Nancy's Pov

"Hey sweetheart " Austin entered my room and I got startle by his sudden appearance ...
He always comes at wrong time
I hissed rubbing my temple .
I sheepishly turned to look at my laptop , I could clearly see annoyance on Noel's face ..
He was on a video call with me and I don't know from where that idiot entered my room that too without knocking .
"What is he doing here ? " Noel asked , his voice became little hoarse ...
"Who me ? I came to meet my bestie " he replied Mocking him .
His face grimaced .
"by the way in your training didn't you practice running or you skipped it " he said with a snigger .
I was looking Austin in confusion .
"her mom and dad wants  me to marry her , if you still continue like a snail then I'll end up making her mine" Austin teased him , sitting beside me on bed and placing his hand on my shoulder ..

Why is he doing this ?

I was totally spaced out .
I know he is joking but can't he see that the  person infront of him is not in mood to understand his joke instead he was raging like fire !
"Stay away from her " Noel replied .
"And What if I don't ! Will you put me in jail officer ? " Austin replied with a chuckle ..

Why the hell is he creating fuss !

Is this my last day on earth ?

"Shut up " I hissed slapping his arm ..
"Okay okay I'm leaving " he replied and left ...
Now I'm doomed ! . Completely doomed .
"I think Dad is calling me, talk to you later" I awkwardly replied .
"Am I looking fool to you " he said piercing me with his keen eyes ..
"You promised to stay away from him !" He added ..
"I know, I know but he is my friend and he was only teasing you , he didn't mean anything " I tried to explain him..
All the issues between me and Austin was resolved , after passing out from school he genuinely apologised to me and ask me to remain his friend ..

"Is your mam dad like him ? " Noel asked again .
"No idiot, he was making fun of you, he is getting engaged next month, but I'll definitely find someone else for myself " I replied annoyingly ..
"Ok I'll come next month " he replied .
"You are saying this since Nia's wedding and next month is their anniversary " I replied furiously looking at other direction.
He chuckled ..
"What's is so funny ? " I said folding my hand against my chest .
"You're looking very cute , if I could teleport then I would have eat you right now " he replied with his half smile .
That was making my heart pounding louder but I somehow managed to not melt by his words ..

"Okay next week we are meeting at Will's wedding , from there I'll come along with you to meet your parents " he replied assuring me ..
"Are you sure ? " I asked .
"Promise " he replied ..
"Okay " I replied with a smile and he smiled back ..
"I love you " he said .
"I love you too " I replied and we ended our call ..

It's been five years since we completed our schooling .
I never believed in long distance relationships , and I thought with time may be we forget each other or get busy in our lives , but I was wrong .
With every passing day our love grew more and more stronger , after passing out from Wisdom we never met each other but it didn't weaken our bond .
My mom and his parents knows about our relationship and they even loves me a lot , but my dad is unaware of all this .
I never got courage to tell him anything and even Noel didn't want me to tell him anything till he won't achieve something .
But now he is became a police officer and I got a job too ...
I can only hope that after Suzie and Will's wedding he came to meet my parents ..

Next day I woke up very late as it was Sunday .But my mom warned me to clean my room and took me almost whole afternoon to clean that mess and making everything Spick and span ..
I heard doorbell .
"Nancy please open the door " she shouted and I hurtled down the stairs opening the door ..
My eyes stunned open looking at the person infront of me ,my heart filled with anonymous warmth like it got it's beat ..
"Hey love " he whispered looking at me , smile conquered on his face ..
Tear pricked at the corner of my eyes and he gently wiped it off with his thumb.
I wanted to hug him, to pull him in my embrace but I couldn't do that in presence of my parents ..
"Who is there ? " My mom asked coming out of the kitchen holding a knife in her hand .
"Noel " she merrily said looking at him .
"Hello Aunty " he said entering inside .
"What a pleasant surprise dear "she said giving him a hug .
"You look more handsome in real " she replied and I giggled ..
My Dad came out from his study room looking at him suspiciously .
"Who is he ? " He asked my mom and I got shuddered at my place ..

How could I forget about my dad ?

And why did he show up suddenly , couldn't he tell me about this yesterday ?

What am I going to tell him now ?

Noel's Pov ..

I've been making this plan to meet her parents since one month , although I didn't tell her about this cause I know she will spend her every minute in anxiety ..
Although I was anxious too , it's not easy to meet your girlfriend's Dad but I couldn't delay it for longer ..
My eyes were longing to meet her eyes , my heart was craving to meet his heartbeat and my soul was aching to hold her in my embrace and these desires were getting irresistible for me .

I decided to meet her dad and tell him everything about our relationship .
But when her dad really came infront of me all that courage vanished somewhere and cold sweat broke on my face ..
"He is your daughter's boyfriend " Her mother told him without any hesitation ..
"Nancy's boyfriend " he asked in amusement ..
"Ofcourse David , Nia is already married " she carelessly replied ..
"Hello sir " I said after a while and he just nodded .
"Come sit here my son " she said pulling me to the couch but her dad was scanning me from top to bottom.
"Let me make some coffee for you " she said giving me a glass of water .
"Nancy dear just come and help me" she said pulling her inside the kitchen , I looked at her confused and tensed face .
She looked at me in pleading eyes like saying me to not to do anything wrong and I smiled back assuring her ..

Now only two of us were left alone ,
He took few steps sitting infront of me .
Silence .
I could only hear the ticker of clock and my racing heart beat ..

Why is it so hard ?

I was scared more than those culprits whom I interrogate daily .

Now I'm cursing myself to not bring my dad with me ?
With sweaty palm I cupped that glass and gulped water ..
"How long have you known my daughter ? " He asked with his keen eyes ..
"We studied together in Wisdom school " I replied .
And he pulled his specs , rubbing his eyes with hand ..
"Strange she never told me about you and your relationship " he said with a smile but I understood that he was little bit hurt by this .
"I'm sorry sir , actually I asked her to not to tell you anything till we don't get financially independent " I replied to erase his doubts.
I could not let him feel that his daughter hiding something from him.
"Okay then what are you doing now ? " He asked again this time his face was less stern .
"I'm a police officer sir " I replied , I gained a little confidence .
"And your parents ? Where are they ? " He asked again with curiosity ..
"He is a businessman, he owns a pharmaceutical company Healthy life Medicare " I replied looking at him ..
"I heard about it, then why did you choose being a police ? " He asked again ..
"I wanted to do something of my own " I replied and he hummed ..
His investigation carried on for half and hour and I politely or I should say cautiously replied everything .
Finally she and her mother came out carrying trays in their hand ..
"Enough with your interrogation honey , he must be tired " her mom told her dad sitting beside me and handing over me a cup ..
"Thank you Aunty " I replied looking at Nancy but I hastily removed my eyes .
"Start calling me Mom dear " she said to me and I smiled ..
But his dad's gaze again fixed on me .

I loved her mom , she was just like my mother sweet and cheerful .
"How is parents ? " She asked .
"They are good " I replied sipping coffee ..
"Where are you staying then " she asked again .
"I'll book a hotel room " I replied .
"No son you can stay here , it's your home " she replied with a smile ..
"It's okay aun.. sorry mom " I corrected myself in midway .
Nancy covered her mouth hiding her smile .
"You can stay here , Nia's room is vacant " his dad finally said .

My anxious heart relieved after hearing this from his mouth .
I didn't know what is going inside his head but atleast he trusted me to let me stay in his house ..
"Thank you sir " I replied .
Her mother showed me her sister's room .
"Take a shower son , I'll be sending dinner for you " she replied opening the curtains ..
For a moment she looked at me with love , she came towards me , placing her hand on my cheek ..
"I can't tell you how blissed a mother's heart feels when she saw her daughter with right man " she said gently caressing my cheek , tears were floating in her eyes ..
I held her hand in mine like promising her that I'll take care of her daughter ..

Nancy's parents room ..

"They will be flying to Spain tomorrow for their friends wedding " Mrs Wood said to her husband while entering inside the room ..
"Since when you know about their relationship " Mr Wood asked his wife as she closed the door ..
"Last year , I caught her talking with him and she told me everything " Mrs Wood replied folding clothes ..

"Why didn't she told me about this , why she hid this from me ?
Is my daughter don't believe in his dad " Mr Wood asked Mrs Wood as this thought was knocking his head again and again .
"No David , she was not hiding anything from you , she only wanted to tell you everything at right time " Mrs Wood replied sitting beside his husband placing her hand on his hand .
"Don't misunderstand your daughter, she loves you more than me " she added with a smile trying to erase all the queries from his husband's mind ..
Mr Wood smiled back ..
"Did he have his dinner ? " He asked.
"I asked Nancy to take his dinner to room " she replied .
"Okay " Mr Wood replied and remained calm for a while ..
"His father is a renowned businessman still he opted another occupation , isn't it weird ? " he asked again.

This sudden appearance of someone else in his daughter's life was disturbing him .

"He wanted to help his friend during school time and that time his dad placed a condition that he will help them only when his son won't dependent on his wealth " She recited the whole story her daughter told her ..
"Is their any personal grudges going on in their family " he asked ..
"No honey ,he is their only son and they loves him very much even they love our Nancy too " She replied grinning ..
"Give your mind a rest and have trust in your daughter she chose a right man for herself , this your love your daughter arising so many worries for her future " she replied ..
"A father's tears and fears are unseen ,
his love is unexpressed,
But his care and protection remains as a pillar of strength throughout our lives "...❤️
