When I was younger, just about to become and adult, was the day I witnessed the deaths of the Royals. It was a quiet night, I didn't think much of it. But when I hear the screams and cries of the children everyone rushed out of their camps.

The king and queen rushed out of their tent that was guarded heavily. They pushed past the guards and made their way to the children's tent. I ran with them, using my magic and summoning a spear ready for attack.

But when the tent was opened the queen let out a horrifying scream. They weren't there, papyrus, Asriel, chara, and Geno. The next thing I knew gaster rushed to my side, slightly pushing my away to see.

"Where are they!?" He said in a panicked tone. But as if on que, a horrible blood curdling scream rang in the forest. Immediately without an order everyone in the camp ran down the hill and too the forest.

"CHARA! ASRIEL!" The queen would scream as they heard cries of pain.

"PAPYRUS! GENO!" Gaster would scream when not a sound was heard.

And when we finally found them, it was too late. Blood dripped from the trees, dust coated the air. And a small skeleton trembled in the middle of it all. No one did a thing, they stood there in complete shock.

And when a sound was made, it was the queen crying in horror. The sounds snapped me out of my senses, I ran to geno. His figure trembled, his body wouldn't move when I tried to get his arms away from his face.

I turned and saw what was scaring him, Chara's body laid in front of us. Their eyes opened wide and their pupils so small it looked like they were gone. Blood dripped from Chara's mouth as i looked over to the rest of Chara's body.

A huge stab wound as big as a hole soaked Chara's favorite sweater in blood. I put my hands on my mouth, trying to keep myself from vomiting. A migoruty of monsters don't bleed, so I really wasn't used to this sight.

A thud was heard a few inches away from me, I turned to see Gaster on his knees over a pile of dust. On top of that dust was papyrus's favorite red handkerchief.

"Papyrus......" gaster said, tears came from his eyes as he looked at the dust beneath him. His crying turned into sobs as gasped, he clutched his chest, it was hard to breath.
"Papyrus.......*sob* no, no, *sob*" gaster cried.

I felt hot tears in my eyes as well, but i put my focus back on geno. His body still trembled, he seemed so in shock that he didn't even noticed I kept  shaking his shoulder.

Soon I started gripping his arms again, trying to pry them away from his face. Out of nowhere his body went limp, and I was able to get his hands away and pick him up. His eye glowed a dangerous dull blue, his arms started to move and wrapped around my shoulder.

"I'm *sob* so sorry!!" Geno cried, he held on to me so tightly that it felt like he was choking me. I tried to calm him down and much as I could, but the cries of gaster and the king and queen only made him shake and sob violently.

"S-sshhh," I tried my best to say soothingly, I rubbed his back and rocked him a bit, "its not your fault okay geno."

Geno immediately pushed me away from him, making him fall to the ground.

"IT IS MY FAULT!!" Geno hollered, everyone's attention turned to him. Yet they all stayed back, and I could see why. Geno's eye blazed a dark red, his voice changed in tone. He looked threatening just by standing there.

"I DID NOTHING!" Geno screamed he held onto his skull and looked to the ground, "I LET THEM DIE!!"

Everyone including me stood in shock, the cries of the queen were no longer heard and Asgore's face turned into a look of dread.

"Geno," gaster said as he got up from the spot he was in, he slowly walked towards geno, he reached a hand out to touch geno's skull. "Please, calm down."

A painful smack was heard as geno hit gasters hand away from him. Gaster flinched but didnt leave his son. Very slightly I could see tears running down his face as he collapsed to the ground.
"I-i'm just a coward."

Gaster went down to his knees and embraced geno. Geno didn't hug back went limp in gasters arm. I heard gaster whispering to him in Wing Dings, a language I can't understand. Soon after gaster finished talking, geno fell asleep.

Gaster sniffed as he lifted geno from the ground and held him. Soon he started trembling a little and cried in geno's chest.
"W-why?" He sobbed.

Everyone gave gaster some space, and focused on the other problem. The queen slowly made her way towards Chara's body, her eyes still full of big tears that dripped from her face.  Asgore walked by her side keeping her walking as her body trembled. Once they reached Chara's body they both fell to the ground.

"Chara....." Asgore sniffed, he picked up Chara's lifeless body and held it close. The blood soaked his shaking paws as he mourned over his dead child.

The queen looked to me, her sad eyes sent shivers through my soul. Her voice quivered as she spoke, "u-undyne, where's Asriel?"

My body shook as I pointed to a pile of dust I have see a while ago. I finally knew who it was, the queen screamed out in shock and disbelief as she bent over her sons dust.

I put my hand onto a tree, keeping myself steady as the nausea got to me. The vomit tasted bitter and disgusting, the smell of dust as human blood didn't make it better. Nothing but screaming, crying and gasp were all I could hear. It made my head dizzy, but something snapped me out of it.

A roar, no, more like a screech, one that sounded like a door opening in the middle of the night. But this, this sounded more satanic. Everyone looked up, birds were flying away from the trees.

The guards went into immediate action and grabbed the king and queen to safety. The force of the pulling the guards did made Asgore drop Chara's body back to the floor.

"NO!" Asgore screamed but they didn't let him get any closer and pushed him back.

"I'm sorry but we need to get you guys to safety!" The guards yelled back, queen Toriel cried a let out a scream when she saw a creature poking it's head out of the trees.

The creature was covered in brown fur, it had long red claws and sharp teeth. it's body almost resemble one of a bear, but it's eyes were wide and looked like they were clawed out.

Quickly, I ran over to gaster and grabbed him by the shoulder. He held on to geno tightly as I pushed him to run. But that triggered the creature. It's still motion went into a sprint, gaster was about to summon a few bones to attack but I gave him a sharp shove.

"Run! Take care of geno," I yelled at him and fell behind, "I'll take care of it!"
Gaster looked hesitant but nodded, carrying geno tightly in his arms. I took a deep breath, I felt scared and nervous. I had very little armor, since I was just a solider, so I didn't know what might happen if that thing got got a hit on me.

I could hear it's loud steps booming closer to me, with one more act of courage I turn around and ran towards it.

To only see it was waiting behind me.

Spears were summoned, my soul raced as I looked into it's shredded eyes. The green inside it haunted me. My legs shook, as it got closer.

And I attacked

Hours later, the blood still felt warm. I could feel my XP and LOVE increase. My eye had been lost, damaged by a hit from the thing. I look to the ground I laid on, I could hear the sound of it dusting.

I slowly got up, my bones sore and full of cuts and bruises. I got up to my knees, then my legs. I realized that the battle took me all the back to the place the children died.

But Chara's body wasn't there, the blood was dried and all that remained was two piles of dust.

"Jesus," I say and turn my head away, but I force myself to walk to papyrus's remains. He was always a good kid, extremely naive, but a great monster. He always had a puzzle to show, I just couldn't believe this small pile of dust was him.

I bent down to it, and before I could even touch it, a gust of wind blew and wiped away his dust making the place look foggy. I felt hot tears with the blood mix as a feeling of dread went through my soul.

"So I could defeat that thing but I can't even bring back the dust of the dead for their families to mourn over!?" I practically screamed, my hands dug into the dirt painfully.
A few minutes later I look up to see a small red handkerchief on the ground. Completely untouched by the blood or dust. Slowly I reach out my arm to grab it and took a closer look.

"This is papyrus's," I say wiping away the tears and blood. But this small moment of joy was interrupted by sounds coming in the forest, I realized that it wasn't safe for me to stay here and got up. Holding onto papyrus's handkerchief tightly.

Halfway through the forest some guards who were looking for me rushed over and helped me walk. When we finally came back nothing but grieving was heard, Gaster sat on the ground holding tightly onto geno and crying in his sweater. The king and queen were holding onto each other, Asgore tried to give Toriel comforting words but she didn't seem to hear.

No one except a few other guards noticed my return and rushed to heal me. The green magic healed every cut on my body except for my eye. One of the doctors that we'd brought said there was no hope for my eye and gave me an eye patch. My heart hurt and the fact I'll never be able to see through my eye again but then I remembered.

I don't have the right to feel sad.

I look over to Asgore, Toriel and Gaster, all of which lost their children. Me losing an eye wasn't something to cry over, I just wondered what we were going to to next.

An hour later everyone started to move and walk back to the monster kingdom. After walking a couple of minutes I look back to the forest. Fog had come from nowhere and was invading the forest. Making it look dark and scary. I guess that's how it got its name now.

About one month later things haven't settled down, when we had gotten back from the trip, Asgore had to tell the public what had happened. But, he was too heartbroken to look anyone in the eye, even gaster.

Everything had to be told by a fellow friend of gaster, since he too couldn't even move. The public took it personally and everyone mourned for  the three Royals that died.

A funeral was made a few weeks later, but since I couldn't get the dust or find Chara's body. They used the object each royal cherished the most.

For chara and Asriel, they barried their heart lockets together, under a pile of buttercups. Poisonous but beautiful, one of their favorite flowers.

For Papyrus, they barried a book, The fluffy bunny, the one his mom had written for him before she passed away. His book was barried right beside her.

But the funeral wasn't the only thing I was sad over. I soon left the king and queen and went inside the castle.
Geno hadn't come out of his room in days and refused to eat or drink anyone had to offer him. Gaster had to stay with him just to make sure he would at least eat something.

My footsteps echoed in the hallway as I made my way to geno's room. I saw the door open and gaster walked out. He had a sad and tired expression, he laid his back against the wall before sliding down to the floor.

He put his arms on his knees and looked at the ground. I walked towards him and sat down with him. He didn't seem to care that I was there.

"Is he doing any better?" I asked, but with gasters expression I already knew the answer.
Gaster slowly shook his head, his eye sockets had dark circles underneath them. His eyes were starting to go dull, and his body seemed skinner.

I slowly reached in my pocket, I could feel papyrus's handkerchief safely tucked inside. I thought about handing it over, but the last time someone mentioned papyrus gaster lashed out on them.

I leave the handkerchief alone, I'll just speak with gaster when he's ready.

"Undyne," gaster said breaking my train of thought, I looked over to him and nodded.
"Can I ask you to promise something for me? "

Without thinking I nodded and waited for his request. He took in a few shaky breaths and got up, I got up as well we looked at each other in the eye.

"Can you watch over geno? Protect him and make sure he's safe no matter what" gaster asked, his voice cracked as if he was on the verge of tears, "I can bearly keep myself together, I'm getting angrier, I can't seem to focus, and it feels like I'll snap at any moment. I can't help geno when I'm like - like this!!"

"Hey hey hey!" I quickly say and put a hand on gasters shoulder, his eyes were stained with tears and his body slightly trembled. He looked up at me, his eyes looked like they were begging my for something.

"Look, gaster....i....I promise," I say, gaster wiped his tears and gave me a small smile.
"Thank you, you don't know how much that means to me." Gaster said and looked down the hallway, a soldier waved him over.
"Thanks undyne, I have go now. I'll speak with you later."

And with that, gaster left.

I never did get to give him the handkerchief back.

(Present day)

A young fish lady walked through the castle halls, everyday the place looked a bit more dull. A bit more ghostly.
But undyne didn't care, she carried a folder in her hands. It only contained a paper, but just with one signature it could change the future of monsters.

Five guards stood in front of Asgore office, the big golden doors look dull and seemed to lose their color. The guards immediately went out of their way when they saw undyne. She had great authority now and was allowed anywhere in the castle.

The doors opened and the familiar sent of lemon tea filled undyne's noise. The king sat on a big chair surrounded by buttercups.
His beard was starting to go grey, his yellow eyes had completely lost it's color. And his movements seemed more slower and sad.

Undyne didn't care.

"Ah, undyne." Asgore said and placed his cup of tea down, his voice sounded different, like it lost its color as well "would you like some? I have plenty more."

Undyne shook her head, "no, I think it would benefit the both of us to get straight to the point."

Asgore nodded and looked at undyne, "what is it that you needed go ask of me?"

Silently undyne made her way to a small table nearby and brought it to the king. She then placed the the folder on it.

"As you've been informed it was I who decided to go through with the plan to start another war." Undyne said and opened the folder, Asgore nodded and continued to listen.

Undyne opened the folder and placed a pen on top of it.

"All you have to do is sign and I'll lead the war."

Undyne didn't care if she got hurt, she didn't care that others will. All her head played over and over was the deaths of the Royals and how geno was never the same.

She never wanted something like that to happen ever again. She made a promise after all. So she was going to use Asgore's recklessness to her advantage.

She was going to give her family a happy ending.

And with just one swipe of the pen, Asgore's name was signed.

Hey there guys hope u like this chapter because some of my sanity is gone lol.

It's almost one in the morning and my friends are over and won't go to bed lol, and they're on my computer so ya.

And my brother is being a fucking idiot and screaming for no reason.

I'm amazed by how much I want to fucking s t r a n g l e him.

Lol sorry if I seem salty I just really want to sleep.
