Blast from the Past
In the moonlit terrace of a towering structure, Jerald meticulously sketches a circle—a summoning circle. Placing his palm upon it, he utters, "Summon." Miraculously, a door materializes within the circle, swinging open from within. Out steps a lean, well-built man with long black hair tied in a bun, donning a lengthy hoodie, its buttons undone, revealing his bare torso. He emerges, inhaling deeply, then strides toward the railing, leaping atop it. Standing poised, he stretches his arm out and gazes down upon the city of Elysium, a silent observer of its nocturnal beauty.
"It's been so long since I've been to Elysium, my home," says the man, a tear slipping from his eye.
"Are you alright, Lucus?" Jerald's voice broke through the silence, concern evident in his tone.
Lucus paused, his gaze fixed on the familiar skyline of Elysium. "Yes, I'm fine. It's just... overwhelming, seeing Elysium again after all this time," he admitted softly.
Jerald observed Lucus silently.
As Lucus looked up at the sky, a solemn resolve washed over him. "You lost Daemon, and I really wanted you to win. Now it's my turn," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Let's break Jasper out of prison before someone spots us," Jerald suggested, eager to shift their focus.
Lucus turned towards him with a determined expression.
"There's a change in plans," he declared, his voice firm as he leaped down from the railing.
Confusion flickered across Jerald's face. "The plan was to break Jasper out, so he could join us. That's why you're here," he reminded Lucus, trying to make sense of the sudden shift.
Lucus met his gaze squarely. "Of course, that part of the plan remains unchanged. But there's one addition," he explained cryptically.
Jerald's eyes widened in shock as he struggled to comprehend Lucus's revelation. "What is it?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
A figure emerged from the door, catching Jerald's attention.
"Hello, Jerald! How are you?" greeted the woman, her voice smooth and composed. She was clad in a sleek black dress, her skin sporting an unnatural bluish tint, almost as if it had been painted. Dark blue mascara accentuated her eyes, and her long black hair cascaded untied down her back.
Following closely behind her was a massive bald man, towering over her in both height and width. His presence exuded an aura of intimidation.
Bringing up the rear was a mysterious figure, masked and hooded, their identity concealed from view. Their quiet demeanor added an air of intrigue to the group's arrival.
"Evengilena? What's going on, Lucas?" Jerald's voice was filled with confusion as he addressed the woman.
"Calm down, Jerald. It seems for now our goals and theirs align," Lucus reassured, his tone steady.
"How so?" Jerald pressed, still trying to make sense of the situation.
"Evengilena is here to destroy her research related to Pluton. It's beneficial for us as well. We can't allow something like Pluton to be created again," Lucus explained, his voice tinged with urgency.
Jerald paused, digesting the information. The gravity of their shared mission began to sink in.
"And our masked friend?Who is he?" Jerald inquired cautiously.
Lucas's expression darkened slightly. "They're here to kill Draken Emberforge," he revealed, his words hanging heavy in the air.
Shock registered on Jerald's face, evident for all to see.
"Do you really think you can just walk in and kill Draken? That easily?" Jerald's skepticism echoed in the air as he questioned the masked figure.
"Draken will not fight against me once he knows who I am," replied the masked person, their voice unexpectedly feminine, yet filled with conviction.
"Jerald, I will go to the prison and break Jasper, you go with..." Lucas pauses, his gaze shifting to the masked person.
"It's Emilia," the masked person interjects, offering their name.
"Seriously, Lucus? We don't even know their name, and we're teaming up with them?" Jerald's skepticism is palpable in his tone.
"Don't worry, Jerald. Your job is just to show her the way to Emberforge Tower. If things escalate, leave her and pull back," Lucus reassures, his voice firm.
Jerald's dissatisfaction is evident from his expression, but he reluctantly nods in agreement.
"So heartless," Evengilena chuckles softly. "Emilia, dear, Vajra and I will be going to Alaric's. Let's meet back here," she suggests, before turning to leave.
And with that, the terrace falls silent once more, as the group disperses to carry out their respective tasks.
In the dimly lit prison cell, Jasper sits bound. Suddenly, he notices the shadow of the prison door shifting, morphing into the unmistakable form of a man. The figure stands upright, casting a commanding presence in the confined space. Jasper's heart skips a beat as recognition dawns upon him.
"Master Lucus," Jasper utters, his voice a mixture of relief and reverence, as he looks up at the familiar silhouette before him.
Lucus swiftly unlocks all the binds restraining Jasper, allowing him to move freely. Without hesitation, Jasper rushes forward and envelops Lucus in a heartfelt embrace.
"Thank you for saving me, Master Lucus," Jasper expresses his gratitude, his voice filled with emotion.
Lucus returns the embrace, a sense of pride evident in his eyes as he gazes at Jasper. "I am very proud of what you have become, Jasper," he says warmly, his voice tinged with sincerity and admiration.
"What were you up to all these years? And..." Jasper's voice faltered, his eyes searching Lucas's face. "Why did you do it? Why did you kill them? Your own family. I know you must have had reasons, but..."
Lucas met Jasper's gaze with a solemn expression. "I will tell you everything," he said softly. "But for now, we have other matters to attend to."
As Lucas spoke, a mysterious energy enveloped them, casting their shadows into a swirling vortex beneath their feet. Without another word, they vanished into the depths of the shadow
