Few days passed. Everything was normal. Shu felt like his life is starting to be complete again. He had nothing to fear, Lui was always by his side no matter what he was going through. On the other hand Lui was also happy. It was like their love story would flow like it used to beautiful and perfect. They laughed together, joked with each other and life was perfect. But day by day Kazuki's need for attention grew stronger. He just wanted one thing. He wanted Lui and if he wanted something he wouldn't back away until he have it that's what he always thought. So he was going to make Lui his. 

Kazuki sat down on his place at the classroom glaring as he saw Lui and Shu smiling with each other. He clenched his fists and looked away as one thought burned inside his mind. "I'll make Lui mine. I won't care if it means I would've have to kill Shu"

Shu walked to the cafeteria hand in hand with Lui gazing around to spot his teammates. Shinki was yelling at the top of his lungs calling them as usual. Lui growled beside him. "Seriously that idiot needs to realize that our ears and eyes are still working better than he think"

Shu chuckled. "Don't mind it, look how happy he seem to be"

The two took seats as right on the cue Lui started yelling at each other. Shu stared at them and sighed pouting. "I only want a peaceful lunch"

"Talk about peaceful" Gou said smiling at the albino who gave a small smile in return. The day passed away like any other. 

Shu sat on his bed, his knees drawn to his chest. He was chatting with Lui when he heard the faint knock on the door. Shu tensed slightly as he quickly typed a message.

Shu: I heard someone knock the door. U think it's a ghost? 😱😱😱😱

Lui: You aren't serious right?

Shu: I am serious.

Lui: Don't answer it, just keep quiet

Shu smiled to himself. The truth was he thought that the knock was his imagination so he shook it away. Eventually sleep started to haunt Shu. He yawned to the back of his hand leaning against the bed and about to send Lui a goodnight message when he heard the door creaking. This time Shu was sure it wasn't his imagination. Then he heard low footsteps. Shu's eyes widen when he though about the possibilities. There can be many things happening. Did a thief broke in? He wondered. Shu almost had a panic attack when he thought about the men who almost kidnapped him that day but he relieved himself thinking that they are inside the jail. 

One of the steps of the staircase creaked and Shu did the only thing which came to his mind. He took the phone from his shaking hands and typed one word when a gang broke into his room. Shu dropped the phone staring at the people who just broke in. They were all wearing complete black and masks to cover their faces. "W-who are y-you all?"

One of the guys came to the front taking off his mask. Shu's eyes widen when he saw Kazuki glaring daggers at him. "K-Kazuki?" Shu said in a whisper gripping the bed sheets trying to calm his racing heart. If Kazuki was here it means something horrible is going to happen. 

Kazuki smirked walking to him. "Awww scared?"

Shu didn't answer as he tried his best to keep his cool but he couldn't. The memories of all the horrible things Kazuki did to him came haunting into his mind. Kazuki kissed him just to make Lui angry with him. How much he can do to make him hurt and broken. Shu shivered at the thought. he didn't want to think how far Kazuki would go just to hurt him. Kazuki stepped to him and pressed him to the wall peering to his face. Shu closed his eyes tightly turning his face away.

"I came to break you Shu, break you beyond repair. Nobody would be able to bring you back from your misery." He hissed at the younger's ear.

Shu shivered at his words as Kazuki pulled a knife out of nowhere. "To make Lui mine, I can kill you right now. But it would be any fun. Well..." He said walking away from Shu as he paced inside the room. "I loved Lui sure, but he didn't seem to love me after all. Then I thought if he didn't love me I should hurt him you know. Because why not he need to suffer the way I did. But... hurting him wouldn't hurt him much as I want. When I hurt you he'll be devastated and you're also hurt which means.." He grinned maniacally. 

"I can kill two birds with one stone"

"You're crazy" Shu yelled at him. "Are you insane Kazuki? You know that you won't be able to get away with this. You'll even end up inside the jail. Now leave" Shu said mustering up courage. "I won't tell anyone. Please leave Lui and me alone. "

Kazuki smirked. "Nah... after hurting you I don't mind even if I ended in the jail. It's like my life goal right now. So let's start"

Kazuki stepped to Shu. Shu got down from the bed backing away trying to get as far as from Kazuki. The other people Kazuki had bought was standing aside watching them waiting for Kazuki's signal. Shu backed away and cursed when he felt his back collided with the wall. Kazuki took one of his hands and twisted it behind his back pressing the other against the wall. He slipped his free hand to Shu's abdomen and pressed the knife not hard but enough to draw out blood. Shu winced biting his bottom lip taking low paced breaths. He wanted to be saved and from the person he hated the most.

Back at his home Lui waited for an answer from his lover. He clicked his tongue assuming that Shu had fallen asleep in his phone as he mostly does in their chats. He smiled to himself imagining Shu's sleeping face breaking his thoughts his phone made a sound. Lui quickly snatched his phone. But when he saw the message his heart almost stopped. 

Shu: help

Lui frowned. If someone else send him this message he will just shrug it off as a normal prank but this is Shu. He never pull out prank like this specially on a night like this cause Shu perfectly knew if he did that Lui would really come running to his house just like now. Lui jumped out from his bed without thinking twice about it. He ran down the stairs and headed to the door. Thankfully the rest of his family was already asleep which made it easier to escape. He ran the whole way to his lovers house not caring how cold and dark the surrounding is. 

Shu is in danger. That's the only thing he cared for right at the moment cause without him his life has no goal or meaning. Lui didn't know how much time it took to reach Shu's apartment. He opened to door silently. It opened without much effort making Lui more suspicious. Shu is always responsible he never leave his door unlocked. Lui tiptoed toward Shu's room. There was still a light illuminating from it. 

He stopped outside of the door hearing the voiced coming from the inside it didn't take a genius to figure out the rough male voice was Kazuki's. "I'll cut you into pieces" He was saying after a second he heard Shu yelping loudly. Lui clenched his fists bursting in.

The whole room fell silent at the arrival of the Lui. Shu gave out a relieved sigh. Lui glanced at the surrounding. His blood boiled when he saw Shu had some cuts and bruises and Kazuki was holding a knife dripping with blood. Shu's blood, his lovers blood.

"I'll kill you Kazuki"  He said about lunging at him but two firm hands caught him back. Lui struggled to get out from the strong grip of the elder but failed. "Release me you dimwit. Fight me, don't hurt him"

Kazuki signaled the man. He grabbed Lui's chin and punched him hard making Lui stumble to the floor. "Lui" Shu yelled struggling to move away from Kazuki but Kazuki gripped on his hair and pulled him back earning another pained whimper from the albino. "D-don't hurt him" Shu said which almost came out as a whisper. But it was audible to everyone at the room. "You said you love him don't you?" He said turning to Kazuki.

From the other side of the room Lui looked at them confused. But Shu kept talking. "How can you do this to the person you love? If you truly loved him you would never be able to hurt him Kazuki. Think from your heart"

"What is this about?" Lui demanded as Kazuki turned to him. 

"Oh, didn't he tell you?" He asked stepping on Shu's hand. Pain shot through Shu's hand. Kazuki didn't stop. He stomped on it again as Shu gritted his teeth trying not yell in pain but his expression betrayed him. 

"Leave him alone" Lui yelled. "Hurt me instead. Kill me if you want. But don't even touch him"

Kazuki smiled. "How I thought one day you'll speak like that about me, I was completely in love with you and I tried to get your attention every day I thought about you cause I was completely in love with you. But you never even pay attention to me and then out of everyone in the world you fell in love with your sworn enemy, this pathetic Shu right in front of my eyes"

Lui didn't speak. It was evident in his face that how shocked he was. "I didn't know that you were..."

"OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T" Kazuki yelled cutting him off. "You were all distracted because of this freak" Kazuki said kicking him. Shu hacked coughing out loudly, Lui tried to get to him again but the rest of his gang held him in his place. "And" He said turning to Shu who looked he was about to pass out. He crouched down beside him and wrapped his arms around his neck choking the albino.

Lui went ballistic. "Get your filthy hands away from him you freak. He has nothing to do with this. It's between me and you, Shu did nothing wrong"

But Kazuki didn't pay any attention to him he kept his eyes trained on the albino who was struggling to take Kazuki's strong hands away from his neck. "Which heart you were talking about?" he asked making Shu look at him in the eye. "I used to have a heart. I loved someone with all of it and now there's none left. Because he broke it to million pieces just because of you. You are the reason to everything. You should just go and die"

"K-Kazuki, c-calm down" He croaked out. "Y-you don't k-know w-what you're d-doing. W-what will y-your family t-think about y-you when they..." Shu stopped taking a deep breath as he felt Kazuki loosening his grip around his neck. "when they find out. T-they will be h-heartbroken a-and disappointed"

Kazuki pulled away from him getting up he seem to be deep in thought about something. He didn't realize that Lui had taken down the two guys. He snatched the knife and held it against Kazuki's throat. "I'll kill you"

Shu gasped struggling to his feet but fell back to his knees crying out in pain. Lui didn't hear anything. His vision was red with rage. The only thing he wanted to do was kill this boy. He hurt Shu and no one is going to get away after hurting his love. Shu cried out desperately. "Lui, don't do that. I don't want you to become a murderer. LUI"

Lui brought his hand to slit down his throat but stopped when he felt someone hugging him from behind. He dropped the knife in disbelief. What did he almost do? He almost committed a murder. He turned back as Shu pulled away his cheeks stained with tears. He jumped to his embrace sobbing loudly to his chest. Lui bit his lip running a hand through his milky white hair. "I'm sorry Shu" He said kissing the younger's forehead. "I'm sorry, my vision got clouded with all the revenge. I'm so sorry Shu"

Shu tightened his grip. "Please don't do that again. You scared me. I don't want to see you like that. You're a good person Lui, I don't want to see you murdering or hurting someone"

"I won't, sorry" Lui said as he rocked him back and forth trying to calm both his and Shu's racing hearts. The room was silent except for the occasional sobs of the albino. The silence got soon broke by the sound of the sirens. That's when Kazuki realized the thing he'd done. His eyes widen as he desperately looked around shaking in fear. In no time the police would come here. 

Shu pulled away from Lui and looked straightly at Kazuki. "Kazuki leave now"

Lui looked at Shu like he was crazy and Kazuki gave him the same look. "What are you talking about Shu? We can't let him escape"

Shu shook his head. "No, we have to help him. There is another elevator from the back door you can take that one. Move quickly before they come up. We can make up a story but you have to go now"

"But.. why?" Kazuki asked. 

Shu looked at him his lips curving to a small smile. "Because loving someone is not a crime. It's and emotion we can't escape Kazuki. We do anything to make that person ours we can't work against  a strong desire. I know that more than anyone. When you get home and think about everything, maybe you'll figure out that the things you did to make Lui yours aren't the best ways to make him yours"

Kazuki bit his lip he opened his mouth trying to say something. he couldn't believe how kind Shu was to him. He looked at Lui who had a neutral expression Kazuki knew this is his only chance so this time he spoke the words which felt right at the moment. "Thanks" He said.

When the police arrived there was only Lui and Shu in the room. They made up a story telling that some thieves broke in and when they head the sirens they escaped from the window. Thankfully the cops believed their story and guided both of them to the ambulance. As soon as they got in Shu passed out from pure exhaustion and blood loss. When they arrived at the hospital it was almost past midnight. They took the albino to the emergency room as Lui went to treat his injuries after a while his parents arrived and then next day Shu's parents arrived. 

They didn't look so happy. Of course they wouldn't Shu gets in trouble each and every day and they wouldn't be happy about that. Mr. Kurenai approached toward Lui. "The cops told be thieves broke in" He said. Lui's family left in the morning but Lui decided to stay behind in the sake of Shu. 

"Yes" He answered in a low tone. 

"But I think there's more to this story" He said firmly looking at Lui. Lui sighed. Mr. Kurenai is an intelligent person who can detect lies so he spoke the truth. he told him everything happened. Mr. Kurenai listened to him attentively then at last he ran a hand through his hair. "listen Lui" he said. "I know you two love each other a lot but I can't keep my son falling into danger like this. I'm his father right?"

Lui just nodded unable to form words. He knew what's coming. Maybe Mr. Kurenai is right after all. Shu gets in trouble because of him. He got almost killed himself few times. If he walked away maybe Shu will really be safe once again. 

"Lui, I think a little distance would be better in this situation. I'm sorry"

Lui shook his head giving him a weak smile. "Don't be. I understand. And I better head home" He said turning on his heel and walking outside of the hospital with a heavy heart which weighed more than the world.

Shu got up to see his parents looking at him with worried faces. Shu smiled. "Sorry" He said pouting when his mom came to him and hugged him tightly. "You scared me so much son"

Shu looked around to spot a certain person but when he found none he frowned. "Is Lui okay? He's not hurt is he?"

"He is fine" His dad said walking to the bed. "Shu..." He said in a serious tone. "We talked about this mom and I, I think a little distance would be better right?"

I think I should say this. This book is reaching to an end, I don't know why but I'm super sad about it. 

Anyway I have a new book in my mind and I already have nine chapters on it in my drafts. I'll give you a small hint about it. 

It's going to be a Wakiya x Shu story. I know many don't ship it but recently I am simply addicted to that ship just like I'm in love with Lui x Shu ship.
