

Mr. Tanner starts walking toward Aurelia "Roe vs. Wade."

She doesn't miss a beat the smirk still present on her face "1973."

"Brown vs. Board."

"1954."

"The Battle of Gettysburg."

"1863."

"Korean War."

"1950 to 1953."

Tanner grins widely at her "Ha! It ended in '52."

Then he turns to walk back to his desk but Aurelia just smirks wider "Actually, sir, it was '53."

He turns back around toward her noticing the smirk on her face he looks at the rest of the class "Look it up, somebody. Quickly."

Then some student looks it up "It was 19...53."

Aurelia smirks triumphantly as Mr. Tanner stalks back to his desk highly annoyed to have once again been outdone by a student and the class cheers, Elena smiles over at her sister and mouths 'Thank you'

Aurelia grins at her and mouths 'no problem' back.

The bell rings and Stefan and Elena walk up beside Aurelia, Stefan looks at her "How did you know all that?"

Aurelia smirks "I love history, it's always fascinated me, so I've seen pretty much all of the historical documentaries"

He nods at her "I see"

Aurelia walks out dressed in her practice clothes noticing that Elena is actually there today she smiles and walks over to Bonnie and Elena hearing Bonnie reply to whatever her sister said before "Tonight's no good. Have you seen Caroline? I texted her like a hundred times."

Elena looks at Bonnie "Don't change the subject, Bonnie Bennett! You're going to be there."

Aurelia cuts in "She's still not here? I've texted her a bunch too and what's happening that Bonnie is going to?"

Elena turns to her sister "Dinner tonight at our place with Stefan"

Bonnie sighs "Fine. I'll go."

Aurelia wraps an arm around her shoulders "It's okay Bon, I'll be there so you aren't alone with them" Bonnie smiles at her.

Elena nods "Good."

Bonnie looks at Aurelia and Elena "Seriously, where is Caroline?"

Aurelia shakes her head "I don't know but if she isn't here in the next five minutes as co-captain I'm starting practice without her"

Elena shakes her head "I don't know. It's not like her."

Bonnie looks at the two "I'll try her again."

Bonnie goes to call her again when a blue Camaro pulls up music blaring. Aurelia smirked noticing her blonde best friend in the passenger seat and then she leaned over and kissed the driver 'Well that must be her mystery guy'

Bonnie hangs up noticing Caroline "That must be her mystery guy from the grill"

Elena looks at them "That's not a mystery guy. That's Damon Salvatore."

Bonnie looks surprised at that information, "Salvatore, as in Stefan?!"

Aurelia smirks "If you were paying attention to what he said the other night he never denied having a sibling he just said they didn't talk"

Caroline comes over to them looking at Elena "I got the other brother. Hope you don't mind."

The first thing Aurelia notices is the scarf her blonde best friend is wearing and she eyes it warily. Caroline stands up in front of the group "Sorry I'm late, girls. I, uh, was busy. All right, let's start with the double pike herkey hurdler what do you say?"

The girls all get into their places Aurelia takes her place in the front, and the music starts "And 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8." Aurelia easily slipped into the routine. she spent plenty of nights at Caroline's house over the summer and where Aurelia is co-captain she helped Caroline plan the routines so, of course, she got right into it.

"Elena, sweetie," Caroline stated noticing that the elder Gilbert wasn't keeping up "Why don't you just observe today? Ok?"

Elena sighed going to the back of the group. She smiled seeing the look on her little sister's face at least one of them was enjoying themselves.

"Keep going! Ok. Do it again from the top. And 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8."

After practice, Aurelia walked up to Caroline "I almost started practice without you and you completely missed the way I beautifully humiliated Mr. Tanner in class today"

The blonde smiled at her "Oh I hate I missed that but I met my mystery guy last night, his name is Damon Salvatore, he's Stefan's older brother"

Aurelia grins at her "I figured he was your mystery guy" Then she walks over to her bag pulling out her sketchbook "I had another dream last night" She shows the sketch to Caroline "I woke up at 3 am this morning and I couldn't go back to sleep so that was the result"

Caroline grins at her "Wow El you were right about his eyes they are gorgeous"

The brunette grins "Ugh the shading doesn't do them justice, I couldn't get the exact shade right and the next thing I know it's 6 am." she slips the book back into her bag

The blonde grins even wider "So dream guy what's his name?"

Aurelia smiles slightly "Kai"

Caroline smirks "ohhh Kai that's such a bad boy name"

Aurelia rolls her eyes "Whatever Care.... is Damon picking you up?"

She nods "Yeah."

Aurelia laughs "I'm gonna go and see if I can catch Ty then, Elena's doing dinner with Stefan and Bonnie tonight and I kinda promised I'd be there"

Caroline waves "Okay, bye El"

She catches him coming out of the locker room "Hey"

Tyler laughs "You need a ride?"

She nods "Yeah Care's new boyfriend is picking her up... so I'm not third-wheeling that"

Tyler laughs again "Alright then come on"

He drops her off in front of her house and smiles "Thanks again Ty"

He smiles back "Don't worry about it El"

Then she walks into the house and notices Bonnie and Elena in the kitchen "Hey guys I'm gonna go shower and then I'll be right down to finish helping get things ready"

Elena nods and calls after her "Thanks sis" Aurelia jogs up the stairs and to her room she tosses her bags onto her bed and then walks into her bathroom to take a shower.

She finishes and gets dressed.

Going back downstairs she walks into the kitchen as Bonnie looks at Elena "You explain it. Last night, I'm watching Nine-o, and a commercial break came on and I'm like, I bet it's that phone commercial. And sure enough, it's that guy and the girl with the bench, he flies to Paris and he flies back. They take a picture."

Elena looks at her "Oh, come on. That commercial's on a constant loop." Bonnie sighs "Fine. Well, how about this? Today I'm obsessed with numbers. 3 numbers. I keep seeing 8, 14, and 22. How weird is that?"

Aurelia smirks "Maybe we should play the lottery." Bonnie gives her a look and Aurelia laughs "Bon I'm kidding" Elena looks at her "Have you talked to your Grams?"

Bonnie shakes her head "She's just gonna say it's because I'm a witch. I don't want to be a witch. Do you want to be a witch?"

Elena shakes her head agreeing with Bonnie "I don't want to be a witch."

Aurelia smirks "I think it would kinda cool to be a witch"

Elena pours the to-go food into a bowl. Bonnie laughs "And putting it in a nice bowl isn't fooling anybody."

Elena looks around "OK, serving spoons. Where are the serving spoons?"

Bonnie answers not missing a beat "Middle drawer on your left."

Aurelia smirks thinking 'Hmmm interesting'

Elena looks at her "OK, so you've been in this kitchen like a thousand times." Bonnie doesn't sound so sure "Yeah, that's it."

The doorbell rings. Elena looks at her "OK, he's here. Don't be nervous. Just be your normal loving self." Elena goes to get the door and Aurelia is watching Bonnie "birthday candles" Then she opens a drawer then closes it and walks into the dining room.

Aurelia opens the drawer and sees the birthday candles in the drawer 'Hmmm once again interesting'

Dinner has started and Aurelia, Elena, Bonnie, and Stefan are eating together.

Elena looks at Stefan "Did Tanner give you a hard time today?"

"Well, he let me on the team, so I must have done something right." Elena turns to the Bennett Witch "Bonnie, you should have seen Stefan today. Tyler threw a ball right at him, and..." Bonnie cuts her off "Yeah, I heard."

Aurelia bites her lip 'Wow she really does not like him'

"Why don't you tell Stefan about your family?" Elena once again tries to bring Bonnie into the conversation "Um, divorced. No, mom. Live with my dad." Elena shakes her head "No, about the witches. Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches. It's really cool."

Bonnie shakes her head "Cool isn't the word I'd use."

Aurelia smirks "It's the word I'd use"

Stefan looks over at her "Well, it's certainly interesting. I'm not too versed, but I do know that there's a history of Celtic druids that migrated here in the 1800s."

"My family came by way of Salem." Aurelia notices the look in Stefan's eye "Really? Salem witches?" Bonnie nods "Yeah."

"I would say that's pretty cool." Bonnie looks at him surprised "Really? Why?" Stefan smiles at her "Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity." that makes Bonnie smile "Yeah, they are."

The doorbell rings again. Elena looks at them "I wonder who that could be." Elena gets up to get the door and Aurelia follows her curious to who is there, Elena opens the door and Damon and Caroline are standing outside "Surprise! El said you were doing dinner, so we brought dessert."

Elena looks at her sister "Oh"

Caroline walks in linking arms with Aurelia pulling her into the living room a few minutes later Elena, Stefan and Damon walk into the living room as well.

Caroline is looking at Stefan "I cannot believe that Mr. Tanner let you on the team. Tyler must be seething. But good for you. Go for it." Damon smirks looking at his brother "That's what I always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it." Caroline nods "Yeah, Elena wasn't so lucky today. It's only because you missed summer camp." she looks at Aurelia "El missed summer camp too but she spent most nights at my house over the summer helping me come up with the routines"

Aurelia smiled at the blonde, who looked back over at Elena "God, I don't know how you're ever going to learn the routines." Bonnie looks at her "I'll work with her. She'll get it." Caroline isn't really paying them any mind "I guess we can put her in the back."

Aurelia smirks as Damon looks at Elena "You know, you don't seem like the cheerleader type, Elena." Caroline cuts in "Oh, it's just 'cause her parents died. Yeah, I mean, she's just totally going through a blah phase. She used to be way more fun." she notices the looks she getting from Elena and Aurelia and adds "And I say that with complete sensitivity."

"I'm sorry, Elena. I know what it's like to lose both of your parents. In fact, Stefan and I have watched almost every single person we've ever cared about die." Stefan glares at his brother "We don't need to get into that right now, Damon." Damon smirks "Oh, you know what, you're right, Stef. I'm sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was bring her up. Mmm."

As Bonnie, Elena and Damon are in the kitchen Stefan looks at Caroline "That's a really nice scarf." Caroline smiles "Mm. Thank you, it's new." Aurelia narrows her eyes" I noticed it during practice where'd you get it? you're not normally a scarf person..... trust me as your best friend I know this for a fact. "

Stefan looks at Caroline again "Can I see it? I mean, would you mind taking it off?" Caroline shakes her head "Oh, I can't." that makes Aurelia narrow her eyes again... something is off and she can tell but Aurelia just doesn't know what it is but she fully intends to find out that is for sure.

"Why not? You ok?" Caroline gets this confused look on her face "Um...All I know is that I can't take it off."

Damon walks back into the room "What are you two kids talking about?" Stefan gives him a forced smile "I was just commenting on her scarf."

Damon looks at him "Hmm." the looks at Caroline "Hey, you know, um, Elena and Bonnie are finishing up the dishes. Why don't you go see if you can help?"

Caroline raises an eyebrow at him "Does it look like I do dishes?" Damon gives her a look "For me?" Caroline seems as if she's thinking "Hmm..." then shakes her head "I don't think so." Damon rolls his eyes and compels her "Go see if Elena needs help in the kitchen."

Aurelia narrows her eyes at the dark-haired Salvatore as Caroline gets up "You know what? I'm gonna go see if Elena needs some help in the kitchen." Damon smiles at her "Great." Caroline leaves.

Aurelia glares at Damon "what the hell are you doing to my best friend?" Damon looks at her slightly surprised like he forgot she was standing there which he probably did. he looks Aurelia in the eyes and compels her or well tries to compel her "forget that just happened and go help the others in the kitchen"

Aurelia rolls her eyes "what the hell was that thing you just did with your eyes? and you didn't answer my question what are doing to my best friend?" Damon looks at her even more surprised "are you on vervain?" Aurelia shakes her head "No clue what that even is...... you know what you're weird and I'm going to check on Caroline"

Aurelia turns and walks out of the room and into the kitchen.

Later that night at the game Aurelia and Caroline walk up to her sister Caroline gives Elena a look "And you're not in uniform because..." she trails off.

After the fight between Tyler and her brother Aurelia went to the bathroom to get her brother some paper towels and on the way back she sees Stefan and Damon so she ducks down and hides behind a car where she can see and hear but hopefully they won't notice her.

"Isn't that nice? Stefan joins a team, makes a friend. It's all so, "rah, rah, go team, yeah!" Aurelia peeks through the car window watching, Stefan looks at his brother "Not tonight. I'm done with you."

"Nice trick with Elena. Let me guess...vervain in the necklace? I admit I was a bit surprised. It's been a while since anyone could resist my compulsion Elena's sister being the exception to that. Where'd you get it?" Stefan shakes his head "Does it matter?"

Damon smirks "Guess I could just seduce her the old-fashioned way. Or I could just...eat her." Aurelia looks at them confused but keeps her mouth shut and heartbeat steady. "No. You're not gonna hurt her, Damon."

Damon smirks again "No?" Stefan shakes his head "Because deep down inside, there is a part of you that feels for her. I was worried that you had no humanity left inside of you, that you may have actually become the monster that you pretend to be."

"Who's pretending?"

"Then kill me." Stefan challenges but Damon just smirks at him "Well, I'm...I'm tempted."

"No, you're not. You've had lifetimes to do it, and yet, here I am. I'm still alive. And there you are. You're still haunting me. After 145 years. Katherine is dead. And you hate me because you loved her, and you torture me because you still do. And that, my brother, is your humanity."

Aurelia mouths to herself '145 years? what the hell is Elena getting herself into?'

Aurelia ducks down noticing Tanner come out of the locker rooms "Salvatore! What the hell? We've got a game to play!"

She peeks her head back up in time to see Damon grab Tanner "If that's my humanity

then what's this?" then she sees Damon's face change and he bites into Tanner's neck and Aurelia watches as Damon kills him.

Stefan looks at Damon "No!" Damon just smirks at him "Anyone, anytime, anyplace." then she disappears" Aurelia stands up looking at Stefan "what the hell?"

He looks at her wide-eyed "you saw all that?" Aurelia crosses her arms over her chest "yeah and I heard everything.... so I ask once again what the hell?" Stefan sighs realizing that since she can't be compelled he has no choice but to tell her the truth.

"Well since you can't be compelled I have no choice but to tell you but you can't tell anyone, not Elena and not Caroline" Aurelia rolls her eyes "Okay I don't tell them everything anyway well I tell Caroline mostly everything but that's beside the point, I won't tell them"

He looks her in the eye "my brother and I are vampires, we were turned in 1864 by a woman named Katherine and what Damon tried to do to you earlier is called compulsion but it can be prevented by the consumption of an herb called vervain or it can be put into jewelry like the necklace I gave your sister earlier tonight"

Aurelia nods "okay so why couldn't he compel me then?" Stefan shakes his head "I don't know unless you're on vervain but you didn't even know what it was until now so maybe somebody gave you something with vervain in it"

Aurelia shrugs "no idea the only jewelry I wear all the time is the bracelet my mom gave me for my 16th birthday" she holds up her wrist and shows him the bracelet. "no idea how that could have vervain in it" Stefan looks at it then touches the bracelet and pulls his hand back as it sizzles "well somehow it does..... your mom was looking out for you when she gave you that"

Aurelia smiles slightly then frowns "wait so Damon.... the scarf he bit Caroline? is she gonna turn into a vampire now?" Stefan chuckles slightly "yes he bit her, he fed on her, and no she's not going to turn into a vampire, the only way that could happen is if Damon were to feed her his blood and she was to die with it in her system"

Aurelia rolls her eyes "I don't like your brother very much..... he's using my best friend as a walking blood bag and I can't even tell her" Stefan gives her a look "you know you didn't even bat an eye at Mr. Tanner's death" Aurelia shrugs "he was an asshole and I really couldn't care less.... that sounds cold-hearted but it's the truth."

Stefan nods "okay why don't you head on out... let everything I told you sink in and get some sleep, I'm gonna go and check on Elena"

Aurelia nods "okay.... yeah with Tanner's death they'll postpone the game" with that Aurelia heads home.

Honestly, she hopes that she has another dream where she can talk to Kai because at least he's the one person she can tell what she learned that night to, and well no one will know that she told anybody.

Once she gets home she changes clothes and heads to bed.
