Introduce Chapter
The persistent racket came from the fan, and the ticking from the clock... Tick tock tick tock, it's teasing my patience, and teasing my mind... It's 2 o'clock, the next day already, yet the light from the window covered by curtains still dared to flickering at my eyes... That torturing machine on my desk combined with my blue bed lamp keeps me anxious about when sunlight burns my eyes, and how many seconds to rest in this vibe.
I've rotted on this mattress for many hours straight. Time moves as slowly as a snail.
I remember this happened yesterday, same scenario, same minute, and same problem. I have tried to drain the redundant energy stuck in my bumping heart only for a comfortable nap. Unfortunately, my body is in love with against me... My brain kept flashing me embarrassing memories from seven years ago that I have forced myself to forget every single detail every day. My skin and flesh turned unstable whenever I chose for myself a flawless position. And in this exact scene, when I fell into deep rest at the end of the night? Then I'm forced to be awakened by the boiling sunlight? The moment I stand up, my eyes replay that annoying game, blind me, and force me to drop directly on the floor so I can regain consciousness again. I hate this repeating torture...
As my thoughts flowed out of my mind, I slept unaware, drowned deep in my goodnight sleep.
...
Whoosh, whoosh... the sound of the wind blowing on my face, wakes me up...
I open my eyes, surprised by the cloud I was lying on.
There's light illuminating, resembling the morning sun... Then everything dimmed down, slowly revealing the starry night, where the stars are actually in groups and twinkling. First in my lifetime to perceive comets flying around, a full experience of the true beauty of the Moon. In unison, paint a dreamy masterpiece; along with harmony from the wind, from the twinkling star. I can see that the words blend in harmony together, creating the grace, making such a vivid show...
The wind flows out such a drowsy scent to my senses, I could just lie on the white cloud I'm sitting on when stargazing at the sky.
When my eyelids are all settled down for a sweet nap. Something is touching me, calling me up.
- Wake up, dear friend! Wake up! – The mysterious creature said.
I was instantly awake, searching for the creature that had spoken in my ear.
- Hey there, I'm down here
I look down and discover the creature that was speaking to me is... a cat?
Out of the blue, a white, silky cat appeared and sat beside me. There's a wizard hat full of stars on top of its head, and a blue sky scarf with a tint of dark purple blends with each other. A bright pole topped with a glass cylinder is behind its back, attracting my attention. I see a bright energy sphere and a diamond-shaped star floating inside. It might be a magical staff.
Thoughts immediately come to my mind. Why does a cat wear those on itself? Is it speaking to me?
When I was still sitting with uncountable questions, they kept coming up around the cat. Suddenly, a cloud came from up in the sky to down here. That mysterious furry creature jumps onto the cloud and turns its head toward me, seeming to tell me to get on the cloud too. With a lot of doubt rumbling in my chest, it is obviously better to get on the cloud than sit on this unknown land with nothing to do other than stargazing.
At the moment, I have steadily positioned myself on the cloud; it levitates in the sky ... I see a glowing glitter in the cloud. By the time it flies up in the sky, then those trails of twinkling glitter assemble into position, playing a part inside the masterpiece I've seen.
I looked at the "cloudy" ground, slowly revealing how massive it is. I keep staring at the ground. The ground keeps expanding into infinity from my point of view. Soon, I notice lights shining on the levitating cloud I'm sitting on. There is light that beams like a lightbulb through a portal above my head. Eventually, the mysterious ring approaches closer to me as the cloud levitates higher and higher.
"Poof." The sound when the cat finally went through the hole. The dreamy scent from under there now transitions to the bright morning vibe. The hole is the portal between them.
- Greeting new friend, welcome to our world! I'm so glad we have a brand new visitor to this world! And I'm also glad that... I will be your guide! If you have anything you need to know, don't be afraid to ask!
My mouth suddenly freezes as soon as the idea strikes, although I have a lot of questions to ask. I love how nice the cat is, but I somehow felt uneasy, somehow unable to speak, only just to stand there feeling awkward, extremely awkward.
- Oh... One moment please... - The cat searched for something in its backpack. It took a notebook; I wrote something inside, and gave me the notebook.
The cat wrote: "If you are feeling frozen in your vocal cords, let's write your question here then!" Aw... Such thoughtfulness!
Then I wrote: "Thank you for your help. I indeed got like... so much to ask you. But first, can I know where I am?" Is that question too rude? Then, I cross it out. I rewrote: "Could I know more about this world?" Isn't that what I am gonna go for with it? Again, I crossed it out, rewrote: "Is there a reason I appeared to be here?" There is no reason but I cross it, then rewrite again: "Why..." I'm stuck there and clueless to excavate what to ask at all. I'm also afraid that the kitty has to wait for too long....- Hey!... You don't have to stress out crossing questions you wanted to ask... Remember that there's no need to be afraid!... Come on, buddy!
I have a feeling it is reading my mind. But at last, I'm brave enough to decide to write all 3 recent questions I have written.
I gave the notebook back to the cat, but still afraid of getting judged because of those "toxic" questions of mine.
- I see your question... Don't worry! Everything you want to acknowledge does not have any offence! – The kitty comforts
- There is a reason you appeared to be here! I'll explain this world further! And... as well... You are currently in the Dream World, and you are currently on the Dream Town planet!
I'm standing there, clueless. What it says is ridiculous to me...
- ... Well, let's go to my house. It is of course weird to sit here at the entrance portal.
We begin the journey to its house. The portal fades away; I can see a dark blue and light purple gradient ring around the portal.
The "wizard" cat is leading the way, and I am following behind. Step by step, we're slowly leaving the portal area, and slowly approaching the main part of the town... That's what that cat says. We still have to travel from the portal area to the major town. I do not know how long this is blank space. I feel like we walked for 59 minutes and not even halfway...
I'm having an idea that we can just have a conversation while walking. I really want to suggest that we should talk right now, creating some more opportunity for me to know more about this place. But maybe it is all because my social anxiety affects my communication even when there's only 2 of us. Now I'm staying silent, although my feet are slowly and aggressively suffering.
- Hey there, friend... Do you have any suggestions for us to waste our time while we are still walking to my house? Walking gets truly boring...
- Hm... I... think it's a good idea to talk about... uh... about... hmm...
- About your questions, isn't it?
- Oh, yes!... yes... my questions! – I am truly embarrassed by my stutter; it is such a disturbing mistake of mine...
- Well, okay! So let me see... - I return the notebook – First question: "Where am I right now?" You are currently inside the Floating Earth of Dreamiest! This land exists inside REM sleep in Earth's animal species! Quoting what the book told me. For our part, when the dreamer currently experiences a problem in their life, mostly a mental issue! Instead of receiving a horrifying nightmare like what the books told, a colorful pastel comet flew to the dreamer's brain's network to interrupt the incoming nightmare coming to the dreamer, bringing them to our world!... So do you have any further questions?
The information from the cat does sound familiar, like what I read in the pile of books in my room, except for the pastel comet part striking my nightmare.
- Well, I got a question about the "comet" one. You mean, like seriously? A meteor striking my dream?
- Oh... uh... That's unfortunately beyond my level. Maybe you should find a book that tells about it in the library here! To shorten what I mean, I don't know why.
- Oh okay-
- Next one: Could I know about-
-I know a part of this world. Everything else I can search in the library.
- That's good to hear. Now, the last question: Is there a reason?-
- Oh well, it goes the same as the previous one...
- Alrighty! Hmm... Is there anything you wanna ask in the last question?
- Oh, it's best for you to ignore it, I guess...
-Well, great! Let's continue the walk... Wait, where are we now?
- In case you're asking, we are in half way in halfway through this journey.
- Wait, seriously!? We're not reaching halfway yet??
...
- Uhm... are you a wizard?– As I glared at its staff.
- Oh... yeah! I know how to summon a flying cloud!
The cat takes the magical staff behind it, the orb glows, and I see a cloud has spawned nearby. We get on the cloud like the way we get on down there, all stable. Woosh... We reached the house soon.
In the living room, a cup of water and a slice of cake are ready up at the table.
- So... have you know my name yet?
- I have not heard your name.
- Wait? Really? Well... Uhm...
It stops itself for a moment, must be thinking for words to respond...
- Well... how about you make me a nickname? It's like a signature when meeting new friends!
- Name you a nickname, huh?
- Yes! I mean, I'm not sure about my "name" sounds to you yet, but for a better experience, I offer you to make us a nickname!
Granted the freedom for fun naming, I gather every idea. Its fur is white as snow and smooth like a bed, a cool wizard...
- Well, I'll call you Lourvers then.
