INT. GOAT MAN'S HOUSE – DAY

GINA, CONNER, and LUCY stand in a circle and Lucy writes in the codex feverishly. Gina looks uncertain and Conner is confused.

GINA CONT'D: You really think something will happen?

LUCY: Absolutely. You two are the only ones with the goat marks. So, you have to do a gathering of sorts in order to get Lilith's attention.

CONNER: I'm not too sure about this. I was just at Roch's office with Belinda and this whole thing seems super sketchy. The only thing that should be sketchy is my map. Also, side note. How big do you think the forest is?

LUCY: We'll be fine. Lilith is only trying to help us.

GINA: So, what do I do?

LUCY: Be a leader. Talk about how great Goat Man is something or something.

GINA: Okay? (Clears throat) Goat Man is a guy that people wouldn't want to mess with.

Gina continues to rattle on with her impromptu speech, oblivious to Conner and Lucy.

CONNER CONT'D (mutters): No answer on my question? Thanks guys.

LUCY (hisses): What has been up with you lately?

CONNER: With me? What about you? You've been the one obsessing about Lilith lately. I had to help Belinda on my own. You were the one that made a huge fuss about her health and now I was left alone as I tried to make her stop obsessing over this whole thing.

GINA: Uh... Goat Man is a cool fellow.

LUCY: Well, I appreciate that–

CONNER: Your roles have changed. Now you're being obsessive and losing sleep. Just look at you. You look like death.

LUCY: Conner, I'm not going to argue about this.

The creaking of the door silences the children and QUIET MYSTIC appears. She approaches them with a large smile. She walks up to Gina and analyzes her mark.

QUIET MYSTIC CONT'D: A blessed day. A proper gathering under the mark! The infinite knowledge. The edge of reason. Truly, we can bring humanity together. We will be blessed. An altar! An altar is appropriate! One must be created, and I shall help. What creativity. What devotion to craft! The things that can be created. The things we shall see... emerge.

LUCY: I knew she would come.

GINA: What are you going to do, Lilith?

QUIET MYSTIC: Where will imagination take us? What will we discover beyond the edges of our knowledge? We shall unite the world under our beautiful creations. But first, an altar. Prepared by me, for you have already worked so hard.

CONNER: Uh...

LUCY: Thank you so mu–

QUIET MYSTIC: Such advanced techniques will be...tiring. I will work diligently but I can make no promises. This will take time, time I ask you to give me. But let us stay quiet. The empty eyes should never fall upon us in this crucial moment.

Quiet Mystic leaves and Gina and Conner are confused. Lucy excitedly writes down the information in the codex. The ground begins to shake.

EXT. FOREST – FOGGY

The ground shakes violently and MIN holds onto a tree. JORDANIA looks at them in uncertainty.

MIN CONT'D: Okay, so we did all the damn... whatever the hell this is. How do we stop this?

JORDANIA: Everyone is waiting at the places that Lilith has appeared.

MIN: We're in the forest, the goat group is in Goat Man's house, and the machine group is near the robot.

JORDANIA: Isn't there supposed to be more of us in the void group?

MIN: Lucy left to who knows where.

JORDANIA: Didn't Randi have the same mark as us?

MIN: No, it was some kind of special mark. Anyways Randi didn't want to have anything to do with all this.

JORDANIA: Ah, Randi really hated the cult stuff so that explains a lot...

They turn their head to the sound of someone approaching.

JORDANIA: What the hell, wasn't she just here?

EXT. FIELD – DAY

BELINDA, NANCY, VANESSA, and ERLE look straight ahead in shock.

ERLE CONT'D: How is she in three places at once? The others are saying she was just in the forest.

The screen splits into three.

EXT. FOREST – FOGGY

QUIET MYSTIC stands in front of LUCY, GINA, and CONNER.

INT. GOAT MAN'S HOUSE – DAY

QUIET MYSTIC stands in front of MIN, and JORDANIA.

EXT. FIELD – DAY

QUIET MYSTIC stands in front of BELINDA, and ERLE.

All three versions of her speak in unison as the children cower. She has brought sheets with ritual circles for each location and lays them on the ground.

QUIET MYSTIC CONT'D: We have nearly reached the end. The altar has almost been constructed. There is a final need. The assistance of another. One from the outside. With a particular...passionate soul. They can be the beginning. We will simply need for their soul to...wander. I believe their name is... Roch. It is, of course, the choice of the path and only the path. I shall return to hear your verdict when the altar is complete. The passionate soul of Roch. We can't move forward at such a cost.

In unison, all the versions of Quiet Mystic lay down a box. All the children chatter in nervousness. Quiet Mystic leaves again, leaving the children to deliberate.

EXT. FIELD – DAY

ERLE: No way are we sacrificing Roch.

BELINDA: Agreed.

NANCY: What will happen if we don't sacrifice him?

VANESSA: Better question. Should I even vote? I'm not even a machine person.

INT. GOAT MAN'S HOUSE – DAY

LUCY: We have to sacrifice him.

GINA: Are you crazy?

LUCY: It's the only way for this earthquake to stop happening, I think. Plus Lilith has been helping us the whole time. Don't you think we can trust her?

CONNER: Absolutely not.

GINA: We should talk about this.

LUCY: I already made up my mind.

Lucy scribbles on a piece of paper before inserting it into the box. The paper shines red as it enters the slot.

IN: That was easy to choose.

JORDANIA: Hm. I hope this won't go too badly...

Jordania and Min place their votes into the box. Their box begins to shine red.

QUIET MYSTIC appears again with a large smile.

QUIET MYSTIC CONT'D: For those who began, the first answer... An agreement...for the soul... Very good.

She vanishes. Jordania and Min look at each other in uncertainty.

JORDANIA CONT'D: That doesn't seem good.

MIN: What did you vote?

JORDANIA: To sacrifice him of course.

MIN: I didn't vote to sacrifice him.

JORDANIA: What about Lucy?

MIN: That... I have no idea. I think our vote caused something.

JORDANIA: This should be interesting?

EXT. DARK ALLEYWAY – EVENING

ROCH approaches the alleyway hesitantly. He begins to talk to QUIET MYSTIC, not knowing it is her.

ROCH CONT'D: Are you the one I'm supposed to meet? The city has been shaking. I'm afraid we don't have much time left.

QUIET MYSTIC: You have said there is information about illegal activity. Speak more about this.

ROCH: They're trying to fully revive an ancient deity. It was partially successful in the past but he's not at full power. He must be stopped or else the world may fall into ruins.

QUIET MYSTIC: Are you sure? It sounds outlandish.

Quiet Mystic attacks Roch and they struggle.

ROCH CONT'D: Get off me! What is this?

Quiet mystic takes out a syringe and sedates him.

ROCH CONT'D: What is that? Please I...

His vision gets blurry and colours begin to swirl and fade.

EXT. FOREST – CONTINUOUS

ROCH's vision clears and he sees many children huddled around him. LUCY is standing over him with a knife in her hand and QUIET MYSTIC watches in a distance.

ROCH CONT'D: Who are these people? What is this place? These drawings? You think it will save you, but it won't. It's a lie. It's a lie. ...I'm sorry...Isabel

Lucy raises the knife. The sound of lightning strikes.
