[6] Fallen angel
[Outfit Above]
S5 Ep: 8 "Coda"
Once Glenn, Tara, and Rosita came back with the water we came up with a plan to turn around and head back to the church where everyone last was. Surprisingly Abraham didn't fight us on it, he agreed without an issue, so we set off in the firetruck miles backwards. We didn't reach the church until the next morning and we luckily got there in time to save their asses.
Abraham kept driving straight through the stairs to the church blocking the walkers from getting out, he turned off the engine and we all climbed out. Michonne and I instantly hugged each other tightly both filled with relief. "You guys okay?" I asked while looking over her shoulder at Carl who offered me a nod as Michonne answered. "Yeah."
We pulled away and she greeted Glenn next with a breathy smile. "You're back." Glenn gulped "Eugene lied. He can't stop it. Washington isn't the end." From beside him I looked around once more trying to see where my best friend was but still not finding her. "Where is everyone?" Michonne smiled and looked over at me knowingly.
"Beth's alive. She's in a hospital in Atlanta. Some people have her, but the others went to get her back." I couldn't help but smile at the joy of finding out the girl I saw as a little sister was alive. "Which one?" I asked, excited to get there. "Grady Memorial." She answered and backed up as Glenn pulled me into a hug.
I laughed breathlessly and blinked back tears of joy. "Let's blow this joint, go help save your sister." Tara said with a grin as she pointedly called Beth my sister knowing full well she wasn't actually. With that we all climbed into the truck and drove off back towards Atlanta, the once city Glenn and I swore we would never go again...but it's for Beth. And I could do this for her.

We pulled up out front of the hospital and waited in silence. When a gunshot went off from somewhere inside the hospital I grabbed onto Glenn's arm nervously. We watched as they all came out in heaps of emotion, it didn't hit me until I saw Maggie clutching onto Sasha. When her blue eyes looked up and met mine she dashed towards me, we each instantly wrapped our arms around the other and I understood.
Beth didn't make it. The sweet, innocent, shy girl who always begged me to do her hair was gone. I looked up over Maggie's shoulder and watched as Daryl trudged forward with Beth's limp body in his arms, my breath hitched as the sight of her almost peaceful expression. If it weren't for the blood splatter from the gunshot to her head you would think she was asleep.
Maggie and I both crumbled to the ground wrapped in each other's arms crying over our fallen family. The brunette wailed into my shoulder and I felt another set of arms wrap around both of us from behind, keeping us steady as we mourned the younger girl.
