Shu stared outside the window of the cafe. His boyfriend was sitting right in front of him with a mug of hot chocolate in his hands. It was getting cold and soon it will be winter, Shu's favorite season. It reminded him a lot of Lui. Cold but still beautiful just like Lui's heart. Shu smiled at the thought. Lui looked at Shu placing the mug on the table crossing his arms. "What are you thinking snowflake?"

Shu blinked as he came back to his senses. "Huh?...Uhm nothing"

Lui smirked. "You can't lie to me and you know that. You're thinking about me, aren't you?"

Shu pouts leaning back to his chair. "Then why are you asking?"

"It's amusing to see you frustrated" Lui said as Shu huffed silently taking the mug to his hands. He took a sip and put it down. Lui snorted seeing the cream on the upper lip of Shu. "You look exactly like Santa Claus now"

Shu frowned. "What do you mean?"

"You've got cream here" Lui said pointing at his upper lip. Shu was about to wipe it away when Lui stopped him. "Wait"

Shu watched as Lui leaned across the table. Shu's eyes fluttered close as their lips met. No matter how many times he kissed Lui, his heart starts hammering in his chest each time. And the butterflies inside his stomach goes haywire with the excitement. Finally, Lui pulled away. "That way is better than wiping down. We don't need tissues" Lui said as a matter of fact. Shu averted his eyes ducking his head ever so slightly to hide his burning cheeks from Lui.

Lui smiled. "I can see that you're blushing snowflake"

Shu squeaked sinking down on his chair. "Not my fault"

"I can't believe we are chilling inside a cafe when we have our final match tomorrow. If we were still enemies we both might be training the whole day" 

Shu hummed in response placing his chin on the palm of his hand. "Come to think of it, we changed a lot. You changed a lot" Shu said turning to his boyfriend. "I like the change"

Lui smiled. "I like the change too. So, excited about the match tomorrow?"

Shu nodded. "Spryzen and I gonna win this time."

"Hah.. in your dream Longinus and I are the winners"

Shu chuckled. "Let's see"

Lui turned around and opened his bag looking for something then he took out something wrapped in a pink colour paper. He placed it in front of Shu. "Here, since you are my lucky charm I thought you might be needing something too"

Shu took the gift as he unwrapped it slowly, to reveal a bracelet with pink and black beads. Shu stared at it for a second then turned around without a word, fishing out an identical gift and placed it front of Lui. Lui raised his brow seeing a bracelet just like the one he gave to Shu, instead of pink the beads were blue. 

"Coincidence?" Shu said taking his one and trying it on.

"I don't think so" Lui said as he continued. "Besides the lady told me that these bracelet comes in pairs and the other one was taken by another boy just few minutes ago." 

Shu smiled. "Probably me and she told me these means true love and if two lovers have them, they'll never break apart"

Lui clicked his tongue. 'You believe these stuff?"

"I don't, but I believe in our love so... it's kinda the same thing" 

They finished their drinks and paid. Both stepped out to the icy cold streets in Beigoma. Shu shivered. "Wow, it's getting colder"

Lui nodded as they walked to the apartments. It had been few months after all the drama. Everything was fine and the nationals had been exciting for everyone. And this year the last two to get selected to the final round was Shu and Lui. Everyone was excited to see the game. In other times both of them acted like pure enemies. But after this drastic change everyone wanted to see how they'll face the last match. 

They finally reached Shu's apartment. The lights were on. Shu and his parents lived together and Shu was overly ecstatic about that. He finally felt like a family. Lui turned to Shu as they reached the door. "Well...see you tomorrow snowflake, and gimme your best tomorrow. I'm counting on you"

Shu nodded. "I always give my best. And besides I won't hold back just because you are my boyfriend"

"Good" Lui said leaning in and brushing their lips together. With another good bye both of them parted ways. Shu walked inside closing the door behind him. He took off his shoes as he said. "I'm home"

His father looked from his work. "How's your date?"

Shu smiled. "Do I have to say it?"

Mr. Kurenai smiled. "Let me guess, amazing? Totally outstanding?"

Shu chuckled. "Both"

Shu walked to his room thinking about the next day. A match with Lui. It was the first time he felt relaxed before a match specially when he was battling Lui. He took out Spryzen and stared it for a good long seconds. "Let's give our best okay?"

The bey twinkled in response. Shu put it on the table beside his bed as a familiar woof came from the nearby closet. Shu chuckled as the pup ran over to him and jumped to his lap licking his face all over. "Sharkie calm down, stop, it tickles"

The pup stopped and stared at him with his big brown eyes. "Woof"

Shu wrapped his arms around the pup plopping both of them to the bed curling in for warmth. "I have many sharkies and still I can't get enough of any of you"

The day went quietly. Shu woke up as the dawn broke through the east. He turned to his side to see his pup still fast asleep curling on his stomach. He petted it and leaned down to place a kiss on the soft fur of the pet. A sudden beep sound distracted him. Shu opened his phone to see a message from Lui. He almost chocked on air when he read it. 

Sharkie: Don't kiss that dog

You: What the hell....

Sharkie: Hah.. you were trying to kiss it, don't ya?

You: Great... now you stalk me?

Sharkie: I want my morning kiss, but BEFORE THAT DOG

Shu chuckled for himself picturing Lui with his phone and a furious look on his face. 

You: Fine... I'll see you in the WBBA

Sharkie: Good and DON'T KISS THAT DOG

You: Okay fine... now go and get ready. Don't be late for the match

Shu put his phone away stretching his arms. He put on his usual outfit and went downstairs to see his mom and dad dressed as if to go somewhere. Shu frowned. "You two going somewhere?"

Shu's mom smiled. "Of course, we are headed to watch the finals"

Shu's eyes widen. It would be the first time that his parents would come to watch the matches. "Are you sure?"

His dad chuckled ruffling his hair. "Of course. We missed many matches of you and not gonna miss this one"

Shu nodded smiling. This would probably the best day in his life. They put on their jackets and stepped outside and got into their car. Shu leaned his head against the window. "Feeling nervous?" His dad asked taking a turn.

"Kind of, but not like the other times" Shu answered.

"Even if you win or loose it doesn't matter Shu" His mom said looking at him. "For us you're already a winner"

"But you can still win" his dad interrupted hastily. Shu watched as his mom smacked his arm slightly. 

"You always ruin the atmosphere"

Shu nodded. "Yep, dad always ruin it"

The three burst out in laughing. And in no time they were already at the WBBA building. Shu hopped outside of the car. His parents gave him a good luck kiss as he head to the waiting area. He spotted Lui standing near the entrance, his arms crossed and he stared at his bey. Shu walked to him silently and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Good morning"

Lui smiled. "Good morning snowflake" He stared at Shu from up to down. He was wearing black pants and over it was a black jacket with fluffy fur on the rim of the wrists and around his neck. "Is it that cold for you?"

Shu nodded rubbing his hands. "It's cold besides I love this jacket"

Lui smiled squeezing his cheeks. "You look like a kitten". Then he leaned down placing a quick peck on his soft lips.

"Eww gross go take a room you two" Honcho said crossing his arms.

The beyclub followed close by. Shu turned around as he saw Xander arriving with Zac. "You two are rivals for the today battle, you guys know that right?"

Lui smirked. "Of course, but that's when it comes to beyblade but in my life he's my boyfriend, so I do whatever I want"

Shu pouts. "You can't do whatever you want"

Lui raised his brow. "Wanna bet?"

"No thanks" Shu said putting up his hands in defense when Shinki spoke coming out from nowhere. 

"Use protection when you do that"

Shu went bright red. "I don't know what are you talking about" He muttered trying to slip away. Xander and the beyclub howled in laughter at the frustration of the albino. Zac was the one who broke the chaotic atmosphere.

"Anyway, both of you, show a good battle fot us today. We're waiting for it"

Both of them nodded giving them a determined look. And at last they were called. Everyone went to their seats waiting to start as Hanami introduced the two.

"In the blue corner we have Shirasagi Lui, who had won the championship for four times in a row. This white tyrant is merciless" He said as Lui appeared from the blue side and walked to the stadium. 

"On the red corner we have the angel boy, Kurenai Shu, the owner of ultimate legend Spryzen and the amazing spin emperor"

Both of them walked to the either sides of the bey stadium. This time there was no hatred behind any of those eyes. It was only a burning passion to give their best for the sake of the other. After the countdown the beys collided over and over with ultimate power. The blinding light made it clear that both beys are filled with immense power. The first to score was Lui who burst Spryzen earning two points. The second match was in favour to Shu as he burst Longinus and earned two points. Both of them were head to head. 

Lui looked at Shu and smirked. "You indeed have grown Snowflake"

Shu smiled loading his bey. "Once a person told me I rise through ashes like a phoenix and that's what I exactly do"

They got to their stance for the third match. The countdown began and the two launched their beys. Spryzen picked up the pace and raced to the middle of the stadium. Longinus was the first one to attack. 

"Crush it" Lui yelled as Longinus kept up the chain of attacks not giving Spryzen enough space to move. Shu bit his bottom lip then yelled. 

"Now Spryzen, Upper launch"

Spryzen picked up the speed as Lui threw a hand on the air. "Longinus nightmare shoot"

The two beasts rose from their beys and clashed. Shu shield his face to protect himself from the blinding light. Lui did the same and then Spryzen burst into three pieces, right after a second Longinus burst. It was a close match. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. Shu sighed kneeling down as he picked up the pieces of his bey. He felt someone kneeling in front of him, Shu looked up to see Lui extending his hand to him. Shu smiled. This time there were no scars, and there were no broken beys, no broken hearts, there was only a hand helping him up to stand straight. And for all Shu knew that this hand will help him all along in his life.

Shu took his hand as Lui pushed him up. "That was one hell of a game Snowflake, I put all my strength to it. You are the best opponent I have met so far"

Shu smiled. "Next time, you'll have to train more harder. Spryzen and I still got lot to show you"

Lui nodded tangling their hands together. The whole crowd was cheering for them, both of them. Most of them was on their feet. Shu saw his dad giving him a thumbs up. "All right folks"Hanami announced. "For the fifth time Shirasagi Lui win the championship, CONGRATULATIONS"

Shu leaned down to Lui's ear. "Congrats" Lui frowned. "No kisses?"

Shu shook his head. "Nah...I'm depressed, I lost again"

Lui blinked in confusion and was about to say sorry when Shu chuckled. "I'm just kidding, I'm happy for you, and besides no kissing when the whole audience is gaping at us"

The two walked outside hand in hand to see their friends and family waiting for them. "Congrats son" Mr. Shirasagi said as Mr. Kurenai walked to the pair. "Yeah congrats Lui, and Shu you did amazing. From now on I'm not missing your matches. It's exciting"

Shu smiled. "Promise?"

His mom ruffled his hair confirming him. "Promise"

They all went to a restaurant to take lunch. The day was exhausting to both of them. They parted their ways and said goodbye. Shu took a quick shower and went to him bed when he heard his mom calling. He went down the stairs to see Lui waiting for him. "Lui?" Shu said raising his brow.

"Snowflake, I wanna show something. Wanna join me?"

Shu looked at his parents. They nodded. Shu grabbed his jacket as Lui led him out of the house. "Where are we going?"

Lui pecked his cheek. "Trust me, you'll love it"

"But it's getting dark" Shu complained when Lui smiled.

"It's a part of the plan"

They fell into silence. It was not awkward. No matter whether they were talking or not both of them loved each other's presence. Sometimes just being quiet with each other spoke the most of the words they haven't even thought of. Shu made a surprised squeak when they reached the beach. It was beautiful. The sun was almost set, the sky was flamboyant with different shades of orange and crimson lighting up the horizon. Shu had seen this scenery many times, and the more he saw, the more livelier and alluring it became.  

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Lui asked looking at the awed face of his boyfriend. 

"Yeah" Shu's voice came out as a whisper. 

"Snowflake, wait here, I've got somethings to set" Lui said as Shu pouts.

"It's getting dark"

"Don't worry, the light will come soon" With that Lui left leaving a confused Shu at the beach. Shu sat down looking at the last rays of the sun as it slowly disappeared into the horizons. Shu thought about his love life. Many things happened and he remembered how much he had changed in this few months. Lui changed him. He smiled drawing his knees to his chest placing his chin on them. He gazed at the sea, it was dark he could barely make out the water but he can perfectly hear the clash of the waves which was almost music to his ears. Shu wait for few more minutes. "Where is he?" He thought getting up and walking to the side Lui walked. 

"Woof" 

Shu quickly recognized the voice. "Sharkie?" He said as the pup ran to him. Shu picked it up to see a letter dangling around his neck. He frowned opening it to see a message. 

Follow along the candles, the surprise awaits you, Snowflake

Shu frowned hugging the pup tight. That's when he saw a tiny light. He walked toward it to see a candle just like the letter said. He walked along to see a path light up with candles. There was hundreds of them. Shu watched mesmerized by the beauty around the place. He followed the candle lights and finally reached a place. It was surrounded by candles in a circle. Shu stepped to the middle when a rain of rose petals surprised him. 

"Like it?" A voice called. Shu turned around to see Lui standing behind him.

"It's beautiful" Shu said still looking around the place. 

Lui walked to him and cupped his face making the albino face him. Shu looked at the brilliant violet eyes he fell in love with. Lui pulled out something from his pocket. It was a ring. Shu blinked as Lui took his hand slipping the silver ring to his finger. "It's a promise ring" Lui talked as Shu looked at him. Lui kissed his hand lightly. "One day till I make you mine completely, this will hold my promise to be by your side. Snowflake, trust me when I say this I'll be right here by your side no matter how much harder your life gets. No matter how much come against you if you want someone to believe you, I'll be there. It's a promise"

Shu stared at his boyfriend as he leaned in and locked their lips together to share a kiss. Shu's heart was storming with thousands of emotions. He felt Lui's hands around his waist pulling him closer Shu placed his hands on the other's chest kissing him back. After a moment both pulled away. Shu looked at the ring in his hand. "Lui, I can't believe how much far we came. From enemies to friends then to lovers. But I'm happy the way we are now. I didn't realize when I started loving you but seems like it was always a thought that I had in my mind"

Lui looked at the mesmerizing red eyes of his lover. He always felt like that the whole world is inside them, like it held deep secrets that no one have access to. But Lui broke all the barriers and touched the deepest secrets Shu hid behind hie walls. Lui smiled. "I fell in love with your eyes" He said making Shu look up. "The first day when you were standing at the other side of the stadium I saw this spark on them lighting up at each second. I fell in love with your passion snowflake, I love every single thing about you guess at first I was frustrated by my own thoughts and emotions" Lui said trailing his hand to the scar.

Shu placed his hand over Lui's. "This scar is not something to be hurt anymore. It's a sign to show the world how strong I am. "

Lui smiled. "Let's go, it's dark"

Shu nodded. Glancing at the sea for one last time. The cold wind swept through them, as if it was also celebrating their eternal love. "Wanna stay at my place today?"

Lui smirked. "Of course"

Shu giggled punching his arm playfully. "Keep your dirty thoughts at the bay"

They walked to Shu's place. His mom and dad smiled at them as the pair walked toward their room. Lui plopped down on the bed. "It's a long day"

Shu hummed laying beside him, curling to Lui for warmth. "But I love each second of it"

Lui pulled the cover over them placing his chin over his lover's hair as he wrapped his arms around the waist of Shu. Shu snuggled to him whispering. "I love you Lui"

"Love you too snowflake" Lui whispered back pressing a light kiss on his forehead. 

Many people say that true love is hard to find but when you find it you'll never let it go. Many will think that it's fate or destiny that brought them together. But as they like to say it's true love what brought them together. There are many things in this world. Some people don't believe in love but no matter who we are, when we found the right person we fall for them without even knowing that we fell. The most beautiful things in this world can't be touched, they should be felt by the heart. 

Love is not about merely loving someone for their looks. It's something exquisite  and fathomless. True love is loving the person for who they are. Even the flaws and the imperfections becomes beauty. The smallest habits of them make you happy when you're in love. It's like the your whole world revolve around them. Just like Lui and Shu. Their hearts are connected, many will not believe in this. But I think...

Love is magic, and that true love stories have no end.
