Lui held his gaze for few long minutes. Shu couldn't take the silence overtaking the room. He tried to pull away from the strong grip of the boy beside him. But it only got tight with each attempt. Kazuki talked. "Why Lui? Is it hard to believe it?"

Lui gritted his teeth clenching his fists. "Shut up"

Shu turned to Lui. "Lui, trust me this is not true. I-"

But Lui stopped him raising his hand. He looked fed up from everything. "Enough" He said clasping his hands together. "Enough of your lies Shu"

Shu's eyes widen he automatically took a step back processing the words of the other. Does Lui believe Kazuki? "L-Lui what are you?"

Kazuki kissed Shu's cheek which the latter took by surprise. "Now it's only you and me sweetheart."

Shu pushed him away. "Shut up. Stop lying. " He turned to Lui helplessly. "Don't believe him"

Lui didn't speak another word. He turned around and storm off. Shu took a step forward trying to follow him. But behind him Kazuki took his hand and trapped the albino within his arms. He stared into the piercing crimson orbs of the blader. Shu tried to push Kazuki away. "Leave me alone."

Kazuki actually let go of him this time. Shu didn't take a minute as he ran outside of the room looking for Lui. On his way he bumped into Gou who looked confused. "Gou, where is he? Where is Lui?"

He blinked. "I was about to ask you something. Did something happen between you two? He stormed off completely pissed"

Shu didn't answer him. He raced to his locker and took his bag and started running outside of the school. After a while he saw the familiar figure of the dragon blader. Shu hesitated for a moment pacing back and forth. Then he gather up his courage and walked to the dragon blader. "Lui" Shu called out. Lui didn't stop he kept walking. Shu bit his lip and ran to him ans stood in front of him.

Lui gave him a blank look. "Get out of my way"

"Lui listen to me, you can't trust him. He's lying he's not telling the truth" Shu pleaded. 

"Oh yeah, Who do you think I am? Do you think I am that dumb not to notice everything. I saw the way you two got closer these few days. I am not blind" Lui yelled. 

Shu flinched. "It's not true" His voice was hoarse in the verge of breaking down. "I-I didn't do anything"

Lui gave the albino a crossed look. "Out of my way. This is over we're strangers now and I don't know who the hell are you" He said storming off. 

Shu stayed there frozen to the ground. The tears which was stuck in his eyes started to flow down his cheeks. Lui's words repeated like a broken record. It was over he said. Shu broke into a run. Even though his house was far away from the place he was he didn't take a bus he ran all the way not daring to stop for a second. He felt his lungs burning from the lack of air. His legs started to get wobbly. But nothing stopped him when he reached his apartment he shuffled through his keys and opened the door as soon as he stepped inside his knees gave up underneath him. He sank down to the floor. He was panting and sobbing at the same time. His voice was hoarse and his eyes was burning with all the tears. He clutched the fabric of his shirt tightly. He placed his head against the door staring for a few seconds. He needed something to distract him or else he would just end up killing himself. Shu got up even though his body screamed him to stop. His legs were killing him he dragged his feet forcefully to the bathroom and opened the shower. He didn't even bother taking off his clothes. He wasn't in his right mind. He just stared at the wall the water drained his clothes as a whole. He pressed his back against the icy cold wall and sank down.

"W-why?" He asked from himself. "I trust him from my whole heart" His tears fell down mixing with the water. His mind wandered to the sink where normally the blades rests. He got up and walked toward it. He reached one of his hands then stopped midway. He hesitated. His mind was wavering between two decisions. At last he took it. He studied the smooth and sharp edges of it. "I'm sorry" He said to himself. "I wants some distraction. It hurts. It stings, my heart" He whispered but no one was there to hear him. He ran the blade on his smooth pale skin. It cut right through drawing out a thin line of crimson blood. Shu stared as two drops of the red liquid fell to the floor. 

Surprisingly there was no pain. Everything was numb nothing was working. He continued until he started to feel dizzy. The male got frustrated and threw away the blade. He stared at the red lines of his wrists. He cried louder clutching his heart. Lui is his everything. And the words his told was like just stabbing him repeatedly with a knife. Shu closed the shower and took a one last long breath. And stepped out. He found a roll of bandages and wrapped it around his wrists and changed his clothes. He ignored the messages he got from his concerned friends who would have sensed that something fishy is going on. He pushed himself toward the bed and lay down to get a good sleep at least try. He wanted a break. A break from the reality and the truth. He wanted all this to be a one cruel nightmare. He lay down hoping maybe tomorrow would be a better day or at least he would wake up from this nightmare. 

End of the warning

Lui stormed to his house. He didn't greet his mom as he normally does he just went straight to his room and slammed the door behind him. One thing Lui hated most in his life was crying. And now he couldn't stop the tears flowing down his cheeks. "Why?" He yelled out throwing away his bag. "I loved him with all my heart so why dammit"

He stared outside of his window as he pressed his forehead to the clear glass. 

Flashback

One of Lui's classmates ran to him . "Oi Lui did you break up with Shu?"

Lui blinked. "What the... No"

The boy frowned. "You sure? Then what's this?"

He showed him a picture of Shu and Kazuki in the ice rink after he left. Shu's cheeks were red either from the coldness or from the other boy who was holding him. Lui gritted his teeth and pushed away the boy. "It's a fake one"

"Are you sure?" The boy said smirking. He walked away.

End of the flashback

And after the very same day he found Shu kissing Kazuki. He felt betrayed like someone just broke his heart to few little pieces. He grabbed his bey. The one thing that helped him to get away from all his disturbing thoughts. He stepped put of his room and walked straight to the bey park. To his pleasure the whole place was empty. He started practicing letting out all his emotions to this single game. Hours passed he didn't care he kept practicing until he felt like passing out in exhaustion. He walked to his house. His anger was boiling inside of him. He got changed and went straight to bed and lay down. He also had the same wish for all of this to be a nightmare. 

The next morning Shu felt like shit. He didn't sleep at all. He wrists were stinging. He had dark bags under his eyes and his eyes were red and puffy. His complexion was even more paler than usual. And the most worse thing was the nationals will start after two weeks and he hadn't practice at all and Lui was not with him. Tears threaten to fall out his eyes yet again. He changed into his black pants and instead of wearing his normal pink attire he took out a black hoodie from the closet. He needed to to cover his wrists. He didn't want to show anyone how broken he is. He skipped his breakfast and walked to school. He pulled his hood down covering his face. He kept his head low when he entered the school. 

The news of the breakup of the best couple had spread like a wildfire. Katana Shinki and Gou was the most surprised by it. They all waited by their class until the two show up. Shu was the first one to enter the room. He didn't notice the others. His friends could see the exact change of the albino. Katana was the first to approach him. "Shu" He called. Shu turned to him and gave him a forced smile muttering a simple hello. "Is it true?"

Shu knew what he was asking. He was about to answer when a familiar yet not so familiar voice growled. "Yes. We're over"

Shu flinched as he turned to the dragon blader. His soft voice was rough and it was cutting right through him. "Lui I'm sure there's no big deal" Gou said looking to the boy. He also looked like Shu. Dark bags under his eyes like he hadn't slept at all. It was clear that both of them are hurting in their own ways. 

"He cheated on me. And you're saying it's no big deal?" Lui growled. 

Shu flinched at the words. But he kept quiet he didn't want to cause anymore drama. "What?" Shinki yelled out looking at Shu. "It must surely a misunderstanding. I'm sure someone is going to break up you two"

"I have all the evidence for it." Lui yelled again.

Shu wanted to leave this place. He didn't like the tension filling the air like something big is about to happen. And a girl walked in. Someone Shu knew for long. She was after Lui for so long. She squealed after seeing Lui. "Lui-kun, Is it true that you broke up? If so want to go out with me? I'm not a cheater. I promise I'll be loyal to you unlike the others"

Shu closed his eyes. Lui firstly looked like he was about to say no. Then he threw a glance at Shu. He gave the girl his normal blank look. "Sure meet me after school"

Shu bit his lip. He heard Gou telling something to Lui. He couldn't make out the words. Lui didn't stop he kept on talking. "And don't worry, I'm not falling for cheaters again. "

Shu hung his head and walked to the door wanting to leave the place before he broke down completely. He opened the door and tried to walk out but a firm grip on his wrist stopped him. He winced at the gesture and turned to see Gou. "Don't leave Shu, Lui has no right to hurt you like this"

Shu didn't muster any words he turned his head to the male who was watching him with sympathetic eyes. Shu felt pathetic that's all he felt. Pathetic about his life pathetic about his feelings. Shu let his bangs fall over his eyes and slightly shook his head. "I-I n-need sometime alone" Shu whispered. 

Gou nodded releasing his hand. Shu made his way to the bathrooms. He looked at his reflection on the mirror. Not only he felt like shit he looked like shit. He splashed water to his face. The albino sighed wiping his face and turned around just to find Kazuki smirking at him. The older took his hand and pressed him against the wall and kissed him again. Shu didn't even have the strength to pull away from. He didn't kiss back he just stayed like that. Kazuki pulled away from him and placed his hand on the wall. "You like it don't you?"

"I'm tired of everything" Shu replied. "Why are you doing this to me?"

Kazuki smirked. "Beating you up wouldn't be the best way to break you. But hurting you this way is the best. It makes me so happy" He started to laugh out loud.

Shu sighed and rest his against the wall. "Do you love me?"

Kazuki burst out in laughing. "You? Who wants to love you? No one loves you." He leaned against Shu's ear. "I love the person that you love and that's a big mistake of yours"

Shu was dumbfounded after the sudden confession of the male. Everything made sense now. Why Kazuki hated Shu from the first place. Why Kazuki hate him so much. Shu shook his head as he watched Kazuki exited the bathroom. He sympathized him. Shu knew how much it hurt to see the person who you loves loving someone else. He blinked turning his gaze toward the floor. Maybe Kazuki wasn't the one at fault. Maybe he was the one at fault cause maybe Kazuki said he doesn't deserve anything. Specially a love like Lui's.

Gou made his way to the flame haired boy. "Lui, why did you do that?"

Lui gave him a blank stare. "She asked me out and i'm single so I said yes" The words felt bitter on his tongue. But he kept his face straight. Gou left the class knowing their wouldn't be anything he could do till the two cooled down. Lui sat down on his place staring to the pace. He remembered the first date of him and Shu. He longed for it from the previous night. He loved and still love each second of it. His smile and his excitement like a child simply Shu was all over the place that day. He thought about the date he was about to have today. He didn't long for it. He didn't want that date in first place. 

Shu sighed again looking at the mirror inside the bathroom and Lui clenched his fists thinking about the certain person who made his days brighter and now without him everything is darker. They both didn't realize the simple fact that both of them are hurting. Both of them hate being away from each other. And both of them are simply breaking apart.  They made each other a whole and without together they're broken apart just like a broken glass with shining edges which can hurt anyone and everyone.
