quiet (part 1)
(Play music)
Both geno and greson walked into the house, and geno was instantly met with the smell of food.
Geno's stomach(?) Grumbled, causing geno to turn red while greson laughed.
"I'm hungry too, come on. The rest of the staff are probably asleep. Well have some privacy to talk." Greson said as he made his way down a small hallway to a room to the right.
Geno slowly followed greson, he adjusted his backpack and looked out the window pointing to the tunnel. More lights were started to shine through, he saw two monsters drop a long piece of cloth in front of the tunnel, erasing any light that shown through.
He saw them stay there afterwards, they probably must be on guard. Maybe to keep him in.
"Or to keep something out?" Geno whispered to himself.
"Geno?" Greson's faint voice called for him.
"C-coming." Geno called out to him and followed the path greson took. It led him to a small kitchen, all of it made of wood. It took a moment to look around, it reminded him of the kitchen back at Home.
His dad would usually have meetings with the king, so geno and papyrus would usually roam around the castle for fun.
They're favorite place was the castles kitchen, it smelled good and looked nice. He remembered when chara, Asreal, papyrus and him would hide from the maids and butlers in the cabinets. They would steal chocolate from the place too.
Remembering that actually brought a small smile to his face. But It quickly faded back to a frown after he remembered the fact that all three of them are dead.
He couldn't help but wonder what they would have looked like if they all grew up together.
"Something on your mind, kid?" Greson said pulling out a slice of Cinnabon and his half eaten lettuce.
"Huh?" Geno said perking up, "no, just.....memories."
Greson grunted in response and set the food down on the table, since there was no light greson has lit a bunch if candles that sat all over the kitchen.
Geno sat at the counter, just a seat away from greson.
"Thank you." Geno said shyly as he looked at the Cinnabon in front of him. Greson smiled and took the seat one away from geno, respecting his space.
"Are you sure you're alright, geno?" Greson asked once more snapping geno out of his trance. He realized he was staring at his food for a few minutes.
"y-yeah I'm fine." Geno lied, "..........I don't like lying - no I don't think I'm fine." He said truthfully this time.
Greson smile faded a bit as he put a hand on geno's shoulder. Already used to this, geno didn't flinch.
"you can tell me, kid. But that's if you want to, I perfectly fine with silence if that's what you want."
Geno shut his eye shut and nodded, "I need to leave."
Greson raised an eyebrow but his calm expression didn't leave, "would you like me to explain why you can't go back, at least not now?"
Geno nodded but kept his eyes shut, he was feeling to emotional about Home.
Greson sighed and put his hand on laid his hands on the table, "if the situation was different, we would have actually helped you get back to your home."
"You would?" Geno sniffed looked at greson.
Greson nodded, "Yes, we would have had a few monster escort you to your home after a few days of staying here and making sure you won't give away our place. But, you're in the scouts."
"W-what does that have to do with anything? I'm apart of the scouts that go and find missing monsters when they disappear at an alarming rate." Geno sniffed some more, desperately trying not to cry.
"I know, and I'm sorry." Greson said gently trying not to upset geno anymore, "But we have bad history with scouts, it may have not seem like it, but many of ours were killed in the war-"
"Don't talk about that!" Geno suddenly yelled he slammed his hands on the counter and backed up away from greson knocking his chair down in the process.
"Pl-please, I ca-can't handle remembering t-that!"
Geno gripped his skull as he tried to take breaths of air while trembling.
Greson was quick to act and walked to geno, he put his arm around geno's shoulder and kept him from falling.
"Take deep breaths."
Geno obeyed and took a uneven shuddering gulp of air, already calming his nerves. This continued for a few minutes until geno completely calmed down.
Geno realized what happened and was already saying sorry.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know I'm acting stupid with these things." Geno said feeling guilty.
Greson's eyes widened and he and geno went back to sit, "no, what are you saying sorry for, kid? This is not stupid, you shouldn't have to go through this."
Geno shrugged and shuddered, "Let's please talk about something else." He begged.
"Okay," Greson said cautiously, "What's your favorite color kid?" Greson smiled, geno felt happy about the subject change.
"Dark green," geno said looking down at his long sleeve.
"Hhmm, I prefer light colors. Like blue." Greson shrugged as he pointed to geno's food, "you should eat, your HP is really low."
Immediately hunger rushed through geno as he started to take a bite out of the Cinnabon. Greson raised an eyebrow when he saw geno's HP didn't go up.
"Is something wrong with your HP kid?" Greson asked, "is it because all of the blood going on with you?"
Geno shrugged as he pulled up the sleeve of his right arm, revealing a very slightly chipped arm.
"It may not look like it, but Alphys said she had a theory that it doesn't really go up or down."
And with that geno moved his arm all the way above his skull, then proceeded to slam it down on the counter.
"Ow," geno mumbled.
Greson was quick as he grabbed geno's arm to stop doing that. The action caused geno to slightly flinch and looked up at to a horror-struck greson.
Greson slightly gasped to see a small number above geno's head.
-1
He was surprised and relived when geno didn't appear to be dusting.
"Why on earth would you do that?" Greson asked, slightly calming down "I know I'm old, but I'm in no hurry to die of a heart attack."
"Sorry," geno said holding back a smile, "But my HP here didn't go down."
Greson looked at geno's HP bar to find it the same, "wow," Greson lightly laughed, "that was enough excitement for me today, I think it's best if we head off to bed."
Geno didn't really feel tired, due to him sleeping at night and not in the morning, followed greson upstairs to a hallway with doors.
"This room has spare beds, I hope you don't mind, but there is small children sleeping In here as well," Greson said turning the knob.
"I Don't mind," geno said feeling a bit nervous, there would most likely be vampire children in there.
Greson opened the door and shined a a candle. He was met with the frozen still bodies of small vampires. From toddler to teenager looking, they all stood frozen looking at greson. A lot of them had toys in their hand and some where even caught jumping on the bed.
They all looked at greson with an 'oops' face.
"Now what are ya'll doing out of bed," Greson sighed.
For two seconds the children stayed still before they started to squeal and laughed as they started to run dropping the toys to the ground while jumping on to bed.
"Little rascals," Greson laughed as he and geno walked into the huge room. Toys and paper where scattered everywhere, all the beds where bunk beds that had giggling children on.
"Now I want you guys to go back to sleep," Greson said, "this here is my friend geno, he's going to be staying here till further notice, I don't want ya'll to give him trouble, ya hear?"
Some giggled and said yes, but one yelled out "Woah! Are you hurt!?"
"Um," geno said, slightly cringing from the loudness, "no, it doesn't hurt anymore.....I'm fine, I guess."
"Oooooooo," he heard some say behind him.
"Hi!" a small voice said, geno turned his head and saw it was the small deer vampire that took his hand in the tunnel. She laid on the top of one of the bunk beds waving her hand at geno.
"Hello," geno smiled politely at her.
"This is mini," Greson said as he walked to a her bunk bed, he pointed to the bottom bunk which was empty "you're really small, so you'll fit easily."
Geno turned red, "I'm....I'm not small,"
Small fits of laughter boomed in the room.
Geno's face turned almost as red as the blood on his chin, "I'm not!"
"Yeah you are," mini giggled.
Geno's face felt hot as he frowned in embarrassment. He looked over at greson who was trying extremely hard not to laugh but failed.
"Not you too..." geno groaned as he kinda covered his face with one hand.
Greson laughed a bit before patting geno on the shoulder, "good night geno." And with that greson left, he made sure to leave the candle on the night stand next to the bunk bed. It was enough light to see for him.
"Here," mini said jumping down from the top of the bed and grabbing geno's arm. She brought him to the bottom bunk to sit down.
"I'll let you have one of my pillows, they're animal shaped though."
"It's o-okay, thank you," geno said nervously, he didn't feel that comfortable without greson near by.
He already started to hear small shuffles of kids making their way to him. Some of them stared at him curiously, while others got near him.
Geno tried to smile but it only looked nervous, a few noticed this and started to hit the arms of the others to back away.
Sudden guilt hit geno and he gave them an actual smile, "It's fine, you don't have to leave, sorry if I seem nervous."
They all smiled back and sat on the bed, "are you dead?" One of them asked.
"Um, no?" Geno said a bit taken back by the sudden question.
"What's that thing in front of your eye?" Another asked.
"It's.....let's call it a glitch," geno said and shrugged.
"Oooooo" he heard them echo which caused him to chuckle.
"Can you see through it?" One asked asked.
"No, I can't really see the glitch either." Geno smiled waving a hand in front of the glitch, "I can only see black through here,"
"So if you covered your eye you wouldn't see?" Mini asked and put her hand in front of geno's eye.
"Yeah," geno said as his vision was just black nothingness, "can't see anything now."
Some of the kids giggled when one held up a few fingers and geno didn't react. They even went as far as making funny faces and laughed when geno sat there dumbfounded.
"What are you guys doing," geno laughed as he regained his vision.
"Nooootthhiinngg," they giggled and sat back down.
